The Nine Flags Christmas Parade will take place this Saturday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. As a special addition to this year ’ s parade, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be marching in the parade.
SFA Football will host Abilene Christian in an FCS playoff matchup in Nacogdoches on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.

It's a big weekend in Nacogdoches! Throughout the week, visitors can view the Budweiser Clydesdales at the Nacogdoches County Exposition and Civic Center.
Saturday brings a full slate of festive activities. The Nacogdoches Arts Collaborative Winter Workshop, A Merry Market on Main, Jingle Jams on the Square, and the Nine Flags Lighted Christmas Parade all fill downtown with seasonal cheer.
Also on Saturday, Nacogdoches hosts its first non–opening round FCS playoff game since 1989. Kickoff is at 1 pm at Homer Bryce Stadium.

Loblolly Model Train Display Open
The Loblolly Model Train Display is back at the Nacogdoches Railroad Depot, brought to life each year by George Ellis and J.R. This annual holiday favorite draws hundreds of visitors, and this year’s display has already welcomed some early guests— the Antique Automobile Club of America Louisiana Chapter.
The display opens this Friday and will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. through December 14th. Admission is free and open to all. Young visitors can also enjoy the popular Loblolly Scavenger Hunt as they explore the scenes.
A Very Victorian Christmas Dinner
Tickets are now on sale for the Very Victorian Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 12th, at 6:30 PM at Zion Hill Historic Site.
Enjoy Victorian dance lessons, holiday crafts, a traditional multi-course meal, and live string music. Dress in Victorian attire for a chance to win the Best Dressed Contest.

Friends of the Library volunteers wrapped children’s books that will be given away at the Books from Santa program on December 22. This is the second year that the library has given away children’s books in time for Christmas.
Citizenship Class News! This week three former students came by to share the news they successfully completed all their requirements for the naturalization exam. The family, originally from Bangladesh, drove each week from Garrison for several weeks to attend class! The class meets every Wednesday from 5-6pm.
Library staff will offer a class on using Google Sheets to budget and plan for their holiday shopping. The class is December 11 at 5:30pm. Please register on eventbrite.com.

Public Works crews are currently clearing the leaf route in zone 5 and brush in zone 13.
Citizens can still haul their brush and bagged lawn debris for unlimited free dumps to the City Landfill located at 4602 N.W. Stallings Dr., with their City of Nacogdoches issued water bill and ID/DL showing proof of residence.
Brush & Yard Waste Pickup
• Tree limbs and brush shall be stacked on street right-of-ways, or within 3 to 6 feet of the curb or street.
o Stacks shall not exceed 6'L X 4'W X 4'H and be limited to three piles.
o The maximum diameter of the largest limb shall not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
o Brush must be stacked in front of the residence that generated the brush.
o Brush placed on vacant lots or in the streets will not be picked up.
o Limbs should not extend into the roadway. Bagged yard waste
o Bagged yard waste collection is "ONLY" available for residential addresses.
o Bagged yard waste shall be placed within ten feet of the edge of the roadway for collection. Yard waste must be properly bagged.
o The city will only collect 20 bags per residence per week.
o Bagged Yard Waste may also be disposed of at the City landfill, for no charge, provided that the:
-Resident provide current copy of water bill & drivers license as proof of residence.
