SFA WBB won the 2026 Southland Conference Tournament and will take part in the 2026 NCAA Tournament later this month. A date and opponent for the Ladyjacks will be determined on Sunday.

Azaleas are beginning to bloom across Nacogdoches a little earlier than in recent years. The team at SFA Gardens expects peak bloom to arrive next week, with the colorful displays likely lasting through early April.
Earlier this week, Visit Nacogdoches staff member Lauryn Pennington assisted with photography at several locations around town as part of our ongoing efforts to build Nacogdoches’ Texas Film Friendly portfolio. These images will help showcase the community as a potential filming destination.
We’re also excited to share that the Blueberry Bluegrass Concert in the Park will return on June 12th, the Friday before the Texas Blueberry Festival! This free, family-friendly event will take place at Festival Park from 7–10 pm. Stay tuned for more details as the date approaches.

Warrant Forgiveness Program
The Nacogdoches Municipal Court is offering a warrant forgiveness program. Through this program, all warrant fees will be removed when a citizen voluntarily contacts the court to pay a minimum of onehalf the total amount due and start a payment plan for the balance owed. Anyone that chooses to pay their fine and court costs in full will save an additional 20% off the fine amount The court will also offer assistance to individuals that may not be able to pay half down or pay in full to work out an agreeable action plan. This program will be available February through April. Anyone that comes to the court to resolve their outstanding warrants will be given safe harbor.

Public Works
Public Works crews are currently clearing the leaf route in zone 11 and the brush route in zone 13.
Citizens can still haul their brush and bagged lawn debris for unlimited free dumps to the City Landfill located at 4602 N.W. Stallings Dr., with their City of Nacogdoches issued water bill and ID/DL showing proof of residence.
Brush & Yard Waste Pickup
• Tree limbs and brush shall be stacked on street right-of-ways, or within 3 to 6 feet of the curb or street.
o Stacks shall not exceed 6'L X 4'W X 4'H and be limited to three piles.
o The maximum diameter of the largest limb shall not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
o Brush must be stacked in front of the residence that generated the brush.
o Brush placed on vacant lots or in the streets will not be picked up.
o Limbs should not extend into the roadway. Bagged yard waste
o Bagged yard waste collection is "ONLY" available for residential addresses.
o Bagged yard waste shall be placed within ten feet of the edge of the roadway for collection.
Yard waste must be properly bagged.
o The city will only collect 20 bags per residence per week.
o Bagged Yard Waste may also be disposed of at the City landfill, for no charge, provided that the:
-Resident provide current copy of water bill & drivers license as proof of residence.

TxDOT has closed the southbound on-ramp from SH 7 to SL 224 in Nacogdoches will close on Thursday, Feb 19 for the construction of a new ramp The closure is expected to last one to two weeks For an alternate route to US 59 S , take SH 7 to BU 59

The first Spring Fitness in the Park was a success. Participants enjoyed Chair exercise class and Pilates in the park last Saturday. This Saturday’s Fitness in the park will be pickleball at Banita Creek Park’s multi-use courts starting at 9:30am. All equipment will be provided. Just show up and play!
Spring break camp was well attended this week. Summer camp is just around the corner. We have revamped our summer camp and will be able to accommodate more participants this year. Registration for Summer Camp will open May 1 . st

Exciting Updates at Nacogdoches Dog Park!
The Nacogdoches Dog Park has undergone some fantastic improvements!
Expansion: The park has been enlarged, providing more space for our furry friends. New Amenities: Expect new picnic tables, benches, and equipment to arrive in the coming weeks.
Updated Layout: The sides have been switched! The area that was once designated for small dogs is now the Large Dog side
We’re thrilled to offer more room for both large and small dogs to run and play freely! Clear signs are available for easy identification of each side.
Code Enforcement
Community Cleanup Day
As the Springtime approaches and Spring Cleaning nears, the City of Nacogdoches Code Enforcement would like to offer our help in the Mill Pond Community. We are sponsoring a “Clean Up” day, where you can get rid of your unwanted “Rubbish” items for absolutely “Free”.
We will have our roll off dumpsters set up in the park where you can just drive in and unload your items, as long as you have help for unloading.
