Profiled in detail are four of the Luftwaffe’s most feared aircraft: the Me 110, nicknamed “The Destroyer” by Goring himself; the Messerschmitt ME109, considered to be the first truly modern fighter of the era; the dive-bomber Junkers Ju 87, or “Stuka”; and the jet-powered Me 262, which was the harbinger of the jet age to come.

DISC 3: ME 262 – THE SUPERPLANE HITLER wASTED The Messerschmitt ME262 was the world’s first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft and one of the most advanced airplanes during World War II. used in a variety of roles, it was much faster and better armed compared with Allied fighters of its day. However, it is argued that Hitler didn’t fully capitalize on these advantages and in the end, the Me 262 had a negligible impact on the course of the war as a result of its late introduction.
