Overview

Josh Malerman: vocals, guitar Derek Berk: drums Chad Stocker: bass

Moxie Bravo is a sneaky album. If it were playing in the background, or blasting at a bar, a listener might mistake its energy and bombastic sound for one hell of a party record. But if that listener were to allow his ears to fasten onto the songs, he would discover that The High Strung is onto something wholly unique. The High Strung is not garage. The members do not have a bluesy bone in their bodies, and Moxie Bravo reflects that. Josh Malerman, the band’s singer and writer, alternates his lyrics between Lewis Carroll-ish character sketches and songs about sexual triumphs. Musically, the band is clearly led by their rhythm section. Chad Stocker plays a lead bass, and Derek Berk matches him. But The High Strung are a “songs first” band, and it is impossible to form an opinion about them without considering their subject matter. Malerman’s lyrics sound more like an eerie children’s novel than they do the traditional canon of be-my-girl rock ‘n’ roll. And for this, and for the sheer originality of their arrangements, Moxie Bravo is something to be experienced rather than felt.

Press Quotes “A masterpiece.” – Bob Pollard, Guided By Voices “Motown, Iggy Pop, Eminem–now Detroit has given us The High Strung. And we’re better for it.”– KEXP “The New Wave revival has produced its first acolytes who love life as much as it drives them crazy. Isn’t that why people write songs, anyway?” – Rolling Stone

Selling Points • Heralded as a “masterpiece” by Bob Pollard of Guided by Voices, this is the extended version of Moxie Bravo, including three unreleased songs. Never readily available to the masses until now! • Review in Rolling Stone, full-page feature in Entertainment Weekly, and the Washington Post named “The Songbird” the second best song of the year. • Three features have run on NPR. • Stuff named “Never Saw It As Union” as the song to download, ahead of Kanye West’s enormous hit “Gold Digger.” • The High Strung tours it’s ass off, and has a great booking agent to help: Andrew Colvin at Ground Control Touring. • MySpace street team campaign with banner posting, blogging, and nonstop bulletins. • Advertising and tour marketing along tour routes. • Ads will run in Magnet, DIW, Harp, Arthur, and Pitchfork.

Overview

Damon Locks: vocals, keyboards Wayne Montana: bass, keyboards Tim Mulvenna: drums, percussion

International sounds homogenize through twisted dirty avenues, where the high-rolling boom-box dub kings cruise tropical boulevards, tops down, stereos ablaze at twilight. This Chicago trio’s strange rawar style stretches the sonic palette like Reed Richards (Fantastic Four), whose creator Jack Kirby plays influence to vocalist Damon Locks’ intricately woven album covers depicting dark, rugged cityscapes. The group’s third album ups the ante with all chips on the table. Diving deeper into uncharted waters, the musical monsoon continues to saturate the players’ diverse sounds in their own unique vision. The new “Chicago calling” is here, pulsating through the windy city’s turbulence. But why bother with labels? Play it loud, and ride fast.

Press Quotes “An eccentric, genre-defying sound.” – Chicago Reader “Dirty disco-punk, filthy dub reggae, and filthier funk.” – Grooves “N*E*R*D meets The Specials. A mission against political apathy.” – The Wire “Pre-digital dancehall and a patina of modern hip-hop.” – Seattle Weekly “Making art out of punk, jazz, soul, and dub.” – Magnet

Featured Artists William Parker: bass, shakuhachi, slit drum, balafon, bombarde, dumbek Hamid Drake: drums, tabla, frame drum

Overview

William Parker and Hamid Drake have been called the best rhythm section in jazz today. Let’s go one step further and call them simply the best. Piercing the Veil was originally issued on AUM Fidelity in 2001 and gave rise to giant amounts of praise and attention. It has been out of print for far too long. So, in re-issuing it, AUM decided to up the ante. First Communion has never been issued and is an equally extraordinary recording of this duo in their first-ever meeting, two days before the studio session that gave rise to Piercing the Veil. The meeting took place in Brooklyn at AUM HQ to a rapt audience of eighty people. This is one of those rare moments where the Godhead was captured, and is being shared anew and afar. Volume 2: Summer Snow (their new studio recording) is coming in a few short months…

Press Quotes “These two high priests of free improvisation can rock ‘n’ roll with the best of ‘em. They come together to create sounds, images, and ideas that transcend time and place.” – All About Jazz “Displaying a full spectrum of sound, Piercing the Veil is a magical recording of two of the most soulful and spiritual voices in avant-garde jazz. This album is nothing short of essential.” – Other Music “Parker and Drake visit under-explored territory here–the junction between the deepest riches of jazz and the many improvisatory traditions around the world that came before it.” – NPR “Piercing the Veil’s opening cut is pure dance music–the pair never lose the groove, but they crank it up and out, heading to a place where ecstasy supercedes intellect … a fascinating exploration of multiple sound worlds.” – Alternative Press

Selling Points • A stunning combination: the finally-back-in-print first studio recording Piercing the Veil plus the first-time issue of the duo’s massive first performance, First Communion. • Beautiful 2XCD digipak. • Full service/promotion to national press and e-media by AUM Fidelity. • Full service/promotion to college, non-commercial, and NPR radio by AUM Fidelity. • Ads will run in Signal to Noise, Stop Smiling, Arthur, Point of Departure, and more.

Featured Artists Eric Collins: guitar, vocals, bass, keyboards Dean Lorenz: guitar, bass, keyboards Carla Jones: bass Amanda Jones: keyboards Stephanie Salomon: percussion

Overview The voice and brains behind the bands Denison Marrs and The Party People, Eric Collins has combined what he learned from both projects with some of his favorite music to create The Dark Romantics, a darker, sexier, groovier sound with enough blues and twang mixed in that you can’t help but get down. With brother-in-law Dean Lorenz, who also did time as Denison Marrs’ drummer and lead guitar god of The Party People, The Dark Romantics recorded their debut out west with Jason Martin of Starflyer 59 behind the wheel.

Press Quotes “Like a mysterious temptress who savors the flickering half light of an underground club, Lakeland’s Dark Romantics revel in sexy rock and roll noir. The group’s producer, Jason Martin of the band Starflyer 59 … calls its sound ‘haunted house’ music, but that might suggest there isn’t anything there to bob your head to. In fact, the DR’s songs have plenty of simmering energy.” – The Ledger “The Dark Romantics combine their previous bands’ sounds–the Christian pop acts of Denison Marrs and the John Ralston Band– with the tastiness of ABBA, electronic influences from Jason Martin’s Starflyer 59, and even some melodic New Pornographers thrown in as well. The result is a darkly delicious indie sound with a dance backbone.” – Racketscan

Selling Points • Produced by Jason Martin of Starflyer 59. • The Dark Romantics were formerly known as The Party People and Denison Marrs, the latter of which sold 70,000+ records. • Features members of the John Ralston Band (Vagrant). • Have toured with Copeland, Murder By Death, Discover America, and Unwed Sailor. • Will tour for six to eight months in 2007 (booked by Noise Problem Booking Agency). • Recently received a clothing line deal with Evil Needles. • MTV play on Next and Pimp My Ride. • Featured on CD compilations by Vice and Initium Eyeware. • Featured music video on Insound. • Ads will run in Vice, Under the Radar,Wonkavision, Arthur, Big Takeover, Skyscraper, Copper Press, Status, Modern Fix, Pitchfork, and more.

Nuttin’s Gonna Git’choo If U Don’t Look Out is a massive sack of good-natured, danceable Nuttness designed to upgrade your listening experience in every aurally pleasurable manner imaginable. With Sun Ra, P. Funk, Grateful Dead, and Fela Kuti as inspirations, these musicians represent the outcome of funkin’ for many years. Produced by the Nuttness Monster (Fishbone bassist and co-founder Norwood Fisher), these recordings sport an amazing amalgamation of musicians–members of legendary musical trailblazers including H.R. of Bad Brains/Soul Brains; Spacey T and John Bigham of Fishbone; Mark Cross and Audra Nishita of Weapon of Choice; Danny Moynahan and I Timothy of The Untouchables; Bronx Style Bob and Donald D of The Rhyme Syndicate; Asdru; Ulysses, and Crunchy of Ozomatli; Overton Loyd of P. Funk … the list goes on forever and a few years. A legendary phenomenutt in it’s own right, Nuttin’s Gonna Git’choo introduces a mainly live occurrence to a brand new world. Overview

Jonass: guitar, vocals Marcass: synth Drumass: drums

A special US-only release featuring the best tracks from Quit Your Dayjob’s two previous efforts! The Quit Your Dayjob reform school has been on a pilgrim journey through Europe since their debut mini album was released into the world in 2004. The prisons around Europe opened their gates so that QYDJ’s crazy rock show could enlighten the lost souls and invite them to a new way of living. The newborn freaks were dubbed “asses” and took it upon themselves to spread the Freak Gospel to those who wished to step out of the boring cell of inhibitions and rightfully claim their rights to freak out...

Press Quotes “Man, this is brilliant, they are like the Kraftwerk of punk rock!” – Blag Dahlia, The Dwarves “Definitely check this out if you’d like to hear the B-52’s at warp speed, or Devo in a punk package, or if you just simply want to rock out to twenty-first century punked up new wave.” – PunkNews “Love The Fall but haven’t got the time to sit through one of their albums, never mind the whole months-consuming back catalogue? Then this could be the record for you … this is one of the stoopidest, wildest trawls you can lay your hands on, all cheap bleeps, ruinous technobilly, and universal yargling, and, yes, that is as much fun as it sounds.” – PlayLouder

Selling Points • A special US-only release featuring the best tracks from Quit Your Dayjob’s two previous efforts! • Toured the US with OK Go in November 2007 – all shows were sold out. • Press and radio results have been incredible in Europe, and the band has toured across the continent both as headliners and with bands like The Hives, Juliette & The Licks, and Gogol Bordello. • Full press mailing and radio campaign by Planetary Group. • Heavy promotion online through MySpace, Buzznet, and more.

Nail welcomes Slow january records to its roster Slow January was founded in 2003 by Christopher Sapone following a freak accident on the streets of Los Angeles. After much rehabilitation, Sapone went on to Portland to make a home for Slow January. The current roster includes Alan Singley & Pants Machine, The New Lows, Summerbirds in the Cellar, and Rob Schrab.

Overview “Rambunctious pop in a post-Sufjan world … for a closer approximation, try Ben Kweller or Ben Lee admiring the Architecture in Helsinki, or serving as the foundation of Tilly’s Wall. Look out, Portland: this band could wear the pants in your pop town.” – Portland Mercury

In a musical climate hooked on irony, cynicism, and superficiality, Alan Singley & Pants Machine are a refreshing change. Their latest, LovingKindness, is their most bravely optimistic album to date. Previously, Singley was in Orlando playing under the moniker Missouri Loves Company. Stepping down as frontman, he also added keyboards to Pilots Vs. Aeroplanes, a band that toured nationally in 2003. PVA played five dates on the Warped Tour and released Our Desire is Wind and Motor on Good Bye Blue Skies Records in 2000.

Selling Points • National radio promotion through SPECTRE Entertainment Group. • National publicity targeting CMJ, Pitchfork, Spin, Paste, Harp, blogs, and more. • Voted # 7 in Willamette Week’s Top 10 New Bands in Portland.

“Here comes the chorus, here comes the western poetry, here comes greatness … spectacular and from out of nowhere.” —WBAI FM Summerbirds in the Cellar’s debut has garnered a wide array of comparisons to REM, Clinic, and Depeche Mode, called “genuinely astounding” by the Orlando Citybeat. The architecture is complex, the impression is abstract, and though not spacey, there is a certain otherworldliness about their music. When not on the road themselves, two of the Summerbirds (Brad Register and Curtis Brown) can be seen on tour as backing musicians for Now It’s Overhead (Saddle Creek Records).

Selling Points • Two members also play in Saddle Creek band Now It’s Overhead. • Recorded by Andy Lemaster (Now It’s Overhead, Bright Eyes) at Chase Park Transduction. • Guest vocals by Neely Jenkins (Tilly and the Wall) and Andy Lemaster. • Named one of the Top 10 Acts to Watch in 2006 by Creative Loafing.

Overview “An Athens collective that’s part blues-rock, part Motown, and part Mardi Gras parade.” – Tiny Mixtapes Dark Meat is an Athens ensemble mixing elements of blues, punk, psychedelic jams, jazz, and Zappa/ Beefheart-style explosions. Imagine The Stooges meets Crazy Horse with killer marching band horns, wailing gospel-style female backing vocals, ripping guitar leads, and free jazz freakouts. Singer/ guitarist Jim McHugh and bassist Ben Clack moved to Athens from North Carolina two years ago and met guitarist Kris Deason and drummer Forrest Leffer while working together at a downtown restaurant. When second drummer Spirit Bird left town, cymbal master Jason Robira filled his chair. The group features a powerful backing vocal ensemble called the Subtweeters, which can rival the vocal intensity of the earth-shaking performances on Big Brother and the Holding Company’s classic LP Cheap Thrills. The group’s massive horn section, led by Charlie Estes and Aaron Jollay, Dark Meat comes across like a Salvation Army mariachi brass band–and with waves of reeds, the songs become Universal Indians wildly fluid in the exploratory sections. Dark Meat’s debut, Universal Indians, showcases the wildly Genre: Alt Rock eclectic outfit at their full-throttle frenzied best. Overview “Vocokesh continue with the Pink Floyd swirl, krautrock bleeps, and Tangerine Dream’s sense of cinematic dynamics. People digging the joys of Ash Ra Temple and SubArachanoid Space are going to love this—strictly for headphone heads!” – Montreal Mirror

The Vocokesh …All This and Hieronymous Bosch

The Vocokesh formed in 1991 when guitarist Richard Franecki spun out of orbit from F/i, the legendary Milwaukee psychedelic veterans he co-founded. …All This and Hieronymous Bosch,The Vocokesh’s eighth long player, displays some departures from previous formulas, resulting in some of their finest and freshest sonics yet. Synthesizers and electronics, prominent throughout The Vocokesh’s catalog, adopt more of a backseat role while the sitar, only sparingly used in the past, bubbles strongly to the surface.Masterful guitar work is still in rich abundance, but many of the dark psych passages The Vocokesh regularly navigate is offset by sunnier trajectories. As implied by the title, …All This and Hieronymus Bosch hosts a surrealistic depth rarely matched in instrumental rock these days–a fantastic entry into The Vocokesh’s ongoing psychedelic experiments.

Overview

Sam Mickens: guitar, vocals Jherek Bischoff: bass Nick Tamburro: drums Korum Bischoff: drums Gust Burns: organ Josh Stewart: trumpet

Like experimental pop running mates Blonde Redhead, Deerhoof, and Xiu Xiu, The Dead Science infuse their songs with sometimes abrasive, sometimes unsettling doses of avant classical, free jazz, and other musical esoterica while maintaining a heady pursuit of the perfect pop moment. Featuring Sam Mickens on guitar and vocals, Jherek Bischoff on upright bass, and Nick Tamburro on drums, The Dead Science present art songs of harrowing passion and palpable intimacy. Combining the hyperactive looseness of improvised music with the economical arrangements of classic pop, The Dead Science have achieved a new and strange model of the “power trio” that owes equal debts to Prince, Einstürzende Neubauten, and John Coltrane. Recorded with dark pop über-producer Ryan Hadlock (Black Heart Procession, Blonde Redhead, Stephen Malkmus), Frost Giant is a nine-song litany of crushing forces, sexual longing, and the well of misery.

Press Quotes “The Dead Science breathe in an ethereal mire, a soaring swoon that’s merely a pancake-makeup film above the wicked stratum beneath.” – The Stranger “The Dead Science strike contemplative awe in those who see them live, but Frost Giant takes them to a new level of mutually adorable and disquieting recorded music–perfectly balanced between the devil and the deep blue sea … Frost Giant sounds like an album Bowie would have died to make between Low and Scary Monsters, perfectly integrating Brian Eno’s ambient play and improvisational studio experimentation with the glamorous madness of a strikingly charismatic voice.” – Three Imaginary Girls “Borrows the best ideas from rock, punk, ragtime, blues, neo-classical, fusion, and jazz.” – Splendid “The Dead Science have proven themselves as a band to watch.” – PopMatters

Overview

The intensity of harmonic power that emerges when Jessie & Layla’s voices join together has not been experienced with this level of potency since the glory days of the sixties.Voices and instruments rise and fall between lyrical cadences that bring the listener back to a time when voices really meant what they sang. Lush string arrangements by producer Liam Mulvaney and a forceful re-mastering by Second Shimmy’s Kramer bring out the hidden nuances in this magnificent release, surely destined to be looked upon as one of the finest debuts in modern pop history.

This Story is a band that is not afraid to play with the spiders and mice that live in the cupboards. They break bread with friend and foe while enjoying tales of faraway travels and sunsets. All eight members of This Story load into their converted SWAT bus to tour the country, and are planning to start their third national tour this March. Members of Arrah and The Ferns were all members of This Story, and two thirds of The Ferns are featured on Darling, It’s War.

Selling Points • Kramer’s first signing to his new Second-Shimmy label. • Producer Liam Mulvaney’s lush string arrangements make this CD stand out. • Press and radio promotion by Allegro Media.

Overview “FGFC820 is perhaps the best example of pure, beat-driven EBM to be unleashed onto the scene in years. The rhythms pound their way into your psyche with militaristic grandeur, stomping like a Teutonic march the likes of which have been mostly lost in this new age of synthpop wannabes.” – ReGen Magazine Formed in 2004, FGFC820 is the new tribal EBM project from well known and respected New York DJs Rexx Arkana and Dräcos. Drawing on influences ranging from old school industrial to modern gabber, Arkana and Dräcos combine to create a sound that is at once melodic and relentlessly rhythmic. In addition to twenty years of experience as both a DJ and promoter–having worked with everyone from industrial stalwarts Skinny Puppy and Ministry to newer stars Covenant and VNV Nation– Rexx Arkana is also the founder of scene super group Bruderschaft. As DJs, it’s not surprising that FGFC820’s compositions inspire movement, nor that their messages have been enslaved by the beat. Overview

Abandoning their usual method of production and opting for a new experience, Dr. Dog recorded We All Belong on a twenty-four-track, two-inch tape machine as opposed to their previous releases, which were recorded on their faithful eight-track. To a band that thrives on using creative muscle to overcome the inherent limitations of a minimal amount of equipment, the twenty-four-track introduced new possibilities as well as new challenges. Taking full advantage of both, Dr. Dog managed to make an album that captures the organic spirit so important to the band while introducing new layers of vocal harmonies and textured instrumentation the band had only been able to imagine prior. The recording sessions for We All Belong yielded material that the band did not feel worked with the album as a whole, but seemed to work as an excellent bridge between Easy Beat and We All Belong. Dr. Dog released this material in September 2006 as six song EP, Takers and Leavers, which Rolling Stone raved “matches The Shins with smart, retro psych rock.” We All Belong was recorded in between headlining dates, a European tour with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and US dates with The Strokes.

Press Quotes “Loaded with three-part harmonies, orchestral strings, heavy reverb, and fuzzy guitars.” – Rolling Stone “Continuing a Philly psychedelic tradition that spans from Bardo Pond to Sun Ra.” – Spin

Selling Points • First time Dr. Dog has recorded in a full twenty-four-track studio. • Music video played over a dozen times on MTV2 program Subterranean. • Recently featured on IFC program The Dozens alongside artists such as Joanna Newsom, The Hold Steady, and Björk. • Rolling Stone has confirmed lead “Breaking Artists” story. • Filter has confirmed feature article. • Dr. Dog’s “Worst Trip” is featured on the Fast Food Nation motion picture soundtrack. • Major media campaign coordinated by Big Hassle. • National college/specialty radio campaign by Pirate Radio Promotions. • AAA radio campaign to follow release date. • Major digital ad campaign targeting Pitchfork. • Ads will run in Magnet, Arthur, ReadyMade, and Under the Radar.

Overview “Sure to attract a rabid cult of indie-rock fans.” – New York Times It’s easier to compare and contrast than it is to take something for face value, love it, and never let it go. Easy Beat is the debut album from Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog. Fans of My Morning Jacket, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Band should pay close attention as they cruise through the desert (at 113 mph) listening to Pet Sounds. Rarely does a record change the course of one’s life … well, until now.

Selling Points • Re-issue of Dr. Dog’s first album. • Critics all loved this album–NY Times, Mojo, CMJ, Rolling Stone,The Fader, and NPR. • Ranked in yearly Top Ten lists for Village Voice, CMJ, and Emusic. • Received 5/5 stars from Alternative Press. • Dr. Dog tours all the time, including recent tours with the Raconteurs, The Black Keys, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Strokes, The Magic Numbers, Architecture in Helsinki, My Morning Jacket, and more.

Overview The Bark Haze is primarily a guitar duo of made up of Gown (Andrew Macgregor) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), although auxiliary members have been known to include Pete Nolan (Magik Markers, Virgin Eye Blood Brothers, Cops). The group’s name came from a mishearing of the name of radical early seventies R&B group the Bar-Kays, and from that moment the concept of mis-hearing as some open-ended musical course became The Bark Haze’s identity. So far, all concerts have taken place in Western Massachusetts, once in the confines of Cambridge’s Twisted Village record emporium. The group anxiously awaits its debut gig in the UK at the Nightmare Before Christmas event curated by Moore. As the heroic and potentially bonkers Carpenters refrained, “We’ve Only Just Begun.” Damn straight.

Overview Baikal is a new burner from Bardo Pond brothers John & Michael Gibbons along with fellow Bardo Pond members Clint Takeda and Jason Kourkonis. This time, they ventured down the route of heavy freeimprovisation and a Last Exit-style hard rock approach coupled with a hard psych bend. With two tracks, each weighing in at over thirty minutes in length, it’s clear that Baikal is a deep voyage undersea with yet another mind-blowing Bardo Pond side project–and it’s a heavy trip indeed. On Honey Rose, the group’s first release for Important, the South London trio builds a bucolic soundtrack to Jon Spira’s mysterious short film Suityman. While the influence of Bruce Langhorne, Boxhead Ensemble, and much of the 4AD roster can be keenly felt on this EP, so too can the wondrous drone narratives that were such a feature of Rameses III’s previous works. If you walked into a seedy drag bar and found The Sweet, The Shangri-Las, and Slade all onstage together, drinking heavily, they would sound something like The Sirens. This Detroit-bred all-covers group–who has been produced by the illustrious Jim Diamond and the Flaming Lips’ Michael Ivins–formed in 2000 and subsequently released their first full-length album on the Get Hip label. The members are so firmly entrenched in their city that the band didn’t play outside the 313 area code until well into its fourth year of existence. And yet, to quote Sirens leader Muffy Kroha, “we were getting buttloads of fan mail from everywhere in the world before we had ever even played north of 8 Mile.” The band’s “buttloads” of fans were graced with a tour in 2005, with dates supporting Nashville Pussy and The Bellrays, and then The Sirens returned to the road in 2006 for more touring, to debut a new batch of killer covers for what would come to be this new album: More Is More! More Is More isn’t just the name of The Sirens’ new album–it has been the band’s credo from the beginning. The band’s most excessive and glittery album to date features impressive versions of glam-rock killers by such luminaries as Slade, The Shangri-Las, Girlschool, The Bay City Rollers, David Bowie & The Spiders, and The Sweet. And, if that wasn’t enough to pass the glam rock exam, how about Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me” as a bonus track?! Excess in excess is what The Sirens are all about. Prepare to experience glitter, corsets, gold lamé suits, eighteen-inch heels, codpieces, and voluminous hair. Indeed! More Is More!

Press Quotes “What the Detroit Cobras are doing to sixties R&B, these foxy ladies seem to be doing to seventies glam rock. Definitely on my Top 10 of the year.” – LowCut “Kids, if covering Suzi Quatro, Hollywood Brats, and Ike Turner ain’t a show of class (and passion) then please show us the door.” – Detroit Metro Times “Wham bam, thank you glam!” – Village Voice

Sold for Tomorrow is the debut release by Budapest-based alternative rock band The Moog, Hungary’s hottest new export (musical or otherwise). The album, mixed by Nirvana and Hot Hot Heat producer Jack Endino, will undoubtedly get the attention of press, radio, and indie rock fans alike–not only because of the band’s unique Eastern European roots (the press calls them the Hungarian Strokes), but simply because Sold for Tomorrow is an amazing album full of immediately catchy pop songs. The Moog takes their inspiration from sixties rock ‘n’ roll bands (The Beatles, Beach Boys, Kinks, Sonics) and late seventies punk (Ramones, Blondie), as well as an assorted variety of rock groups (Nirvana, Muse, Blur, Libertines). “I Like You”–the album’s first single–recalls the classic pop feel of early Lennon-McCartney songwriting with an innocent-yet-direct pop style, while “Survive” brings to mind The Passenger-era Iggy Pop with its hypnotic melody and clipped guitar chords. The Moog is causing big waves on MySpace, where the band enjoys much adulation from their ever-growing number of fans in both Europe and the US. Sold for Tomorrow is the first musical statement from this young Hungarian rock band, and the music promises it won’t be their last.

Press Quotes “This great band finally has the chance to conquer the world.” – Wan 2 “The Moog is one of the most popular new bands in Hungary for two reasons: 1. They can write hits; 2. They look like models.” – Flyerz “Amazing music and stage presence. The Moog is poised to be very successful.” – Zenész “How can this barely two-year-old band capture everyone’s attention? The fact is that they can write hits–which should make them huge at commercial radio in any country.” – Pesti Est

Formed in the new millennium by singer-songwriter and frontman “Dirty” Dave Johnson, The Glasspack is the answer to the worn-out southern rock of the classic rock airwaves and the sudden staleness of modern hard rock radio. Distinctly of Louisville, this creative and unique Kentucky band has pulled its influences from the best of sixties jam rock and seventies hard rock/punk, obtaining a wide variety of fans. They have been seen playing guitar behind their backs, with their teeth, and any way humanly possible. Johnson has even been known to set his crotch on fire, as well as his guitar, which gained him a Fender Music endorsement in 2005. Dirty Women is the most powerful Glasspack recording ever. The band has been told countless times that they sound like Monster Magnet and The MC5. Not a bad combination if you ask us.
