March 2017 the popular basket bash took place , 15 baskets were made by the different classes. 15 Winners received different extravagant baskets with different themes. From a party bonanza to a sports heaven, all of which were amazing and lots of children brought in different items for them. Children spent up to 5 pounds on raffle tickets (which were 20p a ticket) and put them into a pot for a chance to win. Part of our team interviewed James Hare, the lucky winner of the arts and crafts basket AND the party food basket! He put over 30 tickets in the baskets, no wonder he won! He explained that he may donate some of his winnings to charity, and will share some other things with his friends. When he won, he exclaimed that he jumped for joy; he was very surprised with his win.When children brought items in, they would receive a raffle ticket for a special Easter egg. Eva Clayton and Freya Evans won the two Easter eggs, the two girls took their Easter eggs with glee.
A banquet fit for Romans During Roman day (23/03/17) we sent part of our team out to the year ¾’s banquet to taste the food , see their outfits and interview the children. They wore fantastic, authentic roman togas with stripes of colours like: tangerine, lime and fuchsia. The food was very tasty from honey cookies to doormice sausage rolls homemade by the children themselves.
Mr Sivewright wins trip to Florida! Aaryaa Premanand Captain Mr Sivewright won a golden ticket to Florida on the well-known show ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ on the 11th March. He was seen by millions of people across the world on the live ITV show. He won a special chartered flight to Florida where he will be going to Disneyland and many other places for the finale of the show. Our interview team has specially interviewed him about the success. He said that “I went on a honeymoon with my wife 25 years ago to Florida and it was terrible! My wife got a tooth abscess, my hotel room was robbed, and we couldn’t sit next to each other on the airplane!” His wife wrote a letter about the trip. But Mr Sivewright never knew about the winning until they were on the show. Mr Sivewright was seen constantly smiling the following day during his PE lessons.
