Prayer

Specialism Success

Lord Jesus, you freely showed your love by the gift of your body and blood. Grant that our response to you may grow with our participation in the Eucharist, which is meant to be the common meal of all those who believe in the life gained by your death. We pray that as we wait to celebrate your glorious resurrection, the glory that is Easter, we look for you Lord, the light of the world, in all the people we meet today. Amen.

The Mentoring Programme that forms part of the Careers Academy UK (CAUK) Programme got off to a good start in February with six Y12 BTEC Business and A level Economics and Business students from all Hallows Catholic College being matched with 'Partners in Business'. A Partner in Business is a volunteer who provides a Career Academy student with support, friendship, reinforcement and constructive examples from their experiences that can help students learn. The Partners in Business were formally inducted into The Programme with the support of Ian Nichol, Regional Manager for CAUK before being introduced to the students in The Romero Centre at All Hallows.

Yr10 football Congratulations to the Year 10 football team who have just finished their best season yet. The boys should be proud of all their performances this year. The team reached the last 8 (quarter final stage) of the Cheshire cup - a fantastic achievement with over 40 schools entering. Unfortunately, they were beat by a very strong team from the Wirral. They also reached the final of a very competitive District Cup competition beating Tytherington and Macclesfield Academy on the way. Unfortunately they were beaten by a stronger Wilmslow side on the day following a very competitive match. We'll go one better next year!! Man of the match for the final - Otto Millard. A special mention has to go to Callum Duffield, Simon Kosek, James Warburton and John Spencer who have all had outstanding seasons.

Lenten Fundraising A Big Thank You to all our students for their continued generosity during Lent, you have helped us to raise a further ÂŁ1800 over the past 4 weeks for our India Project. You can follow the Building development on our college Website by clicking on the tab 'Faith and Community' - India

This is the number of parents who have very kindly completed the Parent View questionnaire so far, a rise of 3 since last weeks' newsletter. The previous data was erased when we became and academy and we would be very grateful if as many parents as possible could fill in this on-line form so we can use the information in our college self evaluation and action planning. www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/. This is a key document for OfSTED and we really need your help. Its fantastic news we have reached our target of 100, we are now aiming for 200 before the next half term.

Olympic Legacy Outdoor Gym We are delighted to announce that work has begun on our new Olympic Legacy funded Outdoor Gym. When completed this space will provide another teaching space for physical education - with 18 exercise stations and an extended area for exercise markings. Eventually we hope to have an outdoor cover over the area to make it useable in all weather! If you or anyone you know would like to make a donation we would be very pleased to receive it. We are getting costing's for the project and think we will need to raise around ÂŁ20,000. This would make a great alumni fund-raising project for anyone who has fond memories of their PE at All Hallows! We are also hopeful that the PTA will be able to make a contribution.

Quiz Night Postponed Apologies to anyone who was geared up for the Quiz Night last Friday! The unpredictable weather, and worries about the safety of the icy site meant that the decision was made to cancel. In cases such as these the decision has to be made by the Principal, who is responsible for health and safety. The Principal consults with site staff on the ground and every effort is made to inform organisers as soon as possible. The event, which is eagerly awaited by all, will hopefully be back very soon! We can't wait to pitch teacher teams against brave parents! I want to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Heaton (a.heaton@allhallows.org.uk), Mrs Millward (Chairman) and all members of the parent-teacher association for the fantastic support you give to our college. Mr Billings.
