Prayer Lord Jesus, you came not to be served but to serve. Grant us a servant heart that knows no bounds in our love for you and for one another. Show us how to love just as you love us. Amen
We Are Writers Not so long ago, your son/daughter contributed a poem based on the theme of animals to this year's We Are Writers poetry collection. There are some outstanding examples of the poetic form this time around and it is full to the brim with creativity and imaginative gems which you can keep forever. If you would like to purchase this book, your son/daughter needs to visit the cash office for an order form. Books are £5.99 each and more than one can be purchased (don't leave out aunts, and grandparents now!).
All Hallows says NO to homophobic bullying This week in assembly, all students have considered the issue of homophobic bullying. They have been shown the damaging effects of stereotyping and making assumptions about people. The tragic story of Dominic Crouch, the Cheltenham school boy who took is own life as a result of homophobic bullying has been shared. ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/ society/2012/feb/19/dominic-crouchhomophobic-bullying-suicide). Students have been challenged to think about the power of words to do good or bad and pledged not to use the word 'gay' either casually, or as a derogatory term. Christian teaching on respect for persons has been explored, together with the strong position of the Catholic Church takes against prejudice and discrimination. We have every confidence that our parents will support these values in the home and appreciate the zero tolerance stand we are taking on homophobic, and Indeed, all forms of bullying. Message to students - if you ever feel bullied please do not suffer in silence. Use the bully report e mail bullying@allhallowslearning.org.uk and/or speak to a member of staff right away. Let's keep All Hallows' a place where everyone feels happy.
