On January 11th and April 11th 2016 Children from St Johns were invited to run a mile with Ben Smith is was running 401 marathons in 401 days. Prior to the run Ben spoke to the children about his experiences running 401 marathons and his reasons for doing it. He is raising money for two charities that do work to address the issues around bullying at school and in the work place.
Children at St Johns spent their lunch breaks this year running to Rio De Janeiro. Every break time they could run 1 or 2 miles and this was recorded by the sports ambassadors. Over the year, the school including KS1, KS2, teachers, TA’s and after school staff covered more than 5804 miles. We also raised a considerable amount of money for Save The Children Fund .
