All Hallows Catholic College Farm: Outreach Program All Hallows Catholic College is a voluntary academy situated in Macclesfield, a market town on the edge of the Cheshire plain.

We can offer a number of exciting and educational experiences for your students.

We have students from age 11 to18 years and also work closely with a number of local primary schools.

Within the school grounds we have a farm and garden facility.

We have a wide range of animals that our students can engage with and enjoy. We also have a thriving market garden that supplies produce for a local “box” scheme and has surplus for sale to staff and parents.

On site farm tour Each visit lasts around 2 hours and involves time spent interacting with the animals, learning about them, with an age appropriate outdoor craft or activity. We can individualize your visit to your requirements depending on the age and number of your students.

There is also a small apiary and an apple orchard.

Our students are involved in all aspects of these projects, from feeding and caring for the livestock to helping with the garden, harvesting honey from the hives and planting heritage apple varieties.

The students are also sharing the skills and knowledge they are acquiring: visiting other schools to talk about the apple project; acting as “Animal Ambassadors”; talking to visitors about animal husbandry and showing them round the farm, and working with a local “food cooperative” in the garden.

We have a growing collection of friendly animals, including the ponies Noah and Bailey, George the very friendly (and very noisy) goat, Vinnie the Llama, our rare breed Berkshire pigs and North Ronaldsay sheep.

We also have a variety of smaller animals to captivate your pupils, including rabbits, chickens and ducks, guinea pigs, birds, chinchillas and exotic animals… snakes, lizards, turtles and more!

Farm visits provide endless opportunities to enrich the curriculum and support learning from the early years right up to key stage 4.
