SPECIALISM SUCCESS All Hallows Languages Department is now working closely with the National Association of Language Advisors, with Paul Deay as a resident member. Our partnership will work to share and develop good practise across our Primary Languages provision, especially looking at transition from KS2 to KS3. We look forward to the exciting changes the new curriculum has to offer.

COLLEGE PRAYER Advent Prayer Ever-present God, we thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus, to be God with us, today and always, through Christ Our Lord. Amen Pray for refugees and families

FAMILY HOLIDAY ASSOCIATION PARENTS AS PARTNERS Please can you remind your sons and daughters - blazers must be worn around College. You may take your blazer off in class if you wish. Jumpers can only be removed with permission. It is expected that you will wear full uniform correctly to and from College. Coats should be worn over the blazer. No additional layers eg hoodies should be worn under the blazer. Safeguarding Students must not use or be dropped off at the Brooklands Avenue entrance to reception during College hours. In an emergency, however, parents may be advised to collect their child from the reception area. There are also a few students whose circumstances require that they enter the College through reception. Other than this, students should always be dropped off at the controlled gate (student entrance) adjacent to the turning circle which has a direct link to the attendance office. For example, a student being dropped after registration due to a medical appointment, should be dropped at the turning circle, not reception so that they can enter through the controlled student gate. The front door of the College at reception is a controlled door. Visitors to the College, including parents should always use this entrance which has an intercom and is controlled by the receptionist. All visitors to the College are required to sign in on arrival. We have had several complaints recently from local residents about parents parking outside of their properties to pick up and drop off students. Please can parents avoid this, particularly on Bedford Road? We had one recent complaint about a parent refusing to move their car at the end of the day whilst blocking a driveway. This delayed the resident who was picking up a young child from nursery. We politely ask that parents be considerate with our neighbours. The small number of parents who are still collecting children from the turning circle at the end of the day are once again politely requested not to do this. There is the potential for gridlock and a very small but nevertheless real risk to students if cars are moving around on the turning circle. The alternatives are the roads adjacent to the College eg Cambridge Road where parents are requested to respect the feelings of the local residents and also to not to park too close to the junction. The College has received one or two comments from residents regarding parking across driveways and even rudeness from parents. The College cannot condone such behaviour and would support members of the public who were subjected to inappropriate behaviour.
