All Hallows Catholic College Newsletter Trinity Term Friday 14 July 2017
College Prayer Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life. Prayer focus: Eternal Life Specialism Success Linguistic diversity at All Hallows was celebrated at the Saints Peter and Paul Feast Day masses, where students read bidding prayers in their native languages. Congratulations to Daniela Pinto, Samuel Langer, Viktoria Valova and Anna Veloni for taking part. The summer term is always enriched by many sporting events that demonstrate many of our core values to our students, namely cooperation and respect. Le Tour de France does this to great effect, but can also offer many crosscurricular opportunities. To broaden linguistic horizons, you could engage students through discussion of key vocabulary, le peloton, le pursuivant, etc. in Mathematics you could exploit timings and speeds and in Geography you could discuss the many different types of terrain covered; the opportunities are endless!
