Myth Skipping meals will make me lose weight quicker.

Macronutrients—carbohydrates, fats, and proteins—play crucial roles in fuelling our bodies for exercise and daily activities. Carbohydrates are a primary source of energy, especially during high-intensity exercise, providing quick bursts of power. Fats serve as a secondary energy source, particularly beneficial for endurance activities due to the body’s extensive fat storage. Proteins, while not a primary energy source during exercise, are essential for recovery, building, and maintenance. When pursuing weight loss through dietary changes and increased physical activity, maintaining an active lifestyle can help mitigate the potential drop in metabolic rate associated with weight loss. Food and exercise are pivotal components of a weight loss journey; a well-balanced diet and regular physical activity contribute to a healthy metabolism and overall well-being.

In reality, the effects of meal timing on weight loss can vary among individuals. While some people may find success with intermittent fasting or adjusted meal schedules, others may not. Skipping meals inconsistently, however, can potentially disrupt our metabolic processes. Metabolism involves breaking down molecules for energy, supporting cellular functions, and rebuilding molecules. If we don’t consistently provide our bodies with the necessary nutrients, it can lead to feelings of sluggishness and fatigue, hindering both training and weight loss goals.

Instead of strictly avoiding meals, consider focusing on balanced, nutrient-dense meals throughout the day. However, individual responses to different eating patterns can vary, and it’s advisable to consult with healthcare or nutrition professionals for personalised guidance tailored to your unique circumstances.

Acne affects most people during some point of their life. Early intervention of all acne, regardless of its severity, can reduce scarring.

Acne scarring has two main stages + Hypertonic and keloid scarring - where tissue formation increases. + Atrophic scarring - where there is a loss of tissue. Males have a higher chance of developing persistent acne scars due to their hormones and sebaceous gland structure. Male sebaceous glands are cauliflower shaped and depth dependent, leaving more room for acne to develop.
