Letter from Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter Dear Beloved Church Family, What a joy it is to have you join us for our 38th Annual Church Business meeting. It is God that gives us the ability to move forward in power and strength. Let us never forget the life and commitment of our Servant Leader and Establishmentarian, Bishop Sedgwick Daniels; his legacy will forever be engrafted in this ministry. We are thankful for the extended years of service that he provided to the ministry. The knowledge and training that he imparted shall catapult us to new horizons. As we gather today, I implore you to let the 2024 Theme and Apostolic Proclamation that God relayed to Bishop Daniels resonate within our hearts: “Our Season To Victoriously Build the Kingdom through the Miraculous Power of God.” The scripture of emphasis this year is John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” As we navigate through various challenges, faith becomes our cornerstone and through divine strength, we lay the foundation for a victorious future. We embrace the transformative Power of God’s miracles, forging ahead with purpose and resilience. The key and most critical element is our relationship with God. Our relationship with God allows us to do greater works. Remember, the works are greater because they are done in the aftermath of the final accomplishment of redemption and because of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. When you have the Holy Ghost, you can lead individuals to the finished work of the atonement while sharing with them the true essence of the empty grave and a risen and glorified Savior. In the coming year, we seek to provide Empowerment Training, Ministerial Development, Congregant Connectivity, Spiritual and Motivating Workshops and Retreats. We offer opportunities for all congregants, whether young or old, to engage in “IN PERSON” worship. Let us move forward in unity as we anticipate the divine blessings of the Lord. Together, we will embark upon a journey guided by faith and indued by the unwavering and overarching presence and power of God. It is my hope that our collective efforts bring forth miracles that strengthen our family, community and ministry as we seek to further His kingdom. May the Lord Bless and Strengthen You,

Annual Report 2023
History Bishop Sedgwick Daniels established Holy Redeemer Institutional Church Of God In Christ in May of 1986 with eight (8) parishioners. This congregation enjoyed humble beginnings through meaningful worship and insightful training opportunities in the lower level of Walther Memorial Lutheran School (3205 North 40th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin). This young congregation rapidly outgrew their temporary location and aggressively pursued a permanent sanctuary at 1238 West Atkinson Avenue (Milwaukee, WI) within eight (8) weeks of their inception. Their beautiful and first permanent worship center was historic for congregations in Wisconsin in respect to their organizational date and building acquisition timeline. This trend-setting and progressive advancement became a great inspiration to this congregation, their supporters, and community. Generally, predominantly African-American urban congregations require years of existence, financial accomplishments, and an impressive ministry portfolio prior to financial institutions offering resources or assistance. However, as a direct result of intentional ministry accomplishments, church growth, and realistic programming objectives, various financial institutions and philanthropic contributors began to engage in empowering partnership initiatives. The pastor’s charisma and pro-active vision caused diverse populations to embrace the reality of Holy Redeemer’s enhancing initiatives. Holy Redeemer humbly acknowledges the creation of many of Wisconsin’s Pentecostal historic firsts, which ultimately encircled a plethora of familial reunification and community empowerment programs. This congregation is celebrated globally and recognized as a prototype throughout America for urban non-profit organizations. The conceptualization of trailblazing and empowering strategies afforded Holy Redeemer to establish exceptional educational, societal, economical, familial and spiritual resources, facilities, and consortiums. Although the ministry schematic is extensive and impressive, the evolution of Holy Redeemer’s ministries is a direct result of unfeigned divine intervention, profound vision implementation, consistent strategic evaluation, and uninterrupted team sacrifices. Pro-actively pursuing best practices and corporate execution has yielded stellar results. Holy Redeemer encircles many empowering ministries that has significantly benefited thousands of recipients and established a religious modus operandi for community based urban congregations and various faith-based organizations.

It was designed to preserve the rich tradition of African-American artistic contributions in the performing and visual arts. Its goal is to integrate the arts into academic achievement and performance utilizing science, technology, engineering and mathematics. By preserving diverse musical genres and legendary contributions of African-Americans and through displaying and exhibiting artifacts, paintings and an array of artistic rendering that demonstrates cultural appreciation of the arts, the I-PAMA will advance awareness of the Black artistic journey through a collection of archival displays and historical footages that depicts the African-American artistic sojourn.

Outreach Efforts The essence and quality of Holy Redeemer Church Of God In Christ, is as clear and compelling today as it was in the mid-1980s when 8 families formed a socially-conscious congregation that now includes thousands of committed constituents. Established in 2004, the Mother Daniels Center was also a key component among incremental steps central to actualization of the Holy Redeemer vision: that churches can do more to address issues leading to the transformation of individuals, neighborhoods, and communities. Programs, facilities and future aspirations have expanded consistently over the past 30 years with $25 million invested in infrastructure over that period. The result is an exceptional asset for a community and congregation with proud histories, emerging opportunities, and the potential now to become part of the fabric of Milwaukee’s diverse roster of destination neighborhoods. Overall, program offerings will, over time, have a positive impact on an area of the city with more than 20,000 residents in a 1.7 sq. mile area. The following interrelated affiliates and partnerships are strategically aligned by mission and physically aggregated on our campus to provide comprehensive services to our global community and the residents within our neighborhood. These services include: COGIC Social Services that sponsors our food pantry, nutrition programs, family and youth referral services, marriage counseling, youth ministry, ATODA referrals and family workshops, with over 25 years experience in providing, both independently and via public-private partnerships, educational and direct services to at-risk and underserved youth with licensed and experienced staffers. Holy Redeemer Church of God In Christ Auxiliaries and Ministries that encircle more than 40 offers expansive programs and ministries that build our congregation and our community. Daniels-Mardak Boys and Girls Club serving over 2,000 youth from ages 6-18 years through tutoring, athletic programs, computer training, art instruction and job training. Kathryn T. Daniels Charter School which is a elementary and middle school educational institution serving 225 students from kindergarten through eight grades, with a focus on technology and the arts. Holy Redeemer Christian Academy & Young-Coggs-Williams Academy is a K-12 fully accredited educational institution offering a host of educational services for over 700 students.

Wednesday Bible Study In order for us to achieve our mandate of Kingdom growth, each member is charged for their personal growth. “Nothing beats training”. Bible Study provides an opportunity and forum for intentional training that takes a deeper personal approach for the seeker of insight to turn into action. Bible Study differs from the Sunday Worship experience through the focused instructional method, with tools and time to digest, process and put into action biblical truths and principles. What we know as ‘holiness’ is simply put “behavioral change” and behavior change is the outcome of instruction, and application. Leaders chosen to serve in facilitation roles for Wednesday night Bible Study will be provided instructor guides for delivering God inspired content to members, which creates an ongoing learning and growth plan for attendees. While we invite and welcome weekly facilitators to download and hear from the Lord for their content, it will be guided by a thematic timeline of topics that the ministry leadership team will build and share. The engaging Wednesday night, rich of Godly insight includes: Structured lessons by trained leaders Lesson plans with learning sheets for recording notes in active listening mode of attendees Close out time for “Call to Action’ reflection to ensure grasp and accountability Part of a series of learning for the year, that unfolds the theme Holy Redeemer Institutional Church Of God In Christ

Impact Stories
Brother Rykki Tate, Brother Nicholas Minor Brother Rykki Tate Literally, I had lost my connection with God. I never imagined setting foot in a church again, especially after I stopped going in seventh grade. At that age, things may have seemed boring or uninteresting to me, but as a recent college graduate in 2021, I was seeking direction and a meaningful career to transform my life. A friend, whose cousin was a member at Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ, told me about an opportunity to work for the Christian Academy, and it changed my life. I never would have imagined that moving to Milwaukee would give me a chance to reconnect with God. I never thought I would be able to be around Bishop Daniels, learning and growing under his guidance. I never expected to say that I enjoyed attending church every Sunday and working in ministry, doing all I can to help. It's because of Holy Redeemer, and I don't know where I would be if not for this opportunity. I don't know where my life would be if I hadn't been given the chance to be an educator and make a difference in the lives of so many students every day. As I now enter graduate school, it's because of the push I received here at Holy Redeemer. Thank you for all you have done.
Brother Nicholas Minor I have been a part of Holy Redeemer since my sophomore year in high school. During this time, I was fortunate to be a member of the winning basketball team in 2015 and a student worker for the Pre-Collegiate program. My journey hasn't been without its challenges and missteps, but it's these experiences that have shaped me. Holy Redeemer was instrumental in pushing me toward college, even when I had other plans. Today, I want to express my deepest gratitude to this institution for playing a pivotal role in my life. You might wonder in what way. Well, Bishop Sedgwick Daniels was a constant source of guidance and inspiration. He never gave up on me, constantly reminding me of the importance of faith and a life devoted to God. It was three years ago, when Bishop Daniels asked for my help with certain tasks, that I experienced a profound change. His request led me to find God. Witnessing Bishop Daniels in prayer, studying the Bible, and emphasizing the value of serving God, I found myself rededicating my life to God. I know that God had a plan for me and its because of Holy Redeemer. I’m not going anywhere, you saved my life. Holy Redeemer has truly transformed me, and for that, I am eternally grateful. The impact this church has had is the reason you see me so devoted in service. I am proud to say I am a testament to the positive influence of Holy Redeemer.
