Faculty & Research Excellence

The excellent faculty at LUMS includes 190 PhDs from some of the world’s finest institutions, such as Cambridge, Oxford, MIT, Berkeley, Harvard and Stanford, among others. Regular involvement with international conferences and publications keeps LUMS faculty abreast of global education trends. Moreover, eminent visiting scholars further diversify and enrich the learning experience. LUMS aspires to be a leading think-tank known internationally not only for the dissemination of knowledge, but also for the creation of new ideas and innovations that would have a positive impact on society. The University’s ambitious attitude towards research means that it is constantly investing in world- class facilities. The importance of research is highlighted by the number of grants generated in research funding each year. The University is also committed to ensuring that academic research and learning are not two separate bodies. The research conducted guides learning and ensures that it is up-to-date and relevant.

Campus Facilities

The university campus, spread over 100 acres, includes excellent on-campus accommodation, world class sports facilities, a state-of-the-art library, a variety of dining facilities and much more. Students also benefit from a diverse student body. They have the opportunity to meet people from all over the country and overseas, and learn about other cultures. There is an incredible atmosphere on campus, coupled with convenience and safety for all students. All facilities are a short walk from each other, ensuring that students have easy access to everything they need. The campus is adjacent to the Defence Housing Authority, a well-developed suburb of Lahore with shops, restaurants, hospitals and other facilities. LUMS also offers separate on-campus accommodation for male and female students. There are four residential colleges which comprise of ten residential buildings. Each hostel block offers a friendly and secure environment to its inhabitants, and is equipped with a wide range of facilities including WiFi, TV lounges, laundry rooms, kitchens and easy access to dining facilities. Dedicated hostel staff is accessible to students for help at all times.
