THE Black JEWEL OF ARABIAN HORSE BREEDING

In the world of Arabian horses-where elegance, heritage, and charisma are paramount-few stallions have captured the imagination of breeders and enthusiasts quite like Magic Magnifique.

With his striking black coat, sculpted head, and ethereal presence, this Arabian stallion has earned a reputation as one of the most captivating sires of his generation.

Magic

magnifiQue

The story of Magic Magnifique starts in Italy in 2011 with his breeder Guiseppe Fontanella of Magic Arabians. He is the son of True Colours and out of the incredible mare Magic Mon Amour, which gives him an unique and highly desirable pedigree. His lineage combines the type and beauty of the straight Egyptian bloodlines with the charisma and motion of modern show horses. Already as a young colt, Magic Magnifique was discovered by Kathleen Olsen who guided Magic Magnifique on his first steps in the world of Arabian Horse breeding. It was under her guidance that Magic Magnifique flew to the US and became the 2014 Gold Champion Egyptian Heritage Stallion.

However it was his abilities as a sire that made Magic Magnifique stand out from the rest.

As his production grew, so did his reputation. Magic Magnifique has left an indelible mark on the international Arabian horse breeding community. He has been used by breeders across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, producing foals that inherit his type, color, and undeniable presence.

In 2020 he sired the colt WF Gawin who then continued to be the European Gold Champion yearling colt as well as winning Bronze with the junior colts at the World Championships in 2023. Though currently

Magic magnifiQue

on a breeding lease in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he is scheduled to return for the upcoming breeding season, ready once again to leave his mark on the next generation of Arabian excellence.

Today, Magic Magnifique remains active and highly sought-after as a breeding stallion. His ability to consistently pass on his beauty, type, and unmistakable charisma keeps him in high demand among top breeders worldwide.

Since 2021, he has called Obi Training Center his home, where he continues to impress visitors with his regal presence.

Whether in the breeding barn or under the lights of a show arena, Magic Magnifique lives up to his name-he is truly magical and magnificent. q

A LEGACY ETCHED IN TIME

In the heart of the Belgian countryside, where quiet lanes wind through green fields and time seems to pause for breath, stands one of the most respected Arabian horse breeding programmes in Europe: Jadem Arabians. Founded in 1978 by Christine and Guy Jamar, Jadem is more than a farm - it is the embodiment of a lifelong vision. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a name synonymous with quality, consistency, and a reverence for the breed’s classical form.

For nearly five decades, Christine JamarDemeersseman has been a defining figure in the Arabian horse world - an accomplished breeder, respected international judge, and passionate student of the breed. Her journey was never one of shortcuts or overnight success. Instead, it was forged through relentless observation, tireless dedication, and a determination to remain faithful to the Arabian horse’s functional beauty.

Christine and Guy Jamar

In Pursuit of Purpose

With the determination of a pioneer and the curiosity of a student, Christine travelled the length and breadth of Belgium and the Netherlands, seeking the mares upon which she would build her future. It was in the north of Holland that she found them - the foundation stones of Jadem Arabians, and with them, the first verses of a lifelong ode to the breed.

Christine, the driving spirit behind Jadem, recalls with disarming honesty, “We didn’t start with perfect horses. We had some nice mares, but not the top.” And yet, it is precisely this unassuming beginning that makes the ensuing decades all the more remarkable. With no shortcut, no lavish foundation herd, only unwavering devotion and a keen eye, Christine built an empire - one that would help shape the global Arabian landscape.

What set Christine apart from the outset was not just a keen eye for structure or motion, but an intuitive understanding of balance between type and correctness, power and grace. As her small herd grew, so too did her ambition. The original breeding program at Jadem Arabians drew from Russian, Crabbet, and other bloodlines, but it was a formative journey in 1982 that would forever shape Jadem’s destiny: Christine’s first visit to the Polish state studs. There, among the timeless

EKSTERN (Monogramm x Ernestyna)
Ph. Annette Mattsson

mares of Janów Podlaski and Michałów, Christine encountered a breeding philosophy steeped in tradition and focused on long-term type retention, structure, and athleticism. It was a revelation.

“It was in Poland,” Christine recalled, “where seventy percent or more of the horses were just what I was looking for.” In the noble silhouettes of Michałów’s mares and the trotting elegance of Janów Podlaski’s fillies, she saw the blueprint of greatness. These mares were not just beautiful - they were functional, enduring, and steeped in a heritage forged by survival and selection. From that moment on, Christine’s heart was irrevocably bound to the Polish bloodlines.

Seizing the Moment

Opportunity and intuition collided in 1990 when the American Arabian horse market faltered under tax reforms. Christine seized the moment, acquiring eleven mares and a stallion in California, all bearing esteemed Polish pedigrees. Among these were the magnificent Morning Light VF (Bandos - First Light by Dar) and the regal Akcja (Bandos - Arba by Comet), a full sister to the legendary Arra, Polish National Champion Mare and Poland’s Triple Crown winner.

These mares would become more than names in a studbook - they became the foundation stones upon which Christine built a vision. Morning Light and Akcja produced eight foals between them, each echoing the nobility and type that had drawn Christine to Poland in the first place. Over the years, the Belgian breeder became a fixture at the Polish Nationals and the Pride of Poland Sale. Though her first Polish-blooded purchases came from the United States and Denmark, from that point onward, all additions to her broodmare band were sourced directly from Poland.

The impact of these acquisitions was immediate and enduring. Christine focused on improving type while preserving correct structure and movement. Her vision was uncompromising: she did not breed to chase trends

but to cultivate the image of the Arabian horse she held in her mind - one that could move as beautifully under saddle as it could dazzle in the show ring.

Balance Before Beauty

Breeding, Christine reflects, is an intricate art - a delicate combination of patience, knowledge, and an unwavering eye for form. While she appreciates refinement and attitude, she never allows type to override structure. “The Arabian horse must first be correct,” she asserts, “for only from correctness can true beauty arise.” In her eyes, refinement, elegance, and grace are never to be achieved at the expense of conformation or soundness. The horse, noble as it is, must remain a horse - capable, balanced, and deserving of both admiration and purpose.

The perfect horse, Christine muses, may forever remain a dream, an ethereal silhouette in the breeder’s imagination. Yet it is precisely this unattainable ideal that fuels the breeder’s noble pursuit - the unending quest to bring forth a creature as close to perfection as nature, knowledge, and perseverance allow.

It is this philosophy that has shaped Jadem Arabians, where every breeding decision is guided by wisdom and restraint. The stallions that grace the stud’s pastures are not chosen by fleeting fashion or whim, but by their ability to enhance and elevate - to bring balance where it is lacking, to lend refinement without fragility. Breeding, as Christine knows all too well, is a symphony of compromise and hope, where one selects carefully and waits, trusting that time and nature will reveal the masterpiece.

But Christine’s breeding programme is not defined by stallions alone. It is the mares - the heart of any great stud - that weave the enduring tapestry of excellence at Jadem Arabians. Through generations of careful stewardship, Christine has cultivated not merely horses, but families - living legacies that embody the essence of the Arabian breed.

The Mares Who Made the Dream

Christine’s approach to her broodmare band was never about volume - it was about value. Each mare brought into the Jadem programme was selected with precision and paired with stallions that further contributed to the enhancement of structural correctness, breed type, and overall refinement.

Christine’s selection of mares is driven by a deep reverence for time-tested dam lines, especially those of Polish and Egyptian origin. She seeks mares that exhibit both classic Arabian refinement and the substance needed for lasting impact. Characteristics such as expressive eyes, feminine heads, fluid movement, and charismatic presence are essential - but so is the capacity for generational consistency. At Jadem, mares must not only shine themselves; they must produce foals that follow in their footsteps.

Among the earliest and most influential mares in the programme was Morning Light VF, foaled in 1985 and tracing to the revered Polish Mlecha DB line. A daughter of Bandos and First Light (by Dar), she anchored a dynasty at Jadem. Her daughters Starlight

GOMERA J (Ekstern x Georgia)
MARRAKECH J (Emerald J x Ja Ultima). Ph. Alessio Azzali

(by Pegaz) and Mysterious Lady J (by Ekstern) carried forward her legacy with elegance and strength. Through Starlight came Mauhiba J (by Ekstern), a two-time National Champion in Saudi Arabia and one of Jadem’s most influential broodmares. Mauhiba produced Magnificent Lady J (by Extreme), dam of major winners like Mississippi J (by QR Marc), Morgan J, and Merida J (both by Emerald J), all of whom have won prestigious titles across Europe.

Mauhiba’s other daughters, including Mojita J (by QR Marc) and Midnight Kiss J (by Extreme), have themselves become prolific producers. Midnight Kiss J is the dam of D Aziza (by Ajman Moniscione), the internationally acclaimed mare who was World Silver Champion and Menton Gold Champion Senior Mare. Through this maternal line, Jadem has produced generations of award-winning individuals, showing exceptional type, movement, and broodmare strength.

The line of Mysterious Lady J, a daughter of Ekstern out of Morning Light VF, also continues to thrive. Her daughter Maja J (by Extreme) is the dam of Melody J (by Emerald J), a multiple European medallist, and Montana J (by Shiraz de Lafon), 2019 AHO Gold

ENIDA J (Royal Asad x Elgazonda). Ph. Glenn Jacobs
PARIS J (Emerald J x Palabra). Ph. Gregor Aymar

Champion Yearling Filly. This branch exemplifies Christine’s goal: to build maternal families that breed true, generation after generation.

The second great maternal pillar of Jadem is Georgia (Eukaliptus – Galia by Gil), another product of the meritorious Mlecha DB family. Georgia’s influence runs deep through daughters like Glamour Girl J (by QR Marc) and Gomera J (by Ekstern). Glamour Girl has produced multiple champion colts, while her daughter Glamour J (by Cavalli) has continued this line with prize-winning fillies like Ghazala J and Gisela J (both by AJ Marzan).

Another well-established family at Jadem stems from the distinguished Polish dam line of Ukrainka, celebrated for its beauty and performance. This esteemed lineage continues through two elegant daughters of Emerald J: the 2017 grey Furla J (out of Fudala J by Ekstern), and the 2013 fleabitten grey Dalia J (out of Danuta DE by Ekstern). Dalia’s legacy extends through her 2017 grey daughter Dana J, sired by Excalibur EA. Though deeply rooted in athleticism and performance, all three mares have also earned distinction in halter competition. Furla J earned early acclaim in 2018 as Bronze Champion Yearling Filly at the AHO Breeders’ Championship in

MELILLA HVP (Thee Apprentice x Tawani HVP).

NOORA J (Emerald J x Noft Al Nayfat). Ph. Alessio Azzali

Chantilly, followed by Belgian National Gold Champion Junior Filly title later that year. Dalia J impressed in 2015 as Silver Champion Junior Filly in Deauville and went on to win Gold and Best in Show at the Arabian Horse Weekend. Dana J, the most decorated of the trio, earned top honours as 2018 Silver Champion Junior Filly in Ströhen, 2018 Gold Champion Yearling Filly at the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival, Gold Champion Yearling Filly and Best in Show at the 2018 Arabian Horse Weekend, and Bronze Champion Junior Filly at the 2020 European Championships.

Alongside cultivating strong foundation families, Christine actively broadens Jadem Arabians’ genetic diversity by introducing select new bloodlines. Among them is the exceptional fleabitten grey Marrakech J (Emerald J - JA Ultima by Besson Carol), a superb blend of Polish and Egyptian heritage. A highly decorated show mare, Marrakech J has earned numerous international titles, including Gold Champion Junior Filly at the 2016 AHO Breeders’ Championship, Bronze at the 2020 European Championships, and Gold and Best in Show at the 2022 Sopot Arabian Horse Show, alongside multiple national titles.

Another rising star is the elegant bay mare Noora J 2020, by Emerald J out of the acclaimed Noft Al Nayfat (by Ajman Moniscione), herself a two-time World Championships podium finisher. With her blend of Egyptian and Russian bloodlines, Noora J has already claimed titles such as Bronze Champion Junior Filly at both the 2022 Prague European Cup and 2023

Belgian Nationals, marking her as both a promising show contender and valuable addition to the breeding programme.

Among the foundation mares of Jadem Arabians, Elegantkah (Gwizd - Eminencja by Algomej) holds a special place. Foaled in 1994 and descending from the esteemed Wołoszka dam line, this decorated bay mare reflects Christine’s belief that every great sire is backed by an exceptional dam. Though she left no daughters at the stud, her legacy continues through her influential son, Extreme 1999 (by Ararat), whose daughters have significantly shaped Jadem’s breeding programme.

From the legendary Morning Light VF to rising stars like Noora J and Dana J, the broodmares of Jadem Arabians embody the stud’s ethos: timeless elegance, structural excellence, and generational strength. Christine’s success lies in her intuitive ability to match pedigree with phenotype, to blend performance with refinement, and to nurture not just show winners, but lasting legacies.

Ekstern: The Polish Icon Who Redefined Jadem Arabians

Then came 1999, and with it, a stallion who would change everything - not only for Jadem, but for the breed as a whole. It was during a frigid Polish winter in Michałów that fate introduced Christine to Ekstern - a dark grey 5-year-old stallion, no more than a bundle of

MOUNA J (Morion x Mississippi J). Ph. Glenn Jacobs
MISSISSIPPI J (Qr Marc x Magnificent Lady J). Ph. Gregor Aymar

winter fur, yet already carrying within him the promise of greatness. A son of the immortal Monogramm and the quietly noble Ernestyna (Piechur - Erwina by Palas), Ekstern was unlike anything Christine had seen before. He stood out even among Poland’s finest. His dark eyes, his proud carriage, his spirit - all whispered to Christine of possibilities yet unseen. Defying doubts and convention, she brought him to Jadem, where his impact was swift and profound. Through him, her mares were transformed; through him, her dreams found shape.

Ekstern’s tenure at Jadem was the beginning of a golden age. Unbeaten in the show ring, he captured hearts as easily as he captured trophies. Under the legendary guidance of Erik Dorssers, Ekstern became an undefeated champion, sweeping the European Triple Crown and culminating in victory at the Mercedes Diamond Cup. There, in a show reserved only for former world champions, Ekstern trotted into the ring one final time, winning the championship unanimously. Retiring undefeated, he exited the arena with the grace and grandeur of a legend. However, Ekstern’s contribution to Jadem Arabians went beyond trophies and titles because Ekstern was more than a show icon - he was a genetic powerhouse. And for Christine, his influence would become a cornerstone in her pursuit of breeding excellence.

Ekstern’s truest value lay in the legacy he left through his offspring. “His foals were like him,” Christine explains, “especially when crossed with daughters of Bandos and Eukaliptus - the very mares I had in my herd. It was a perfect match.” Ekstern did not merely sire horses; he elevated them, adding correctness, charisma, and conformation in equal measure. Ekstern’s foals carried not only his striking phenotype - refined heads, expressive eyes, and elegant movement - but also the intangible charisma that made him stand out from the crowd.

Ekstern daughters formed the backbone of Jadem’s mare band for years to come. When bred to Christine’s homebred stallions Extreme and Emerald J, they produced generation after generation of correct, expressive, and refined Arabians. Ekstern daughters became the living embodiment of Christine’s philosophy: horses with elegance and grace, yet sound enough to be ridden.

Christine’s decision to repeatedly lease Ekstern demonstrates the immense value she placed on his genetic power. His blood continues to run strong in many of Jadem’s top mares and young prospects, shaping their elegance, movement, and temperament. He brought the refinement of Polish breeding, the charisma of the great Monogramm line, and the reliable

EKSTERN World Champion Stallion, Paris 2000. Ph. Irina Filsinger

predictability of a sire whose foals rarely disappointed.

In the words of those who knew him, Ekstern was ‘one in a million’. At Jadem Arabians, he was the right stallion at the right time - an instrument of transformation whose daughters and granddaughters continue to enrich one of Europe’s most respected Arabian programmes. His legacy at Jadem lives on - not just in bloodlines and ribbons, but in the vision he helped Christine Jamar realize: to build a breeding programme defined by enduring quality, unmistakable type, and timeless Arabian beauty.

Ekstern became not only a cornerstone of Christine’s programme but an enduring presence in her heart. His victories were shared triumphs, his brilliance a daily reminder of the rewards of belief and patience. “He saved my breeding programme,” Christine confesses with quiet reverence - not as a boast, but as a tribute to a stallion who embodied the ideal she has spent a lifetime pursuing.

But Christine was not one to rest on laurels. As Ekstern returned to Poland, her breeding program moved forward with renewed vigour. Jadem’s next chapter would be written by homebred stars such as Extreme and, most significantly, Emerald J, the result of a bold embryo purchase from World Champion mare Emandoria and the American-bred sire QR Marc.

Emerald J: The Pride and Pinnacle of Jadem Arabians

With the purchase of the precious embryo of Emandoria, Christine had hoped for a filly, a successor to the Emigracja line she adored. Instead, she received a colt who would surpass every expectation. Christine’s vision was never simply to own a beautiful horse. Her aim was clear: to elevate Jadem Arabians’ breeding programme to a new level of excellence. Emerald J would go on to fulfil that ambition in ways few could have predicted.

EMERALD J

(Qr Marc x Emandoria)

Ph. Alessio Azzali

Though modest in appearance as a foal, Emerald J underwent a remarkable transformation as he matured - growing into a charismatic, masculine stallion of exceptional type and conformation. He would become a decorated show champion with titles that included Dubai International Gold Champion, PSAIAHF Gold Champion, Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival Unanimous Gold Champion, Chantilly World Cup Gold Champion, All Nations Cup Silver Champion, and his crowning achievement - the coveted PSAIAHF Platinum Champion Senior Stallion title in 2023.

But his most enduring legacy would not come from the show ring - it would be built through his offspring. Christine made a strategic decision early on to focus Emerald’s energy not solely on shows, but on breeding. The results speak for themselves: Emerald J has become a sire of sires and a producer of mares of the highest calibre, not only for Jadem Arabians but for breeders worldwide. Yet it is within the barns of Jadem that his influence is most profound.

Shaping the Future: From Emerald J to Gallardo J and Beyond

One of his earliest and most celebrated sons is Gallardo J, out of Gomera J. Bred at Jadem, Gallardo took the show world by storm, claiming numerous major titles, including World Gold Champion Junior Colt. This strategic fusion of Ekstern and Eukaliptus lineshallmarks of Jadem’s programme - culminated in a spectacular double victory at the prestigious Dubai International Show, where both Emerald J and Gallardo J stood atop the podium; father and son crowned gold champions in the same year. “To witness father and son, side by side, both victorious - it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment.” Christine admits with pride. It was not merely a victory; Gallardo, as a fifth-generation product of Jadem’s own breeding, symbolized the success of Christine’s long-term vision.

Another outstanding son of Emerald J, who stands as a testament to his sire’s legacy and Christine’s continued achievements, is Muranas Nader - a young colt whose

EMERALD J (QR Marc x Emandoria) and GALLARDO J (Emerald J x Gomera J) both Gold Champions, Dubai 2015

very presence reflects the fulfilment of carefully guided ambition. Bred by Michaela Weidner of Murana Arabian Stud in Germany, Nader is the product of an artful union: his dam, Muranas Nabila, was entrusted to Jadem Arabians for an embryo to be sired by Emerald J. What emerged was no ordinary foal, but a creature touched with the elegance that define the finest bloodlines of the Arabian breed.

Even as a new-born, Nader’s presence was impossible to ignore - his carriage proud, his movement light as wind upon the sand, his commanding charisma reminiscent of his spectacular sire. Captivated by early glimpses of his spirit and form, Christine journeyed to Germany to witness him herself. It was there that she recognized not merely a colt, but the unfolding of potential shaped by generations of careful breeding. Though initially intended for a client in Saudi Arabia, hesitation on their part gave way to fate - and to Christine and her husband, Guy, seizing the moment. Their decision marked Guy’s first foray into ownership of a show horse, a bold act that would soon bear golden fruit.

At the 2021 Katara International Arabian Horse Festival in Qatar, Muranas Nader emerged as Gold Champion

Junior Colt, claiming the hearts of seven out of eight discerning judges. His triumph was all the more poignant as he was the youngest in his class at only 17 months of age. For Christine, the victory resonated beyond personal pride; it was a vindication of vision, a testament to the harmony of unwavering belief and hard-earned expertise.

Beyond Gallardo J and Muranas Nader, Emerald J has sired a distinguished group of Jadem-bred female champions who have come to embody the stud’s identity. This includes the aforementioned Marrakech J, Melody J, Noora J, and Furla J, as well as Mounira J, the 2018 European Gold Champion Junior Filly, and Paris J, a gold medallist at the 2015 AHO Breeders’ Championship in Chantilly - all of whom have brought considerable distinction to the Jadem name on prominent international stages.

More importantly, Emerald J’s daughters have matured into exceptional broodmares - a vital indicator of lasting breeding influence. Emerald J’s legacy extends beyond producing champions; he consistently passes on his finest qualities - type, charisma, conformation, and presence - making his bloodline synonymous with enduring excellence at Jadem Arabians.

Christine’s original vision was to enhance and refine her programme with a stallion capable of imparting lasting quality, and Emerald J fulfilled that goal. As a sire, he has proven to be not only prolific but transformational. His genetic impact is evident in the remarkable uniformity of excellence among his progeny - his ‘stamp’ unmistakable, whether in a colt dominating the show ring or a mare raising champions of her own.

In Christine’s own words, the embryo that became Emerald J was purchased with hope - but it is through unwavering faith in her breeding instincts and the strength of vision that Jadem Arabians gained its defining figure. Emerald J has not only elevated the programme - he has become its symbol, its ambassador, and its enduring foundation.

Today, Jadem Arabians continues to thrive on the strength of his legacy. And while his offspring win titles across continents, it is within the quiet fields and foaling barns of Belgium that Emerald J’s influence is most deeply felt. With each generation bearing his imprint, the future of Jadem Arabians remains bright - glowing with the emerald brilliance of a stallion who truly lives up to his name.

What began in the quiet countryside of Balen has grown

into one of Europe’s most respected private Arabian breeding programmes - built not on trends or luck, but on the enduring pillars of passion, perseverance, and profound respect for the Arabian horse. Today, Jadem Arabians is a beacon in European breeding. With approximately 65 horses and an annual foal crop of over twenty, the farm is among the largest private Arabian operations on the continent. And yet, every decision, every pairing, every birth, is guided by an almost sacred commitment to quality.

Horses destined for the show ring are entrusted to the capable hands of Dave De Jong, but only in modest numbers. “We don’t want more than 30 horses in training at any time,” Christine emphasizes. “They deserve individual care and attention - and so do we.”

Beyond breeding, Jadem is equally revered for its state-of-the-art Stallion Centre, founded in 1990, long before such operations were commonplace in Europe. Christine was among the first in Belgium to begin collecting semen for international distribution. “The King of Morocco even sent me his black stallion, Imperial Mashar,” she shares with quiet pride. That early vote of confidence set the stage for what would become

a global stallion management enterprise.

Today, the Stallion Centre manages six to seven outside stallions at any given time. But numbers are deliberately kept low - quality and individual care are paramount. “Each stallion that comes here receives more than just technical management,” Christine explains. “We develop them. We nurture them. We promote them in a way that highlights their unique strengths.”

Indeed, the approach is holistic: each stallion’s campaign begins with smaller, carefully chosen shows before progressing to the larger European stage. Christine and her team handle everything - from professional photography and digital marketing to press releases and public presentations.

Thrice a year - at the dawn of the breeding season in March, the day after the Global Champions Arabians Tour in Valkenswaard in July, and again in September, just before the Aachen championships - Jadem opens its gates for public presentations. These are not mere exhibitions, but rituals of revelation, where breeders can see the stallions live, feel their presence, and assess their potential in person. “People want to see the stallion with

GISELA J (Aj Marzan x Glamour J). Ph. Alessio Azzali
MABROUKA J (Morion x Miami J). Ph. Alessio Azzali

their own eyes,” Christine notes with a smile. “Europeans don’t breed to a stallion they haven’t seen. That’s why these presentations are so important.”

From the majestic trot of Ekstern, to the regal bearing of Emerald J, and the promise of tomorrow’s colts and fillies, the Stallion Centre stands as a living monument to Christine’s devotion - not only to her own breeding programme but to the advancement of the breed at large.

A Story Still Unfolding

Today, Christine Jamar’s name is whispered with reverence in the realm of Arabian horse breeding. Her mares carry the blood of Poland’s finest. Her stallions have graced the world’s grandest arenas. And yet, Christine remains grounded, always looking forward, always searching for that next perfect cross, that next spectacular foal who might one day steal the show - and perhaps her heart. Christine, a woman of remarkable resolve, has dedicated her life to the art and responsibility of breeding - shaping not merely horses, but a legacy that will ripple through generations yet to come.

Her success, however, has never dulled her humility. Christine speaks not only of victories, but of lessons

NAHLAH J (D Seraj x Noora J). Ph. Alessio Azzali
MAJIDAH J (Muranas Nader x Moana J). Ph. Alessio Azzali

hard-won: of the careful dance between type and conformation, of the fine line between refinement and function, of the quiet understanding that a horse, no matter how beautiful, must first be a horse, not a mere ornament of the show ring.

Her eye for conformation, honed through years of study and tutelage under sport horse judges, is matched only by her instinct - that subtle, unspoken dialogue between breeder and horse. She reads their language not in words, but in posture, in movement, in the quiet flicker of their gaze. It is, perhaps, her greatest gift - an intuitive connection that no manual can teach.

Jadem Arabians, born from Christine’s passion and dedication, is far more than just a stud; it is a sanctuary for the finest representatives of the Arabian breed - a place where dreams are forged into flesh, and the lessons of history are preserved within each noble lineage. Jadem’s story is not merely one of horses and breeding - it is a narrative of passion, perseverance, and profound vision. In Christine Jamar’s capable hands, what began as a dream in a small Belgian town has become a cornerstone of the Arabian breed, shaping the future with every foal born under its name.

As Jadem approaches half a century of excellence, its

legacy is written not only in show ring triumphs but in the hearts of breeders worldwide. From Poland’s war-tested broodmares to the Belgian meadows where dreams take root, Jadem Arabians remains a living monument to the unrelenting pursuit of the ideal Arabian horse.

As the brilliant Belgian breeder looks towards the horizon, the future gleams with promise. Christine dreams of refining her herd further, of welcoming foals that edge ever closer to her vision of the perfect Arabian. “I always seek improvement,” Christine reflects, “and I wish I get closer and closer to the vision of an ideal Arabian horse that I have had in my head for a while.” And as each new foal hits the ground, that vision takes one step closer to reality.

Through decades of shifting trends and evolving type, Jadem Arabians has remained true to a single principle: refinement without compromise. For in the world of Arabian horses, where bloodlines trace histories and conformation speaks of generations past, there are breeders and then there are visionaries. Christine JamarDemeersseman belongs firmly among the latter. Under her thoughtful stewardship, the legacy of the Arabian horse has not only been preserved but elevated. In every dark-eyed foal that greets the dawn, in every elegant silhouette that graces the show ring, Christine’s dream endures - a reminder that true beauty is not stumbled upon, but carefully, lovingly, and unwaveringly bred. q

“Do what you love to do with all your heart and force … and never give up!”
Emotional and inspiring talk with Annette Escher, the woman who keep fulfilling her dreams and reach the success no matter what comes the way.
by Urszula Łęczycka
photos by Annette & Erwin Escher

Urszula Łęczycka: Your farm has been established more than 30 years ago by you and your husband Erwin. Nowadays you run it all by yourself and Straight Egyptian horses with GR prefix are worldwide known. You also run one of the largest Straight Egyptian black coloured herds in the world –that is in high demand nowadays.

Can you tell us more about the idea of establishing your breeding program? Was it the same from the beginning or it has been changing through the years and following the market?

What were your first horses and where did you get them from?

Annette Escher: We started our Straight Egyptian breeding with a small number of horses several years before we could buy the right place and built “Rothenberg Stud” in 1991. In 1992 the stud and pastures was ready and we moved our horses to here … from this time, having place enough, we were looking for the right additions and after we haven’t found most of them in Europe (there was only few Egyptians in Germany / Europe at this time and nearly nothing for sale) we went several times

to USA looking at studs and horses driving thousands of miles weekly. During this time we found and bought the foundation horses for my recent breeding, so the mares like: Halims Asmara (Ansata Halim Shah x Lancers Asmara- US National Top Ten and twice World Res. Champion mare), Dalima Shah (Ansata Halim Shah x AK Bint Dalia II), Ansata Aya Maria (Ansata Shah Zaman x Ansata Aya Halima by Ansata Ibn Halima) –Bukra line and the black Champion mare Maria Halima (Haziz Halim x Chelsea), Then we found the black mare Fasinah (Nahaman x Fatima) in Germany and before 1992 we already have owned the mare Samara (Ibn Moheba x Safiniya by Ibn Galal), I still own her black great-granddaughter GR Samantha which meanwhile is mother herself!

Over the years we sometimes leased a mare or made breeding-cooperation to add foals out of interesting mothers and motherlines – this way we bred our „Queen“ GR Nashidah (by Classic Shadwan) which is the mother of black gold-premium stallion GR Nashad (exp. Kuwait, by GR Faleeh) as well as the black mare GR Layla (by GR Faleeh) who is the mother of our young

After we moved to Rothenberg Stud we also bought our foundationstallions: Classic Shadwan (Alidaar x Shagia Bint Shadwan imp. Egypt) which we found in France was four years old at this time and the black Madallan-Madheen; when we heard about a very special black colt being born 1994 out of special

bloodlines we quickly went to see him, and we bought him in age of 6 weeks! He was the very first foundation for our black breeding! Madallan-Madheen was not bred to get black, his parents were chestnut (his father Ansata El Salaam) and bay (the famous mare Madinah, mother of Imperial Madheen) but he got black “by accident” and was just bred to be a great horse … and got a rare gold premium ribbon from the

Most of our early blacks were out of non black lines … blacks were seldom and good blacks even more and usually they were impossible to buy! Since I was a child I always was a big fan of black horses but Erwin mostly loved the greys - in the end we love all colors so we only had a few blacks in the first years.

Over the years we got more and more black foals (also Classic Shadwan produced fantastic blacks) and after more than 30 years I have managed to get fantastic blacks from all our foundation-horses … for several I needed generations but meanwhile I have a fantastic group of black and black producing broodmares, many are already 4th and 5th generation of our foundation-mares!

But color was not most important all the time – we both loved pretty exotic faces, good (proven) Straight Egyptian

pedigrees and as we also were riders since the beginning we wanted to have a solid horse with good body, legs and movements which are able to carry us over the fields! The goal was not to lose any of this points over the years … type, body, movement … and most important at all the fantastic, people loving sweet character the Egyptians are famous for.

UŁ: Straight Egyptian breeding is one of most difficult ones as you must use a very limited gene pool that creates some problems in avoiding inbreeding and breeding overall harmonius and typey horse. Limiting the Straight Egyptian breeding to black colour group only must be even more challenging. How do you find your way to keep breeding beautiful and correct horses with such a limited requirements?

AE: Most of our foundation horses were not bred to get black

which means they had a bigger gene-pool as if we would bought mostly blacks in the beginning … there were only very few black and black producing lines at this time which already often were inbred. And over the years we always were open to use sometimes outside stallions doesn’t matter the color like World Champion Al Lahab if we thought they would bring us something new in blood and look … in my recent herd I have great mares from this line! We always used the Straight Egyptian bloodlines we liked personally not looking for trends and what other breeders prefer … we went our own way for our own taste and what we loved ourselves!

UŁ: Did you manage to combine your goals of having the bloodlines, the strenght, stamina and also the colour and then keep into the fashion to win the show titles? It had to be extremely difficult task..

AE: Over the years we often showed our horses and many of our foundation horses and their offspring got MultiChampions and gold premium stallions. For example Dalima Shah and her daughter Shadwanah (by Classic Shadwan) as well as Halims Asmara and her son GR Amaretto (by Classic Shadwan) won among other titles the champion titles at the Egyptian Event Europe. Also our first homebred black mares

GR Marietta and GR Marianah (both Madallan-Madheen x Maria Halima) won several championships which was very special at this time as nearly no blacks was shown successfully! Also later our black stallion GR Faleeh (exported to Kuwait;

We sold and I still sell my foals nearly all over the world and many of them won and win a lot for their new owners– many champion titles in halter classes as well as endurance races or riding classes.

Our sold horses live around the world as breeding-horses and produce fantastic foals for their new owners … or are just best friends and great riding-horses to give their new owners fun and happy hours.

We also bred several gold premium stallions at the stallion registration of the registry, for me one of the most difficult gold to get at all!

We got gold premium titles for GR Amaretto (exported to Iran, Classic Shadwan x Halims Asmara by Ansata Halim Shah), his ¾-brother Maheeb (black; Classic Shadwan x Bint Bint Mahiba by Ansata Halim Shah) and for the other black stallions GR Nashad (exported to Kuwait; GR Faleeh x GR Nashidah by Classic Shadwan), his black son at stud GR Ishad (GR Nashad x Shaylah Bint Iman by Classic Shadwan) and also for our young black stallion GR Fasin (Maheeb x our foundation-mare Fasinah by Nahaman). big hope to continue this fantastic row with my promising young black stallion GR Layad (GR Ishad x GR Layla by GR Faleeh) in the future! He also is homozygous without any white markings and have an extremly dishy head – he is the future of Rothenberg Stud! Meanwhile the first mares are in foal to him and I eagerly wait to see his first foals next year!

UŁ: Did you manage to establish some dam and sire lines of your own that you admire until that day and continue?

AE: All of my recent breeding-horses come in direct line from our early foundation horses – and all of them carry either the blood of Classic Shadwan or Madallan-Madheen or both of them!

Over the years I managed to breed fantastic blacks from all of the foundation-mares which made me very happy and proud and I love to see that the sold ones make their new owners happy, too.

UŁ: here is probably no Arabian horse lover in Europe that would not know the photos made by your husband Erwin who passed away 9 years ago. Since that time you keep running the farm by your own with just one helper. Your strenght, passion and achievements could be an inspiration for many woman or girls who dream or run the horse breeding on their own for different reasons.

It must be hard, emotional but probably also satisfying when you manage to breed a great horse at the end? What would you say and advice to the other woman – breeders?

AE: Yes, the death of Erwin for sure was the most terrible time in my life, I thought my life have stopped, too. But the horses helped me a lot because giving up is no solution, you have to go on day by day, they wait for you, they need you!  Additionally, Erwins second favorite mare GR Asmara (GR Lahab x Halims’s Asmara) died a few days after him because of problems after giving birth and let her newborn filly GR

Bint Asmara (by GR Moneef) alone with me. This baby nearly died as well because of substitute milk so I needed to take milk from other mares to feed this baby … you can imagine that I nearly had no time to sleep over months which was very hard but maybe also good for me in this situation. My only aim was that we both need to survive …and we did! Meanwhile GR Bint Asmara gave birth to already four wonderful black fillies by GR Ishad herself which was sold in and outside Europe and one of her black fillies even won Championships for her new owner … all this made me very happy and gave me force to continue!

My advice is to do what you love with all your heart and soul... and never give up!

There are always good and bad times in our lifetime… you need to survive the bad time and grow yourself in the good time and take it into your heart for the future. Like when

Madallan-Madheen

And every new birth when mother and baby are well – just a wonder every time! As a breeder you mostly look forward into the future for the next breedings and the next foals, this keep you running, don’t look back too much! Just important that you love what you do … then even the work makes you happy!!!

UŁ: What an amazing story and the best proof to your words of advice that I would certainly put as a title of this interview! I wish you all the best of luck on reaching your future goals and of course – with mostly those great and happy moments for every breeder.

THOSE WHO LOVE, PROTECT. TO PROTECT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FORM OF THE VERB 'TO LOVE. Bruno ferrero

H O W W E C A N

H E L P Y O U

The horse is a majestic animal, gifted with extraordinary physical strength. This is not always a positive trait For example, a horse could unintentionally injure or even kill a human being with its hooves when kicking out to get rid of an annoying insect Falls, by both amateur or professional riders, can also cause serious injuries. Also, if a horse escapes fro field onto a road it could c injury or damage to peop property with ensuing cla damages.

In fact, it is no coincidence that our legal system considers horseback riding a potentially dangerous sport So, as the above clearly demonstrates, the love for these splendid animals entails a series of risks we will outline below and which we intend to protect you against with the cooperation and support of a nd

It is often thought that the consultant's task is only to find the most convenient policy. We, on the other hand, take a different approach: our priority is prevention.

We first analyze the risks and specific needs of the customer whether it is an individual, a company or a public body and only if necessary, do we propose insurance as the last step of a tailor-made path.

When needed, we negotiate insurance coverage with the best Italian and foreign companies, always with the aim of guaranteeing the most suitable solution In addition, to offer a complete and integrated service, we collaborate with brokers, lawyers, experts and professionals specialized in different fields

We operate in a market that is already full of experienced consultants, but our added value lies in our passion for this sector and our specialist expertise

We don't just find solutions, we make sure they are the best for your needs, without ever losing sight of a fundamental principle: 'the social value of insurance'.

We study the possible risks and their consequences, and create tailormade plans to mitigate and manage them in the most effective way.

O U R M E T H O D

We forge and maintain a professional relationship with our Clients following these steps:

Along with the Client and, if necessary, with the support of external risk managers, pre-assessment companies, experts and specialised lawyers, we perform a detailed analysis of the company’s typical activities to identify existing areas of risk. To this end we prepare a report of the insurance policies in being, with special reference to the individual clauses and the economic aspect of each.

- Definition of an insurance program whose aim is to optimise the level of cover of each policy, in both legal and economic terms, through cooperation with leading Italian and foreign insurance companies.

- Analysis, assessment and decision, in agreement with the client, on the ways in which the proposed insurance cover should be implemented.

- Management of insurance contracts and of any claims, even if not settled.

- Periodic preparation of summary reports on the status of the insurance portfolio.

- Constant monitoring of the insurance contracts. We update these contracts so that their content remains pertinent over time, based on the evolution of the activities insured, as the risks increase or decrease and as law provisions change.

C L A I M S M A N A G E M E N T

The occurrence of a claim and its management through to its settlement is the moment when the efficacy and efficiency of the insurance solutions chosen are validated. Such is the importance of this stage that we have set up an office to manage it, with a lawyer and specialised personnel who deal every day with the relationships between the client and lawyers, adjusters and experts involved in the damages compensation process

B E Y O N D I N S U R A N C E : R I S K M A N A G E M E N T .

The goal is not only to obtain compensation when the unexpected happens, but also to prevent or reduce risks. Fewer accidents means fewer legal problems and more safety for those who work in the sector and for those who practice horseback riding. For this reason, we provide advice on risk management protocols and practices.

The 2025 Brazilian National Arabian Horse Show

The44th edition of the Brazilian National Show is one for the storybooks. A venue with so many new attractions but at the same time delivering the high quality it has become known for in all sorts of ways, by breeders, exhibitors and spectators alike.

It also marked the resounding success of the first edition of the GCAT Show Americas hosted in São Paulo. Visitors from all over the world came to prestige this amazing initiative with their presence.

This year the event started on July 9th with the Brazil Cup Show, then with the Brazilian National Show, ending with the GCAT São Paulo edition on July 13th and 14th.

The Brazilian National Show

This was a special year for the Brazilian Nationals. It represented at the same time the

consolidation of some important cycles while welcoming other great new ones.

A major example is the successful debut of a group of previous National Champion Stallions as sires at this National edition, representing a most welcome renovation in the show ring while endorsing the breeders’ right decisions that led to this amazing outcome.

The introduction of the GCAT Show São Paulo following the Brazilian Nationals was another novelty that proved to be a welcome addition among the general public.

A record of foreign visitors from Europe, the Middle East, North and South America to both shows proves that the incredible work involved in the making of this event definitely paid off.

As far as consolidation is concerned, the two tributes that were done this year rendered a much-deserved recognition to two of our breeds greats: José Alves and Zezé Rodrigues.

A special sales event called the Patrons Parade was also held during the show, adding up the many private treaty sales of horses, breedings and embryos done during and after the show.

This year a total of 220 horses were presented in the halter and performance divisions of the National Show. A group of distinguished international judges was selected to adjudicate the competitors and the judging panel was comprised of the following members:

• Steve Dady – United States

• Glenn Schoukens – Belgium

• Willy Open – Argentina

• Ted Carson – United States

• Francisco do Rego – Brazil

• Jeff Schall – United States

The ring master duties were performed by the amazing Juan Stuckey and Kathy Smith was the show´s steward.

Moments

There couldn’t be a more fitting grand finale for the Brazilian National Show than the Senior Stallion Finals.

It marked the triumph of the exotic bay Emir Sahara, bred by Haras Sahara who, spent some years in Europe and in the U.S after winning both the titles of Brazilian National Junior Colt and Colt Champion. Thankfully he was brought back to Brazil due to the effort of their current owners Thiago and Kamilla Pontes of TP Arabians and Rodrigo Lorenzi de Castro of Haras das Paineiras. During his stay abroad he added the titles of World Cup Gold Champion and U.S. Champion Stallion. The overall anticipation of his entrance was very high, but the second he entered the ring it was all history. Impeccably shown by Fred Kunze he became the unanimous Brazilian

Gold Champion Stallion, a much-deserved victory by any standard.

Also impressive was the unanimous victory of the Silver Champion Lughan HVP, bred by Haras Vila dos Pinheiros and owned by Tercio Miranda of Haras Paiquere. A beautiful white stallion of incredible type and movement, Lughan HVP is the natural heir to his famous and recently deceased sire HDF Lugano. His mother Princess Marwan HVP is a daughter of Marwan Al Shaqab and the stunning DA Vinci daughter DA Joia, a mare that traces in tail female to one of the most beautiful mares of all time, Dornaba. Two days after his win Lughan HVP conquered the coveted title of Gold Champion Stallion of the GCAT, the ultimate endorsement for this truly amazing horse.

The most classic head classes proved to be a triumph for the amazing mare Stig Justhine. Bred by Haras Stigmatas and owned by Haras JM this beautiful daughter of WH Justice is the dam of

both the most classic head champions in the male and female class, namely Cash del Tino JM (by El Tino) and Justhine Farouk JM (by EKS Farouk). As if that wasn´t proof enough of her outstanding producing quality, she also won the Produce of Dam class, while

the Get of Sire class was won by Calvin del Tino JM (El Tino x Marcessa FF), bred and owned by Haras JM.

The winner of the liberty class was Falcon di Pscore JM, a son of the noted Padrons Psyche son Pscore out of Marjorie HVP by FA El Shawan. He is bred and owned by Haras JM. Two horses dominated the English Pleasure Classes Ghittar di Magnum JM (Magnum Psyche x Xaklinna D´Pscore JM) and Zdyor JM (RFI Maktub x Echo Moniela), both bred and owned by Haras JM. They were ridden both by the talented Adilson Faleiro in all the different classes except for the Amateur, who was won by the ridder Mateus Silva. Ghittar di Magnum JM won the Maiden Horse and Young Horse classes.

Zdyor JM once again amazed the spectators with his incredible quality in three different ridden disciplines. Besides winning the Open,

the Amateur and the Senior English Pleasure classes, he also came out as the winner of the Native Costume and the competitive Hunter Pleasure Open class this year, these last two also ridden by Adilson Faleiro.

The winner of the Hunter Pleasure Plan-Amateur and Plan-Exhibitor classes was the mare RFI Naamia Al Neschi (RFI Agadir Al Neschi x RFI Norah Almaktub). She was bred and is owned by RFI Arabians and was ridden by Rodirgo Foz Forte.

The Western Pleasure Classes are always a highlight when it comes to performance in Brazil. This year the top spots in the Western

Zdyor JM

Prince of Desert FWM (Bandit SRA x PS Desert Rose), represented the colors of Haras Lone Star winning the Western Pleasure Maiden Horses ridden by José Alcides Rodrigues and the Amateur Class ridden by his daughter Stephanie Rodrigues.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Jose Alves Filho

A much-deserved homage was done with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year having José Alves Filho, founder of Haras JM, as the recipient of the prize.

A former president of ABCCA, José Alves has been known for some great horses bred or owned by him while building the success of his great breeding program, that has been in activity for over thirty years. A breeding program that gave him the honor of being chosen the best Breeder and Exhibitor in Brazil, for over ten years in a row.

Among these horses is the unique Europa El Jamaal, bred by him and the first Brazilian born to be named U.S. and Canadian National Champion Mare on top of also winning at the National Shows of Brazil and Saudi Arabia.

His stallion roaster boosted some of the finest

stallions in Brazil, including Style SRA, Pscore, Vaalente, Yllan el Jamaal, Sir Famess HBV and later Aria Rakeem, whom he leased in the U.S. last year.

Among the Brazilian National Champion Mares bred by him are Piettra di Style JM and Shannaya D´Magnum JM. His more recent win was with Jucienne D´Bandit JM, who just won the coveted Gold Champion Junior Filly at the Brazilian Nationals. In the meantime, his international contender, the beautiful Wiezas Diamond ORA keeps winning major titles in the U.S.A.

Always very active in fostering various initiatives to promote the Arabian horse, Jose Alves has a very quiet demeanor, and despite his truly huge contributions to the Arabian horse in Brazil, he seldom brings any attention to himself.

Among his many contributions is the Brazil Cup, a project that he supports firmly since its inception, allowing many new breeders to experience the thrill of the show ring and bringing newcomers to the breed.

A tribute to Zezé Rodrigues

A due recognition to one of our industry most influential member was also done with the tribute to Zezé Rodrigues.

Zezé has influenced and formed generations of trainers, breeders and riders in his over fifty

years of working with Arabian horses. Member of a family of horsemen, Zezé has also helped his own sons, Alcides, João Batista and Diego to achieve top honors as trainers in Brazil and abroad.

Zezé started his career with Arabian horses at Haras Morro Vermelho, a very traditional farm in the seventies. It was during the eighties that he met the great Pole Levy of Haras Capim Fino and launched his career as a trainer and handler with Jaguar Training Center.

After many years working with Pole he decided to establish his own training facility and opened ZR Training that is in full operation to this day, with the help of his wife Carolina and their daughters.

Zezé won over a hundred National titles in both halter and performance. He was also the first Brazilian to win abroad, more specifically in Scottsdale, the toughest show on Earth at the time, riding the Brazilian bred Munir HCF in Western Pleasure Open, and taking the Reserve Championship out of over 250 entries.

The Brazilian Arabian horse community has Zezé Rodrigues in the highest regard and acknowledges his many contributions during his long involvement with Arabian horses.

The Brazil Cup Show

The Brazil Cup hosted its last show of the year at the Brazilian National Show.

Conceived as an alternative circuit to broaden the base of breeders who wish to present their horses in a competitive yet accessible environment, the Brazil Cup is continuously fulfilling its task while raising the quality of the horses present year by year.

This year the judging panel for the show was comprised of:

• Orpheu de Souza Avila – Brazil

The first championship was the Junior Filly and this year´s unanimous Gold Champion winner came from Haras El Sevillano, a young breeding program that is making its

INTERNATIONAL CUP

CHARITY AUCTION

INTERNATIONAL SHOW

EUROPEAN SHOW

27-29 JUNE 2025

I can say without being contradicted that that weekend was one of the hottest in recent years, with peaks of up to 40 degrees, but that did not stop horses and people from attending this event on the outskirts of Milan. The catalogue has 104 horses entered, divided into two shows (plus the Filly Foals, which are a separate competition): the B International and the European C Show. Before talking about the competitions, however, I want to introduce the day preceding the event, the Friday evening, because it was a truly unusual moment of aggregation, a bit like it used to be years ago, with breeders, owners and judges all united at dinner in a big party. For this we have to thank the Arabite Horse Event. Claudio Mazza assisted by Claudia Orsi, both official organisers of the show.

During the weekend they really did their best offering to the guests, the gala evening where a buffet dinner was served with exceptional catering, the modern violin concert and later a charity auction where part of the funds from the breeding of important stallions and exceptional embryos sold went to an organisation supporting the families of

children suffering from homeopathic and oncological diseases ‘ABEO LIGURIA (https://abeoliguria.it). It was a great success, and the guests’ positive comments confirmed this. The location is certainly one of the best we can have in the north, and it is the historical one in Vermezzo, the “CMV Royal Club” with amazing boxes, a covered arena with VIP area and an elegant restaurant equipped for large events, such as this one! On Saturday morning, the ECAHO-affiliated International B show started and the jury consisted of: Mr. Joseph Polo (USA), Mr. Zico Guardia (Brazil) and for Italy Mrs. Irina Stigler. Mrs. Lizette Svensson was Ring Master. The Disciplinary Committee was managed by: Mr. Alessandro Marino Dr. Vet. Armena Zamboni and Mrs. Ils Van Dun. The speakers alternated between English Mr. Erik BlaaK and Italian Mr. Nico Belloni, both of whom also conducted the auction.. We come to the champions who won the International B: in the Yearling Fillies class, gold medal winner ‘SALWA AL THAMER’ owned by Al Thamer Stud, silver medal winner ‘MALEFICENT SCAH’ owned by Scah Arabians and bronze medal winner ‘JURASHEEMA L’ owned by Lubochnia Arabians.

Fabio Brianzoni z photos by Simone Bergamaschi

Gold medal in Yearling Colts for ‘AB RAZEEN’ owned by Al Faith Stud/Jafar Idris Hafeethah - a double for Scah Arabians who won the Silver medal with ‘KAIDO SCAH’. Bronze for Mertyris Losif’s ‘ADONIS MJ’. We move on to the Junior Fillies with the Gold medal for “HELAH BIN J” owned by Abdulaziz Al Jalban. Silver for ‘FIAMMA MONISCIONE’ of the historic Az. Agr. Buzzi Giancarlo. Followed with a Bronze ‘LM BENITA’ owned by another historic breeding La Movida Arabians G.& F. Huemer. The Juniors concluded with the Colts winning the gold medal winner ‘HA GAETANO’ of Fontanella Magic arabian. Regalis Arabian takes home a  Silver with ‘BERNINI REGALIS’ and the Bronze goes to ‘CYROS OS’ of Gestuet Osterhof AG. Now the Seniors and it is ‘EKS SADIYAH’ owned by Al Shahania Stud that wins the Gold in the Broodmares. Silver medal for ‘D A’ASALEYYAH’ owned by Mr. Rajab Mostafa Abdulrahman. Emanuele Fasciani

In the work of Emanuele Fasciani, a Roman artist born in 1994, matter is never passive, but becomes a threshold, an enigma, a revelation. It is in matter that the sense of transformation resides, the deep memory of nature, the invisible trace of a humanity in search of reconciliation with the world it inhabits. Sculptor, painter and installer, Fasciani does not simply mold forms: he evokes, listens to, and questions that which is archaic, invisible, becoming. His artistic practice is rooted in a layered philosophical thought, where Heraclitus, the alchemical tradition, neo-Platonic culture and natural symbology merge into a contemporary, visceral gesture, immersed in the present time.

Trained between France, Belgium and Italy, with a specialist diploma in Decoration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Fasciani has been able to integrate the academic discipline with an inner urgency that has led him to confront, from the very beginning, raw materials rich in memory: beeswax, bitumen, wood, roots. Materials that are not simply means of expression, but stores of meaning, tools of an ongoing reflection on metamorphosis and the cyclical nature of existence.

At the heart of his poetics is a key idea: nothing is immutable. As the Heraclitean thought of panta rhei teaches, everything flows, everything is transformed. But in Fasciani this vision is not

exhausted in an abstract philosophy of becoming. On the contrary, it is condensed into a profoundly concrete work, where the artistic gesture becomes ritual, form becomes organism, and matter becomes the field in which an allegorical transmutation takes place involving nature, time and identity.

His research explicitly draws on alchemical philosophy, particularly the stages of the Opus Magnum process: Nigredo, Albedo, Rubedo.

In this path, the blackness of bitumen, dense, layered, heavy, represents the stage of shadow, introspection, and symbolic death. It is from here that matter is transformed, passing through the

gold of wax, fragile, warm, uncertain, embodying rebirth, enlightenment, the tension toward a higher form of awareness. In Fasciani, however, alchemy is never only symbolic.

It is also physical, almost liturgical. The process is slow, immersive, often site-specific: each work is born in relation to a place, interrogates it, traverses it, brings out its silent potential. In his installations, nature is not represented: it is living matter, it is the very subject of the work. Branches, roots, skeletal

plant forms are fused with bitumen, immersed in pools of water, suspended in the air, molded in wax.

What emerges is an ambiguous form, somewhere between sculpture and fossil, between archaic ritual and sacred object.

Gold and black, the two chromatic poles that dominate his visual lexicon, not only indicate aesthetic contrasts, but become metaphysical codes, tools for thinking about the human

condition and the individual’s relationship with natural time. Water, a recurring element in his installations, represents flow, purification, regeneration. In his projects, as happens in some works placed in nineteenth-century wash-houses or lake landscapes, water is not a background, but an active subject. It transports, reflects, transforms. It makes visible the passing of time, but also the possibility of another state, of an essence that survives change. In this sense, Fasciani’s art approaches deep ecological thinking, which is not limited to denunciation, but is configured as a gesture of care, as a form of attention and listening to what is fragile, invisible, marginal.

The body of the work, like that of the landscape that houses it, is always poised between what is shown and what remains hidden. Fragility is a fundamental component of her language. Its gilded wax forms do not impose a presence, but rather suggest it; they tremble in sunlight, melt in the heat, converse with humidity, wind, and time. This openness to becoming makes the work a living organism, changing with the environment and with the gaze of the viewer. And the viewer is never placed in front of the work, but within it: invited to walk among the branches, to listen to the smells, to follow the flow of water, to reflect in the shiny surfaces or to get lost in the dark cavities. The experience of art, for Fasciani, is immersive and

sensory: it involves sight, touch, smell, memory. It is a form of radical presence that interrupts daily time and invites one to reconnect with one’s original dimension.

Each of his works is a threshold, a passage, a ritual. The creative gesture becomes a writing in matter, capable of revealing what is buried, forgotten, removed.

In the contemporary context, in which art often risks becoming decoration or a market product, Emanuele Fasciani’s work stands out for its rare ethical and poetic coherence. It is an art that does not seek impact but depth, that eschews spectacle to become an inner experience. It is an art that takes a stand, not through direct denunciation, but by restoring meaning to gesture, place, and material.

Ultimately, Emanuele Fasciani’s artistic practice is an invitation to rethink our being in the world. To recognize in transformation not a loss, but a possibility. To return to touch matter, to listen to the silence of places, to perceive time as something that passes through us and shapes us. His works remind us that form is never fixed, that everything that seems finished is only waiting for a new beginning. And that, perhaps, true beauty lies there: in the continuous possibility of change.
