The 67th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show will take place at the City of Scottsdale’s WestWorld, February 17-27, 2022. The purebred Arabian horse comes in many colors. The colorthat is maybe most loved around the world is the black one. In 1941, Walter Farley already showed his appreciation for this magnificent Black creature and produced a series of novels featuring “The Black Stallion.” Later, in 1979, a movie called the Black stallion was released, based on the adventures of Walter Farley. Since then, more and more admirers of the Black Arabian horse were gained. What makes a Black Arabian so special and how does one get this magical color. Genetics: We will first dive into the world of genetics. Each horse has two complete pairs of chromosomes – one that came from its father, and the other from its mother. The genetics behind a black horse are coming from two genes. We use letters to identify which types of each gene (which allele) the horse has inherited. Capital letters identify the dominant allele, and lower case letters stand for a recessive allele. The first gene is the ‘Extension’ gene. You can see this extension gene as the Black and the Red (Chestnut) gene. The letters are ‘E’ for black, and ‘e’ for red. Black, big ‘E’, is dominant to red, little ‘e’. EE = black-based Ee = black-based ee = red (chestnut)-based

The second gene is the Agouti gene. The ‘Agouti’ gene controls black distribution across a horse’s body. Since red-based horses have no black, they will have two copies of this gene, but they won’t play a role in determining the horse’s color. On a black-based horse, the agouti gene determines whether the black will be all over the horse or only on certain parts like the mane, tail, and legs. In this last case, the horse will be bay. Let’s make it more clear: AA = black restricted to main, tail, legs Aa = black restricted to main, tail, legs aa = black is unrestricted, black all over the body When you combine this with the extension gene and you get: EE or Ee (black based) with AA or Aa (restricted black) = a Bay horse. EE or Ee (black based) with aa (unrestricted black) = Black horse. And when you have ee (red-based) with AA, Aa, or aa (or any combination of aguti alleles) it is a Chestnut horse. Past: Back to the Black Arabian. In 1979, the role of the Black stallion was given to Cass Ole. He was born

BLACK ARABIAN HORSE in 1969 and was a son of Al Marah Cassanova by Rapture out of Cassandra, both a direct descent of Raffles. The dam of Cass Ole was La Bahia by Hanrah out of Ronara. While the sire of Cass Ole was grey and his dam bay, Cass Ole himself was black as cole. He won over 50 championships and 20 reserve championships in his seven years show career including the title US National champion Western pleasure. Cass Ole awakened the love for Black Arabian horses in people all over the world, however, he wasn’t the first Black Arabian stallion that became famous. Around 339 BC, another Black Arabian became legendary. It was Bucephalus, the horse of Alexander the Great. Although no one can confirm he was a purebred, paintings found of the stallion shows great similarities with that of an Arabian horse. Bucephalus guided Alexander through many battles until his eligible death in 326 BC. Present: Also in the past decades we had some famous Black Arabians among us. In 1997, the stallion Simeon Sadik, was named World Reserve Champion stallion. Bred by Simeon Stud in Australia and owned by Halsdon Arabians from the United Kingdom until his death in 2012, Sadik was a son of two greys. His sired was the famous stallion Asfour (Malik x Hanan) and his dam the

This filly was born from a black father and bay mother. The father and the mother both carry a gene for black. Both of them gave the black gene to the foal, which resulted in a homozygous black filly!

beautiful Simeon Safanad (Sankt Georg x 27 Ibn Galal V). One of the sons of Sadik was the black colt Arastin (x Arina), who was bred in 2002 to his half-sister Sadika(x Woodlay Angelika). Together they produced Aziza who later became known as the dam of the Black, Al Thumama stud owned, Ava (by Vervaldee) who holds quite a nice show record. Another famous Black horse is the mare The Vision HG (Thee Desperado x Belle Staar). Bred by Hamilton Gates Arabians, The Vision HG is the dam of famous stallions like the 2006 World champion Al Lahab (by Laheeb), International champion Al Ayal AA (by Al Ayad), Al Ghazali AA (by Gazal al Shaqab), Al Hadiyah AA (by Laheeb) and Al Maraam AA (by Imperial Imdal). Before her passing at Ariela Arabians in 2018, she also left some fantastic daughters like Al Amal AA (by Halim Shah I) and her only black daughter, Al Sharoura AA by Nader al Shamal AA. With a breeding record like this, we can clearly say that The Vision HG has been the best Black broodmare the world has ever known. Now, in 2021, the eyes of the world are mainly focused on the black stallion Magic Magnifique, owned by Sweden Arabian Horse Stud. This Black stallion is sired by True Colours by Thee desperado, making him related to The Vision HG. The dam of Magic Magnifique is Magic Mon Amour who also has two crosses to Thee Desperado. A recent success of this stallion

is the win of the Bronze medal title with the yearling colt WF Gavin at the prestigious show in Menton. Another Black stallion that gains more and more popularity is ASE Justice el Jamaal. A son of the champion maker WH Justice and out of the direct Ali Jamaal daughter; Geraldyne el Jamaal. Bred by Arabian Stud Europe, ASE Justice el Jamaal is now in the ownership of Al Dawla Arabians, Australia. With the Black Arabians gaining more and more popularity, Giorgia Mauri of Tutto Arabi Magazine came with this great idea to dedicate a whole section to the Black horses of the Arabian Horse World. “As breeders we create dreams, and I find this is even more true when breeding black Arabian horses. Almost every day I am contacted by someone who says: “I always dreamed of owning a black Arabian horse.” The Black Stallion Book and Movies by Walter Farley for sure had a significant impact on this dream, and this is also how my journey started. I was obsessed as a little girl by this Movie, I watched it over and over, dreaming of one day owning my version of “The Black”. Little did I know back then that the
first horse I would breed, would be exactly what I envisioned my “Black” to be. Shayan de Magnifique was born in 2016, and wow, this horse took me on quite a ride in every way and also “put me on the map” as a (black) breeder. Fast forward 5 years later Shayan had a successful show career, is breeding some of the best black mares the world has to offer and recently started his dressage career, just recently winning Gold Champion at the Classic Pleasure Junior at the Arabian Futurity Europe with Ilona Bax. In the course of creating my vision of a high quality black breeding program, I searched for experienced breeders and trainers to learn from. They all told me something similar: 1) “be careful not to limit yourself when breeding black”, 2) “you will have a hard time winning with a black in the Showring” and 3) “a good face can be bred in one generation, a good confirmation needs to be bred through many generations”. Following the first advice, I found that some of the best blacks in the world are in fact not out of (only) black parents and this has been true for my breeding program as well. Which is why I also love to mix some other lines into my program that are not black but can produce black. In terms of the second advice: I can't confirm this one. I'm still not entirely sure whether it was beginner's luck, strategy or the horse, but so far we did quite well in the Showring. Furthermore, what made my day more than winning was hearing people whisper: “Wow, Who is this?”. And for the third advice, I follow this one very closely. What I look for in breeding Arabian horses is versatility and balance… all of the horses I breed need to have the basis to be able to perform both in Riding and Showing. Most importantly, I always follow my passion and intuition. ASE Justice el Jamaal, aka “Black Justice”, is that one special colt that comes around once every few years. A unique colt, whose name is being whispered all around the globe. Justice el Jamaal was born in 2019 from one of the strongest pedigrees in the world. A rare, black son of the champion maker WH Justice and out of the special mare Geraldyne el Jamaal, one of the youngest daughters of the legendary Ali Jamaal.
The most reverend of horses is a black horse (adham) with a white star on the forehead (aqraḥ) and a white snip on the upper lip and nose (artham). The next best horse is a black horse with a white star on the forehead and white markings on three legs (muḥajjal) with the right front leg without any whiteness (ṭaliq al-yamīn). If not black, the same markings are to be sought on a horse with a color between black and chestnut, i.e. brown or bay, (kamīt) with these same markings. (Prophet Muhammad, peace is upon him)1
The story of “Black Justice” began in the Netherlands, where he was born at the hands of Talitha Bakker of Arabian Stud Europe. During one of the visits that Diaa Kara-ali of Al Dawla Arabians, Australia, made to the farm, he immediately fell in love with the black colt. He followed his progression closely, and in the summer of last year 2020, Diaa acquired “Black Justice” for his breeding program and the colt was sent to Elba Training Center (Belgium) to prepare him for his next adventure. Justice el Jamaal has a teacup muzzle with a white snip and tiny beautifully shaped ears on a refined face with a star. His neck is long and arched emblematic of his legendary sire. He flags his tail and carries it high. He is always ready to showcase his beauty. Full of snort and blow, he is a true resemblance of his pedigree, tracing back to the great Bey Shah. “His big dark eyes”, Diaa recalls, “remind me of the beautiful black eyes I have recently seen while studying Justice el Jamaal’s extended pedigree. The eyes of Black Justice are a split image of Mirage’s eyes”. Mirage is the sire of Rageyma, in Blacks’s tail dam line, of the Kuhaylan Jellabi strain.
This stallion, Mirage, was born in the desert, and selected as a mount of the newly installed King of Iraq, Faysal I, before he was sold to a European ambassador and ending up in Lady Wentworth’s hands by 1923. Mirage had a brilliant career at stud, and he is now one of the most successful USA sire lines (that of Bey Shah, Huckleberry Bey, and Barbary, among others). ------------------------------------------------------

ZT LUDJTEYNA ZT Ludjteyna, a daughter of Ludjin el Jamaal and the black US National Champion mare Shahteyna, was born at the famous studfarm of Count Federico Zichy Thyssen from Argentina. There she foaled the amazing colt ZT Marwteyn by Marwan al Shaqab. In 2012, ZT Ludjteyna was discovered by Ward Bemong, manager of Athbah Stud. Ward had a great admiration for Ludjteyna as being a daughter of the great Shahteyna, a mare Ward still remembered from
his time at Micheal Byatt, where everything has started for him. He bought Ludjteyna and brought her over to Belgium. It was there where Ludjteyna was bred to world champion EKS Alihandro, what resulted in the black colt Pistorius. In 2016, Pistorius was named All Nations Cup, Gold medal champion gelding. Since 2021, ZT Ludjteyna is owned by Arabian Stud Europe and is booked to the young and exciting black WH Justice son: ASE Justice el Jamaal for 2022!

GERALDYNE EL JAMAAL The timeless beauty Geraldyne el Jamaal was born at Lenita Peroy’s famous studfarm Haras Meia Lua in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The father of Geraldyne is the legendary Ali Jamaal. A stallion who needs no futher introduction. Geraldyne is one of his youngest daughters and comes from the fantastic damline of Gai Natascha. Gai Natascha was bred by the Gainey farms and is a daughter of another world famous stallion, Bey Shah and comes out of Gai Randiance, who is the full sister to the Halsdon Arabians owned Gai Radiant. Geraldyne is the combination of multiple genetic masterpieces. When looking at Geraldyne, you can strongly see Ali Jamaal resembled in her eyes, her small pointy ears and her neck. Shake a plastic bag and Geraldyne will turn into a moving machine, full snort and blow, like her grandsire Bey Shah. See her under saddle and you will see the resemblance of Gai Parada. Before Geraldyne found her forever home with Arabian Stud Europe in The Netherlands, she left offspring at two famous breedingfarms in Brazil. The first one being Haras Serondella, the farm of Fabio Amorosino. “I had the pleasure to buy Geraldyne el Jamaal directly from Lenita when she was a filly,” Fabio recalls. “She was a very nice one! Geraldyne is a very strong representative of her pedigree with the Jamaal unforgiven look associated with the Bey Shah ‘look at me’ attitude.” In 2010 Geraldyne was sold to Haras Stigmatas, Brazil, in foal to Henno Serondella. It was here where the first Black offspring of Geraldyne was born. A gorgeous filly named Stig Josephine. In the autumn of 2011, Geraldyne el Jamaal was sold to Talitha Bakker of Arabian Stud Europe, The Netherlands. In 2019, Geraldyne gave birth to an amazing Black colt sired by the champion maker WH Justice. This colt, ASE Justice el Jamaal was exactly what you would expect from the cross WH Justice and Ali Jamaal. The big dark eyes of Geraldyne/Ali Jamaal and the amazing show attitude and refinement of WH Justice. ASE Justice el Jamaal, or Black as we all call him, was noticed by Diaa Kara-Ali at an early age and was acquired for his Al Dawla Arabians in Australia. Today, this spectacular colt has his residence at Elba Training centre in Belgium. In 2021, Geraldyne gave two black foals by embryo transfer. Sired by D Angelo and bred and owned by Joost Boel of Elizar Arabians, Belgium. For 2022, Geraldyne el Jamaal is expecting two foals by embryo transfer. One sired by the Black stallion AJ Yas (by AJ Mardan). Besides exceeding all expectations in the breeding barn, Geraldyne is also doing high level endurance with her owner Talitha Bakker. Broken in at the age of 15, Geraldyne is at the start were most horses would retire. In the three years of her endurance career, Geraldyne finished a total of 830km without any elimination! Her most recent accomplishment is the successful finish of a 170km endurance ride in the German mountains “Schwäbische Alb”. With 19 years of age, she is still fit and full of life! q

In the beautiful province Drenthe in The Netherlands, Peka Arabians is loved and managed by Petra Mulder. She moved to Drenthe from the big city The Hague in 2001 and bought a farm to realize her dream; Breeding Arabian Horses. She discovered that the well respected breeder Luut Schutrups was her neighbor and she frequently started to visit him as there was still so much to learn. Luut had three beautiful mares. One of them being the big moving black pearl Kupona (Kupol x Rigona by Abakan). Petra fell in love with this mare and a dream was born of owning such a beautiful black mare herself one day. In 2006 Luut decided to breed his black mare Kupona to Massimo Ibn Mirokan. As Massimo had a really dark brown colour Luut said maybe we will have a black foal. In that same year Luut also bred his other mare Rigona, a chestnut, to Massimo Ibn Mirokan. Funny enough it was the mare Rigona who gave the so much wanted black filly. Petra had agreed with Luut that no matter the outcome of the foal of Kupona, she would buy it, But when the black filly out of Rigona was born she could not resist and bought the black filly as well. She was named Mashah T. This was the start of Peka Arabians and in 2012 Mashah was bred to Magic Magnifique. The next year a very beautiful filly was born named Mashique PKA. As Mashique was even more beautiful than her mother, Petra decided to sell Mashah T and keep Mashique. Mashique has inherited the super movement of her mother and grandmother. In 2020 a dear friend of Petra, Wendy from Forelocks Arabians, leased Mashique and this year an exceptional colt was born by the beautiful black stallion Avatar (Wadee al Shaqab x Ava). This colt is something special. Type, great neck and body, showy and again super movement! A promise for the future! As this amazing colt is Mashique’s first foal the expectations for the future are high! This year Mashique has been bred to AJ Portofino and she has checked in foal! Petra can’t wait for this foal! Another black beauty was born this year! In 2020 Petra bought an embryo right from Talitha Bakker of Arabian Stud Europe. The embryo comes from one of the rare Ali Jamaal daughters Geraldyne el Jamaal. She was bred to Magic Magnfique and early this year a very beautiful black filly was born: Guinevere PKA. She is everything Petra dreamed of and of course with a beautiful pedigree! She definetely is a keeper! Montefalco is a picturesque Umbrian town, in the center ofItaly, an ancient medieval village bordering with Foligno, a city with fame in the field ofhorse breeding and races. It hosted for years the famous race called Quintana, a seventeenth-century gallop race. Since years even the small Montefalco has set foot in horseworld thanks to its many breeding farms and competitions. Montefalco has important historical roots dated back to Roman times. Thanks to its dominant position in the valley between Spoleto and Perugia Montefalco has seen its civilization flourish starting from the XI century until Renaissance. The story goes that Federico II Emperor ofHoly Roman Empire and King ofJerusalem spent his childhood in Montefalco. ot only Art, History, Culture and the Beauty ofthe green hills in the earth of central Italy make pleasant this place. Montefalco is also part ofthe food and wine trail called “Strada del Sagrantino”, a natural path which let people enjoy one ofthe most appreciated wines produced in this part ofthe Umbrian land which attracts people from all over the world who come here to visit and appreciate its treasures.

T
otally immersed into the rich environment of the Umbrian hills, Montefalco Arabian Summer Festival contributes every year to the fame of this small town to be spread all over the Arabian horse world, both nationally and internationally.
The equestrian centre Le Lame Horse Sporting Club which hosted the show and which normally hosts jumping contests, is equipped with spacious structures, French sand show ground and 500 boxes. In addition to that, equestrian sport facilities are available and very appreciated by visitors. Arabian horse lovers and A ICA breeders have been founding here for years the right place where meeting each other and showing their Arabian horses. In the first row, regarding competitions, there are always the International ECAHO C Show and the Egyptian Event dedicated to the straight Egyptians. The quality of horses was special confirming the great work of those who decide to show their horses here presenting them to the world, despite the number ofentries were not so high. The organizer Mr Roberto Ceccaroni and his staff invited a group of international judges to satisfy all category needs for International Show and the the Egyptian Event. The international Jury for was composed by Mrs Claudia Darius (Germany), Mrs Kedar Chen (Israel), Mr Gideon Reisel ( etherlands), Mr Al Mannai Hassan (Qatar), Mrs. Martine Van Hee (Belgium). As Ring Master Dr Vet Laura Mascagna (Italy). The Vip Table and the info for Exhibitors were perfectly organized by Mr Gianpaolo Teobaldelli. The extraordinary warm weather has not influenced the natural horse and people vivacity. Organizers pumpered their guests with delicious offer of local products for aperitivo, followed by a stunning dinner at a restaurant hidden among the hills. The two day event was interesting and has confirmed the validity of the place and of the organization which did an excellent job in respect ofall the sanitary measures. See you there in 2022 with a lot of breeders and horses as this show deserves. Small shows like this one, organized with dedication and passion, in historical places of inestimable historical and cultural value, as well as environmental and aesthetic, which bring added value to the world ofArabian horses and to the places where they are held thanks to the induced income they produce, should be supported in every way both by the associations and by the big breeders in terms of participation and sponsorship. It is important to support them because unlike large events that already have international support and are the standard-bearers of the Arabian horse in the world, small shows allow small breeders to show themselves to the world, and give the opportunity for large breeders to discover hidden breeding pearls that would otherwise remain invisible. The small shows are vital for the world of the Arabian morphology horse because they give a showcase to the small ones, to those who produce with great passion and immense effort. From that effort comes a great source of novelty that can give driving force to the world of Arabian horses and that should not be forgotten nor left behind.

he stud of Polska AKF has recently announced the lease of the stallion Zeus E. A. , full brother to Excalibur E. A. , one of the most desired sires in the world, the Triple Crown winner of the All %ations Cup, the European Championships and World Championships.
Zeus E. A. himself has already been used by several Polish breeders who have decided to buy and import his semen in recent years. Although the group of mares was not large, it was in Poland that one ofhis most beautiful daughters was born – the grey Diodora bred by Petroniusz Frejlich - Top Five of the Białka Junior Spring Show, bronze medalist from Radom, fourth at the European and Polish Championships. A review of the results of Zeus E. A. ’s get in the world shows, however, that the most titled offspring come precisely from mares with Polish pedigrees.

Zeus E. A. is an attractive offer for breeders who want to take advantage of the opportunity to use a stallion with a modern, sought-after pedigree, while not wanting to invest very large amounts in the breedings of his full brother. It is also an opportunity for those who want to cover their mare with fresh semen available in Poland. The lineage of Zeus E. A. and Excalibur E. A. has an extremely interesting genesis and represents a modern breeding method, the so-called "pure in-strain", which in short means inbreeding horses every few generations to outstanding ancestors, especially when it comes to dam lines. Even the first travelers and importers of Arabian horses from the desert - such as the German Carl Raswan - noticed that Bedouins who did not use written pedigrees identify and distinguish their horses by dam lines. As we know, it was the mares, not stallions, that were the most valuable in the Bedouin herd. Surprisingly the correctness of these methods is confirmed by modern genetic research on mitochondrial D%A, which shows that some of the characteristics of horses are passed on only by mares and over many generations. On the other hand,

inbreeding to the same line contributes to the consolidation of some features carried by this line. Let us return here to the pedigree ofZeus E. A. , who is inbred to Elizja, appearing in the pedigree of this stallion in the second generation on the mother's side and in the fourth on the father's side. Elizja herself- Belgian %ational Champion, the quintessence ofthe European saklavi type, being a combination of Egyptian, Spanish, Polish and Crabbet blood, was also the result of inbreeding - both her dam and sire were by the same stallion (Ibn Estasha - son of Estasha, a full sister to the legendary El Shaklan). Another mare whose line appears twice in the pedigree of Zeus E. A. is Warandes Hindia - a mare by the Egyptian Hindi, and representing the dam line of Biruta imported from %owy Dwór, who was also a distant inbred her sire and dam were both from the dam line ofSahara d. b imported from the desert by Count Juliusz Dzieduszycki. Returning to the present - the more popular ofthe brothers Excalibur E. A. - bought at the age of 3 by Princess Laetitia D'Arenberg of Uruguay, took European shows by storm in
BLOODLINE his first season. It is true that he started his career on the Cote d'Azur, in Menton, with "only" third place in class. However, he never again allowed to be defeated by winning shows in Strohen (Germany), West Coast Cup (Belgium) and at the All %ations Cup in Aachen (Germany), where he achieved the highest score in the history ofECAHO shows (95. 33!). He then had "only" the European and World Championships, which of course he won as a beat favorite. Excalibur E. A. as a yearling had already won the title of US Champion, later adding victories in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to his achievements, being in the hands of new owner Al Saqran Stud (Kuwait). As Princess Leatitia from Uruguay emphasizes in her memoirs - Excalibur E. A. was not bought by her to win shows, the aim was to improve the type, head and neck and build at the princess' stud Las Rosas in Uruguay. The idea to lease the stallion to Europe and send him for demonstration training came later. As you can see, Excalibur E. A. , the full older brother of Zeus E. A. , lived up to all breeders' expectations. Among his offspring, he has many international champions and champions, including World Reserve Champion Stallion Alexxanderr. In Poland, he also proved himself to be a great sire, siring Polish %ational Junior Gold Champion Colt in Janów Podlaski – the stallion El Valentino bred by Wojciech Parczewski, the mare Excalibria bred by Zalia Arabians - gold medalist of the shows in Kauber-Platte and Cracow, Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival (A) Top Five, or the stallion Dexcalibur fourth in class at the Polish %ational Show and currently used at the home stud of Petronius Arabians. The exceptionally beautiful one-year-old filly Ghezlan Al Owanah, originating from a breeding farm in Poland, and born in Kuwait out of the Polish mare Gallia, is also worth observing. The filly, which definitely caused the greatest stir last season in the Middle East, is the bay yearling MDS Hind, considered by many to be the most beautiful yearling filly in the world, recently purchased by Ajman Stud (UAE). www.tuttoarabi.com - TUTTO ARABI | 159

A. , brought to Poland this year, popular among breeders because of his pedigree, but also good qualities passed onto his offspring - often a grey coat, a beautiful head and good movement. Daughters of Zeus E. A. are for example, mentioned at the beginning, the beautiful Diodora or Esperanza MS - silver medalist at the Spanish %ational Championships. Another daughter of Zeus E. A. from a Polish mating is Rose KAS, which took second place at the highly-entered national show in Qatar, and third at the title show - Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, in the same country. In turn, the son of Zeus, E. A. - the colt Wulkan E. A. was second at the French %ational Show in Vichy. He is also of Polish descent from his mother's side (his grandmother is Michałów's Wilda). As you can see Zeus E. A. so far has proved to be the best on mares ofPolish origin. This observation is also confirmed by the stallion’s breeder - Albert Sorroca, who summarizes the advantages of his pupil in this way - “Always when the name of Zeus EA

comes to me nice memories come, too. I remember well when he was born, I saw immediately a special colt was on the ground. He grew like he is now, harmonious, balanced and refined. His incredible pedigree is a great addition to any breeding program, adding his quality and refinement. Despite him being very young, he shows how he can produce as a sire. A. to Poland in order to give him a chance to test himselfon a larger number ofmares. As the stud manager - Szymon Głowacki says: "I have always been interested in the stallion Shanghai E. A. and his offspring. I find the breeding program at Equus Arabians very interesting. That is why we found it interesting to lease the full brother of the second, after Shanghai E. A. , most outstanding pupil of Equus Arabians - Excalibur E. A. We have been observing Zeus for a long time, and for some time we have been making efforts to bring this stallion to Poland, where he already has very successful offspring - incl. a great mare Diodora bred by Mr. Frejlich. I believe that this stallion is very suitable for Polish mares - he is practically
alien in terms of pedigree, he can bring a lot of fresh blood to our breeding. We plan to breed a wide range of mares with very different pedigrees to Zeus. As for the offer for other breeders in Poland - I encourage you to use Zeus E. A. because of the interesting pedigree and good offspring that were already born in our country ”. The above-mentioned criteria for Zeus E. A. were taken into consideration by two breeders who have obtained the best offspring from this stallion in Poland so far - Petroniusz Frejlich, breeder of the above-mentioned Diodora, and Dawid Borowiec from Koronowo Arabian Stud. “I once used the sire of Zeus in my breeding - the stallion Shanghai E. Picasso diMar amed after one of the best artists in human history, he represents the living piece ofart ofbreeding. Picasso di Mar, bred and proudly owned by Azienda Agricola Tre Stelle in Italy. He began his international career in 2017 as a yearling colt winning European Breeders Championships in Chantilly and following to the highest trophies in his career so far the year after – gaining 2018 European Gold Champion Colt and Italian ationals Gold Champion Colt titles. It was not a surprise that he caught en eye of big world breeders being on lease for two years to Al Jassimya Farm. And their success has been just around the corner. . . This year Picasso di Mar is returning to the scene for the second time with big kick off – both as a show horse and as a sire. The eyes of the whole Arabian horse community focused on him as a sire in June when his beautiful daughter named not other than Perfecta Al Jassimya won the class and silver medal at the prestigious Mediterranean and Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championships in Menton scored almost 92 points. About a month after Picasso himself proudly returned to the showring with Giacomo Capacci on the lead at Spring International Arabian Horse Show in Italy. In a strong class of 8 stallions and some big names in he gained as high score as 93, 38 points with all 20 across the judges boards for head and neck and 2x20 for type. Being in his best disposition he won the gold medal in the championship before D Kaheel by Fa El Rasheem and Engulo EEA by Shanghai EA.

He is typical representative of his male line of Versace via his sire – Cavalli, twice silver champion in Menton as junior and senior, silver champion at Elran Cup in Belgium and gold in Arezzo and Chantilly shows. SG Wendetta represents the line of famous Michałów Stud bred mare Wernera by Tallin sold at the auction in 1993 to Scuderia Groane in Italy. She produced a beautiful and valuable stallion Wares by Piruet who has been retained for Polish breeding while leased to Michałów in 2020. Bred to a typey Egyptian-sired stallion Brianz Xaver Wernera produced Wenus by Wernera – dam ofexotic filly SG Wenusia by SDP Taylor. Wenusia entitled Gold Champion at Spring Show in Montefalco and class winner at Italian ationals in 2016 happened to be a valuable mare in the breeding barn ofher owners. With World Champion Stallion Wadee Al Shaqab she produced Italian ational Bronze Medal filly SG Wenere but especially well she crossed with exotic Psyrasic by Psytadel who consolidated the unique type producing SG Walentina – Gold Champion of Italian Class A Show, Top Five at European Championships, and 5th in Menton and her one year older full sister was SG Wendetta – the dam ofPicasso di Mar. For usre the success in the summer 2021 is not the last word ofPicasso di Mar in the showring and as a sire so let's paint his name in our minds – Picasso di Mar as it may come back to us in even greater spotlight in the near future!

n incredible show this year organized by Arabite. Elegance, professionalism, sympathy, desire to be together and a lot of passion: these are the ingredients that have made extraordinary this Milan International Cup that has seen an ECAHO B International Show and the Egyptian Event on August 7th and 8th at the Equestrian Center San Giorgio in Verolanuova in the province of Brescia, a prestigious equestrian center surrounded by greenery owned by the Bertocchi family that is passionate about the Arabian horse and is making available its structure by hosting events as it has already done with the Spring Festival (organized by Arabite as well) and as it will do with other future events. The passion that unites breeders, owners and lovers of the Arabians was expressed at its best in a show that has been able to enhance the true love for the Arabian horse: a symbol of grace,

strength, freedom and elegance, the values exalted in this event. The Egyptian Event this year was sponsored by Al Rashediah and his top stallion, the wonderful Straight Egyptian aseem Al Rashediah who gave his name to the event, the aseem Cup. aseem Al Rashediah was named Straight Egyptian World Champion in 2020 and Bronze Medal Champion in Menton 2021 where he competed against Arabian stallions not Straight Egyptian confirming once again his greatness. As a reconfirmation of the organizational skills of the Arabite staff, led by Claudio Mazza and Claudia Orsic, officials and judges were selected to give further prestige to

Women have always inspired and supported women. From the interviews we are conducting, it is clear that the present of many women in this world has been strongly influenced by strong women of the past who, with their voices and lives, have revolutionized their own history and imposed change on their own future. It is therefore important to pick up the baton and pass it on to future generations by continuing to let them tell their stories, innovating and enriching the vocabulary at their disposal.

SPECIAL My name is Deirdre Hyde and I come from Scotland. Women seem to have woven their influence throughout my Arab horse life. I was first captivated through Mrs Lilias Macvie, a wonderful far-sighted friend of my mother who bred Arabians. Her sons were more interested in the farm’s tractors than her horses, so she adopted a small group of her friends’ horse mad daughters and for several years took us on a magical journey to the Arab Horse Show, held just outside London, an incredible adventure for country girls. We took the overnight sleeper train, we plunged into the London Underground and we stayed in a hotel, a first for some of us. Then two days of beautiful Arab horses, the cream of British breeding in the 1960s, a never to be forgotten experience. This clever lady also made sure that as we outgrew our ponies, we acquired Arab geldings and after that there was no looking back. I rode, showed, and eventually bred my own horses, I even briefly trained and raced a homebred gelding. Mother Macvie, as we called her, remained a mentor and role model until she died just a few years ago. My passion for the Arabian grew, I became an AHS judge and a Council member, then I joined the ECAHO judges list, eventually becoming an A judge and part of the Instructors Group. In 1992, almost out of the blue, thanks to another wonderful lady Jane Kadri, who passed on the offer that was to change the course of my life forever; namely to work in the Royal Stables of Abu Dhabi. I did not have to think twice in accepting, but I never guessed that for more than half my adult life I would have the privilege of working in the United Arab Emirates. Firstly, for the Royal Stables of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, then for his son Sheikh Sultan with whom I worked closely for 18 years setting up his Wrsan Stables. I was also part of the group he put together to devise the Boudheib Protocol to return endurance to its roots, and The Heritage Arabian Racing Club (HARC) to preserve the classic Arab horse through special conditions races which he sponsored. His Highness cared very deeply not only about welfare but about preserving a beautiful horse which could also perform, in this he admired the state studs of Poland and Russia, and these were all things that were in tune with my own beliefs. The Boudheib Protocol and HARC were a great success for the short years of their existence, but very sadly Sheikh Sultan passed away in 2019 and so far, no one has come to fill his shoes. Early last year in another out of the blue situation His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum asked me to join his Shadwell Stud as Arabian breeding consultant and I returned to UK where I am now involved in breeding Arabian racehorses. However, in March this year another tragedy occurred,
Sheikh Hamdan succumbed to cancer. Nevertheless, the good news is another lady comes into my life, his daughter Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan al Maktoum. She is taking over the famous Shadwell racing empire of both Thoroughbreds and Arabians. I think an exciting time lies ahead as this exceptional young lady bravely takes the helm. Let no one doubt the power of women in the United Arab Emirates, some of those ladies are highly educated and becoming very talented owners and breeders. I have often been asked how it is to be a woman working in the Middle East especially as I would often find myself the only woman in a room full of men. My answer is that not speaking the language was far more of a hindrance than my sex and I was only ever treated with respect and as an equal. In fact, being female had unexpected benefits because unlike the men, I was able to mix freely with the ladies and gain a much broader picture of the culture and their expectations. Women are given many incentives in the UAE and in my experience, they are frequently the ‘power behind the throne’. The equestrian field is one where women can compete on equal terms with men, many of the top show jumpers, event, dressage and endurance riders are women and even in the ultra-conservative world of racing, women as jockeys and trainers have made a huge strides, particularly in Arab horse racing. It would seem the Arabian often responds better to a woman than a man, dare I say this is to do with its innate intelligence and sensitivity. It is a pity there are now far fewer women in the show trainer field, and I wonder why this should be? Surely it is time women got back out there not just being left to do the work behind the scenes! Taking a lead from my mother and Mother Macvie it never occurred to me that being female could be a disadvantage. If you wanted something you just had to work hard to get it and to always act with respect and integrity. For this article I made a list of some of women whose work has played a part in my education either through their books or their conversation, it starts with Lady Anne Blunt founder of Crabbet and her daughter Lady Wentworth, then in no special order Izabella Zawadzka from Poland, Mary Garagozlou from Iran, Joanna Maxwell UK, Rosemary Archer UK, Pat Slater from Australia, Dana Alkhalifa from Bahrain, Judy Forbis and Karen Kasper USA. So, one of the first things I would recommend is to get educated, read and study all you can about this amazing horse because you can never stop learning and wisdom only comes with time. I then recommend travel and visiting as many farms and countries as you can to open your mind and eyes, the Arabian is an international horse.

My name is Johanna Ullström, I’m Swedish and I would say am a multi tasker around everything that has to do with Arabian horses. I have my own business, but cooperate long term with our clients and friends as a team. The mares at our farm are owned by several breeders but we work as one breeding farm! Our business cover breeding, raising of young horses, show training/showing, consulting, and also educating. We also try to do a little corner of performance, mainly dressage. I loved horses from as long as I remember, and started riding when I was about 7, once a week at a riding school, but also biked many kilometres to brush or look at horses in the neighbourhood, took the bus to help out in barns, and by time, I helped out during weekends in several barns, all breeds from trotting horses to fjord horses! My first own horse was by accident an Arabian gelding, we did not search for a specific breed, but when I saw him, there was no return.. We did so much together, many competitions as well, showjumping, crosscountry, a bit of racing and dressage. Through him, I fell in love with the Arabian horse, and it became my life passion! Today, I do not feel I am any different in the Arabian horse world as a woman, than if I was a man. To me, the biggest obstacles where before I was established. Now, I am in this business for so long, and I have found my way and my nisch, and I do not feel I struggle at all because I am a woman. I am confident in what I do, and I have chosen to do it my own way, without changing my integrity, beliefs and passion the slightest!! At start, it is always difficult to grow into someone to count on. Competition is hard, experience is low, and to be an eye catcher, you must work harder than those already established, to prove your point. Among the handlers of Arabian horses, women has been and is a minority, and I can perfectly understand this. You must not only have skills to show horses... It takes so much more, you must be so strong, do a good job with horses, be a fair, straight and honest person around both employees, clients and all other people. You must withstand gossip, blackmail and jealousy. You must sort out critics
and complains - what is fair critics you must learn and grow from, and what is just mean, unthoughtful and without sense? You must be able to drive during night, put up your stands at the show, show all weekend, while caring for clients, updating those not attending, plus make sure you have good people at home/manage that everything works fine. Late dinners and early mornings each show, week after week. Drive home during night after the show, to get home in time for unpacking, catch up on work, both in the barn and during night at office (oh, forgot - you must have skills with papers/taxes/communication and structure), then prepare for next show. In between, there might be visitors and presentations. Plus, those who ask for photos and videos of sales horses/updated photos of own horses. Or, information about stallions, with records/ photos/videos/offspring... With some luck, some foal watches during nights as well inbetween. You must be able to handle and educate obnoxious, sometimes dangerous stallions, and work with unhandled arriving youngsters. Also - to travel, mostly alone, to countries all over the world, adapt to other cultures and religions. Stay fearless, also under pressure. One week can be ultimate luxury, and next week, you might sleep in your horse truck. You can not be picky, you can not be tired and you must always be service minded and mentally stable, no matter how your surrounding behaves.. You must remain kind and professional, also when exhausted. You must deal professionally with people that wants to make you fail behind your back. You can not be sick. You are always the one cancelling on family events, friends and holidays. During Christmas, New year and other big weekends, you will always disappoint your family as its the time of the year with the most work, as employees are off. There are no bank holidays to relax- those days are full work days. You need to be able to structure, organise, repair, invent. There are traumatic situations with injured horses, sick horses or conflicts between people. You are the one to take command and sort it out. But... On the other hand, I would never, ever, want to change my life! Through my job, I have met several lifetime friends,

no difference between celebrities or truck drivers. My life has become so rich through meeting amazing people on my path. I have learned to be a better person each day, and even though my job is tough, I love every single minute of it! I have realised I can do so much, and I can change the world, one heart at the time. I do put my foot down around everything I really believe in, and it is possible to do so without harming others. I do not hurt my animals, and I do not hurt the people I surround myself with.
They lift me up, and give me energy, courage and happiness. We enjoy the horse shows, we enjoy our daily work and we enjoy so much the communication with people all around the world! I do hope I can inspire people. I try to encourage and educate. People were kind to me when I started, and when I was an inexperienced, young person, wanting to learn. Now, it is my turn to add value and knowledge with others!

I am a veterinarian and I work with small animals. For the past 20 years, since I got my degree in veterinary medicine, I have also started taking part in the show disciplinary committee. Over the years I have consolidated my experience in different events. In 2007 ECAHO reorganized all the lists of judges, ringmasters and DCs and on that occasion I participated in a course for DCs and passed the test brilliantly which allowed me to be directly included in the class A lists. After one year I also became a national and international DC instructor. Two years later I took part in the course to become an international ringmaster: I went to Paris to help other Italians who at that time were not familiar enough with English to be able to teach the course. Since I was there to translate their course, I automatically took the course myself, receiving the Ringmaster certificate at the end. Over the years I have also organized several shows. I can say that I was born into the world of Arabian horses because in 1979 my uncle bought the first Arabian horses and founded the Anica association of which he was president for more than 10 years. I was six years old at the time, so I can say that I grew up in the world of Arabian horses. Thanks to my uncle I was introduced to the world of Arabian horses. I lived on the family farm and took care of the births and of course the choice to study veterinary medicine was conditioned by this. In the world of Arabian horses, I was a breeder together with my uncle, then I was also a handler and I presented horses in several Italian shows. At a certain point I decided to move into the world of officials so I became a DC and this has been my main career in the world of Arabian horses, even if I am also a national judge and I started my path as an international judge. The commitments of work, family and as a DC did not allow me to follow this path assiduously that however I think I will finish within the next year. In my life, in the world of Arabian horses, I have found several obstacles. First of all because of my

nationality because I am Italian. Above all as a DC, in the role of a person who has to enforce the rules within the show, I had difficulties to impose my role because I come from a country identified in the world as the nation of “mafia, spaghetti and mandolin”. As a woman, I have certainly had some limitations, especially in Arab countries, although I must admit that I have always been respected and accepted as a person even before as a woman and thanks to my personality I have not had to fight. I have a great passion for my work, for my role as a DC and for sure it’s an activity that I want to continue. I want to continue to be in the DC world because on the one hand you have to enforce the rules and on the other hand this meets the needs of the horses and allows them to be presented and shown in the best possible way while having the best connection with the world of regulations. Sometimes being a DC is difficult because you have to make decisions that may go against your own way of thinking but that are within the rules. I am, however, a great mediator - even though from my physicality and character people might think I am an aggressive person. I am not at all, although I am very firm when I make a decision. This means being DC: sometimes you find yourself in situations where you have to enforce a regulation that you don’t fully agree with. As I said before in these cases my personality helps me because when I make a decision I have the certainty that that decision is right and I never go back on my decision. I know what I need to do and how to handle certain situations and this is because of my experience as a DC. Sometimes my decisions are unpopular but they are always based on regulations that I have to respect and enforce. People who attend the shows and sit in the VIP tables don’t always know what the regulations are like and how to enforce them. Sometimes people expect from the DC a more punitive attitude, sometimes a softer attitude, they

have different expectations than what actually happens in the field that is not always related to the regulations.
not to be a DC at the national level because, since I am also an Anica councilor this year, I don’t want to have a conflict of affiliation.
I believe that my story can be an inspiration because until a few years ago the role of DC was a role not too followed and instead in recent years this job has attracted more attention and perhaps my story has inspired some people to take the path to become DC, to approach this world and this job. Even though I have the title of Ringmaster, I prefer to continue to be an international DC and I prefer
I really enjoy being DC, horse and animal welfare is a priority of mine in my life as a veterinarian and DC. I love being out in the field making decisions that affect horses in and out of the ring, I love being in contact with people, with horses, with show Officials. The role of DC allows me to learn and collect experiences while also learning from the experiences of others.

SPECIAL When asked who am I? I always answer: a just horse lover, but I have found a special connection with Arabian horses. Arabian Soul stole my heart ... I was born and raised in Poland. I come from a large city of Katowice, located in the south of Poland. Horses have been with me since I was a child, since I can remember, I have always admired them and wanted them to be close. I spent every vacation in the countryside with my grandparents, who used them to work in the fields. My family has an interesting history with horses as my grandfather was a postman who rode horses delivering letters. He told me a story about how a horse saved his life during World War II by refusing to cross a road where a mine was hidden. He could never understand how this horse sensed danger. At the age of 13, I started riding in an equestrian club. So I was in the stable 24 hours a day. Then it was time to study, love, family, and put off riding. I graduated in legal administration as well as management and marketing for company. This, in turn, gave me a stable job. But because I missed horses I have started training in an equestrian club very much in my life, I have completed various courses in the field of horse training, reproduction, natural horse riding, etc. Currently, I have the pleasure to supervise and take care of the Arabian horse herd, working as the manager of the Kurozweki Horse Stud. The Kurozweki stud farm was once a state stud, on a par with Janów Podlaski stud and Michałów stud. The place where I am now exudes magic. You can feel the presence of the horse’s spirit here. In 20 years, over 800 horses were born at the state stud. In 2023 we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Arabian horse stud and breeding here at this stud. But the history of horses and this place is even older, as it dates back to the times of knights and the nearby castle. Poland as a country has over 200 years of beautiful history of Arabian horse breeding, which I am very proud of. As I mentioned earlier, I forgot about my passion for many years, because of work, study and family. When I returned to horses after a long break, I realized that this is the only way to professional satisfaction that gives me joy. Endorphins and enormous magnetism did not allow me to live without horses anymore. Apparently horses do not appear in our lives without a reason ... I came to the Arabian horse stud in Radom out of curiosity and stayed there for longer. On that first visit, my heart was stolen. It was a dark bay Arabian stallion named Etnodrons Psyche from Stan Red Arabians, son of Padrons Psyche. This is probably how you can describe love at first sight. I quickly understood the character of the Arabian horse, its delicacy, subtlety and sensitivity that fascinate me to this day. Of course, we started going to shows with our horses, and that’s
how I got to know people and the world of Arabian horses. The path to personal development in the Arabian horse world was opened for me by coach Gerald Kurtz, to whom I owe the most. Our cooperation continues to this day. What the world loves women for is our exceptional sensitivity to beauty, nature has endowed us with the gift of seeing and feeling more. We are gentler than people, more subtle, more humble, we have more patience and protection. I think this is my strength and gift for working with horses. I am committed to building relationships with horses based on mutual trust and respect. I teach the same to my employees and the next generation of teenagers who help us at our stud on a daily basis. I can see how this knowledge pays off, what successes they achieve in working with horses and I am happy about it, and I know that they will pass it on. Here special thanks to Ameleka Charyga. Of course… it’s not always colorful. It is mainly about human characters and their incompatibility. Sometimes there were sad break-ups, some doors closed and it was hard, but others were opening. I had a period when I decided to quit working with horses, I lasted 3 months and then my own Arabian stallion named The Witcher turned out to be the cure, and he is still with me today. It was the beginning of my path, then I met all the good people who opened their hearts and opportunities to me. I think that I am realizing my dreams and projects, everything that I once dared to ask from the universe comes to me slowly. I’m on my way… I feel so. I think I am very brave and often determined, hardworking, but also empathetic. It is important for me to build success based on relationships with people and understanding the environment in which I work at the moment. Because the key to success is a team of satisfied and committed employees who feel appreciated, also financially. I hope so, and that’s why we talk together. My story is not over yet, but I think the horses will stay with me for the rest of my life. Life writes various scenarios for us, it is not always easy, but also nothing happens without a reason. By going our own way, we gain experience, and it is priceless. It really teaches us to discern the values of our lives. The most important thing is to follow your own heart, courage to leave places and people with whom we are not comfortable. It is important to surround ourselves with people with whom we can grow, feeling their love and support.

In the hosting country Austria since many years a free training twice a year by Austrian Equestrian Federation is organized. Result: Many good riders! The Super Bowl for the Best &ation (counting the 3 best riders results together) stayed in AUT. This year some of the ECAHO Registries started to support their participants. Italy, Switzerland. 66 nominated horses ofthe highest level ! Some could win more than one European Championship GOLD Medal

Since many years this horse is trained by Susanne Schuh and owned by Gut Fronleitenhofbred by Michałów Stud Poland. This success is followed by CH SILVERLEIGHT & Verena Böckle, GER with two GOLD Medals. Reining & Ranch Riding. Bred by the Böckle Family and owned & trained by Verena. This two and all the other very successful riders/horses are competing during the year in open competitions for training.

PRIME KOSSACK & Tara Den Hartog. Prix St Georg S Dressage. In the first Championships &ewcomer PRIME did not so well, but day by day his form comes back and the concurrence could not reach finally his score! Tara followed the footprints of her

Farest way, one of the Special Trophies went again to the Danish team 1. 450 km was one way to come to Austria. Mouammar & Helene Byrne take the award Two more special trophies: Oldest horse in competition was 24!! years old E&ZO with Tina Schatz, AUT, they could also

During all four days temperature was very high, but at night it cooled down and the open stables in solid wood , with water help the horses to relax. Two open roofcovered large arenas gave shade! Saturday for all participants a very special Gulasch was offered on invitation of the organizer in front of the finals European Championships on Sunday, after the difficult

ur fascination with horses is as old as Art itself. Around 17, 000 years ago, the artists in Lascaux sought to capture the animals around them in all their power and terrifying beauty. The horses and other creatures on the cave walls are nothing if not wild. In more recent times, Western art has reflected the taming of animals as part of our subjugation of ature.
In George Stubbs' anatomically perfect portraits, horses are objects of great beauty and strength but remain posed, almost static like studio models. Yet we value horses for their speed. Few artists capture movement as gracefully as Degas. It is no surprise that he was drawn to horses and races as a subject. In Degas' racing world (the title of an unfinished documentary that inspired an outstanding ifhard-tofind soundtrack by Duke Ellington), the horses are part of human society.

With shoes, saddles and riders, they exist for our entertainment.
MonZen realises that horses’ wild nature has never gone away. The animals he paints are not tools or models for human use. They are "steaming and glistening under the flow oflight, " as described by poet Ted Hughes, another artist who saw and depicted animals for what they are, not what we make of them. MonZen's striking colours and unique geometries remind us that this is an alien species we can never truly know. But, thanks to his vision, we can admire them in all their untamed nature. Horses were here before us and will no doubt outlast us, as Ted Hughes put it and MonZen captures on canvas, "Hearing the horizons endure. " Wild they have always been and wild they will remain. utto Arabi was present in Tierpark Ströhen for the “International Days for Arabian Horses” as normally happens since years. A wonderful location and, as always, great hospitality and lots of fun in Ströhen were the ingredients for this fantastic event and we at Tutto Arabi don’t want to miss a single edition ofit!
In the 2 days ofthe event we had the pleasure to assist at the European Show and International B-Show (Ecaho), the Championships which were part of the Arabian Horse Days held on 10th and 11th July and greatly organized by Ismer Family. Ismers are a big family oflong legacy in horses and animals: the grandfather of(ils, RolfIsmer was the founder ofthe Tierpark Zoo. Since 2007 Mr. (ils Ismer is the owner of the Zoo and the Farm.

This year, a driving force in the Ismer family, Mother Almuth, sadly passed away. In a video tribute to the dear mother, the most beautiful and touching images of Almuth's life spent with her beloved and grown-up zoo animals were shown. It was a touching moment for everyone. Yes, because over the years we all got to know this woman who looked frail but had the strength of the tigers she raised. She will always remain in our hearts. The zoo is right in front of the family home in Ströhen, where the Ismer family likes to host friends. This event is always filled with special moments such as the special presentation of the stallions. This year in particular the two included in the breeding program: SA(TORI(I (Vervaldee X Lady Madonna) and IS EXXPU (Qr Marc X Is Exelsia). (ext, the show of dancing camels and horses and the longawaited party, this year outdoors under the awning.

This is just one of many small details that made the “International Days For Arabian Horses” very special! Special like the entrance of judges on the back of the elephants and the elephants performances. The contact with animals who live in the zoo, offered by this special and unusual location, make this event even more touching and extraordinary. Ströhen as always made record of entries with 98 Horses in total between the 2 shows. For the European Show they have been invited to judge Mr. Klaus Beste from Germany, Mr. Mark Ismer Germany, Mr. Jerzy Zbyszewski from Usa, and Mrs. Anna Stefaniuk from Poland. While classes for the International B show took place in the afternoon with a new pool of judges: Mr. Jerzy Bialobok (Poland) Dr. Gianmarco Aragno (Italy), Mr. Eric Gear (France) and Mrs. Marianne Tengstedt from Denmark. It is confirmed also this year Mrs Lizette Svensson Ringmaster. DC was Mrs Line Brunsgaard (Denmark), Mrs. Barbara Pfistner (Switzerland). Special voice ofthe show by Mr. Erik Blaak and super music by Mr. Lars Grootswagers both from (etherlands. Mr. Ismers started with Arabian Horses almost 60 years
ago. The stud was founded with the purchase of the first purebred Arabian mare in late 1959 by Rolf Ismer. His son Holger developed the pin over 40 years to its current size. Today the farm is run by the third generation of the family, Dr. (ils Ismer. It is the largest private stud of Arabian horses in Europe. Only the Polish State Studs have such a history. More than 100 mares and several stallions make up the stud’s breeding stock. Ismers has many good friends around the world and the Ismers family's breeding tradition is present all over the world. They also organize endurance races. The place is perfect to host any kind of equestrian event. We want to thank the whole Ismer Family for the warmth that made us spend one of the most beautiful weekends of the year. We invite you all to Germany for a visit to Ismer Farm and Tierpark Zoo, where you will surely have a great day to keep in your mind and heart. In 2015 Giancarlo Petriglia exhibits his creations at La Triennale in Milan for the exhibition “Il nuovo vocabolario della moda italiana” curated by Vittorio Linfante and Paola Bertola. 2015: Winner of the contest held by Italian Fashion Chamber and White in Milan for the creation of an accessory for the Lancia Ypsilon (official sponsor of the event) that will become part of merchandising online Giancarlo worked for 4 year as Artistic Director for the Piquadro collections. Furthermore, he followed the leather goods design directions for other brands such Moreschi, Trussardi and Cruciani, just to name a few and curated the relaunch as Creative Director of the Brand “Luana Italy”.

“I don’t want to create simple bags, I want to create “BAGS”, written in quotation marks and all capital” is the designer’s statement, which breaks with the classic canons of leather goods, in favor of a search for heterogeneous models and proposals that cannot be classified according to the codified schemes; real works of art that are detached from the ordinary, which reveal an inherent changing and transformable nature.
