HARAS EL LEGADO An objective view towards quality, an accurate eye for the best by Mario Braga | photos by Tupa
Located in the foothills of the traditional city of Cuenca in the beautiful country of Ecuador, Haras El Legado has ended a fantastic show season in 2024, winning the Filly and Mare National Championship in Chile (with Lonco Bianca and HP Sawari) as well as the same championship classes in their homeland at the Cuenca Fair (with Lonco Bianca and Lonco Tara). This year seems to be equally promising, after their win of the Gold Champion Mare tittle once again at the Chilean National Show (once again with HP Sawari), just a few weeks ago. Two different mares with two different paths sharing a common start: the Golden podium at the Chilean National Arabian Horse Championships. That is how Haras El Legado is somehow connecting the future of
two exquisite mares combining their journey into the farm´s own trajectory. Lonco Bianca and HP Sawari are indeed two very distinct individuals, while bearing in their own unique way an abundant amount of refinement and quality, a trait that has guided the decisions of Haras El Legado´s owners Jorge Carrasco and Fred Heimbach when it comes to building the foundation of their breeding program. The first one is the exquisite grey filly Lonco Bianca, the 2024 Chilean National Gold Champion filly presented by Neto Soldani and bred by the Duch Family of Haras Lonco. Possessing an extreme refinement and movement, traits that caught the attention of many foreign breeders already, she has an undeniable international appeal.

Bianca´s mother HL Sophia is by Brazilian and Chilean National Champion Stallion Matisse FM, one of the first sons of Marwan Al Shaqab ever imported to South America. Further in Bianca´s dam line through her grandmother El Palenque Montserrat, a blend of the bloodlines from the best of North and South America greatest horses such as Padron, Gai Parada, Menes, RSD Dark Victory, Magnum Psyche and

Aladdin, proves that a solid foundation is fundamental when it comes to aiming for the best. After her impressive wins in Chile and Ecuador she is now headed to the Brazilian Nationals where she will once again and most definitely win the hearts of one of the worlds’ toughest audiences, with her huge black eyes and her ethereal beauty.

The second one is the reigning Chilean National Champion Mare, as a matter of fact a two times Chilean National Gold Champion Mare, HP Sawari a dramatically beautiful liver chestnut that has the public fall in love with her statuesque beauty every time she is out in the ring. program of the Bulnes family and their Haras Panquehue. She is owned in a partnership between them and Haras El Legado. Her pedigree is a lesson of who is who in Chilean breeding. Her father is the renowned HP Ali, also bred by the Bulnes family, he is the sire of many National and International Champions, including HL El Ganador, Aziz MAM, Samoah Serondella and Ragnar. Sawari´s mother is a daughter of Johann El Jamaal, bred by Haras Meia Lua and Alborada Anastacia bred by Haras Alborada, who in turn is by the Brazilian Bey Shadow TGS, one of the pillars of Haras La Laguna from the Hasbun family and Om El Katana, a daughter of the world famous Sanadik El Shaklan, bred by the
legendary Om El Arab, in the United States. One has to recognize the keen eye of Jorge and Fred by choosing these amazing mares as a foundation for their breeding program. Moreover, one should also revere the breeders in Chile for producing these two elite individuals. And on a personal note, being a Brazilian myself, I can´t help but wish for Lonco Bianca´s success and hope that other Brazilians can have the fortune witness her quality, if she confirms her presence at our upcoming 2025 Brazilian Nationals. I will be sheering for her, and the South American team of friends from Chile, Brazil and Ecuador who support her, from wherever I shall be at the moment she enters the ring. q

Simone Bergamaschi Text by Giorgia Mauri
With his photographs Simone Bergamaschi tells stories, with a single image he has the ability to take the viewer to unexplored places,
ph. Musa Almomen
to atmospheres charged with emotional tension, right to the centre of the action, and from there, from this vantage point, he gives the viewers a new scenery through a small detail that had escaped them at first glance, a detail that the eye had absorbed into the scene but that the senses had not yet unravelled, whose meaning had not yet been brought into focus. Bergamaschi’s ability to construct these scenes of reality in a single shot is astonishing not only for the precision of the narrative intent, but also for the invitation to explore the image, to take the time to understand the connection between the stimuli given, to give substance to the narrative suggested by the artist, to follow the steps that lead from one’s own reality to the reality constructed with such mastery by Bergamaschi. In his photographs there is everything: there is emotion, the sound of gunshots, the clatter of hooves on the ground, the laughter of children, the beating of tribal drums, the shouts of the crowd during the show and then the jubilation at the award ceremony. But there are also the silences. There is the tension of waiting before entering the ring, there are the quiet moments of transition from one state of mind to another, the suspended moments when the only sounds are the gentle footsteps, a heartbeat, the flapping of wings. It is there that Bergamaschi begins the story, pushing the emotional tension beyond the current reality and beginning the journey of discovery, the human journey of reflection on what lies in between, on how far a moment can be stretched, on what and how many emotions can fit into a moment.

The Virtuous Circle of Soul & Harvest
Only

The All Time Leading Aristocrat Mare born in Brazil & 5x Brazilian National Champion
by Mario Braga | photos by Alessio Azzali, Renato Sorvilo, Nate White
Haras Serondella: the virtuous circle of sow and harvest It is 4:30 in the morning and it is still dark at Haras Serondella. Nevertheless, one could spot the silhouettes of Fabio, Felipe, Fernando and Pedro heading to the stalls with their beloved dog Simba following their steps. It is the eve of the Brazilian National Show and they are going to personally load their contenders in the truck that will carry their horses (alongside their dreams) to the show grounds. This is a ritual that has been repeated year after year by the Amorosino family. That is, for me, an undisputable token of their love and commitment to the Arabian horse. More than that; it should help the fellow reader in understanding the force behind their longevity in this industry. Love and commitment in motion indeed! It is my honor to have been entrusted with the task of, once again, writing a new chapter in this amazing journey. Last weekend I had the chance of spending some more time with the Amorosino family who were also hosting the worldfamous photographer Alessio Azzali, so I had the privilege of watching him work during his photoshoot while revisiting some Serondella horses and getting to know many new ones.
The breeding program and the craft of the mare families There always a lot to report when it comes to Haras Serondella´s breeding program for there are so many layers of work and research that one single text would never be able to cover. This information has to be acknowledged with the proper focus and 58 - Haras Serondella

detail. So even if my initial goal this time around was to cover the development of the new foal crops, with special attention to the offspring of the chief sires Vision Serondella (AF Maden x Only Serondella) and Royal Dominion (Dominic M x Lumiar Ethna), after all the long chats, horse viewings and walks to the pastures, this story has taken a flight of its own, making a stop at the wonderful foal crops indeed, but landing in the sacred realm of the craft and preservation of the mare families and its dam lines. We have already tapped on this subject last year when the family of Only Serondella (AAS Elishahh x Jelabie Serondella) was widely presented with her many champion offspring as well as the foaling of the first grand get. While this was a pivotal step in presenting the “Serondella look” planned by the Amorosinos. The fact that Only has become the leading Brazilian Aristocrat born in Brazil ever since, and the single one ever to become National Champion with crowned National Champions offspring at the same show is a feat that deserves yet a highlight on this righteously distinguished mare and her amazing family. From that point on, it makes it necessary now that not only we bring some of the other incredible established mare families to the spotlight but give them their proper credit in perpetuating this goal, by crossing them with Only Serondella´s base line, so to speak, and ultimately by also crossing them with each other. The ancestral alchemy of handling mare families has been somewhat forgotten for several years now. In the past it has been the ultimate reference guide that many important breeders have used to make their breeding decisions. It began with the Bedouin tribes of the Euphrates, going through some greats such as Crabbet Park in England, the Polish State Studs, El Zahara Stud in Egypt, Om el Arab Stud in Germany and the U.S. and Haras Meia Lua in Brazil, just to name a few. Nonetheless a renaissance of the old ways of working with the mare families is now taking place at Serondella. Much has been said about the modern Arabian horse. But increasingly few people acknowledge that we would never have the present if Haras Serondella - 59

it weren´t for two thousand years of right decisions taken in the past that allowed us to be where we are now. Thankfully for Fabio, he has realized even before the birth of both Haras Serondella and his three sons (who are now and integral part of it) the treasure hidden in between the lines of a pedigree, especially with its mares. He has put the work to study and master the subject. And so have his sons, I must say. What we are witnessing at this point is the blossoming of decades of research through the construction of a master breeding plan, based on the selection of the best mare families worldwide, including the creation of strong sire lines based on them. It is no surprise for me that their harvest has been increasingly great, by measuring their four consecutive wins as the best breeders at the Brazilian Nationals, after their glorious return to the show ring, in the last four years and most importantly, their latest three foal crops.
Vision Serondella and Royal Dominion: the answer is on the ground!
ph. Azzali
As I mentioned before, my initial task when visiting
Camillah serondella
Baronezah serondella
(Vision Serondella x Rhavina Serondella, by Gazal al Shaqab) 6th generation
Serondella this time was to see the development of the three latest foal crops comprised of horses with the A, B and C initials. But make no mistake. This is their second turn around the A-to-Z circuit. I shall focus of the lates two, since in my previous article the four A´s achievements have been righteously remembered. For those who could not read it, the A generation was comprised of: Acqua Serondella (Abbas al Ventur x Samoah Serondella), Amir Serondella (Santorini x Simply Serondella), Azzam Serondella (Quasim CRH x HDF Varsovia) and Almaah Serondella (GT Shardh x Ultraah Serondella), they have all gathered National Champion Titles. Both Vision Serondella and Royal Dominion have only around ten foals each so far, with three of Royal´s babies being born at Haras Panorama in Rio de Janeiro as a result from a long-term partnership created between the Amorosino family and Marcos Quintela and his son Eduardo. An incredible high percentage in both stallions get indicate that the majority of these babies will be destined for the show rings. From the B generation, two by Vision Serondella were in the lineup for Alessio´s photo shoot. I have seen both of them during my last visit: Baronezah Serondella (x Rhavina Serondella) and Bhaarez Serondella (x Arantxa Arabco). Both were bay with extreme refinement, show atitude and balance. Baronezah is the daughter of none other than the Brazilian Gold National Champion Mare Rhavina Serondella, to whom I will dedicate an entire section further ahead.
Bhareez Serondella: making his mark from the very beginning Bhaarez Serondella has been a star from the get go. At a very young age he was crowned 2024 Brazilian Gold National Champion Junior Junior colt. A rare unanimous win at one of the most prestigious Arabian horse shows in the world. One of the first babies ever born by his sire Vision Serondella, he is being groomed by the Amorosino family as the future herd sire of their program. Haras Serondella - 61

His mother Arantxa Arabco is a rare Brazilian born daughter of the World Champion Stallion QR Mark out of the Aristocrat FA El Shawan daughter Shavanna el Madan, a mare with a tradition of producing herself amazing stallions has now confirmed her ability even more brilliantly through her daughter Arantxa. Bhareez has a distinguished aura about himself and according to Fabio he has always stood out, from a youngster in the paddock to a ring filed with the best colts in Brazil, from where he left with his unanimous win. His dramatic beauty seems to improve with age and he is likely to be headed to claim yet another victory at this year´s Nationals. The Amorosino family believes so much in him that, even as a two-year-old, they say that he has the potential to go all the way, and so far, no offer shall be big enough to take him away.
The new foal crops: defining the paths and shaping the future It is interesting to notice that after over a year of watching

the growth of the Vision babies, the Amorosino family is convinced that the proper generation to appraise the impact of Only Serondella is through her grand get, even more than her own sons and daughters. From my personal point of view, after seeing the grand get twice in less than a year, this assumption is spot on. From Vision´s production the three youngsters,Bhaarez, Baronezah and the enchanting grey Camillah Serondella (x Ueffa Serondella by El Jahez), seem to be an even more sophisticated version of their sire. But there are other fine examples coming from Vision´s maternal sisters: Amir Serondella is out of Simply Serondella (by TS Khidam Al Shawan and who has been exported to Al Shaqab Stud) while Acqua Serondella is out of Samoah Serondella (by HP Ali). Both of them have National titles to their belts. But the greatest surprise might come from the three daughters of Only Serondella whose offspring are yet to be shown. Uniccah Serondella (by AF Maden), a full sister to Vision as well as Rhaydee Serondella (by El Tino) have foaled respectively a daughter and a son by Royal Dominion that show incredible promise, whereas her other daughter Zarza Serondella (by Royal Asad) has just delivered a very special filly by Abbas al Ventur who has the potential to follow her sister´s Acqua big footsteps.
Amir Serondella: A star rising quietly in the Serondella constellation It is important to bring light to and to write further about Amir Serondella. More than an honorable maternal grandson of the matriarch Only Serondella, he is a star of his own for series of reasons. First and foremost is the fact that he brings a whole different look of classical features to the farm´s equation, probably since his sire Santorini represents a blood source that is found nowhere else in Brazil other than at Haras Serondella. Amir is a young bay stallion of extreme refinement. His face is exquisite and his body is smooth and balanced. His trot is animated and his tail carriage is a straight flag like we see in paintings of the desert war horses. His unique pedigree brings a new perspective to the breeding program. He has proven himself in the ring by winning the Silver National Junior Championship in 2023. The Amorosinos are aware of Amir´s potential and this year they are breeding a handful of excellent mares to him, including the Brazilian National Champion Mare Simonetta LF.
The C is for Champion: the amazing quality of Serondella´s latest C generation

And then there were the Royal Dominion´s on the generation C roaster: two fantastic blacks and a superstar bay filly,
Royal Dominion (Dominic M x Lumiar Ethna, by RFI Maktub)
respectively Calleri Serondella, Ceciliah Serondella and Celline Serondella. Interestingly they are all out of DA Valentino granddaughters through El Tino and Vaalente. Calleri Serondella is a magnificent black colt of stallion quality, out of the above mentioned Rhaydee Serondella, who is likely to compete with his two other paternal siblings at the upcoming Brazilian National Show. He is the first-born product of the Dominion and a daughter of Only Serondella and prove that this cross has worked really well. Since his birth, Vision´s full sister and hence another daughter of Only Serondella have also foaled a beautiful daughter by Royal while spending this foaling season at Haras Panorama. The back and forth cross between daughters of Vision to Dominic and eventually the other way around as well, is part of a conscious breeding plan that takes into consideration what their pedigrees and their physical attributes may be able to complement one another. Ceciliah Serondella, also of black color, is out of the Vaalente daughter Ruby HVP who is out of the Brazilian National Champion and Las Vegas Champion Mare Marcaaysa FA, by QR Mark. Her black coat and her incredible type are similar to her grandmother´s, the black Ali Jamaal daughter Jamaara FA an Arabian Horse World Aristocrat. Her mother is the great Bey Shah daughter NV Tiara Bey, who is also the mother of U.S and Scottsdale Champion colt Psytanium (by Padron´s Psyche) and Jamaara´s full brother Talmaal FA. She also traces to the famed Rodania from Crabbet. Like her two other siblings, Cecilia is a great mover and loves to show. Celinne Serondella has been recently weaned and stabled, nevertheless once she starts to move you realize she is the consummate show horse. Her neck is carried high and graceful, her face is exquisite with the most beautiful and large eyes imaginable, her legs are long, her body is very balanced and her tail carriage is high and straight. She reminds me of the top fillies that used to win in Scottsdale back when there were classes with over 60 entries. She comes from a line of Brazilian Aristocrat mares, starting with her grandmother Sahara Daghirah (by Denali BHF), a past Brazilian National Gold Champion Filly who also produced the Brazilian National Gold Champion colt and the reigning U.S. National Champion Stallion Emir Sahara (by Emerald J) and the exquisite U.S. and Brazilian National Champion filly OFW Magic Wan daughter Sahara Dawarah. Daghirah´s mother Sahara Gallina (by JJ Señor Magnum), was also a Brazilian National Gold Champion filly and mother to a Brazilian National Champion Stallion, in this case, Wandan el Madan (by OFW Magic Wan). She will probably be the headliner of a future article for her looks are as special as her generation peers. Elektra has also two daughters in Urugay. Her blood is perpetuated at Serondella by both Chammur and Bambinah Serondella (by WH Justice). very important step that will determine the paths of many other future steps in the years to come for it explains and situates the role of one of the major players in this game.
Royal Dominion´s trajectory and the X factor Lumiar Ethna I have known and admired Lumiar Ethna since the time that she was a weaning at Haras Lumiar owned by Antonio Carlos Rego, who I visited very often since, luckily for me, he had his farm near Rio de Janeiro. Ethna´s mother, Evening Star TGS (Lumiar Amadeus x Promise V by Huckeberry Bey) was, alongside CA Sabrina (the mother of Lumiar Amadeus), an all-time favorite of mine at Haras Lumiar. The year was 2012 and Evening Star has had three embryos that year. Three fillies, two being by RFI Maktub, namely Lumiar Ethna and Lumiar Elektra, and a third one named Lumiar Evitha being by Ryad el Jamaal. Though they were all very good, Lumiar Ethna was always a standout, being already a super star with her black coat and the beauty from her mother Evening Star and her beautiful black grandmother, the Brazilian National Champion Mare Promise V. Promise V had a successful show career in the U.S. winning her age class at Scottsdale and a U.S National Top Ten Futurity Filly title. She was then imported to Brazil by Georges Naoum of Haras TGS who presented her to her Brazilian National Champion Mare Title. After producing some babies with his famous Bey Shah son Shahllenger, he made an interesting deal with Haras Lumiar that would change the course of history of Arabian Horse breeding for good. It was decided that Georges best mare, Promise V, would be bred to Lumiar Amadeus while CA Sabrina (the mother of Lumiar Amadeus) the best mare of Haras Lumiar would be bred to Shahllenger. The result were two grey fillies, one of them being Evening Star TGS. And the rest is history… As future would confirm, Lumiar Ethna was destined for greatness and she won hearts and major titles in every country she has been in including Brazil, Chile and the U.S.A. Though deceased very early, before her tragic loss, she gifted the world with Haras Serondella - 67

two very special colts that are helping to redefine the perception of beauty within the Arabian Horse Community, both of them bred by Royal Arabians. The first of them has always been in the front line for their breeders and owners, both as a show horse and as a sire. Royal Asad (by El Tino) has won in major shows in several countries before becoming a sire of distinction, with many champion get that have a broad appeal, pleasing the taste of both European, Middle Eastern, South American and North American breeders in the present time. For that reason, the other son, and by all means they were equally wonderful in their own special ways, has been kept somewhat away from the general international public since his birth in Brazil. But a twist of fate could have changed the course that life has taken. With the sale of Royal Asad to Hanaya Stud, the spot of chief sire was vacant at Royal Arabians and it would not be a wrong assumption to think that his beautiful brother Royal Dominion, even though still very young, could become a likely candidate to replace him in his absence. It seems that the Amorosinos might have had a similar reflection on that regard… Dominion had been named Brazilian National Gold Champion Colt in his first public appearance (coincidentally the Silver Champion that year was no other than Vision Serondella) and since then he was much praised for his quality and beauty by the Brazilian breeders who saw him, including the Amorosino family that very early on placed him under their radar. Time went by and Fabio could not take Royal Dominion of his mind. His look was so unique and it seemed to be quite a fit for the Serondella look that at that point was still a dream. Pedigree wise it complemented the existing lines perfectly well and the fact that both of his parents spent their youth in Brazil and many of his ancestors were no strangers to the Brazilian breeders, seemed to make a bet on this young colt a safer one. But there was just one problem: their owners were Royal Arabians, one of the largest breeders in the world, who did not want and let alone needed to sell him. In the meantime, Fabio´s plans for Dominion became Felipe´s, Fernando´s and Pedro´s goals as well, and at this point it became a family mission to have him. A period of long negotiations was in place with Rodolfo 68 - Haras Serondella

Guzzo in 2023 whose plans were to take him to the U.S. and plan his show career there while he was still a colt. Since Royal Asad was still at Royal at that point the team at Royal Arabians decided that it could not hurt to hear what the Amorosino´s had to say. A race against time began in order to keep the cot in Brazil, and after a long exchange of conditions and counter offers the colt´s owners received an offer they just could not refuse, and Dominion became finally a part of the Serondella team. According to Fabio, it was the most expensive individual he had ever acquired in his life. A wise decision nevertheless. But back to the mares… An interesting new aspect of the Serondella breeding program at this time is the start of their development of an international presence of their horses through the making of embryos from three of the mares that were recently exported by them: Simply Serondella in Qatar, Almaah Serondella in the U.S.A and Barillah Serondella in Uruguay. The faith in the strength of the mare families developed at the farm is the motivation to test that abroad with international stallion otherwise not available in Brazil. Since my last year´s visit I felt that they were some truly extraordinary mares have earned the distinction of carrying the legacy of their important families within the farm´s program with several great offspring to sustain their importance. Important new blood has also been incorporated through strategic purchases of selected mares and outstanding embryos from famous breeding programs. Some of these amazing mares and their counterpart ancestors who brought relevance to their families are: •
Bonitah Serondella, the muti champion daughter of GT Shardh is representing the blood of the Arisocrats Nahla el Madan and AF Gandola, through her mother Queen Elsa FWM;
•
AF Ode (by AF Jabor) – Representing the blood of AF Odessa, mother of the great sire AF Maden and the blood the Aristocrats of Haras Fortaleza Apricot Lady (in tail female) as wel as Love Melody, Delta Venus and Wind Charm;

Ultraa is the mother of the beautiful Almaah Serondella (by GT Shardh) who is the reigning Brazilian Gold National Champion Filly and exported to Rae Dawn Arabians in the U.S. Ultraah is coming back to the ring to claim for the ultimate Golden title at the upcoming Brazilian Nationals;
•

70 - Haras Serondella
Rhavina Serondella: the unraveled journey of a righteous queen The story of Rhavina Serondella has been told to me by Fabio in my last two visits. I always hesitated about writing it since hearing it was such a graphic journey that I did not want to somehow diminish the experience by only writing it. But I guess the time has come. It starts with an embryo purchase at Haras Villa dos Pinheiros. The mare was the famous WH Justice daughter RP Joharra, a mare of exquisite beauty that by that time have not yet produced a foal as fantastic or better than her. A series of debates started between Fabio, his sons and an invisible character that has appeared a lot in our latest conversations: intuition. It seems rather abstract at first to place intuition among some other more concrete decision elements. But more and more I learned to respect its mention. Especially when it comes from long time breeders, such as Fabio. True intuition, in my view, is kind of a grace that is only granted to those who earned it by their knowledge and hard work. An invisible compass to help those deserving few braves to navigate in the fog of uncertainty. It seemed that intuition played a pivotal role when Fabio chose Gazal Al Shaqab for the embryo. A decision that was not at all unanimous among the family, for Gazal´s breeding was extremely rare and there were other mares at Serondella who could benefit from the breeding more than Joharra, according to some from the family. Nevertheless, the decision was made and almost a year late it has proven to be a right one. A gorgeous bay filly was born and her name was Rhavina Serondella. Rhavina has been a standout since an early age, but she was not very fond of the show ring routine. In her first two outings at Nationals, despite being miserable and unwilling, she managed to place fourth in her filly class and later earn the Reserve Young Mare Championship title. The family decision after that was to let her rest and be her beautiful self at the farm. But once again Fabio´s intuition kept whispering “It´s not over. She is supposed to win it”. After a hiatus from the show ring with Rhavina being already a Senior Mare, right before the Nationals entry´s deadline, Fabio decided to call Michel Byatt who had recently stated that he would no longer show any horses, to ask him if he would accept to show Rhavina (it should be a secret) for a last time. It seems that intuition has been also visiting Michael for not only he accepted the task of having Rhavina as his last horse in the show ring but also declared that she was one of Gazal´s best daughters in the world. A major endorsement indeed. So, when all was decided and the set was staged. Michael came to Brazil to show just her and up to the moment of her entrance no one knew who was presenting her. Moments earlier Michael spent a lot of time with Rhavina in her stall as if taking in all the history that led him to that moment. He knew that the presentation would not be a ride in the park, but he also knew what to do. The gates were opened Rhavina was up to some serious competition. She had been out for some time whereas other mares have been competing and winning more recently, building a strong base of fans behind them. For the Amorosino´s it was a highlight in their own journey, after so many years of involvement in the business. The time stopped when Rhavina and Michael entered the ring. The presentation, the cheering, the judges and the crowd entangled with the emotions of Fabio and his family. Rhavina did not seem especially cheerful but Michael had it all absolutely planned and anticipated that possibility. When it was time to show her in a circle with the other mares, he did the opposite of what all the other handlers were doing. He took her far away and not closer to the judges. It worked. Rhavina felt comforted and showed everything that she had had within herself on those final minutes, and the judges… they followed her all the way to the end of the rail. Rhavina came out as the Golden National Champion mare that night, fulfilling the promise of who she was from the beginning. Time went by and Rhavina became a great broodmare, with four beautiful daughters, one of which already a National Champion Filly (Zennah Serondella by Dominic M), and the other three by GT Shardh, Abbas Al Ventur and Vision Serondella are all being retained at the farm for showing and breeding. It would seem a perfect end to a fairy tale story, but lately intuition has been visiting Fabio again. “It´s not over yet” she says “The whole world will know her.” And so, it seems though nothing is confirmed, that Rhavina might be stepping once again very soon in the show ring for a world audience to witness her royalty. Truth or rumor? Only time will tell. As we approach the end of this chapter of the Haras Serondella story, one wonders about what else is there to tell. I should not give you any spoilers, but be prepared for two new plot twists in this amazing story. The first is about an exciting new stallion (who is likely to be a flea beaten grey) whose addition is already being contemplated during the precious chats at the family meals, to shake things down at the farm. The second is a heavenly place that is being prepared to host the new Haras Serondella that is going to be presented to the public very soon. I was one of the few who had the fortune to visit the place. It is really amazing! So, I guess that´s all for now. Stay tuned and see you all soon ! q Haras Serondella - 71

“Everything came together beautifully for the 70th Anniversary of the Scottsdale show. The horses are the stars of our show and this year the quality was spectacular in both the halter and performance divisions. I am proud and honored to lead our board of directors. We thank everyone who contributed to the organization and running of the show. It was a huge success, thanks to your efforts, which once again made Scottsdale “The Greatest Horse Show on Earth.” ~ Paul Glans, AAHA President

SHOWS AND EVENTS This year, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, also know as known as “The Greatest Horse Show On Earth”, celebrated its 70th anniversary. When the Scottsdale show was first held, back in 1955, it was a gathering of Arabian horse breeders, owners, trainers, and people who loved the breed. Although the number of participants, horses, and spectators have increased dramatically since then, the essence of the event remains the same today. The allure of the desert and the promise of sunshine and beautiful horses attracts visitors and competitors from around the world. The atmosphere at the show is electric! With seven arenas all filled with gorgeous and talented horses vying for the coveted title of Scottsdale Champion in halter and a large number of performance disciplines, there is something for every one. The judges for the 2025 International Breeders classes: Mario Braga, Richard Wright, Brooke Fuchs, Eiad Safady & Joseph Polo
The judges for the 2025 Scottsdale Mare & Filly classes: Jeff Schall, Kelly Elm & Scott Brumfield
The judges for the 2025 Scottsdale Stallion & Colt classes: John Lambert, Corky Sutton & John Ryan

The exciting activities centered around Arabian horses extend far beyond the boundaries of the WestWorld show grounds. Scottsdale has long been considered the center of Arabian horse breeding and showing in the United States with some of the largest and most influential breeders, as well as some of the most beautiful farms, calling this city home and they are proud to welcome their equine guests to this amazing desert oasis they call home. Many farms opened their doors to welcome guests to presentations and lavish parties with their sleek, groomed, glamorous, and manicured horses as the guests of honor. If you want to see some of the very best Arabian horses and learn more about them, Scottsdale is THE place to be. Although there are numerous performance divisions for both professional and amateur competitors, this showcase features the main champions of the open halter and breeding classes. With over 1,500 horses entered in the show, there just isn’t room to present each individual. There were three judging panels for the classes in this showcase. The judges for the international classes included Mario Braga of Brazil, Eiad Safady of the Netherlands, and Richard Wright, Brooke Fuchs, and Joseph Polo of the U.S.A. Jeff Schall, Kelly Elm, and Scott Brumfield judged the mares and fillies classes while John Lambert, Corky Sutton, and John Ryan judged the stallions and colts. The experience, expertise and integrity of these individuals are critical to the success of the show and they did an exceptional job.
“My favorite classes to judge at Scottsdale are the fillies and mares, and this year did not disappoint! Standing in the ring on Sunday morning for the championships was simply breathtaking! This group of fillies and mares were athletic and beautiful, and made the decisions very difficult! It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of this process with such great horses, talented handlers, and proud owners!” ~ Scott Brumfield, USA
SHOWS AND EVENTS Based just on the horses featured here, in this showcase of halter and breeding champions, there were several sires that stood out with multiple champion offspring. Once again, Dominic M (Da Vinci FM x Rosa La Valentina by DA Valentino) was quite dominant, siring Masarat, the Scottsdale Junior Champion Colt; HT Lunatica, the Scottsdale Senior Champion Mare; Maia AS, the Scottsdale Reserve Junior Champion Filly; and Stardom Sky, The Scottsdale Reserve Champion Senior Stallion. Another stallion that stood out as a sire with multiple champions at the show was the late Ibn Farid ( RFI Farid x Asawir by Marajj). Ibn Farid passed away in Florida, during the Scottsdale show. It was a shock and a tragic loss of this exception young stallion. His champion offspring in this showcase include International Arabian Breeder Silver Champion Junior Filly Sweet Magnolia NA, International Arabian Breeder Silver Champion Junior Colt GP Beau and the filly that was the talk of the show, the unanimous First Place Yearling Filly and unanimous Scottsdale Junior Champion Filly, Rohara Aria Heiress. Ibn Farid’s sire RFI Unique also sired multiple champions at the show including International Arabian Breeder Gold Champion Junior Colt Eras EKA and Scottsdale Senior Champion Stallion FI Pavarotti. It’s plain to see the international influence in the sires of these champions and there are more highly acclaimed international sires who sired champions at the show including World Champion Emerald J (QR Marc x Emandordia), Scottsdale Champion Stallion AJ Radman (AJ Mardan x AJ Rahifa), and Scottsdale Champion Royal Asad (El Tino x Lumiar Ethna). Each of these stallions sired at least two champions featured in this showcase. Owning a champion is a tremendous honor. However, breeding a champion is often the result of decades of efforts, blood, sweat, and tears, significant financial investment, heartache and hope. It is an achievement of a lifetime. I always try to include the breeders of the champions in the show coverages I provide because I believe breeders are often overlooked and yet, without them, where would we be? So when you browser this showcase of champions, you will see their breeders, owners and handlers. In reviewing the champions in this showcase, I found most were bred by individuals or farms with just one of their horses earning a top spot, which I believe proves the point of how difficult it is to produce a Scottsdale champion-quality horse. These breeders are to be congratulated for their achievements. However, topping that honor, at least two breeders could claim the notoriety of producing more than one, including Aspire Arabians who bred the International Arabian Breeder Gold Champion Senior Stallion, Ernando AA (Emerald J x H Embrace H) and the International Arabian Breeder Bronze Champion Yearling Filly, Breathless AA (Aria La Croixx x Hp Breslavia).
Cindy McGown and Mark Davis of Royal Arabians are also responsible for producing two or more champions at the show including International Arabian Breeder Gold Champion Senior Mare, Royal Black Moon (Royal Asad x Seduction HBV) and the Scottsdale Senior Champion Mare, HT Lunatica (Dominic M X BM Venecia). Every champion-producing breeder deserves our recognition and our thanks. However, I would like to shine the spotlight on one particular breeder, Roxann Hart of Rohara Arabians, the breeder of this year’s Unanimous Scottsdale First Place Yearling Filly and Unanimous Scottsdale Junior Champion Filly - Rohara Aria Heiress (Ibn Farid x Diamond Of Azraff). There were very few unanimous decisions in the breeding and halter classes this year, yet all three judges placed this exquisite filly first on their card. Roxann Hart has been breeding champion Arabian horses for over 50 years with hundreds of champions and champion-producers to her credit. Rohara Aria Heiress, now owned by The Aria Partners LLC, adds another feather to her cap. As international as are the breeders and owners of these gorgeous Arabian horses, so were the handlers who presented them. The Brazilian trainers and handlers who have become familiar faces in the show rings throughout the country have also become beloved friends to many of us. There were a few European handlers as well as new talents from The Middle East. It is interesting to watch the evolution of this facet of our industry. The rising stars are given more and more opportunities to prove themselves and their horsemanship skills. This “new blood” will ensure the health of the industry as we move into the future and Scottsdale provides a place for them to learn and grow with the best. Whether they are the trainers, handlers, grooms, or caregivers, these people fulfill vital roles that are critical to the health and well being of our horses and they too should be recognized. AAHA Board of Directors President, Paul Glans specifically requested that we thank all of the board members, staff, and the hundreds of volunteers who pour their hearts into making Scottsdale The Greatest Horse Show on Earth!
We hope you enjoy this showcase of magnificent champion Arabian horses that were named champions at the 2025 Scottsdale show. Plan now to visit Scottsdale and attend the show next year, the dates are already set. Join us February 12-22, 2026. DUBAI INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP
22nd EDITION 21st to 23rd March 2025 by Fabio Brianzoni z photos by Henrike Hoermann
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the 22nd edition of the Dubai show took place. There was a special atmosphere this year for the 2025 edition of the DIAHC, which was held at night out of respect on the occasion of Ramadan, which lasted the entire month of March, from 1st to sunset on the 29th. The organisation of these times was undoubtedly an excellent idea not to stop one of the historic shows in our Purebred Arabian world and I must say that it was a good solution for everyone and allowed visitors to enjoy the wonders that Dubai and its surroundings offer, judges and handlers to take care of the horses during the day, and, above all, all the Muslims present to practise Ramadan, a month of fasting that is, let us remember, the fourth pillar of Islam. This rich edition of DIAHC supported the participants with a prize money of $4,000,000 up to 7th in the classes, up to 5th in the Junior and Senior classes and distributed between Yearling, Junior and Senior over $2,000,000 for the final championship. The 22nd edition was held in a different pavilion of the World Trade Center from the previous editions but just as
big but even more comfortable, very beautiful the graphics that served as a backdrop, with the wall decorated with images of the 21 GOLD SENIOUR STALLIONS of DIAHC which are winners of 21 shows. The organisational chart of the show consists of the Chairman Mr. Ziad Abdullah Galadari, his deputy and Board Member Mr. Abdulrahman Obaid Al Belshawareb. Mr. Sultan Mohammed Khalifa and Mr. Yaqoob Yousuf Al Makhani are Board Members. General Manager & Board Members is Mr. Qusai Obaidalla. Excellent work is done by Mrs. Albina Patyka Show Event, Mrs. Christianne Chazel and Mrs. Dominik Briot advisors under the supervision of Executive Manager Mr. Adel Saeed Al Falasi. Once again this year, the jury consists of 10 judges from all over the world: Mr. Tarek Hamza (from Egypt), Mr. James Constanti (USA), Mr. Urs Aeschbacher (Switzerland), Mrs. Anna Stojanoska (Poland), Mr. Murillo Kammer (Brazil), Mr. Jonas Salzmann (Germany), Mr. Marc Veray and Mr. Eric Gear from France, Mrs. Christine Jamar (Belgium) and Mr. Elyas Ebrahim Faraj (Bahrain). There were also five DCs: Dr. Sujeet Bhaskar Suryawanshi, Dr. Umer Raza Gill, Dr. Abdel Wahabben Ali Amira and Mr. Kais Ben Hadi www.tuttoarabi.com - TUTTO ARABI | 141

Ouelhazi from UAE, and Mr. Jean-Marc Dubois from France. Excellent work by Mr. Eidha Taleb Almenhali as a ring master. The voices in the background enunciating the judges’ scores for each horse in the two different languages were by Mrs. Noora Al Marri and Mr. Abdulla Rashid.

Dr. Ghanem Mohamed Ghanem Mohamed Alhajri’s ‘JAMRAN AL HAAJER’ was silver medalist and bronze went to Mohamed Butti Ali Alabdouli’s ‘A LA GHAYATH’. We got to the heart of the competition with the Yearling Fillies, which were divided into A and B classes. In class A won ‘D NIVEN’ of Dubai Arabian Horse second was ‘AJ GHAYDAA’ of Amara Stables, third was ‘MK JOOREYAH’ owned by Mohsen Hussein Emara. Third place in the class was for “RK SADEEM” of Ajman Stud. The second day, or rather evening, began with the Yearling Colts also divided due to the large number of entries into A and B: class A was won by ‘AL FAHAD MAS’ owned by Faisal Al Kubaisi, who later won the gold medal in
SHOWS AND EVENTS the championship. Second, again in the A class but also winning the silver medal in the championship was ‘S.S. MISK’ owned by Sultan Mohamed Khalifa Hamad Alyahyaee. Third was “AJ AAREM” of Abdulla Rashed Khusaif Binkhusaif Al Nuami. Second place and silver medal winner ‘AZZAM AL AMAL’ owned by Sheikh Mohammed Saoud Sultan S Alqassimi. Third place ‘AJ RABDAN’ of Ajman Stud. 3 years old Colt: first place “D SHAKHAR” of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. It was in this category that Ajman Stud won the bronze medal with the second in class ‘AJ SAYER’ and third in the class ‘SQ SAHARY’ of Al Saqran Arabian Horse Stud. We came to the heart of the show, with the Stallion 4 years and over section A which saw first and bronze medallist ‘EKS SIRAJJ’ of Nayla Hayek. Second in the class ‘FAKHR ALBATEEN’ of Ahmed Rashed Khadem Rashed Almuhairi and in third place ‘ANED AL HAWAJER’ of Dr. Ghanem Mohamed Obaid Alhajri.
Stallions 4 years and over section B saw ‘E.S. HARIR’ of Al Saqran Arabian Horse Stud who already won a gold medal in the Dubai show this year. The bronze medal in the championship was awarded to the second in class, the European stallion owned by Nayla Hayek ‘HL EL GANADOR’. Third in this difficult class was Saaed Obaid Mohammed Abdulla Alrashdi’s ‘D SHADDAD’. With a timing that was respected right up to the last day, this edition of DIAHC also ended with the classic group photo of the judges, those involved and all those who, with passion and professionalism, gave their support to the success of the event. We at Tutto Arabi wish all those who have never attended the show in Dubai to be present at the 23rd edition in 2026. It is truly an experience not to be missed! q

Art, Made in Italy, quality, love for details and a pinch of “Sicilianness”, these are the distinctive traits that characterize fashion according to Claudia Fasciana and that are part of the DNA of her creations. The Claudia Fasciana brand takes its name from the designer who, with passion and courage, decided to found her brand in 2021, after a course of study and training. In recent years, the brand, thanks to Claudia and her team, has grown and become known internationally, thanks to participation in some important projects carried out in New York and Paris. Claudia Fasciana promotes a one hundred percent “Made in Italy” production and her garments are produced and processed on the beautiful island where the designer was born and raised: Sicily. Her roots are the origin and source of inspiration for the designer, who characterizes each of her collections with that touch of “Sicilianness” that represents her and of which she is proud. Claudia Fasciana dresses a strong and independent woman, who nevertheless loves comfort and soft lines, for this reason her garments are not simple clothes: they are tailored garments that bring together all these important and significant characteristics. www.tuttoarabi.com - TUTTO ARABI | 175

SPECIAL
Claudia, how did your great passion for fashion begin? As a child I used to draw clothes of all kinds, in fact I have always had a passion and predisposition for drawing. I was born in Sicily, a place where you can breathe art and history in every corner. Later my studies took me to Milan, where I completed my training by graduating in economics. However, my artistic nature eventually got the better of me and so, in 2019, I decided to enroll in the Fashion Design course at the Burgo Fashion Institute, also in Milan. Here I had the opportunity to train as a designer. Where and when was Claudia Fasciana Design born? It was born in an absolutely unexpected period and in an even more unexpected place: it was September 2021 and at that time I was in Germany, in Frankfurt, I had recently had my baby. After fashion school I had decided to open my own brand, but everything started to come together while I was in Frankfurt. In October my first fashion show was scheduled with the collection “Unveiled” and, I must say, it was quite successful. I also participated in a television program on RAI2 and, thanks to this opportunity, I had the opportunity to collaborate with several people from the entertainment world. After returning to live in Italy, and in particular in Sicily, I began to receive customers for the creation of custommade garments at Villa Greca in Gela; from there everything started. Your production is 100% Made in Italy. Tell us something about your garments, from creation to production. My garments are exclusively produced in Italy, with Made in Italy fabrics. In particular, the production is carried out in Sicily, because I want to maintain a link with my land not only from an artistic point of view but also from a professional one: in fact, I want to continue the Sicilian tailoring tradition and support local entrepreneurship. With the seamstresses and model makers I work with, we have a synergic relationship, we share the same values and the same passion for fashion. My collections are born from a combination of current trends and the values of literature and philosophy, in fact I try to impress an abstract and deeply artistic idea in the concrete forms of the clothes. Here’s how I proceed: I start by creating
a moodboard and then I test the first sketches, both in terms of models and combinations of textures and colors. After doing this, I pass everything to the pattern maker and the head seamstress, with whom I share the technical specifications aimed at creating the designed models. Then there is the production of the sample, so the next step is the photo shoot. How do you want to meet women’s needs with your creations? More than their needs, I want to meet and find a perfect synergy with women’s “state of mind”. In my opinion, it is essential to dress to feel good and be comfortable with yourself in every context, both work and leisure. I imagine a woman who wants to feel beautiful and at the same time perfectly in tune with herself and the context she is living. What is the source of inspiration for your creations? The main source of inspiration is, as I said earlier, Sicily, however I always try to intertwine my idea of Sicilianness with reflections that arise from a love for literature, philosophy and art in general. All this allows me to create different collections, while always remaining faithful to myself and the brand. Tell us something about the international projects you have created, we know that you have participated in several events between NY and Paris. They were both very exciting moments, both from a work and emotional point of view, especially the American experience. When you are a mother you face life in a completely different way. My son was not even two years old and the thought of leaving him to go to the other side of the world instilled a certain fear in me. In New York I was selected among many Sicilian brands as part of the ITALY ON MADISON event organized by ICE New York for the promotion of Made in Italy in the world and therefore it was a great honor for me to have the opportunity to show my creations in Central Park, next to very high level and therefore already very famous brands. However, when I saw my suits on the catwalk I had no doubts about the choices I had made and what I had achieved, and this is the reason why I continue to do this job that I am more passionate about every day. In Paris instead we went for the Who’s next? trade fair event, which took place at the Port de Versailles pavilions. The Who’s
© Vincenzo Di Dio
next fair is a meeting place for brands and designers who come from all over the world to show their creations to buyers and the press. Meeting and interacting with professionals in the sector is always a source of opportunities and new stimuli. After this experience I was contacted by the French magazine Marie Claire France. Tell us something about the Sicily collection, inspired by Sicily and made on the island. The Sicily collection is particularly dear to me, so much so that I decided to consider it the cornerstone of the brand, periodically increasing it with models and new patterns. The Sicily Collection, as the name of the collection suggests, is inspired by the beautiful Sicily, my homeland. The colors and typical elements of the Sicilian tradition were my main source of inspiration. In particular, in The Sicily Collection three elements of the Sicilian landscape and tradition stand out: lemons, bougainvillea and majolica. The yellow lemons illuminate the garments, the typical fuchsia bougainvillea cheer up and enliven the prints, finally the majolica adorns and embellishes the garments. The fabrics used are comfortable and cozy. The prints stand out on the soft fabrics and pastel shades; the dominant colors are yellow, purple, emerald green and light blue. The opulence and vivacity of Sicilian colours blend perfectly with elegant lines that best define any physicality.
You have patented the women’s tie, can you tell us how this idea was born? Among the latest creations of my brand, a special place is occupied by the women’s tie, designed to offer the female world a creative and elegant alternative to the classic tie, symbol of the male universe. This creation was born from the idea of giving women an accessory considered typically masculine, revisited in an alternative way, so that women can also have their own “ad hoc” tie. The model has been registered and approved as an innovation both in Italy and in Europe. My women’s tie is an elegant clothing accessory just like the men’s tie. This accessory was designed for that woman who wants to stand out in a formal environment, both at work and on other special occasions. If the classic tie was born with the purpose of covering the buttons of the shirt, this innovation aims to offer an accessory that has a purely symbolic and distinctive aesthetic value of the female world. A tie specifically designed for a woman and therefore with functional characteristics suited to her physical structure. Your latest creation is the Dichotomìa collection. What inspired you for this collection and what do you want to communicate to women with these garments? The Dichotomìa collection is about opposites that attract, about protection and freedom. All this is expressed and told through the colors, the design and the consistency of the fabric. Each dress has two different colors, which
together blend perfectly in a combination of brightness and elegance. The bands, or floating ribbons, represent an enveloping and protective embrace that is able, however, to melt leaving you free. Through the fabric, the “idea” of softness and lightness becomes tangible matter, transmitting the message that often the most beautiful things are the most delicate and therefore need care and attention. The collection is inspired by “being together” in diversity, loving and letting go, living to protect and take care of others and of yourself. Unlike the Sicily collection, this collection is essential. A minimal and refined style, not without references to some characteristic features of my garments, such as bows for example. What are your future plans and goals? My next goal is to increase the distribution of my garments, both in Italy and abroad. For this reason we are completely renewing the website that will be launched online soon. On the new website it will be possible to purchase via e-commerce and have the possibility to choose to customize the garments based on your measurements with a guided procedure within the website www.claudiafasciana.com I want to improve my product more and more by offering my customers a fantastic shopping experience, both virtual and physical. Finally, from May 2025 you will find some dresses from the Sicily collection in some of the best boutiques, in particular in Messina, Naro and in the beautiful Trapani.

SPECIAL
My name is Julia Dohmen, I’m 32 years old and live in Germany, near the Dutch and Belgian border. Next to my job in the office at the haulage company that my husband runs with his mother, I started my own business as a horse photographer two years ago. I approached the world of the Arabian horse by accident at the age of nine years old. At that time I rode a Haflinger horse who moved to the farm of a small Arabian horse breeder. It took me some time to fall in love with the Arabian horses as I was only used to ponies and the Arabians were completely different than all the other horses I have met before. But once I realized how special the Arabians are, there was no way back. Together with the farm owner I visited famous German stud farms like Gut Alemich, Darius Arabians and Sax Arabians and also started to attend the All Nations Cup in Aachen year after year. From the moment on I fell in love with the Arabians, I was fascinated by everything that had to do with breeding horses. So after school I spent hours on my computer, learning pedigrees and horse names. My computer was full of pictures from stallions and mares from around the world and within a short time, I learned a lot about bloodlines and stud farms. I got included in the choice of stallions and the management of the mares and foals at a really young age of 12 or 13 years old. At the age of 14 I managed the first foal birth on my own as the farm owner was on vacation on that time. In 2009 I experienced the birth of a very beautiful, straight Russian colt, that is still by my side since then. I knew very early, that one day I want to create my own breeding program. Many years later I met one of my biggest idols in the Arabian horse world: Johanna Ullström. It was (and still is) very helpful to have someone by
my side who is willing to share his knowledge and experiences. I first got the chance to lease a wonderful mare and after this I bought my first broodmare Tamarine JJ (Borsalino K x Tamara LL). This was really a dream come true. Meanwhile I take care of four horses and expect two foals in 2025, what I am very excited about. Being rather introverted, it’s not always that easy for me to get in touch with new people. I came to the Arabian horse world without knowing anyone. As the Arabian horse world is a close community where most of the people know each other for decades, I sometimes feel difficulties to find my place in the group. But what I learned in the last years is, that it’s worth to get out of my comfort zone. Once you are willing to try different things, new doors will open and new adventures will begin. My dream is not only to become a renowned breeder but also to expand my business as an Arabian horse photographer or in another position in the Arabian horse world. I think that you can only pursue your dream if you are willing to work hard, get out of your comfort zone and don’t give up when it gets difficult. And yes, maybe you have to work a little harder when you’re a woman. As a mother of two young children, I have to be well organized even more. It might be a long way but I am sure that keeping your focus and dedication will always pay off. In my experience it’s important to look for the right people to work with. It is always easier to work with people that share similar values than with those who don’t match your energy. I don’t like being too competitive. In my opinion life gets much easier when people support each other. When I look back, I would not be were I am today without the help of other breeders and friends.

My name is Rania Taha, 46 years old. I have 4 children and am married to Sufian Taha. I was born and raised in the biblical village of Silwan, just south of the Old City of Jerusalem. I have 5 sisters, no boys. Our father and mother taught us to be independent since we were children. I studied English at Al-Quds University. I work with my husband in our real state company and help my son and daughter in their tailor-made clothing project. I will always be very grateful to the love of my life, my husband Sufian, for introducing me to this wonderful world of the Arabian horse. Being a city girl, I never thought that one day the Arabian horse would play a very important role in my life.
I was enchanted by the beauty and character of the Arabian horse. I believe that women have played a very important role throughout history especially in the Arabian Peninsula like Naseeba Bint Kaab and Khawla Bint Al Azwar 1450 years ago. There are always challenges being an oriental woman in the Arabian horse world, but with the support of my husband I have learnt that you have to work hard to achieve your goals. You must always be strong, patient, intelligent, caring, always listen to the advice of your friends and never think that being a woman is an obstacle to achieving your ambitions, but rather an advantage.

My name is Sara Giavarini, born in Milan but a bit of a citizen of the world. Passionate about horses since I was a child, I earned my FISE First Level certification at the age of just 15, competing in show jumping, dressage, and eventing. Always very drawn to the world of thoroughbred horses, I then obtained a license for flat racing, maintaining this competitive spirit even today. However, my curiosity led me to try polo and compete in various endurance races. My passion for travel and horses led me to make a career shift a few years ago, founding a tour operator dedicated to equestrian tourism. Thanks to this professional journey, I began producing horseback documentaries for RAI, the Italian national television, and later obtained my journalist card, which allowed me to start creating in-depth content on equine breeds, both Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines. I became involved in the world of Arabian horses a few years ago when I had the chance of participating for two consecutive years in a flat racing championship for Arabian horses, reserved for women, organized and sponsored by Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Later, I had the opportunity to take part in various endurance competitions, where I was able to further appreciate the many facets of this horse. I believe that the horse is a common denominator, a shared passion capable of bringing together
people from any background, social class, and education. When talking about horses, there is curiosity and mutual respect for the journeys of the people we meet. I have never found difficulties in proposing myself especially when speaking about my tourism business. I have often traveled the world and recently throughout the Middle East to meet new business partners and create new travel experiences, and I haven’t encountered any difficulties except for different perspectives on hospitality. For example I just have introduced Saudi Arabia into my itinerary and I am working on a combined trip that extends to Wadi Rum in Jordan. I am persuaded that in life one must be fortunate enough to discover their own dream and pursue it with all the passion possible. This should be the purpose of our life here - the happiness of fulfilling our deepest vocation. Clarity, perseverance, and a lot of passion are the essential ingredients. I would love it if my experience could be an inspiration to a future generation of women in this world. I consider myself incredibly lucky, but at the same time I have had the determination and drive to turn my passion for horses into something much more - a fulfilling career that allows me to do what I truly love every day.

Chiara Dynys The art of light and perception
by Matteo Chincarini
Chiara Dynys is one of the most relevant contemporary Italian artists, capable of interrogating the viewer through works that move between light, form and meaning. She is formed in a lively cultural environment, which nurtures her artistic sensibility since childhood. After undertaking humanistic studies, she approaches visual art with an experimental approach that leads her to explore different techniques and materials.

Her installations are not simply art objects, but active spaces in which the audience is invited to interact, to let light pass through them and immerse themselves in a transformative sensory experience. Dynys’ work suggests an idea of perpetual motion, a flow of thoughts, images and reflections that challenge the static nature of the traditional art object. The inner journey it proposes results in a process of transfiguration that impinges on consciousness and leaves an indelible mark in space and time.
