DAY 52

The Architecture Lobby is an international organization of architecture, urban planning and design workers who advocate for the value of architecture to the general public and the work of the architect within the discipline. The Architecture Lobby believes that power in a society must be democratic and broadly distributed and that changes for a humane built environment must be in the organization of work. It believes that the work of architects and the capitalist society in which we work need structural changes to properly serve spatial justice. As long as architecture tolerates abusive practices in the office and on the construction site, it cannot insist on its role in the fight for public safety, environmental health, or a just society.

The Architecture Lobby supports a Green New Deal, as proposed in House Resolution 109, for a just transition and the creation of a more sustainable and equitable future for all. In this regard, they have been working on a manifesto that applies the principles of the Green New Deal to the world of architecture, urban planning and landscape.
