With the blessed month of Ramadan fast approaching, there’s a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air among Muslims all around the world. But, amid all the enthusiasm, there’s an essential step that so often gets overlooked: preparation. As
the famous saying goes, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. This applies to Ramadan in the same way it does for anything else. It is a month of fasting, sacrifice, worship and reflection – a time we so eagerly await all year long. What we need to make sure of, is

ّٰ ّٰ ُ َ ﻋ ْﺒﺪ ا��� ﺑْ َﻦ ﻋ َ� َ� رﺿﻰ ا��� ﻋﻨﻬﻤﺎ َ َ َ َ ّٰ ّ ّٰ ُ ﻗﺎل ﻗﺎل َر ُﺳﻮل ا�� ِ� ﺻﻠﻰ ا��� �ﻠﻴﻪ َ ّ ُ َُ َ ََ ﺑ َ ْﻴ َﻨﺎ أﻧﺎ ﻧﺎﰱِ ٌﻢ َرأﻳْ ُﺘ ِ�� أﻃﻮف:وﺳﻠﻢ ُ َ ْ َ � ْﻌ َﺒﺔ ﻓَﺈ َذا َر ُﺟ ٌﻞ آد ُم َﺳ ْﺒﻂ �ﺑِﺎ ِ ِ َْ ْ َ َّ ُ ْ ُ اﻟﺸ� ِ� ﺑَ� َ� َر ُﺟﻠ� ٍ� ﻳ َ ْﻨ ِﻄﻒ َرأ ُﺳﻪ ُ َ َ َ َ ُ ْ َُ ً َ ﻣ . ﻓﻘﻠﺖ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻫﺬا ﻗﺎﻟﻮا اﺑْ ُﻦ � ْ�ﻳ َ َﻢ،ﺎء َ ٌ َ َ ُ َْ ُ َ َ َ �ُ �َ ﻓﺬﻫ ْﺒﺖ أﻟ َﺘ ِﻔﺖ ﻓ ِﺈذا َر ُﺟﻞ أ ْﺣ َْ ُ ْ َ ٌ َ ْ ْ َْ ّ �ِ �س أﻋ َﻮ ُر اﻟ َﻌ ِ ﺟ ِﺴ�� ﺟﻌﺪ ا��أ ٌ ْ َ ٌ ُ َ َََ ، �ﺄ ّن ﻋ ْﻴ َﻨﻪ ِﻋ َﻨ َﺒﺔ ﻃﺎ ِﻓ َﻴﺔ،اﻟ ُﻴ ْﻤ َﻨﻰ ُ َ َّ َ َ ُ َ َ َ ُ ُْ .ﻗﻠﺖ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻫﺬا ﻗﺎﻟﻮا ﻫﺬا اﻟﺪ ّﺟﺎل َ َّ ُ َ ْ َ ََ اﻟﻨ أﻗﺮب .ﺎسﺑِ ِﻪﺷ َﺒ ًﻬﺎاﺑْ ُﻦﻗﻄ ٍﻦ ِ It is narrated by Hazrat Abdullah bin Umarra that, “Allah’s Messengersa said, ‘While I was sleeping, I saw myself performing the tawaf of the Kaaba. Behold, there I saw a whitishred lank-haired man [holding himself] between two men with water dropping from his hair. I asked, ‘Who is this?’ The people replied, ‘He is the son of Mary.’ Then I turned my face to see another man with a red complexion, a big body, curly hair, and blind in the right eye which looked like a protruding out grape. I asked, ‘Who is he?’ They replied, ‘He is Ad-Dajjal;’ Ibn Qatan resembles him more than anybody else among the people.’’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab at-
