Job interviews are notorious for the many layers of communication required before you even get to sit in front of another human !

So, I thought we might take a look at some of the most quirky questions that might come your way in an interview.

1. What animal best represents your work style? … A question designed to showcase your understanding of your own approach to work through a metaphorical thought process.

2. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would you choose? This one is a fun question intended to reveal interests as well as conversational capability.

3. Describe the colour yellow to someone who is blind? A great test of creativity and communication talents for abstract concepts.

4. If you were a kitchen appliance, which one would you be? This quirky one serves to assess your self perception and how you relate your qualities to everyday objects.

5. If you could instantaneously become an expert in anything, what would it be? I like this one the most as it is designed to help an interview panel better understand your passions and other areas of interest, often missed on a resume.

Questions, both quirky and predictable, are a great way to extend applicants, sometimes to catch a person off guard, but always to reveal a greater insight into personality, preferences and individual processes.

What is the most kooky question you have been asked in a job interview?
