locking mechanism The 20° angle of the Visao® curved bur is identical to the Evaporative cooling bend of an angled handpiece, yet the Visao drill provide a sleeve keeps outer sheath better line of sight because there is less in the way to obstruct cooler during operation the surgeon’s vision. The curved bur’s smaller diameter also allows for better access to deeper, narrower spaces. Notched collet and curved bur hub provide better finger grip

Sheathed design protects surrounding tissue from mechanical damage The curved bur sheath extends to the bur head, shielding the patient from the mechanical hazards associated with a spinning bur shaft. This is especially important when drilling through bone surrounded by critical anatomy, i.e., the external ear canal, facial recess and petrous apex.

Evaporative cooling sleeve reduces distal bur sheath temperature By re-wetting the evaporative cooling sleeve every two minutes during surgery, the distal bur sheath temperature may be reduced by as much as 50° F. This is especially important when working in the facial recess. NOTE: When used as directed, the evaporative cooling sleeve can help reduce distal bur sheath temperatures; however, thermal risks to the facial nerve still exist. Therefore, other methods to decrease the risk of facial nerve injury should be employed, including drill speed reduction, copious irrigation and nerve monitoring.

Notched collet and curved bur hub The notched collet and curved bur hub provide a good, easy-to grip surface, which may enhance drill control.

Well-balanced handpiece is 36% lighter than Xcalibur® drill With its compact, ergonomic design and titanium alloy body, the Visao® is 36% lighter than the Xcalibur® drill. The angled and rotating strain relief also helps balance the handpiece. It allows more room between the Visao® and the operating microscope and lets surgeons re-distribute the weight of the cable to reduce counter-pull.

Easy bur locking mechanism The Visao’s collet has a well-marked “lock and unlock” mechanism, which may facilitate fast learning and quick bur changes.

Water-cooled engine A water-cooled body helps reduce the operating temperature of the Visao’s 80,000 rpm motor, making it especially comfortable to hold during long procedures.

The Jasin Frontal Ostent can be placed intraoperatively to gently dilate the frontal ostium and be used postoperatively to maintain the patency of the frontal ostium. It is also used as part of the postoperative management of the patient following debridements.

The Parrell Frontal Sinus T-Stent developed in conjunction with G. Joseph Parrell, MD

The Parrell Frontal Sinus T-Stent is intended as a postoperative drainage stent for use after frontal sinus surgery to maintain the patency of the frontal ostium. The T-shape, a time-honored design to facilitate drainage of middle ear effusions, is used to facilitate drainage of the frontal sinuses.

The Jasin Frontal Ostent is made from Merocel® sponge cannulated with a #7 French silicone elastomer tube to prevent secretions from accumulating under pressure. Use of the high density – micro pore Merocel sponge helps reduce the risk of tissue ingrowth, while its expansion allows for self-fixation of the stent. As the ostial edema recedes, the Merocel sponge will continue to expand until it reaches its maximum diameter of 9mm, while staying in contact with the tissues to aid in preventing displacement.

Medical-grade radiopaque C-FLEX® material provides excellent surface smoothness to help reduce the incidence of encrusting and granulation tissue formation, thus decreasing the likelihood of closure of the duct.
