Reinvent Hampton Roads Meeting Notes • The goal of Reinvent Hampton Roads is to focus on ways the Hampton Roads region of Virginia can diversify its economy and provide more jobs and help businesses and entrepreneurs in the region thrive • In January 2016 Reinvent Hampton Roads introduced James K. Spore as president and CEO • It is currently focusing on several key projects -- a Regional Export Accelerator Program (REAP), priority industry clubsters, strategies for next-generation leadership, a pilot on operational efficiencies and a possible branded regional joint campus focused on science, technology, engineering, math and health as well as transitioning military opportunities. • The Virginia Initiative for Growth and Opportunity in Each Region (GO Virginia) was initiated by Virginia’s senior business leaders to foster private-sector growth and job creation through state incentives for regional collaboration by business, education, and government. • Organizations voicing support for GO Virginia include more than 65 local and regional organizations, 13 statewide organizations and 18 academic institutions that comprise all four-year public colleges and universities in Virginia and the community college system. • GENEDGE enhances the productivity and technological performance of Virginia manufacturing and industry. • GENEDGE is a business consulting organization providing Virginia’s industrial and manufacturing sectors access to expert business solutions, which otherwise are often only accessible to larger companies. • GENEDGE is a network affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST-MEP) Resources: http://www.genedge.org http://www.govirginia.org http://reinventhr.org ***New RFK Network Connections: Matt Andrews Reinvent Hampton Roads Cluster Scale-Up Strategy Consultant (o) 757.961.8181 (c) 757.289.9275 mandrews@reinventhr.org R.
