The mid Norfolk railway describes Wymondham abbey station as a ‘great destination for your picnic’ with its pleasant greenery and peaceful setting. This proposal intends to build upon these existing characteristics while creating a uniquely tailored experience for enthusiastic train spotters and towns people alike.
To improve on the intimate nature of the site we designed a compact, low-profile station rising no higher than 4.5m respecting the view of the lush landscape that surrounds it. The station is also set back from the station master house allowing for a clear, unobstructed view of the listed building as you approach Wymondham Abby Station.
