Note –Ukrainians and the World
In this third issue of our magazine, we aim to spotlight even more brilliant, talented Ukrainians who inspire, achieve, create, and shape the world around them.
Ukrainians and the World is a concept-driven publication with a systemic approach. We have chosen to focus on two key directions — business and emigration. The issue of Ukrainians’ realization and success in the global business environment is not only timely, but one of the most crucial elements in the strategy for preserving and strengthening our nation.
Since the start of the full-scale war, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes and spread across the globe. Despite all the hardships, they continue to uphold their dignity, resilience, and ambition. On our pages, we unite those who keep moving forward, developing, and succeeding.
We are building a space for international business communication — because today, global business
concerns us all. New technologies, digital tools, and innovation are part of modern life. Our media is intentionally digital-first, with a clear mission: to inspire and connect outstanding Ukrainian leaders across the world.
In this issue, you’ll find even more stories of intelligent, inventive, and of course, incredibly beautiful Ukrainians. I am especially honored to present the stories of Ukrainian women — strong, graceful, and courageous. No wonder the cover of this issue features beauty pageant winners. The Ukrainian nation is undeniably beautiful, both in spirit and appearance.
Join our community and enjoy the stories. With love for Ukraine and Ukrainians — Editor-in-Chief Ukrainians and the World
ArtificialIntelligenceand Lawyers:WhoWillPrevail?
A lawyer is not just a legal expert but a figure who has accompanied humanity for millennia. Long before modern courts and law firms, legal knowledge was preserved by scribes in Ancient Egypt, and in Ancient Greece and Rome, thinkers and legal scholars sought answers to questions of justice and morality. With the development of universities in medieval Europe, the profession acquired new features—lawyers, judges, and notaries emerged as integral parts of legal life.
The Ukrainian lands also have their own deep legal tradition—from the Ruska Pravda to the constitutional process of independent Ukraine. Over time, the role of the lawyer evolved from that of an advisor in transactions to an active architect of the rule of law. This reflects the evolution of a professional whose historical function has consistently been to ensure legal stability in society.
In the 21st century, lawyers work in a vast array of fields and play a vital role in the functioning of society. They provide consultations, represent citizens in court, participate in the legislative process, analyze regulations, and protect human rights at both the national and international levels.
One of their most important functions remains human rights protection—lawyers guarantee the right to a fair trial, defense in criminal and civil cases, and represent Ukraine in international institutions, including the European Court of Human Rights.
In the business sector, lawyers assist with company formation, contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and intellectual property protection.
With the development of the IT industry and the innovation economy, there is growing demand for lawyers capable of working with startups, investments, and patents.
In the public sector, lawyers contribute to lawmaking, conduct legal reviews, and help shape public policy.
In times of war, their work includes documenting war crimes, providing legal support for humanitarian efforts, and assisting military personnel and displaced persons. The modern lawyer is not only a legal expert but also an active participant in societal transformation, working to strengthen the rule of law and uphold human dignity.
In today’s world, where digital technologies are transforming nearly every aspect of life, the legal field is also undergoing significant change. New tools allow legal professionals to work faster, more accurately, and more efficiently, while making legal assistance more accessible and democratic.
Information technologies are reshaping the legal profession—from how lawyers work, to how they communicate with clients and deliver services. Digitization covers the automation of document management, the creation of electronic databases of case law, the use of artificial intelligence to analyze legal texts, and the development
of online courts.
Until recently, the phrase “artificial intelligence” sounded like something out of science fiction. Today, however, it is a reality that is increasingly present in our everyday lives—including in the complex and serious field of law.
Legal chatbots already assist users with basic legal queries, help fill out documents, and even simulate legal consultations. Platforms like DoNotPay, developed in the United States, allow users to challenge fines or subscriptions without a lawyer, using artificial intelligence.
AI can analyze court decisions, predict the outcomes of legal disputes, and provide recommendations on legal strategy. This reduces the time and cost of legal services. AI can also detect contradictions in documents, highlight risks in contracts, and even generate legal documents based on templates.
However, no technology can replace critical human skills: ethical responsibility, strategic thinking, and em-
pathy for the client. These qualities define a true legal professional. The profession is not only about laws, but also about values, principles, and justice.
It is crucial for legal professionals not only to adopt new tools but also to understand how to use them responsibly. AI can become a powerful assistant in legal practice, but it must be under human control. It is important to maintain transparency in algorithmic decisionmaking and to ensure the protection of personal data and the rights of all participants in the legal process.
For future lawyers, it is important to continuously develop technological literacy. Universities and legal education must integrate modules on digital law, data protection, and AI ethics.
Lawyers of the future must be not only legal experts, but also communicators, analysts, and strategists who understand how digital technologies work and can use them to enhance justice.
The legal profession is undergoing a transformation, but its essence remains unchanged: to protect human dignity, rights, and freedoms. In this mission, technologies can be allies—but not replacements—for the lawyer.
Artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of the legal profession, streamlining routine tasks, improving access to justice, and enhancing the efficiency of legal services. However, despite all its technological advancements, AI cannot replace the human qualities that define a true lawyer — moral responsibility, empathy, legal in-
tuition, and the ability to understand the nuances of each unique case.
The legal profession has always been more than just a set of procedures and rules — it is about protecting human dignity and ensuring justice. No algorithm can fully replicate the ethical judgment, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence of an experienced attorney.
At Yaremchuk & Partners Legal Consulting Group, we believe in combining modern technology with timeless professional values. With over 22 years of international legal experience, we not only adapt to technological change but also preserve what truly matters — integrity, knowledge, and our commitment to every client. That’s why we remain a reliable partner for intellectual property protection and legal support for talented individuals, including those applying for talent visas.
We stand for the future — where lawyers and technology work together for the benefit of people.
My name is Natalia Ustich, I am a lawyer, businesswoman, and author of the book «Standing on the Edge. Thoughts Out Loud.» I am a licensed attorney with the right to practice all areas of law, a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association, and the Council of Attorneys of Ukraine. My professional activities cover a wide range of fields—from business consulting to protecting the interests of clients in international agreements and criminal cases. Additionally, I am the founder of several businesses, including the construction company «Salon Decora.»
My professional journey began with legal practice. In addition to two higher education degrees with European diplomas, I gained extensive experience in international agreements, business consulting, and litigation, working with large companies, entrepre-
neurs, politicians, public figures, and stars from the entertainment industry and film. I developed effective legal strategies for doing business in Ukraine and abroad, helping my clients achieve significant results in their fields.
In 2012, I founded the construction
company «Salon Decora,» which quickly gained a reputation as one of the leading companies in the market. In 2013, we received an award for business achievements and became the official dealer of the Italian brand of decorative paints and plasters, Spiver Italy. Within a few years, our
company became well-known due to the high level of services and innovative solutions in interior design and finishing materials.
However, the biggest change in my life occurred after the start of the war in Ukraine. My family and I had to emigrate to the United States, where, fortunately, I found support from my new colleagues. I met Vladislav Salaridze, a licensed attorney with over 17 years of experience, who specializes in immigration law. He actively supports Ukrainians and offering free consultations for them.
Vladislav Salaridze is a highly qualified professional in the field of immigration. He provides comprehensive support in the immigration process, including assistance with obtaining business visas, familybased visas, talent visas and political asylum. With years of experience, Vladislav helps clients from various fields, including business, art, science, and sports, to quickly and efficiently navigate all stages of the immigration process.
His approach to each client is individualized, and he always finds the optimal solution, focusing on the needs and goals of each person. This allows him to help Ukrainians who seek new opportunities for development in the United States, regardless of their professional field. Together with Vladislav, we are actively working to help Ukrainians take advantage of their opportunities and realize their potential in the U.S. by obtaining the necessary visas.
Another milestone in my journey was becoming the face of the
main cover of renowned magazines around the world, which recognized my achievements and the new stage in my career.
This path has been a new challenge for me, and I am happy to be part of this team that supports Ukrainians on their path to success. With my experience in law, business, and immigration strategies, I am ready to help anyone who strives to achieve their goals in the United States. I am confident that everyone deserves a chance for a new life, and I am ready to be the guide who helps make that chance a reality.
An Interview with Nadia Gryb, a Florida Notary Who Supports Ukrainians Worldwide
“EvenAcrosstheOcean, YouHaveaTrustedNotary”
Nadia Gryb is a notary public with over 25 years of professional experience. She began her career in Ukraine and later rebuilt it from scratch in the United States. Now based in Tampa, Florida, Nadia provides notarial services to clients across the U.S. and abroad, offering legal support to fellow Ukrainians wherever they may be. In this interview with “Ukrainians Around the World,” she shares her professional journey, the challenges of adapting to a new system, and the importance of building trust in both law and community.
Nadia, how did your notarial career begin?
— It all started back in 1997 in Ukraine. I began as a secretary at a notary’s office — back then, we still used typewriters. Over the years, I progressed through every stage of the profession, eventually becoming an independent notary. Today, I’m licensed in the state of Florida and continue to help people with the same dedication I had at the very beginning.
You moved to the U.S. and rebuilt your career from the ground up. Was that difficult?
— Absolutely. It was a total reboot. I had to adapt to a new legal system, a different culture, and even a different way of communicating. I wasn’t sure I’d manage, but I saw the growing demand for notarial services among Ukrainians abroad. That gave me the strength to go through the training and get certified. Now I offer both in-person and remote services across the country — and even beyond.
How does the U.S. notarial system differ from Ukraine’s?
— In Ukraine, a notary has broad legal powers: handling inheritance, certifying contracts, and much more. In the U.S., the role is more limited — mostly confirming signatures and verifying identities. But here, notaries can also officiate weddings and offer remote services, which opens up incredible opportunities, especially for diasporas.
What kind of services do you provide for Ukrainians living abroad?
— Powers of attorney, affidavits, parental consents, marriage documents, apostille requests — everything people need in critical life situations. Remote notarization allows clients to sign legally binding documents from anywhere without waiting for a consulate appointment. I guide clients from consultation to document delivery back to Ukraine.
How popular are online notarial services among Ukrainians abroad?
— Very popular, and demand is steadily increasing. Especially among mothers with children who relocated after the full-scale war began. Remote notarization is legal, fast, and incredibly convenient. Most importantly, it builds a bridge of trust between people — even when they’re thousands of miles apart.
You live in Tampa. Are you active in the Ukrainian community in Florida?
— Yes, I regularly support local Ukrainian initiatives — legal aid projects, cultural events, charity work. We collaborate with lawyers, translators, and other professionals to provide full-service assistance to those in need. The war brought us closer together. We’ve created a little hub of legal and emotional support here in Florida.
Do you cooperate with other Ukrainian legal professionals abroad?
— Absolutely. I work closely with attorneys in both the U.S. and Ukraine. Together, we help clients with inheritance cases, real estate transactions, divorces — all while navigating the legal frameworks of both countries. It’s a true synergy of knowledge, experience, and care.
What inspires you most about your profession?
— People. Their stories, their gratitude, their resilience. I’ll never forget one online notarization I conducted during a missile strike in Ukraine. I offered to pause the session, but the client said, “It’s scary, but I’m used to it. Let’s finish.” That moment showed me how much strength and dignity Ukrainians carry — and why my work matters.
What does Ukraine mean to you today?
— Ukraine is home — always. Even though I live in Florida now, my heart is there. Through my work, I help people stay connected to their country. I dream of returning one day, but until then, I do everything I can to be of service from here.

Mindfulness in leadership is emerging as one of the greatest challenges of our time. Translating meditative insights and inner silence into the language of KPIs, strategic or tactical SMART goals, or aligning them with ROI is not just a trend—it’s a master-level task. For top executives and business owners, it’s about more than just experimenting with mindfulness practices— it’s about consciously embracing and integrating them as a system for managing energy, attention, and meaning in the context of real business challenges.
Mind Fu
This challenge was accepted by Sergiy Venger, a former top executive of leading Ukrainian and international companies, and now a U.S.based business advisor and mentor. He is the founder of Mind Fu—an approach to Mindful Management— which is based on understanding outcomes through the lens of causeand-effect relationships of actions and inactions.
Mindful management is about nonjudgmental acceptance of results, coupled with clear recognition of the specific actions (or inactions) of individuals that led to those outcomes. It’s the transformation of awareness into systemic decision-making.
According to Venger, every result has a name. Accepting that your outcomes depend only on you—and not on external circumstances—is a deep challenge to a manager’s ego and sense of control. The Mind Fu philosophy insists that every employee has an undeniable impact on results. Circumstances cannot be used as excuses. When mindful management is
MindFu:ANew BusinessCulture
truly applied, organizations stop repeating actions that haven’t worked before and begin transforming them into effective strategies that align with real goals.
Adopting this mindset requires redefining what mindfulness means in business. It’s not about meditation—it’s about strategic presence.
For leaders, mindfulness is not about sitting in lotus pose.
It’s about mastering three core skills:
• Maintaining focus in chaos or crisis;
• Hearing the signal through the noise;
• Making decisions not from reaction—but from clarity.
• It’s a shift from “controlling” to “feeling the direction.” Not just operating the system—but tuning it. And that tuning requires inner stillness.
Traditional leaders persuade. The leader of the new era radiates clarity. And people follow that clarity.
This level of leadership is impossible without attention training, intuitive awareness, and somatic intelligence.
Mindfulness is not esotericism— it’s the B2B-infrastructure of the brain for attention management, depth, and team synchronization. In the cognitive economy, attention is the main resource. In the cognitive due diligence of the 2030s, teams will be evaluated based on neuroresilience and mental clarity.
Mindfulness as a Competitive Advantage A mindful leader detects weak market signals sooner and acts from strategic clarity, not noise.
The first step on this path: learning to pause and dive into silence.
Noise and Pause: Cognitive Silence as Business Value
Why is an internal pause not a weakness—but a new type of asset? Because everything starts with noise. Not with ideas. Not with action. With noise. In the head, in chats, in offices. Between calls. Between deadlines. In an age of hypercommunication, even silence looks like a glitch.
But real decisions don’t come from noise. They come from silence.
Silence is not the absence of sound—it’s the absence of internal storm. It’s a cognitive pause where you don’t react—you start to see. This is where our conversation about a new business asset begins: cognitive silence.
It isn’t tracked in your financials—but it makes money. It’s not in your KPIs—but it determines if your brain is a strategist—or just reacting. It’s not about rest. It’s about depth.
What is cognitive silence and why
do you need it to truly think—not just simulate thought? It’s a state where mental activity doesn’t stop, but changes form—like water turning into steam.
In this state:
• Inner dialogue slows down;
• You stop clinging to thoughts— and they stop clinging to you;
• Your attention crystallizes instead of dissolving.
This isn’t meditation in the traditional sense. It’s cognitive hygiene. We’ve learned to brush our teeth. But not to clean our minds. Cognitive silence is how you switch off the autopilot. And while it’s on—you’re not leading. You’re reacting. Trapped in patterns. Operating a “grow-up-andmanage” script.
Why does noise ruin decisionmaking? Because noise is:
Endless unstructured inner talk; Reflection with no anchor; Fear of missing out—disguised as “analysis.”
Thought isn’t always a sign of thinking. Sometimes it’s anxiety in PowerPoint format. An idea that hasn’t passed through silence is like a seed tossed on barren soil. You’re planting—but don’t know what will grow. Because you don’t have clarity. You don’t have the field.
Then decisions are born from chaos:
“Let’s do what worked yesterday.”
“That’s what competitors do.”
“We need a strategy update.”
That’s not strategy. That’s noise— in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Silence as Added Value: What Does It Add? Let’s say you’re running a startup. Or a team. Or a business. You work 60–70 hours a week. You’re doing everything right—but something’s missing. You’re moving—but not sure where. You probably lack cognitive silence. Neither your team nor your communication has it.
That means:
• Attention is unfocused
• Decisions are vague.
• Stress is high
• Reactivity grows.
• Meaning is lost
• You act, but don’t know why.
• Cognitive silence gives you:
• Better decisions;
• Deeper perception;
• Efficiency amid uncertainty;
• Presence in dialogue;
• Humanity in leadership.
The Biology of Silence: Brain in Meta-Observation Mode
Neuroscientists call it the default mode network (DMN). When you’re in silence, the parts of the brain responsible for:
• integrating information,
• understanding self in time,
• and feeling an inner self activate. Instead of reacting—you get panoramic vision. Instead of impulse— you feel rhythm. You begin to distinguish between noise, signal—and meaning.
The hardest thing isn’t staying silent when there’s nothing to say. It’s not reacting when everything demands a reaction.
Technique: Real-Time Cognitive Pause
A simple protocol for business:
1.2.3.4.5. Stop. Catch the moment you want to react. Close your eyes.
Deep inhale and exhale. Do nothing. Just observe your breath. Feel the air entering and leaving your nostrils. Notice the temperature, the rhythm, the path. Continue until you feel calm and centered—until you notice which nostril you’re breathing through.
Now: Look inward.
Name it: What do you really want to do?
Hear it: What’s going on inside, without words?
Decide: Act—or don’t—but do it mindfully.
It’s just 5 to 30 seconds. But they might be worth a year’s budget—or transform your life.
«Today, the world is changing faster than we can react. But there is a possibility in these changes. The opportunity to grow, open up, change your own game — and do it in a feminine way.»
- Natali Ross
The world opened up. Borders were erased, new professions appeared, and with them — new challenges. Ukrainians are increasingly becoming visible in the global space: as experts, artists, entrepreneurs. And especially-as women who do not just adapt to reality, but create it from scratch.
«When we act not out of duty, but out of love, we create a world in which we want to live.»
And while some exhaust themselves to constantly prove that they are worthy of success, others allow themselves to live, create and grow with dignity, ease and feminine wisdom. This is the philosophy: play to win.
I work with Ukrainian women who have already achieved a lot: they have experience, knowledge, their own business or expertise. But despite her own external success, she lives in anxiety, stress, in the middle of doubts and fear of not being able to make it, etc. and most importantly — the feeling that you live in a game where you constantly need to prove something.
I know it from the inside out — because I’ve come this way myself. And now — as a mentor, coach, mentor-I help other women switch to a different mode. The one where you play not to survive, but to win and live.
For more than 15 years I have been working as a practical psychologist, Personal Growth Coach, and spiritual mentor
What does it mean to “win” in a feminine way?
It’s not about time management or 100-page goals. It’s about self-awareness, clarity, meaning, and depth.
This is when:
• you don’t chase results, you grow naturally;
• you don’t prove your value, but you act out of inner dignity;
• you don’t burn out, but you recover by feeling the resource;
• you don’t fight, you build.
My clients are coaches, freelancers, and experts in vari-
ous fields. And each of them has one common need: to be yourself, to achieve in your own way, in harmony with the inner world. And that’s exactly what I’m helping with.
We learn the art of achieving in a feminine way: The world is used to teaching us to play hard, through effort and control. But the female approach is different: It’s not about»getting the most out of yourself».
It’s about opening yourself up to the maximum. Through self-knowledge — not comparison.
Through awareness of value, not proof of it.
Through inspiration, not exhaustion.
2 months (60 days) of new quality of life
One of the formats of my work is a live workshop, a live dialogue with myself, with the world, with God. Every day is small, but Real, which affects big things:
Quality of solutions, Contact depth, Energy for action, Inner peace.
These are tools that help you create new habits — without breaking down, in balance. Because the real transformation is not about revolution. It is about care, consistency and step by step — up.
The woman who leads
I’m not talking about a woman “surviving successfully.”
I’m talking about her leading, creating, and inspiring. And all this-not at the cost of yourself, but thanks to yourself.
My mentoring is a space for those who want to live more. Who is ready to make an internal upgrade, to reach a new level - in projects, in finances, in influence.
But first of all-in a sense of self-worth.
Create your own projects, your own educational programs for others, present and sell them - reach your potential - I invite you.
I know that the strength of a Ukrainian woman lies in flexibility, depth and the ability to carry light even in the darkest times.
And if you feel it’s time to put aside your doubts and finally play your game, I’m here.
We are already part of the world. And our task is not just to survive, but to shine in it. For real.
In today’s world, the value of an idea can exceed that of any material resource. A single successful invention, an original brand, or a unique technology can transform an entire industry — or become the foundation of a profitable business. But an idea by itself is just potential. To start generating income, it must be protected, formalized, and properly implemented. This is where the path to intellectual property (IP) commercialization begins — the process of turning creativity, knowledge, and innovation into real assets and profits.
What is it?
It’s the process of transforming creative, scientific, or technical solutions into real income. Copyrights, patents, trademarks, industrial designs — all of these can serve not only as protection but as a source of revenue.
How does it work?
There are several main ways to commercialize intellectual property:
Licensing
Licensing involves granting another person or company the right to use your intellectual property (such as a patent, copyrighted work, software, or brand) in exchange for a fee. You retain ownership, while the licensee uses it within defined limits.
Types of licenses:
• Exclusive license: Only one person or entity can use the IP — even you lose the right to use it.
• Non-exclusive license: You can grant licenses to multiple parties at the same time.
• Sublicense: The licensee is allowed to grant licenses to third parties (with the IP owner’s consent).
Example: Adobe licenses its software (Photoshop, Illustrator) to users. You pay a monthly fee and get usage rights — but you don’t own the software.
Franchising
Franchising is the comprehensive transfer of rights to use your brand, business model, technologies, standards, marketing, etc. The franchisee gets a ready-to-launch “turnkey business” with support and training.
Example: The coffee chain “Aroma Kava” and the restaurant giant “McDonald’s” operate via franchising. A franchisee opens a venue based on the model, receives operational standards, and pays a share of profits in return.
Assignment of Rights
In this case, you fully transfer all rights to your intellectual property to another party. The buyer becomes the new owner and can decide independently how to use the asset.
They receive:
• All economic rights (use, reproduce, sell, modify)
• Confirming documents (assignment agreement)
• Possibly technical or methodological documentation
Advantages:
• Immediate revenue (a lump sum)
• No future obligations
• Opportunity to focus on new projects
Disadvantages:
• You lose all control
• If the product becomes successful, you won’t benefit from future profits
Example: An engineer sells a patent for a new energyefficient battery to a large electronics company. From that moment, the company decides how, where, and when to use the invention.
Many Ukrainian companies still underestimate the true value of their intellectual assets. They often focus solely on physical goods or services, overlooking what actually forms the capital of global giants. In the 21st century, a business’s value is increasingly defined not by the product’s composition but by what stands behind it: a unique brand, original design, patents, and copyrighted solutions.
Think of Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola — companies that built empires not just on products, but on powerful, legally protected ideas. Their logos are recognized worldwide, and their brands are often worth more than all their manufacturing capacities combined. Intellectual property is the invisible but essential asset that generates billions in profit.
Example: LEGO — one of the world’s most famous toy companies. But do you know what its true asset is? Not just the bricks.
The company owns hundreds of patents on brick designs, protects its visual identity, and most importantly — its brand. LEGO licenses its products to film studios (e.g., The LEGO Movie), partners with major franchises (Star Wars, Harry Potter), and has even launched its own gaming platform.
The result?
The LEGO brand is valued at over $10 billion, and a significant share of its revenue comes not from toy sales but from licenses and IP rights.
In today’s tech-driven world, having an innovative idea is not enough — what matters is the ability to turn it into a real, profitable product. This is exactly where many
promising innovations and startups face challenges. The Lotus Innovations team helps overcome these barriers by providing comprehensive support for bringing innovations to the U.S. market.
We specialize in the commercialization of technologies, inventions, patents, and methodologies from Ukraine and Europe. Our goal is not just technical realization, but market success and sustainable growth for your ideas.
Our services include:
• Market potential evaluation and identifying a commercially viable development path
• Monetization strategy — through licensing, rights sale, startup creation, or other models
• Securing investment for launch or scaling
• Building connections with potential partners, licensees, or buyers
We serve as a bridge between science, technology, and business, opening the path to the global market for innovations with real value. We simplify the complex and turn your IP into a tangible business tool.
Intellectual property is the new oil of the 21st century. If you want to play big — learn how to manage it. Your idea can become a business.
Spring 2025 was an incredibly active and meaningful season for Yaryna Levytska and her charitable organization Ukrainian Spirit by Yaryna Levytska (UkrSYL). Within just two months, the organization not only strengthened its presence in the cultural and humanitarian landscape of the United States, but also opened new horizons for supporting Ukraine and its people.
In April, UkrSYL proudly represented Ukraine for the first time at SpringFest International in Orlando. Under the Ukrainian tent, festival guests enjoyed borscht, varenyky, stuffed cabbage rolls, honey cookies, and other traditional dishes. The stage came alive with Ukrainian songs and a fashion show of embroidered clothing — blending authenticity with modernity.
Another major step was participation in Dinner on the Avenue, where the Ukrainian team presented its culture through cuisine, customs, traditions, and national style. Here, the organization earned an Honorable Mention — an important symbol of recognition for the young nonprofit founded by Yaryna Levytska.
While leading cultural initiatives, Yaryna also personally participated in rallies in support of Ukraine — speaking out at demonstrations near Orlando City Hall and in Clermont, constantly reminding the public that Ukraine’s fight for freedom continues.
A significant highlight of this period was Yaryna’s involvement in a photography exhibition by renowned photographer Juan David Tena at the Orlando Museum of Art. Her portrait, one of just 20 selected from over 400 entries, became a centerpiece of the two-month exhibit. At various events, Yaryna shared her personal journey — how war, motherhood, loss, and inner strength inspired her to create UkrSYL.
As part of international cultural collaboration, Yaryna and representatives of the Ukrainian community par-
ticipated in the Puerto Rican Parade, and welcomed Ukrainian children undergoing prosthetic treatment in Minneapolis (through the Protez Foundation) for a visit to Orlando. UkrSYL arranged a magical day at Disney World and community gatherings — bringing joy and hope to young hearts.
Yaryna also took part in the Festival of Flowers, where she and her family showcased a video highlighting Ukraine’s beauty and traditions, performed Ukrainian music, and — for the first time — presented a Ukrainian dance on stage.
The organization also joined educational initiatives. Yaryna spoke at the American Club in Clermont, sharing her personal story, talking about UkrSYL’s humanitarian projects, and informing others about the current situation in Ukraine. Her sincere words touched hearts and awakened empathy.
On behalf of the Ukrainian community, Yaryna also participated in the Franciscan Prayer Service for Peace,
where she read a prayer in both Ukrainian and English — praying for peace in Ukraine and across the world.
The culminating event of this busy season was the organization’s first major Charity Luncheon, held on May 18. The event not only celebrated UkrSYL’s first anniversary, but also launched a new humanitarian initiative: fundraising for all-terrain evacuation ATVs to assist the medical unit of the 3rd Separate Mechanized Battalion of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Volodymyr Monomakh. The event featured an auction, project presentations, and a warm gathering of supporters — and received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Earlier, the organization successfully completed another milestone project — purchasing 10 adaptive rugby wheelchairs for Ukraine’s veteran national team, Team Ukraine, to compete in the 2025 Invictus Games. For the first time in the Games’ history, Ukraine’s team competed in their own rugby chairs — donated by Ukrainian Spirit by Yaryna Levytska. As a result, the organization’s name is already written in the history of Ukrainian sports and resilience.
Now, a new mission lies ahead — equipping medics with ATVs to save more lives on the front lines.
Yaryna Levytska is not just the founder of a charitable foundation. She is a heart that beats in unison with Ukraine, no matter where she is. She is preparing for an -
other humanitarian mission to Eastern Ukraine to support defenders on the front lines.
Her work is a powerful reminder of how one person — armed with faith, love, and action — can truly change the world.
The story continues. After returning from Ukraine, Yaryna plans to participate in Chicago Village Fest, FusionFest, Ukrainian Independence Day celebrations in the U.S., and a charity-focused exhibit in December.
Ukrainian Spirit by Yaryna Levytska is gaining momentum.
And in every step — the light of the Ukrainian soul shines bright.

In Switzerland, the name Olesia Tarasenko is already well known beyond the Ukrainian community. In a country with clear rules, multiculturalism, and high
“I don’t search for a place in the sun – I create it. For myself. And for others.”
That’s how my conversation begins with Olesia Tarasenko – a woman whose presence changes the atmosphere of a room just like spring light transforms the grey of a March morning. Head of the Ukrainian-Swiss foundation VIDNOVA, founder of several media projects, PR specialist, event curator, and voice of Ukrainian women abroad – she has turned her personal experience of war into a multi-layered recovery program for others.
integration standards, her activity has become a living example of “soft power” in action. In just three years, her foundation VIDNOVA has become a platform uniting civil society, government, media, culture, and business around a shared goal – supporting Ukrainians and pro-
moting the values of democracy, dignity, and freedom.
The INTEGRAS Forum in Bern became a symbol of this collaboration. For the first time in the history of the Ukrainian community in Switzerland, representatives of state institutions (SEM, RAV, social services), the diplomatic corps, international organizations, scholars, volunteers, experts, and refugees gathered on one platform. The forum addressed not only legal status (S permit) but also access to education, employment, women’s rights, psychosocial support, and reintegration perspectives.
“We’re building a bridge between Switzerland and Ukraine – between those who’ve lost their home and those who can help them find it again. Not always geographically, but always existentially,” Olesia explains.
Social Capital: From Trust to Change
VIDNOVA is not just an organization. It’s social capital in action. By consistently involving citizens in projects, fostering cross-cultural communication, and participating in discussions at the cantonal, municipal, and international levels – new bonds are formed, trust emerges, and opportunities are created.
The VIDNOVA team knows how to truly listen to the community. That’s how initiatives like these were born: Women Leaders’ Clubs in Zurich, Biel, and Kreuzlingen – informal spaces for support, networking, and growth.
Support for aspiring women entrepreneurs – training series, mentoring programs, legal consultations.
Psychological evenings for children and adults – in partnership with leading specialists from Ukraine and Europe.
Cultural bridges – meetings with artists, exhibitions, and Ukrainian music nights at museums and theaters in Switzerland.
Healing Through Art: A New Role in a New Country
Olesia discovered her creative “second self” thanks to her friend, artist Iryna Fedorenko. Art helped her feel alive, whole, and free again. Her paintings are the voice of inner truth, the calming of pain, and a search for light.
Within the framework of VIDNOVA’s charitable events, art has become a new communication channel with local communities. It doesn’t need translation or explanation. Through emotions and colors, Swiss people gain a deeper understanding of what Ukrainians are experiencing.
A special place belongs to the International Children’s Drawing Competition, revived by VIDNOVA’s initiative. This is more than a creative contest – it is a space where children, even after loss, feel important, seen, and recognized once again.
Leadership Without Pathos: Soft Power That Changes the Rules
She’s been called “the Ukrainian heart of Switzerland,”
but she laughs: “The heart is the team. I wouldn’t exist without my deputies Svitlana and Viktoriia, our volunteers and partners. We are one breath.”
Indeed, teamwork is the secret to their success. Coordinated planning, strategic partnerships, support from the Ukrainian Embassy Office in Switzerland, and media trust – all of this has made it possible to organize:
Meetings with thought leaders and Ukrainian celebrities.
Educational projects and internationally certified training sessions.
The “Ukrainians in Switzerland” information campaign, which became a guide and lifeline for thousands.
Female Unity, Social Action, and a Brand at the Crossroads of Cultures
“War taught me that life cannot be postponed. I have the right to be happy here and now – and to help others feel that right too,” Olesia shares during her speech at the European Forum of Ukrainian Women.
Her journey is not only a professional transformation but also a deep personal evolution. From an emigrant to a thought leader, from a TV host to a public activist, from a PR expert to an artist and mentor for other women. Today, she not only leads an organization – she inspires others to create, to feel, to act.
A New Ukrainian Face of Europe
Switzerland is a country of high human standards. And here, supported by leaders like Olesia Tarasenko, Ukrainians demonstrate that we are not just asking – we are creating, contributing, and building.
VIDNOVA is more than a name. It is a concept of renewal. Not just physical, but also cultural, social, and mental. And while the war continues, it is these initiatives that shape a new image of Ukraine – strong, feminine, wise, and open to cooperation.
VIDNOVA is not just about help. It’s about belief. In yourself. In the nation. In the future. And it is that belief that is building the new Ukraine – in hearts, and in the world.

LiubovManyuk:
In April 2025, more than 600 activists, civic leaders, veterans, human rights defenders, and allies of Ukraine gathered in Washington, D.C. for the Ukraine Action Summit - a biannual social and political event that unites supporters of Ukraine from across the United States. Organized by the American Coalition for Ukraine, an alliance of over 100 nonprofit organizations, the summit aimed to strengthen citizen diplomacy and ensure sustained support for Ukraine at the U.S. Congressional level.
This format is unique: it is driven not by official government diplomats, but by civil society representatives themselves. The Ukraine Action Summit is not merely an event - it is a tool for continuous advocacy, operating through the conscious involvement of everyday citizens who represent their communities and convey vital messages to lawmakers.
The spring summit agenda focused on four key priorities: securing a just and lasting peace for Ukraine; rejecting Russia’s illegal territorial claims; transferring frozen Russian assets to help rebuild Ukraine; and countering Russia’s deportation of children and religious persecution.
The participation of the Florida delegation was especially significant. The state is not only home to a large Ukrainian community but also a key player in American political life. It houses the Mar-a-Lago residence of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Florida’s political figures
wield considerable influence over national foreign policy discourse. Thus, the Ukrainian presence in Florida is as strategic as it is on the federal level.
The Florida team comprised 26 delegates. Over the course of two days, they held 23 meetings with members of the U.S. House of Representatives and one with a state senator. The delegation also included an American veteran who, having become personally invested in the Ukrainian cause, joined the advocacy team. His involvement underscored that support for Ukraine transcends ethnic lines and has become a moral imperative for a wide range of Americans.
However, the summit revealed not only the strength but also the challenges of the community. According to Dmytro Bozhko, head of the nonprofit organization UA Florida, a significant portion of the local community remains uninvolved in advocacy efforts. This is a critical concern, given the state’s influence on federal policy.
Bozhko emphasized that regular constituent outreach to members of Congress is key to the diaspora’s political visibility: “If we don’t do it, no one else will.”
One of the notable achievements of the collective advocacy was the introduction of S.Res.236 in the Senate, officially registered on May 20, 2025. The resolution sends a clear message: the return of abducted Ukrainian children must be a prerequisite for any peace agreement with Russia. The resolution was co-sponsored by Florida Senator Rick Scott. He meets personally with representatives of the Ukrainian community during the summits and has demonstrated deep awareness of Ukrainian issues, the ability to engage in substantive dialogue, and strong political analysis. During my participation in the fall 2024 delegation, I personally observed this openness to reasoned conversation and engagement.
The next Ukraine Action Summit, scheduled for October 25–29, 2025, will return to the Conference and Expo
format and will be open to an international audience. It will bring together even more representatives from the community, expert, and policymaking spheres - once again becoming a focal point of advocacy efforts on behalf of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian community in the United States has proven that it can be a powerful voice in the halls of Washington. But the strength of this voice depends directly on our engagement, unity, and strategic approach. That is why everyone’s participation is not just a gesture - it is a meaningful contribution to a shared cause.

Why It’s Important to Make Decisions from Inner Peace, Not Fear
“The most terrible things in the world are done with a serious face.”
This quote by director and philosopher Tarkovsky serves as a warning and seems to explain much of what’s happening around us, doesn’t it?
Conflicts, toxic relationships, broken families, ruined lives — if you take a closer look, behind most destructive decisions stands a person with grim determination on his face. No doubt, no smile. However, his eyes blaze with fear.
Since childhood, we are taught that being serious means being an adult. Jokes or lightness are “unacceptable” when it comes to something “important.” In reality, it’s often during the most serious moments that a person strays farthest from common sense and inner clarity.
I’d like to point out that emotions themselves are not bad. However, if we break down the cycle of action, it becomes clear: first comes observation, then decision, and only then—action. When someone starts this cycle with negative emotions, there’s a slim chance for constructive results.
When viewed through anxiety or anger, the world appears hostile, limited, and narrow. Distortion occurs at the observation stage: we see not reality but its “compressed” version, filtered through fear. Decisions
made in this state are almost always confusing, and actions tend to be destructive.
That’s why the most important thing is to rise above emotions, especially before making serious decisions. It’s not about suppressing feelings; it’s about preventing them from being the initial trigger that sets everything in motion.
Of course, it’s not always easy to find inner peace. Sometimes, it feels like there’s no time to “calm down.” But remember: one impulsive step can initiate a whole chain of events, each requiring new decisions, new resources, and possibly new regrets.
If you’re in a situation where things feel unclear and emotions are clouding your judgment, don’t face it alone. My company, Planeta, is a space where you can gain self-understanding, view your situation clearly without panic, and discover a path that is truly yours.
If you don’t know where to start, just come for a free consultation. Sometimes, one conversation is all it takes for something to click inside: this is the right decision.

LiliiaBielousova:anexpertwho changesthefuturethrough education,parentingandlifeskills development
Liliia Bielousova’s unique story of professional fulfillment is an example of leadership, influence, and a deep humanistic calling. Her contribution to the educational, social, and community transformation in Ukraine and the United States is impressive in its scope and sincerity.
She has been called a coach of the future, an expert with a deep vision, and a leader who implements change through training and awareness. Liliia Bielousova is not just a Ukrainian coach and trainer, but a symbol of a new culture of parenting and conscious living that promotes care, mutual understanding, and personal responsibility. Her name is increasingly mentioned among the reformers of the educational and family approach in the United States.
From war to influence: a personal story of strength
In 2022, Liliia lived in Kyiv, Ukraine, with her husband and two young children. Her son Tymur was 1 year and 4 months old, and her daughter Alisa was almost 9 years old. She had her own successful consulting business. For 12 years, Liliia trained parents and educators
to foster happy, confident and successful children. She had more than 25 author’s programs in the areas of parenting, coaching approach to upbringing and education, personal development, creativity, emotional intelligence, etc. Liliia’s programs have been attended by over 12000 participants. Since 2016, Liliia has been a board member of the Association of Coaches and Educational Facilitators (Ukraine).
Intelligent products as a platform of influence
Liliia Bielousova is the author of many intellectual products, each of which is unique and highly appreciated by clients.
In 2017, Liliia created the author’s coaching game «Family Mosaic» - a powerful transformational tool for parents and professionals working with parents and children. The coaching game is a unique format that helps not only to understand complex issues of upbringing, but also to change family dynamics on a deep level. The game was published in two languages: Russian and English. In 2022, the Ukrainian version of the game was released.
«Family Mosaic» has become not just a tool, but a cultural phenomenon. Liliia created and delivered training courses «Facilitator of the Family Mosaic Coaching Game». To date, 25 game facilitators (psychologists, teachers, coaches) from around the world have been certified: Ukraine, the USA, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and the Czech Republic. Each of them is now leading the game in their community, helping parents and professionals find new approaches to children, families, and themselves.
In 2017, Liliia became the heroine of the book «Yes, I am a brand. Or How to Succeed in a Crisis». Her interviews
are an honest, in-depth conversation with those who seek internal changes and a new vision of themselves.
2019 was no less outstanding for Liliia. Liliia published the book «The Saga of You. From Birth to...», which became a real gift for thousands of families. Liliia is proud that this is not just a book. It is a living, personal story of a child written together with his or her parents. It is more than a book. It is the key to a child’s self-identity, a mirror that reflects his or her uniqueness, and a light that shows the way. «The Saga of You» is a way to give a child the most important thing: knowledge of who he or she is and faith in who he or she can become.
The next year, 2020, was marked by the creation of new games for children and parents:
- «Open your heart for a Miracle» - to develop emotional intelligence,
- «Brain inside out» - to develop creative thinking, - «Interesting conversations every day» - for daily meaningful communication.
Liliia emphasizes that these games are not designed to just «keep a child busy,» but to LIVE together through dialogue, joint presence, and understanding.
Also in 2020, for her significant contribution to the field of parenting, Liliia Bielousova was invited as an expert to the jury of the National Mother of the Year Award. She evaluated the Family Coziness nomination. Liliia’s expertise, depth and emotional responsiveness were highly appreciated by the organizers.
A voice of hope for everyone who starts from scratch
Liliia and her family liked life in Kyiv, they were happy. But everything changed on February 24, 2022. Together with her two children and her elderly mother, Liliia was forced to leave Kyiv after the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine.
Upon arriving in the United States, Liliia, like many other Ukrainians around the world, was forced to start from scratch. Everything she had achieved at home, everything she was proud of, everything that defined her, was gone. But she was also left with a choice: to retreat or start from scratch. Without language, status, or resources, she managed not only to adapt but also to build a new system of professional influence.
Thanks to her determination, in 2023, Liliia founded «Conscious Parenting, LLC» and began conducting training programs for children, adolescents, and parents in a new country. Liliia became a leading trainer in the following topics: conscious parenting, personal development, critical and creative thinking, emotional intelligence, time management, adaptation, career guidance, professional realization, etc. Over the past two years, Liliia has conducted more than 200 workshops attended by over 2600 participants. Her programs have a lasting impact on the formation of healthy families and socially responsible
citizenship. It is safe to say that Liliia’s work is a contribution to the national interests of the United States.
Continuous development: the key to the future
Liliia continues to study and is currently an Oregon Registry Specialty Master Trainer and Peer Support Specialist (Adult Mental Health).
Liliia has adapted her games to the American cultural environment, creating English-language versions of «Interesting conversations every day», «Open your heart for a Miracle», and «Brain inside out». These games are already being actively used in US families, enhancing emotional contact and child development. And in 2023, Liliia created a completely new bilingual (Ukrainian and English) game called «Interesting conversations every day 2».
In order to offer applied solutions that can be implemented in the practice of education and work with children, Liliia co-authored three scientific articles on education, behavior, and crisis adaptation of children. The first article, entitled «Comparative analysis of problems, approaches and goals in organizing the educational process of early childhood in different countries of the world,» has a practical significance of the study - the inclusion of a new feature - «children of warring countries.» The task of the second scientific article is to propose solutions to the identified problems of the educational process. The third article is devoted to the topic: Choosing a form of education as a way to overcome crisis situations in times of turbulence. The purpose of the study is to develop practical recommendations for the formation of personality in the modern conditions of a turbulent world.
Liliia Bielousova is not limited to writing scientific publications. She actively shares her experience with a
wide audience: she writes a column for parents in the local Ukrainian-American newspaper Maidan (USA), where she regularly publishes articles on conscious parenting, life skills development, emotional literacy, and family harmony. Her publications are read by both parents and professionals looking for practical and inspirational support.
A new stage: space for the future
Liliia is especially proud of receiving a $45,000 Grant from the State of Oregon to create a certified child center. Together with a Ukrainian partner, they are in the final stages of opening Education and Development Center «Playful Pals», the first Ukrainian-American space in Multnomah County. The Children’s Center will be an environment where children from 6 months to 12 years old can develop and thrive.
Not just teaching. She changes reality.
Liliia is a voice for those who have experienced loss, who are on the brink, who are afraid to start. She proves that everything is possible. That even in a new country, without language and acquaintances, you can build a new self - if you keep your faith and act with love.
Her story is an example of resilience, faith and action. It shows that even in the darkest moments, you can find light - if you move forward.
Liliia Bielousova is an expert with exceptional achievements and influence that goes far beyond the local community. Her work transforms consciousness and creates systemic support for families.
Liliia Bielousova is a woman who is changing the world. Starting with families.
DuringAdaptation
The migration of Ukrainian professionals is nothing new, but the migration of lawyers to the United States is a reality of a different nature. The legal system, which differs greatly from the European (continental) legal system, cultural differences, the language barrier, and unique new requirements create distinct challenges for each individual. I decided to write this article partly for myself (to try to reflect on my own experience) and to share it with others (perhaps it will be useful).
My name is Yevgeniya Smirnova, I used to work as a Ukrainian litigation lawyer for many years, and after obtaining my degree in the UK, I have experienced in private international law (issues related to various business matters).
Purpose of this publication - I wanted to share my own experience. I love discovering the new — a city I’ve never been to, a painting I’ve never seen, a song I’ve never heard. That’s what brings peace and meaning to my life.
Why do U.S. states differ?
The U.S. legal system is federal. This means each state has its own licensing system (local law) and a specific regulatory body (the Bar Association), its own exams, procedures, and requirements for practicing law. For example, in New York City (not just the state), foreign lawyers are allowed to sit for the Bar Exam after completing an LL.M. (Master of Laws) - a postgraduate academic law program often used as a bridge for international lawyers. In California, however, you can sit for the Bar even without an LL.M., provided you can prove sufficient legal education and experience. This is why choosing the right state is a strategic decision — it affects timing, cost, and complexity.
LL.M. or another route?
An LL.M. is the most common path. It helps adapt to the U.S. legal system, provides academic grounding, and helps build a professional network. However, an important factor is whether your degree is recognized in the U.S. If you studied in a common law country (like the UK), you may be able to skip the LL.M. in some states. For me, this was the simplest route, as I have a UK law degree.
Bar Exam and Beyond
The Bar Exam is not just a test that candidates take to obtain a law license in a particular state in the United States, it requires preparation, and each state has its own specifics. I could summarize the following possible tests prior to admission to the official test:
MBE (Multistate Bar Examination) — 200 multiplechoice questions that test critical thinking.
MEE (Multistate Essay Examination) — legal essays on topics like contracts, criminal law, family law, and others.
MPT (Multistate Performance Test) — practical tasks such as writing a memorandum or a client letter.
MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination) — an ethics exam required in all states, and in fact, one of the most important.
Many professionals fail this exam, as it tests ethical readiness and is critical in various fields. This exam
evaluates everything!!!
The first personal loss is the loss of professional identity. A person who had a name and reputation in Ukraine often becomes completely unknown in the U.S. For me, this was very difficult — and I still work through it —but from my subjective point of view, I think it’s a redefinition of the professional myself. As for me, it’s very difficult, only after three years of living in the United States, maybe I learned not to think about it and started to live differently, using my prior experience in a new country, applying my previous experience in this country. Law is language. But legal English is not just vocabulary. Therefore, learning and speaking it, using it fluently is a must for a lawyer. Therefore, a feeling of linguistic isolation could arise even if you speak English fluently, especially when you’re not speaking with native speakers. And that’s normal. But keep in mind that the legal professional environment is formal, polite and distant. Therefore, just speaking English doesn’t work.
As for me, my challenge was the feeling of loneliness. In fact, the loss of a professional circle, friends, a common language and context that you have developed over 20 years creates an inner emptiness. But there is a way out – join professional associations (Ukrainian American Bar Association), support from professionals, participation in thematic events, and, in my opinion, an attempt to adapt to the United States, but this is not the final option and, accordingly, your path.
Obtaining a license in the United States is a realistic but it’s a difficult path. It requires not only knowledge and time, but also a lot of internal work. But every step has potential - not just to become a lawyer in a new country, but to become a global professional. And yes, you need to understand that you are not starting from scratch. You start with experience, dignity, and depth, not losing yourself in an attempt to “become American” but sharing your culture. Being a world-class professional does not mean abandoning your roots, but trying to build a bridge between worlds without destroying yourself as the foundation of this bridge.
And no, you’re not starting from zero. You’re starting with experience, dignity, and depth, not losing yourself in an attempt to “become American”, instead, sharing your culture as well. Being a world-class professional does not mean abandoning your roots, but trying to build a bridge between worlds without destroying yourself as the foundation of this bridge.
My name is Yuliia Naumova. I am a certified esthetician from Ukraine with five years of experience working in the United States, where I have successfully obtained all the necessary licenses. My professional mission is to help people reveal their natural beauty and self-confidence by providing high-quality services and a personalized approach. I specialize in non-invasive aesthetics, offering advanced facial and body treatments, as well as various types of massage and skincare therapies. I pay special attention to organic cosmetics, preferring to use natural and ecofriendly products.
In my work, I place great importance on a personalized approach. I believe that every person is unique, and therefore, every treatment must be tailored to the individual characteristics and preferences of each client. I carefully assess the skin’s condition and individual needs to offer the most effective and comfortable care methods. My goal is to create an atmosphere of trust and care where everyone can feel special. I work with clients of all ages—from teenagers to adults—because beauty and healthy skin are relevant at any age. My mission is not
just to improve appearance, but also to create a space for complete relaxation and rejuvenation. In my practice, it is important that every client feels truly valued and receives exactly what they need.
In working with each client, I strive not only for aesthetic results but also for harmony between outer appearance and inner well-being. True beauty lies in confidence and a sense of harmony with oneself.
Please tell us about your journey from being a winner of world beauty contests to becoming a public and cultural activist in Switzerland.
• My journey is a combination of beauty, strength, and responsibility. After winning the beauty contest, I felt that this title was not just a crown, but a voice. A voice that has the power to tell the world about Ukraine, its talents, pain, and dreams. That is why I started my cultural and public activity – to carry our identity into the heart of Europe. Since the beginning of the war, I think every Ukrainian has felt the need to do something for our country. I believe this is the best way to endure the pain we all feel. My mission now is to promote Ukrainian culture abroad, help refugees, and support all those in need in Ukraine. It is for these goals that the public organization «World Cooperation Ukrainians Society» was created. Together, we organize large-scale cultural events in Switzerland that help Swiss people get acquainted with Ukrainian culture, help our refugees realize their potential, and raise funds for charitable projects in Ukraine.
2. What prompted you to stay or move to Switzerland?
It was a difficult but conscious decision. In Switzerland’s nature, peace, discipline, and ideal organization, I finally found my calm. Switzerland is a country of opportunities and dialogue, where the voice of Ukraine can sound strong. I felt that here I could be useful – as an ambassador of Ukrainian culture, beauty, and truth. Here, all international organizations, political, and financial resources of the world are concentrated. My move was prompted by my dream. My main dream was to become a UN Goodwill Ambassador. But unfortunately, this organization has discredited itself as a guarantor of peace, justice, and human rights in the world. I understand that our volunteer public activities now have more significance for Ukraine in the course of this brutal war.
3. How do you see your mission as a representative of Ukraine abroad?
My mission is to be a bridge between Ukraine and the world. To introduce Europeans to our artists, traditions, women’s strength, and resilience. To be the face of a country that fights but does not lose its faith, beauty, and dignity.
About the Ukrainian Diaspora in Switzerland
4. What does the Ukrainian diaspora in Switzerland look like today?
The diaspora has become larger and more active. It is no longer just a community – it is a network of initiatives, volunteer movements, and cultural platforms. People unite not only to help but also to preserve our cultural DNA. Public organizations in Switzerland focus on providing humanitarian aid to displaced persons and affected regions, supporting the army, and organizing cultural and educational events. Since the beginning of the war, tons of humanitarian aid, thousands of drones, and bulletproof vests have been collected through the
private efforts of the Swiss diaspora. Our organization is involved in cultural diplomacy events, during which we raise funds for vehicles for the front and support for the orphanage «City of Good.»
5. What challenges do Ukrainians face in Switzerland?
Adaptation, language barriers, and finding a job are common difficulties. But the biggest challenge is to maintain our identity as Ukrainians in a new environment while also integrating and being a worthy representative of our country.
6. Is there support from the Swiss authorities?
Yes, we feel support at various levels. This includes integration programs, opportunities for cultural events, and humanitarian aid. However, many initiatives still rest on the shoulders of the community itself.
7. What projects unite the Ukrainian community? These include festivals, fairs, charity concerts, film screenings, and language schools. What is especially heartening is the collaboration between generations –newly arrived Ukrainians quickly join the projects started by those who have been here longer.
8. How has the activity of the diaspora changed since the start of the full-scale war? It has become much more powerful and mobile. Every Ukrainian abroad felt a sense of responsibility: to help the army, refugees, and inform society. We have turned from just a community into an active diplomatic front. Cultural events have also scaled up significantly because many talented creative professionals from Ukraine have arrived, and they organize the events not as amateur volunteers, but as experienced professionals. We have created our own cultural space with Ukrainian schools, concerts, film and poetry days. Before the war, such a cultural space didn’t exist, and Ukrainian culture wasn’t as popular; Ukrainians often merged with the Russified communities of the former USSR.
About Cultural Initiatives
9. Tell us about the founding of the Ukrainian Film Festival in Switzerland. My father, Ihor Zorov, was a famous Ukrainian actor. He constantly introduced me to filmmakers and would always say that one day I would organize Ukrainian Film Days in Switzerland. Two years ago, he passed away. In his memory, I now organize Ukrainian Film Days in Zurich, showing the best works of our cinematography to the Swiss audience and our refugees. The idea came from the understanding that film is a universal tool for dialogue. We wanted the Swiss to see Ukraine through the eyes of its filmmakers. This is how our festival was born, which over time became a cultural messenger.
10. What is the main goal of the festival?
Of course, to promote Ukrainian cinema. But even more importantly – to create a space for mutual understanding. Ukrainian cinema reflects our experience, pain, humor, and dignity. And it speaks to the heart.
11. What successes has the festival achieved?
We have already established partnerships with several European film forums, received support from Swiss cultural institutions, and, most importantly – we have a regular audience. People return every year because they feel the power of our art. The biggest success was the screening of the animated film Mavka in Ukrainian, which made the fastest sold-out in Switzerland’s largest cinema chain. After that, the film was included in the theater’s regular programming.
12. How did the idea to host «Ukrainian Fashion Days» come about?
Fashion is also a language of culture. I saw how Ukrainian designers create contemporary art based on tradition. And I realized: the world needs to see this. That’s how the «Ukrainian Fashion Days» project was born. We also aimed to draw attention to the issues faced by female refugees. All our models were not professionals – we trained them literally from scratch. We wanted to inspire women and children who had endured the horrors of war and who had to start life anew, to once again believe in themselves and spread their wings for a new life. This initiative received wide support from renowned Ukrainian and Swiss designers, as well as the Swiss press.
13. Which designers did you present?
We have already presented collections by Oksana Karavanska, Yanis Stepanenko, Selera, Natalia Strugil, and young brands. The Swiss audience responds with great enthusiasm – they are amazed at how much depth, patriotism, innovation, and aesthetics are present in our fashion.
On Female Leadership and Inspiration
14. How do you balance social activism, creativity, and personal life?
Only a happy woman can keep all these areas in balance. A woman should engage in activities that bring her joy, spend time with people who fill her soul with happiness. That’s the resource for harmony. If you focus on things that only burden and drain you, and interact with toxic people, you’ll surely run out of strength. When your family feels your fulfillment and harmony, they will show infinite support.
15. What is your formula for female strength?
Listen to your heart, don’t fear change, remain dignified, and support other women. True strength lies in tenderness, wisdom, and action.
16. Who inspires you?
Ukrainian women – soldiers, volunteers, mothers who don’t give up. In the world – women who change the rules of the game, like Greta Thunberg or Olena Zelenska. In my personal circle – my mother, who taught me not to give up.
17. What message would you give to young Ukrainian women?
Don’t be afraid to dream and act. Ukraine needs your strength, intellect, and talent. The world is vast, but it needs your uniqueness.
On Ukraine and the Future
18. What impresses foreigners most about Ukrainian culture?
Its depth. Our songs, poetry, films, and language – they are filled with so much pain and beauty that they touch even the most indifferent hearts. Our resilience is also impressive – even in art.
19. How do you see the role of the diaspora in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction?
We are not just donors or ambassadors. We are a bridge to the world. The diaspora can help with investments, education, and cultural connections. Today, we are already building the image of a strong, modern Ukraine.
20. What do you dream of as a Ukrainian living in Europe but with your heart in Ukraine? Victory. Returning home – to a renewed, free Ukraine. For my work in Europe to become a part of Ukraine’s great success.

Iryna, how did your journey with beauty pageants begin? What inspired you?
It all started quite unexpectedly. One day, a representative of the Ukrainian diaspora in Miami reached out to me and invited me to represent Florida in the Ms. America WI pageant. Honestly, it felt surreal. In my youth, I competed in many beauty pageants in Ukraine — I even represented my country internationally. But that was a different time, a different version of me. At the time of this invitation, I was 35, married, a mother to a grown son, not in my best shape — beauty pageants felt like a closed chapter in my life.
At one point, I even thought it might be a scam! Still, I told my husband about it. He’s a successful American businessman, 99% Italian, with a passionate heart, and quite jealous. I was certain he’d say “no,” which would be the story’s end. But to my surprise, he said, “Of course we’re doing this!”
That moment changed everything. There was no turning back. There is no room for doubt. There is no space for fear. My husband believed in me — I had to believe in myself, too.
Later, he admitted he wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea. But he also knew I’d never forgive him if he didn’t support me. And for that, I am truly grateful.
2. What were the main challenges on your way to the “Mrs. World” title?
The greatest challenge was working with myself — and especially with my mindset. In our post-Soviet mentality, there’s still this idea that a woman over 30 is somehow no longer “young.” But in the U.S., that idea doesn’t exist! Here, women in their 60s live full lives, get married, start new careers, and shine brightly. Even though I thought of myself as confident, young at heart, and beautiful, I still believed beauty pageants were behind me. And that was something I had to reframe completely. I had to remind myself that I was at my prime, could do anything, and deserved it.
Another big challenge was building a team — in a country that was still so new to me. At the time, I had only been living in the U.S. for three years. But I was incredibly fortunate to meet some talented and inspiring Ukrainians here who supported me fully. Thanks to them, I rose from Mrs. Florida to Mrs. America to finally win Mrs. World International. I’m endlessly grateful to my team. This victory is not mine alone. It’s a shared achievement. And I truly believe that success is always about the people beside you.
There’s one more moment I’ll never forget. The final round of the competition came down to just two contestants — myself and the representative from Russia. And I won. That moment was deeply symbolic. Once again, it was clear: victory belongs to Ukraine.
3. What does this victory mean to you — personally and as a representative of Ukraine? This victory is a deep personal honor and a moment of immense pride. It results from years of growth, hard
work, resilience, and self-belief. It’s more than a title for me — it symbolizes everything I’ve overcome and the woman I’ve become.
But even more than that, it’s a victory for Ukraine. In a time when our nation is facing incredible challenges, standing on an international stage and representing Ukrainian women is powerful. It’s a way to show the world that Ukrainian women are strong, intelligent, graceful, and dignified. It’s another reminder that our spirit is unbreakable — and that Ukraine continues to win in resilience and courage, beauty, culture, and excellence.
With my story, I want to inspire other women. To show them that they can do anything. And they don’t need to be perfect to do it — because none of us are. And that’s the beauty of it! Every one of us is unique, with her strengths and traits. The secret is learning to embrace them — and let them lead you forward.
4. What did winning the pageant give you?
Winning the pageant gave me far more than just a crown and a title. It was proof that dreams do come true if you believe in yourself and commit to growth. This victory opened doors to new opportunities and amazing people and gave me a powerful platform to represent women who strive for evolution, strength, and balance.
Being the wife of a successful millionaire isn’t always easy—it means constantly growing, evolving, keeping things exciting, and holding your own. After my win, I saw how proud my husband was of me. After just the first day of the competition, he told me, “Thank God I’m in your team.” He saw the confidence, drive, and energy I brought to the stage with my team. He was beaming with pride!
And as a mother, there’s nothing more meaningful than seeing that pride in your child’s eyes. My adult son was by my side every single day of the pageant. He supported me, helped me, and believed in me. Imagine how a son must feel, seeing his mother crowned Mrs. World International. That kind of pride — that moment — is worth every challenge and effort I faced along the way.
But the most valuable part of this journey wasn’t the crown. It was the path that led me to it — the people I met, the lessons I learned, and the transformation I went through. I became a new version of myself: more confident, grounded, and radiant. I can literally see the difference in my photos from before and after — not just in appearance but in energy. The confidence, self-worth, and inner strength are now part of who I am.
The crown became more than a symbol—it became a
tool. My hands have grown stronger because now I can help more people. My voice has become louder, and I’m heard not only on stage but also in social projects, charity work, and public speaking. People listen, which means I carry a responsibility with every word I say. This win gave me the platform to speak up, inspire, and lead.
Most importantly, I realized true beauty isn’t just about how you look. It’s about who you are, how you carry yourself, and the energy you bring into the world. It’s about wisdom, action, and harmony.
5. You live in Miami. How did you manage to blend the American lifestyle with your Ukrainian identity?
Living in Miami has been an extraordinary journey
that has allowed me to embrace the best of two worlds— the boundless opportunities, energy, and freedom of the American spirit and the rich traditions, strength, and heartfelt resilience of my Ukrainian heritage.
I came to the United States, and this country gave me the space and support to make real what I couldn’t even dream of. Here, I’ve found a home and a community that welcomed, encouraged, and empowered me to grow. I’m endlessly grateful to America for the chance to build a life filled with purpose, love, and new beginnings. Becoming a U.S. citizen was not just a legal step but a moment of profound pride and appreciation.
At the same time, I have never let go of my Ukrainian identity. I continue to honor our traditions, celebrate our holidays, speak our language at home, and support the Ukrainian community here. My culture is a deep part of who I am, and I carry it with pride wherever I go.
But for me, being Ukrainian and being American are
not in conflict—they complement each other. Ukraine gave me my roots, and America gave me wings. Today, I live as a proud blend of both—a Ukrainian soul and an American heart.
6. Do you feel the support of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States?
Absolutely. I feel a deep and heartfelt support from the Ukrainian diaspora here in the United States. In fact, they became my team, my partners, and my friends throughout my journey to the crown. This is an extraordinary community of strong, conscious, and united individuals who carry their heritage with pride and never forget where they come from.
With every meeting, every message, every kind word of encouragement, I feel the warmth and strength of our shared identity. That unity fuels me. It inspires me to work harder, speak louder, and represent our culture and values with dignity and pride.
The Ukrainian diaspora in the U.S. is a beautiful example of how distance cannot weaken identity. On the contrary — it strengthens our spirit. Their support has been one of the most powerful sources of motivation and pride for me on this path.
7. In your opinion, what can Ukrainian women bring to the world in the sphere of beauty and female leadership?
My victory at the international pageant once again proved what I’ve always believed — Ukrainian women are among the most beautiful in the world. But our true power lies beyond appearances. We carry a unique blend of strength, elegance, intelligence, and resilience.
In the realm of beauty, Ukrainian women show the world that true attractiveness is not just about how you look — it’s about depth, values, culture, and kindness. Beauty is a reflection of the soul, and we shine from within.
When it comes to female leadership, Ukrainian women are redefining what it means to lead. We lead with heart. Our leadership is rooted in empathy, courage, and an unshakable spirit. We know how to be determined and compassionate at the same time.
We don’t just inspire — we take action. We turn challenges into opportunities, pain into power, and dreams into results. And with that spirit, we have the potential not only to transform our own lives, but to impact the world around us in meaningful ways.
8. After your victory, you became a coach for women who dream of the stage. What inspired you to take that path?
After winning, I felt a deep calling to give back and continue my royal path. I realized that my story, my journey, and my transformation could become a source of strength for other women. I know firsthand the doubts, fears, and invisible walls women face — not just in beauty pageants, but in life. Every time a woman comes to me, I see a version of my past self. I see a spark with the
potential to shine on the biggest stages. Some question whether victory is even possible for them. Others just need me to believe in them, help and support — so they can shine brighter than any star. That’s why I’m here: to support, to guide, and to help each woman step into her unique brilliance.
I wanted to be the voice of encouragement, the safe space, the spark of belief. I don’t just teach pageant strategies — I help women see their worth, step into their light, and celebrate their uniqueness. Every time one of my queens steps on stage, it’s like I’m right there with her. Her victory becomes mine too — we live those moments together.
What touches me most is watching how these women transform — not just on the outside, but from within. Their energy shifts, their confidence rises, their posture changes. They begin to shine, not only in a gown, but in everyday life. That’s my art. That’s my joy. That’s what makes me proud.
I’m on a mission to break the last remaining stereotypes that limit women by age. Ageism has no place in the modern world. Beauty, power, and purpose do not expire. A woman is radiant whenever she chooses to be — and I’m here to help her remember that.
9. What are the main themes you cover in your mentorship program?
First and foremost, I want every woman to know that she is beautiful — regardless of her age, height, weight, or any other external trait. True beauty lies in how a
woman carries herself: in her posture, her presence, her voice, what she says, what clothes, makeup and hairstyles she chooses, how she moves. My goal is to help women discover and present the very best version of themselves — the one that’s already within them.
In my mentorship program, I focus not just on outward transformation but on building true inner strength. The core themes include:
• building confidence and self-worth;
• mastering self-presentation;
• stage and camera presence;
• emotional intelligence;
• feminine leadership;
• personal goal-setting and vision planning.
Another key element is learning how to balance beauty, family, career, and ambition without losing yourself in the process. I don’t just prepare women for the runway — I help them unlock their full potential and become the version of themselves they and their loved ones can be deeply proud of.
10. What’s the difference between internal and external preparation — and which is more important?
External preparation is what the world sees first: your walk, your posture, your style, your makeup, how you carry yourself on stage. It’s important — it creates the first impression and enhances your presence.
Inner preparation is the foundation of it all. It’s about self-belief, clarity of values, emotional resilience, motivation, and purpose. That’s what gives a woman her glow, her power, her authenticity. Without inner strength, even the most flawless appearance can feel empty. People don’t just see you — they feel you.
Internal preparation allows you not only to step onto the stage, but to stay centered, handle pressure, and own both your victories and your challenges with grace, conquer the jury of the pageant and the audience.
That said, we absolutely invest time in external transformation as well! I have so many effective tools and secrets that can elevate any woman’s appearance — often to a level where even she is surprised by her own reflection. When the inner and outer align, that’s when a true queen is born.
11. You work with women from different countries. In your opinion, what qualities unite strong women regardless of nationality?
Working with women from across the globe — I’ve come to realize something deeply powerful: true feminine strength transcends borders. Culture, language, and background may differ, but the essence of a strong woman is universal.
What unites strong women everywhere is their resilience — the ability to rise after falling, to rebuild themselves with grace, and to keep believing even when no one else does. These women are committed to growth, to leading with compassion, and to creating impact not just for themselves, but for their families, their communities, and the world.
They embody empathy, emotional intelligence, and courage. They know how to be soft and powerful at the same time — to nurture and to lead, to support others without losing themselves in the process.
And above all, they radiate love. Love for themselves, for others, and for life. That inner light — the heart-led strength — is what connects powerful women across every nation. It’s what makes them not just beautiful, but unforgettable.
12. Do you ever feel like everything is in vain? What do you tell your students during those moments?
Yes, absolutely — there are moments when it feels like everything is falling apart, when the doubts are louder than your dreams. And that’s okay. It’s part of the journey.
During pageant prep, I often see my queens cry. They feel overwhelmed, exhausted, pushed far outside their comfort zone — and then I ask them to do even more, to go even further. At that moment, it feels impossible to them. But they take that step, they push through — and then, something beautiful happens: they rise, they transform, they shine, and they win.
I always tell my queens: allow yourself to feel. Cry if you need to, rest if you must — but don’t stop. Remind yourself why you started. Look at how far you’ve come. Even the tiniest step forward is more powerful than standing still. And always remember: it’s darkest just before the dawn. You are stronger than you think.
I’ve had those moments too — when everything seemed lost and success felt out of reach. But I made a choice to keep going, to start again if needed, and to believe that failure is just part of the process. When you keep showing up, keep working, keep growing — success becomes inevitable.
And I want every woman reading this to hear me: you will succeed. Not because it’s easy, but because you are powerful, determined, and worthy of everything you dream of. Just keep going.
13. Which of your students’ success stories touched you the most?
Every one of my queen has a story that inspires me, but there’s one that moved me to tears — and I’ll carry it in my heart forever.
She was a beautiful woman on the outside, but full of
fear and doubt on the inside. She didn’t believe she belonged on a stage — not because she wasn’t worthy, but because life had taught her to shrink herself. She walked into our first session almost apologetically, as if her presence needed permission. But I saw in her something powerful — a quiet light just waiting to shine.
We worked not only on her walk, pose, and stage presence, but on rebuilding her confidence, her voice, her belief in her own value. And then came the day she walked on stage — tall, radiant, eyes glowing with newfound self-worth — and in that moment, I knew she had already won.
She beat the loudest voice that holds so many women back:
“I’m not enough.”
Her transformation wasn’t just physical — it was spiritual, emotional, personal. And even before she received a title, she had already claimed something more important: her power.
That’s why I do what I do. Because for me, this isn’t just about pageants — it’s about helping women come home to themselves, and shine brighter than they ever believed possible.
14. How do you see the modern mission of beauty pageants?
Modern beauty pageants are no longer just about physical appearance. Their true mission today is to give women a voice — a powerful platform for self-expression, social impact, and personal growth. It’s a space where women can share their stories, raise awareness on important topics, and inspire others through their strength, intelligence, and authenticity.
Pageants today gather incredible women from all over the world — strong, driven, compassionate, and unique. It’s an amazing opportunity for meaningful networking, deep connection, and genuine sisterhood. Women don’t compete here — they collaborate, uplift, and empower each other.
These contests prove that beauty has no age, no single shape, no fixed size. A woman can be radiant at any stage of life — when she knows who she is, believes in her worth, and shares that light with the world.
Because true beauty is a reflection of inner strength, confidence, and purpose — and that’s what truly makes a woman unforgettable.
15. Do you plan to create your own educational platform or school for women?
I believe it already exists — at least in its first form! Through my social media, I inspire women every single day, share my personal stories and secrets of success, and create a space for open conversations and growth. That’s already a learning platform in itself.
I also work one-on-one with women as a coach and mentor, helping them unlock their potential, find their confidence, and move toward their goals.
In addition, I occasionally co-host training programs in partnership with the Influencer Academy — where we
teach how to build a strong personal brand, grow and monetize your social media, and use online platforms in a meaningful and empowering way.
Today, social media can be an incredible tool for selfdevelopment and transformation — if you know how to use it right. And I’m here to help women do exactly that — step into their power and shine, both online and in real life.
16. What are your dreams beyond the runway and the cameras?
My dreams go far beyond the runway and the spotlight. And I’m grateful to say — I see a beautiful pattern: many of my dreams are coming true, one by one.
I dream of creating projects that truly change lives — educational, philanthropic, and cultural initiatives that empower women around the world. I want to build platforms where women can discover their strength, embrace their uniqueness, and feel supported and inspired. For me, it’s about more than visibility — it’s about impact. I want to use my voice and my experience to stand up for those who feel unheard, and to create something lasting, something real and meaningful.
One of my deepest values is family. I’m incredibly proud of mine. Today, I see how difficult it is for many people to build healthy, loving relationships. For many years in Ukraine, I ran a matchmaking agency — it’s actually how I met my husband! Through our work, we helped countless people find love and build strong families.
Due to the war, we had to pause that work, but I dream of relaunching it in a new format. The world needs more love — not just romantic love, but connection, mutual respect, care, and true partnership. That’s a mission I hold close to my heart: to help people not only meet the right person, but build a relationship that lasts and fulfills them both.
17. The most important value in life?
My people and my family.
Your morning ritual?
I love starting my mornings slowly, savoring every moment. I always call my mom in Ukraine and my friend in Washington. I enjoy having breakfast at home. One thing that never changes — a whole avocado is a must on my plate, while the rest of the breakfast may vary. And coffee with almond milk.
19. What Ukrainian dish tastes like home to you?
My dad’s cabbage rolls and my mom’s cherry or plum pies
20. What would you tell yourself 10 years ago?
I would love to go back and see myself during one of the hardest times of my life — going through my first divorce. I was alone with my son, without a job, without money, without support… It was terrifying and heartbreaking.
I would tell that woman:
“This pain is temporary. It’s not the end of your story — it’s the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. Don’t let fear or heartbreak stop you. Keep moving, no matter how slow. One day you’ll be loved, valued, and successful. You’ll build a life full of meaning, joy, and strength. Everything you dream of is still ahead — and it’s you who’ll create it. Just believe. You’ve got this.”
21. Your message to Ukrainian women around the world
To all Ukrainian women around the world —
You are powerful, unique, and beautiful — not just on the outside, but in your heart, your soul, and your actions. These are difficult times for all of us. Many have lost their homes, their loved ones, their sense of stability. But your life is still yours — and it’s worth living fully and joyfully.
Live for yourself. For those you love. For those we’ve lost.
And remember — the darkest hour always comes before the dawn.
You are stronger than you think. You can still start over. Imagine you’re 80 years old… what would you tell your 30, 40, or 50-year-old self? Probably something like: “There’s still so much ahead. Don’t be afraid. You can do this.”
So let me say this to you now: Believe in yourself. Take action. Keep dreaming. Build a life you truly love.
Wherever you are — in Europe, America, Asia — carry the light of Ukraine with you.
We are women of dignity, wisdom, and strength. Support each other. Unite. Walk your path with courage and grace.
Together, we are unstoppable.
And I believe in you — each and every one of you. Miami Florida
When the world around collapses, true strength is born — the strength of spirit, of feminine resilience, and of faith. The story of Olena Grytsynger is exactly that. She is one of those women who turn pain into wings and trials into a new rise.
Olena is a Ukrainian woman who was forced to flee the war, saving herself and her child. Her journey led through three countries. In Germany, just six months later, she didn’t just adapt — she created a new reality. She opened a permanent makeup studio and founded the women’s club “Girls of Saxony,” which became a space of support, growth, and inspiration for Ukrainian refugee women.
Olena became the first Ukrainian refugee in her district to officially register a business. She was noticed. She was recognized. She was appointed to the honorary position of National Director of Mrs. Globe Germany. For the third year in a row, she prepares representatives from Germany and other countries for international Mrs. Globe competitions through her own signature program, “The Queen’s Path.”
This path is not about beauty — it’s about strength. About transformation. About rediscovering dignity, confidence, and voice.
A year ago, Olena moved to the United States to be with the man she loves and started over once again. While on maternity leave with a young child, she never gave up her mission. She is developing a new permanent makeup studio in Maryland and has received international certification as a women’s coach to provide even deeper support for women in their search for power, harmony, and selfrealization.
Olena continues to lead the Mrs. Globe direction in Germany remotely and serves as a coach for the women she lovingly calls “queens.” Her new projects are already in development — initiatives aimed at awakening feminine uniqueness, supporting women in emigration, and restoring faith in themselves.
Her story isn’t just about success. It’s about the phoenix. About the strength of a Ukrainian woman who never gives up — even when she burns to ashes, she rises again. Germany
Organizing your own wedding is always a challenge. And when you only have two weeks — plus you’re a stylist professionally immersed in fashion and beauty — you want the result to be more than just beautiful. You want it to inspire. In this article, I’ll share how my partner and I managed to create a stylish and meaningful wedding that reflected who we are. And how, as a stylist, I approached designing my own look — personal, touching, and unforgettable.
Our starting point was the fact that both my fiancé and I feel deeply connected to water. It energizes, soothes, and inspires us. We both view it as our elemental source of strength. That’s why choosing to hold our ceremony on a yacht in Miami felt like a natural decision. It wasn’t just visually stunning — it was symbolic. Water became the foundation for the atmosphere, and of course, our wedding looks.
A yacht, sunshine, wind, waves — we needed something light, organic, comfortable, but still festive and stylish. A Miami summer leaves no room for layers, so we looked for the perfect balance between comfort and expression.
Groom’s Look: Black and White, the Yin and Yang
My fianc é is a former fashion designer with a sharp eye for style. He prefers minimalism and monochrome, especially black and white. I didn’t fight it — I embraced it. He wore white shorts and a black shirt — a simple yet striking combo that looked perfect against the backdrop of the blue ocean and the bright yacht. His look became the starting point for mine: I wanted to complement him without overwhelming the visual harmony, while adding my feminine touch.
The Dress: A Modern Fairytale
I chose a short dress by MESHKI — a trendy silhouette with a voluminous skirt and a defined waist. It highlighted my femininity and the soft lines of my figure. I’ve always loved rounded shapes — they reflect my personality — and I knew this design would feel like “me.”
The standout feature was the large bow at the back, mimicking a veil. It was almost theatrical — airy and
light, yet giving the look a doll-like charm, sweet but intentional. I wanted the outfit to feel weightless, but with a hint of edge — a little grunge, a little romance.
Accessories: Circles as a Motif
To echo the theme of flowing lines and water, I picked Ferragamo earrings — round and uniquely shaped. They
weren’t just a trendy accent; they were an integral part of the story, mirroring the dress’s curves and enhancing the overall impression. I love when accessories become part of the narrative — and that’s exactly what happened here.
My shoes were black patent sandals with a heel shaped like the YSL logo — elegant, yet bold. They embodied the mix of romance and rebellion that defines both our relationship and our love.
Hair and Makeup: Natural with a Twist
I chose an updo for two reasons. First, it was hot outside, and the dress emphasized the upper body and neck — I wanted to keep that area open. Second, I’m in love with the new trend for voluminous styles with a bit of teased texture — a nod to retro, but still modern, fresh, and unexpected.
I did my makeup myself — I have eight years of experience in the beauty industry. I went for a light, nearly invisible base with a healthy glow, soft blush accents, and a diffused eyeliner to add definition without clashing with the dress. It all worked together.
The Bouquet: Pearlescent Inspiration
My bouquet was a story on its own. A friend helped me create it. We went with calla lilies — elegant and ontrend. But to make it truly special, she literally crafted pearl-covered stems by hand. It turned into a true art piece that echoed both the water theme and femininity. It felt organic and absolutely unique. So very me.
The Boldest Move: Love Letters on the Dress
I took a risk — and I’m so glad I did. Inspired by a fashion brand known for using text in its designs, I decided to make the dress even more personal. Using fabric markers, I wrote all our love phrases on
the dress — pet names, declarations, our shared language. I also decorated the gloves with my fiancé’s name and phrases that mean a lot to us.
It was deeply personal, emotional, and powerful. When he saw me — he was stunned. Even as a very creative person, he didn’t expect this. He read every word, as did our guests. The emotions were real. I saw it in their eyes. It was beautiful.
The Meaning: A Couple That Reflects a Lifestyle
Our wedding wasn’t just stylish — it was us. A couple unafraid to take risks, to do things our own way, to love boldly, to be ambitious and a bit rebellious. Our looks blended romance with grunge, fashion with individuality. It wasn’t a story about what’s “right,” but about what’s done with love. You could feel it in the location, in the looks, in the details.
Yes, we had only two weeks. But it proved that even in a short time, you can create a wedding that’s stylish, meaningful, and deeply personal — if you know what message you want to send, and if you know how to express it through fashion, aesthetics, and symbolism. I’m so happy I was able to do that — as a woman, a bride, and a stylist.
If you’re planning your wedding and want your look to be more than just beautiful — to truly reflect you, full of meaning, detail, and the energy of love — I’d be thrilled to help you create it.

On May 18, 2025, Yelizaveta was invited to perform a show dance at the prestigious Ms. Grand Florida competition in Miami. Together with her partner, she captivated the audience with a sensual rumba and a fiery cha-cha-cha, earning standing ovations and becoming one of the brightest highlights of the evening. Another major milestone was her appearance at Fashion Week 2025 in Miami, where she stunningly showcased Siren Couture swimwear and the Cioccolato Couture cruise collection, continuing to impress the fashion world. What’s truly impressive: during House of Paradise Fashion Week, Yelizaveta shined not only as a model but also captivated the audience with a passionate rumba performance.
Born and raised in Kyiv, Yelizaveta has been in love with dance since childhood. Her career includes numerous victories and finals in Ukrainian and international competitions — including the quarterfinal of the prestigious All WDC Disney Paris 2016. On May 11, 2017, she
and her partner took 3rd place at the Kyiv Stars Latin Cup, and that same year reached the semifinals at the Moldova Dance Festival.
Yelizaveta holds two degrees: a Master’s in International Economics from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (2010) and a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and Sports Dance Coaching from the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine (2013).
In 2010, she opened her own dance club, where she not only taught children the art of ballroom dance but also prepared them for competitions — often serving as a judge herself. Her students frequently won Ukrainian dance contests. In 2012, three couples and three solo girls from her studio successfully competed in the “Mykolaiv Star” tournament.
Yelizaveta is a proud wife and mother of three wonderful sons. Even with a full family life and a dynamic schedule, she continues to pursue her dreams.
In April 2025, on the stage of Ms. USA Universe, she earned two prestigious titles:
Ms. Model USA Universe — for elegance and modeling talent
Ms. Fitness USA Universe — for outstanding physical form and charisma
The pageant, held in Las Vegas, included multiple stages: evening gown catwalk, swimsuit round, interviews, thematic photo shoots, and national costume presentations. Yelizaveta showcased not only her outer beauty but also her depth, strength of character, and professional -
On March 2nd, 2025, Yelizaveta also competed and proudly won the title of Ms. Grand Women Miami. She showcased her talent with a dynamic cha-cha dance performance, demonstrated her modeling skills, and participated in a brief interview about the role of women in society, leaving a lasting impression on the judges and audience alike.
With over 25 years of experience in dance and modeling, Yelizaveta is not only a performer — she is a creator. She developed a unique comb specifically designed to help create perfect stage hairstyles. Now awaiting patent approval, her invention features bristles of varying lengths that simultaneously lift and smooth hair into place, ensuring it stays styled even through dynamic dance movements.
She is also the creator of an original dance warm-up method, currently pending copyright certification. This method, based on the isolated activation of individual body parts — from the smallest to the largest amplitude — is already being successfully used in the training of dancers. It improves body control, reduces injury risk, and enhances both technical precision and artistic expression.
Once she only dreamed of wearing a crown — now, she has become a symbol of strength, confidence, and feminine inspiration. Her story proves that it’s possible to build a career while being a devoted mother.
Her dance performances, victories in ballroom competitions, appearances on fashion runways and in beauty pageants, her patented hairstyling tool, and her original warm-up technique — all contribute to the growth of the dance and modeling industries in both the U.S. and Ukraine.
Yelizaveta’s journey is a powerful example that even in subjective spheres like art, fashion, and beauty, success is possible — when talent meets discipline, when you pour your soul into your passion, and when you never give up.
Eighty-four-year-old Eugenia arrived in Sweden during the third year of a war that reshaped her world. The Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 had driven millions from their homes, but for Eugenia, the journey carried even deeper heartbreak. She came to join her daughter and grandson after laying her husband to rest — stepping into a new life, yet carrying the weight of the old one with her.
She brought few possessions. Among them, quietly nestled, was her husband’s tie.
For Eugenia — like countless other women — this simple accessory was never about fashion, formality, or history. It was about love. The tie was part of a life built together over decades. It held memories of shared mornings and quiet evenings, milestones celebrated and hardships endured. In the uncertainty of exile, it became her silent anchor — a reminder of connection, resilience, and the comfort of what once was.
Ties have long been symbols of strength, dignity, and tradition. Their history reaches back to the 17th century, when Croatian soldiers, celebrated for their valor during the Thirty Years’ War, arrived at the French royal court wearing bright silk neckerchiefs. Their distinctive look caught the attention of Louis XIV, who soon embraced the style himself, turning it into a continental trend. The French word cravate, derived from Croate (Croat), was born — and with it, the tie’s enduring place in European culture.
Today, in Eugenia’s hands, the tie became something more. Not just a relic of her husband’s wardrobe, but a symbol of love that defies war, distance, and loss. It is a
thread that binds the past to the present — and a quiet testament to the enduring power of memory.
For centuries, ties have spoken a language all their own — subtle, yet powerful. During the French Revolution, they became more than mere adornment; the French used tie colors to signal their political beliefs. In England, the tie evolved into a mandatory emblem of gentlemanly decorum. Across the Atlantic, American innovator Jesse Langsdorf revolutionized menswear in 1924, patenting the modern «ideal tie,» crafted in three bias-cut pieces — the design still recognized today as classic.
For generations, ties reigned as one of the few socially accepted accessories for men. They represented pride, status, and personal style. Men curated collections, amassing drawers and wardrobes filled with silken treasures — hundreds of millions sewn and worn over the decades. Although the world has moved on and demand has faded, ties remain quietly tucked away in many homes. They sit like relics, cherished as tokens of another era.
But the tie Eugenia brought to Sweden became something else entirely.
No longer destined to rest in a drawer, this particular tie was transformed. Guided by love and memory, Eu -
genia’s hands shaped it into a delicate rose brooch — a keepsake to wear close to her heart, infused with her story and spirit.
Eugenia’s daughter later took her to a gathering of Ukrainian refugees in Sweden — a space of solace and creativity organized by artist Lyudmila Khristeseva. It was there that the rose caught the artist’s eye and stirred something deep within her.
«I saw more than a simple flower,» Khristeseva reflects. «This rose carried roots far beyond one woman’s grief. I wanted one for myself — as a way to honor the grandfather I never knew and to stand with my mother, who grew up fatherless. And now, in this new war, how many more children will face the same? How many roses will bloom from sorrow? A million? A billion?»
Moved by Eugenia’s quiet act of transformation, Lyudmila Khristeseva saw an opportunity — not only to preserve memories, but to give women a voice through craft. Handicraft, long considered part of the female domain, became a form of healing and empowerment. Determined to nurture this outlet, the artist created welcoming spaces for Ukrainian women across Sweden to gather, create,
and share.
Over the past three years, as war raged on, these workshops grew — hosted in cities and museums across Sweden, each filled with stories as unique as the roses they inspired. Together, they form a tapestry of resilience, where ties once tied around collars now bloom proudly, pressed close to hearts.
Across centuries and cultures, women have turned to their hands in times of turmoil. Ukrainian women are no exception. Through embroidery, sewing, knitting, baking, and weaving camouflage nets, they channeled their collective grief and fragile hopes into acts of creation — each stitch and gesture becoming a quiet defiance against despair.
Amid this tapestry of survival, artist Lyudmila Khristeseva — already acclaimed for her conceptual art projects — saw the potential to weave something even more profound. Inspired by Eugenia’s rose-shaped brooch, she proposed scaling up the idea, giving it both a name and a new life: Roses of Ties.
With a simple invitation posted on social media, Lyudmila Khristeseva called on others to join the movement.
She asked people to bring ties — forgotten treasures tucked away in drawers and closets — to transform them into brooches. The response was immediate and heartfelt. Swedes brought vintage silk ties, some bearing the labels of legendary fashion houses. These elegant relics, once symbols of masculine formality, were offered up to become part of something far more intimate and inclusive.
Participants had options: they could craft their own brooches in guided workshops or donate their ties to a growing community of Ukrainian women artisans. Even 84-year-old Eugenia, despite limited dexterity, found meaningful ways to contribute — proof that artistry knows no age or limitation.
But Roses of Ties is more than an artistic endeavor. It is, at its core, about healing.
For many, the act of creating became a form of therapy. Every cut, fold, and stitch offered a way to process loss, reclaim dignity, and reconnect with a past that war had violently fractured. These brooches are not just beautiful — they are deeply symbolic. Each rose whispers stories of women who lost homes, loved ones, and certainty, yet still chose life and creativity over sorrow.
In a world obsessed with fast fashion and fleeting trends, these handcrafted brooches offer something radical: permanence. They are not just decorative. They are meaningful. Through them, Roses of Ties transcends craft and becomes a cultural phenomenon — seamlessly
blending fashion, art, therapy, and the enduring power of the feminine spirit.
This is slow fashion with soul. This is sustainable design born of necessity and love. And this is circular economy at its most poetic — ties once destined for oblivion now reborn as cherished symbols of resilience.
Eugenia’s story brings this full circle. She never knew her father, who died in World War II. Her earliest memories are of hiding in a basement with her mother as bombs fell. Eight decades later, war found her again, forcing her to flee Ukraine for a foreign land. Her daughter, too, will now live with absence — she will never see her father again. But she will wear his tie transformed, lovingly reshaped into a rose that rests near her heart.
Through Roses of Ties, countless women — regardless of background or nationality — find solidarity in that gesture. They understand. They relate. They support.
Because this project is more than a story about refugees or handicrafts. It is about memory that refuses to gather dust. It is about a flower pinned to a lapel, speaking softly of love, loss, and courage. It is about women’s hands — steady and tender — turning fragments of the past into objects of grace and meaning.
In every brooch, there blooms not just a rose, but a testament: beauty can rise from the rubble, and hope can take root even in exile.

My name is Oleksiy Tryfonov, and I am proud to be an ambassador for the magazine «Ukranians and the World» in the Netherlands. This role allows me to gather and highlight the stories of Ukrainians living in this country, so the world can learn about our culture, resilience, and remarkable achievements. The magazine serves as a platform for Ukrainians living abroad to share their experiences and create solidarity within the Ukrainian community.
The relationship between Ukrainians and the Dutch has deep roots, stemming from historical ties formed through trade and cultural exchanges. The year 2022 became a significant test when Russian aggression caused immense suffering among Ukrainians. However, the Dutch showed unwavering support for our country, standing up for humanity and justice. Since the beginning of the war until May 2025, the Netherlands has become a second home for many Ukrainians seeking safety and new opportunities.
Moreover, Ukrainian culture, traditions, and values have positively influenced the relationship between our two countries. We share common views on the importance of peace, tolerance, and cooperation.
As the head of the intergovernmental committee Rotary ICC Ukraine - Netherlands, I focus on strengthening friendly relations between our countries. Together, we can overcome difficulties and create a future filled with hope and mutual understanding.

Friends, sexuality intertwines with our lives from the very birth of our “self.” After all, the beginning of life requires the meeting of partners — and a bit of the magic of love!
I am a practicing psychologist with over 20 years of experience in individual and couples counseling on sexuality.
Many people often ask me to recommend films where physical love comes alive in our imagination and awakens desire in the bedroom.
That’s why I’m launching a new column: Erotic Film Therapy with Sexologist Tatyana Slavina — a space where you’ll discover films that may reveal something new and deeply personal for you.
Today’s film: Flesh + Blood (1985) by Paul Verhoeven
A movie that left an unforgettable mark on my adolescent mind!
This film was so impactful for me that analyzing it became a form of therapy — I even included it in my very first film therapy course.
Welcome to Flesh + Blood:
A journey between passion and brutality — or how darkness reveals the truth of love.
This bold, profound, and provocative film intertwines life and death, honor and sin, sensuality and violence into a raw, visceral thread of human experience.
From the first frames, the viewer is thrown into the heart of medieval Europe — an era of violence, cynicism, and primal energy, where survival demands not only courage, but also the readiness to cross any moral boundary.
The characters: not a fight for love — but for the self
At the center is Lady Agnes, forced to choose between two men:
• Martin, the rough, defiant, magnetic mercenary
• and Steven, the noble but naive baron.
Yet this is not just a choice between two lovers — it is a choice between two aspects of her own self:
• Martin (Rutger Hauer) represents primal force, raw masculinity with no limits. He awakens Agnes’s shadow side — forbidden fantasies, wild passion, and raw power.
With him, she becomes uninhibited, untamed, sensual.
But beneath his brutality lies deep vulnerability, pain, and a longing for love.
• Steven Arnolfini (Tom Burlinson) is the opposite: a symbol of purity, morality, and intellect.
Yet his descent — from idealist to ruthless manipulator — shows how betrayal and disillusionment can twist the human soul.
Agnes is not a victim. She explores her limits through sexuality
Her journey is not about morality — it’s an existential quest:
Who am I? Who can I become beside this man?
The intimate scenes in the film are complex and provocative.
The scene of sexual violence between Martin and Agnes is not mere aggression — it’s a symbolic ritual: a confrontation with fears, desires, and inner contradictions.
• For Martin, it’s a struggle with feelings he doesn’t
know how to express except through force.
• For Agnes, it’s a rupture between social norms and a pull toward absolute freedom.
These scenes are critical for sexologists — they reflect the deep ties between sexuality, psyche, trauma, and identity.
Eroticism here isn’t about bodies — it’s about essence
A kiss beneath the gallows, the burial of a baby, magical rituals — all of it evokes both disgust and awe.
Love and death, desire and fear, sanctity and depravity — closely interwoven.
Bodies and touch are not for arousal. They are language.
Through flesh, the characters discover themselves and each other. Through blood, they communicate meaning and pain.
Characters transform — not for plot, but for self-discovery
• Martin longs to become the “man in white,” but clean clothes can’t wash away a wounded soul.
• Steven, drenched in blood and filth, is willing to commit atrocities, though he once believed in humanism.
• The mercenary’s love for a prostitute is deep, painful, and sacrificial.
Oh, I can’t contain my emotions!
I invite you to dive deeper into this film in my exclusive Film Therapy Program — already available through subscription, along with other courses!
Why should you watch this film? Because it challenges you — and opens space for deep conversations with your partner:
1. Sexuality as a path to self..
The characters don’t just choose a lover — they choose themselves.
Their sexual decisions reflect their battles with shadows, traumas, and the past.
2. The duality of victim and aggressor.
The film shows how opposites coexist within us.
A victim can be powerful. An aggressor — deeply wounded.
3. Sexuality and social taboos.
The story explores the boundaries of “normal” and “sinful,” and how these labels shape our desires.
Flesh + Blood is not just a story — it’s an experience.
A mirror of our fears, desires, and search for self.
Allow yourself to walk this path with the characters. See who you are.
But a gentle warning — the film contains scenes of violence and war that may be triggering.
That’s why I created this analysis long ago, but only now am I ready to share it.
Still, this film is worth seeing. It is raw, dark, honest.
And that unforgettable line:
“You are my flesh. You are my blood…”
Makes your heart beat faster.
Watch the film. Share your thoughts. Film therapy: at sexologyspace.online/Uk
Alona Komisarchuk
I am Alona Komisarchuk, a Ukrainian woman living in New York City, though my heart is always with Ukraine. My life is a journey of continuous growth, learning, and service. I am currently adapting my studies in the U.S. to become a nurse because I strive to be of help to people — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
My mission is to be a bridge between cultures, to support Ukrainians around the world, and to show that Ukrainian identity is not just about the past — it holds a powerful future.
Together with the magazine “Ukrainians and the World,” I want to share the stories of those who are not afraid to dream, transform, and take action. Ukrainians abroad are a great force, and my goal is to unite this force around knowledge, support, beauty, and self-belief.
My love for literature teaches me to listen more deeply and understand more fully, while my love for Ukraine teaches me never to give up.
I believe that the true beauty of our nation lies not only in appearance but in dignity, intelligence, kindness, and the desire to create a new reality.
I am the voice of a young Ukrainian woman in a vast world — and my heart will always beat to the rhythm of Ukraine.
My name is Yevgeniya Smirnova, I used to work for many years as a Ukrainian litigation lawyer and after obtaining my degree in the UK, I gained experience in private international law (issues related to various business processes, especially in the financial sector). I have been living in the US for three years now, first in Florida and now in Massachusetts.
It is very important for me to share my own experience, which I am still gaining on the road of life. I love discovering new things - a city I’ve never been to, a painting I’ve never seen, a song I’ve never heard. This is what brings peace and meaning to my life.
I am Liliia Bielousova, a Ukrainian woman who has been living in the United States, in the state of Oregon, since 2022.
My inner calling is to help parents raise happy and successful children. To help adults find their way back to themselves — to a conscious, joyful life. This mission guided me in Ukraine — and I carried it with me into my new life across the ocean.
When I moved to the U.S., I had to start everything from scratch — and sometimes from even lower than that. But it was within this challenge that I discovered strength.
I founded the consulting company Conscious Parenting, LLC, and now I’m on the verge of launching an Educational and Developmental Center for children called Playful Pals LLC.
The idea was simple yet profound: If I could walk this path myself, I can guide others through it too.
Creative expression has always been close to my heart. My deepest passion lies in creating original intellectual products.
I love giving birth to new meanings, shaping ideas into forms that touch, inspire, and transform. Writing books, creating games, developing training programs — this is how I stay connected with myself, the world, and the people I serve.
This is more than a profession. It’s a calling — to catch something invisible, make sense of it, and pass it on to others.
And I find deep fulfillment in seeing how my creations help people better understand themselves, discover new horizons, heal relationships, or find the strength to change.
Today, together with the magazine “Ukrainians and the World,” I help Ukrainians not only adapt to their new realities but also rise — to believe in themselves, realize their dreams, and find inner grounding even far from home.
I sincerely believe that the future lies in strong communities — where people support one another, share experiences, offer comfort in hard times, and celebrate victories together.
In spaces where there is warmth, where every voice is heard, where everyone can truly be themselves — new stories of strength are born.
And “Ukrainians and the World” is exactly such a community.

Olha Anisimova
I had long dreamed of doing something to unite and support the Ukrainian community in the United Kingdom—especially in London and Cardiff.
There are many Ukrainians here working in various fields: the beauty industry, real estate, transportation services, as well as talented artists, musicians, painters, and organizers of charity events and concerts. But there was a lack of a platform that could connect them all and provide essential information. When I discovered the wonderful magazine UKRAINIANS AND THE WORLD, published by Olena Yaremchuk, I was truly impressed. This magazine represents the Ukrainian community in over 17 countries around the world. It offers a high-quality presentation, engaging articles, and a noble mission. That’s why I am delighted to become the magazine’s representative in the United Kingdom.
About me: I hold a degree in law and previously worked in the legal field in Ukraine. Currently, I provide consultations on launching, developing, and financing business projects in the UK. (If you’re interested in more details, feel free to read about it in Issue # 2 of UW Magazine, page 44.) In my free time, I enjoy sports, traveling, socializing, and visiting exhibitions, museums, and other cultural events.
