Dear Readers!

The time has come for the second issue of the “Ukrainians and the World” magazine. With each new edition, we are increasingly convinced that our publication is not just a source of information but a true platform uniting Ukrainians around the world. We proudly share the achievements of our compatriots—scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, and all those who bring glory to Ukraine through their talent and hard work.

I am especially pleased to note that our magazine has gained a systematic format. From now on, every two months, we will introduce you to new success stories, unique inventions, and significant scientific discoveries.

Our goal is not only to inform but also to inspire, showing that Ukrainian genius knows no boundaries.

As a lawyer, a specialist in copyright law, and a patent attorney, I strongly believe that intellectual property protection plays a key role in the development of science, technology, and the arts. Ukraine has always been a country of inventors, researchers, writers, and artists. Today, despite the challenges of our time, our compatriots continue to create, develop innovative technologies, and gain recognition on the international stage.

A special highlight of this issue is the participation of my dear mentor, a distinguished legal scholar Olena Pavlivna Orliuk. Her contribution to the development of science and the legal protection of intellectual property is invaluable. In her publication, she shares valuable insights on the future of innovation legislation and the importance of Ukraine protecting its scientific achievements on the global stage.

We have also prepared a series of exclusive materials

In this issue, we have paid special attention to young talents representing Ukraine on the world stage. he Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO/ IP Office) is working to ensure that Ukrainian inventions, brands, and unique products receive reliable protection in line with international standards and that the intellectual property (IP) system contributes to economic development and investment attraction.

nually on the implementation of this decision at future Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO; and taking steps to ensure that publications on WIPO resources and platforms adhere to the principles of Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. This decision has equipped us with legal mechanisms to protect the intellectual property of our producers – across all of Ukraine, including temporarily occupied territories.

With the involvement of national and international experts, WIPO provides valuable assistance in developing the National Strategy for the Development of Intellectual Property, which will become a strategic document for the advancement not only of the IP sector but also of business, science, and culture in Ukraine.

In this context, we actively defend Ukrainian geographical indications, including those that Russia is attempting to appropriate. One striking example is the “Melitopol Cherry,” a geographical indication and a part of Ukrainian identity and cultural heritage unlawfully seized by Russia. This is not just an economic or export issue; it is about preserving our identity and protecting our heritage from erasure or theft by the aggressor. And we are consistently defending this right at the international level.

ening Ukraine’s trade relations with the world, especially with the United States and the European Union. A transparent IP protection system sends a strong message to international partners that Ukraine is ready for fair competition in global markets. It also improves Ukraine’s investment climate. It is a “green light” for foreign investors willing to develop their businesses in Ukraine in high-tech, military-tech, agricultural, medical, and other sectors.

This is particularly relevant for the defence technology sector, which is rapidly developing amid the fullscale war. Ukrainian engineers and startups create unique technologies daily that help defend the country.

That is why Ukraine is building an effective IP protection system to not only support this innovative breakthrough but also ensure reliable legal protection for the technology owners, including those not residing in Ukraine. This is another step toward strengthening Ukraine’s national security and technological sovereignty.

An important element in enhancing trade relations is dialogue with the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Department of State on improving mechanisms to combat online piracy, counterfeiting and patent trolling.

Ukraine must also address these and other challenges on its path to full EU membership – and we are actively working on this.

European Integration and Intellectual Property Intellectual property is a crucial component of Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations. Implementing European standards in this area is part of Ukraine’s commitments within the negotiation framework.

In December 2024, a Ukrainian delegation that included representatives of the Ukrainian IP Office

reported to the European Commission in Brussels on the readiness of the national IP system for EU integration. This milestone followed a significant preparatory work: 30 government agencies, associations, and research institutions were involved, 25 presentations were prepared, responses to the European Commission’s questionnaire were provided, and Ukraine’s legislation was analysed for compliance with 26 EU legal acts. With the support of IP offices from the EU and Europe – the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the European Patent Office and international experts – two rounds of preparatory mock sessions were held. As a result, the European Commission highly commended Ukraine’s readiness in the IP sphere, confirmed the appropriate level of compliance, and expressed readiness for further support.

Among the key European integration tasks are establishing an effective enforcement mechanism, including the creation of a specialised IP Court, and amending nearly all sectoral laws on industrial property, copyright, and related rights. These will be major reforms.

Additionally, UANIPIO is actively working with local and regional authorities to launch similar support mechanisms and tools at the national level.

There is also significant potential in cooperating with the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States, which plays a crucial role in promoting Ukrainian brands, startups and technologies, and in preserving Ukrainian culture. Intellectual property is the foundation for strengthening these ties, as it guarantees legal protection and contributes to the international recognition of what is created in Ukraine.

IP as the Foundation of Economic Development Clear rules for the protection of copyright and industrial property rights create a favourable environment for business, research and innovation. UANIPIO is working to provide a transparent, efficient, accessible, and swift mechanism for IP registration.

For example, it has been agreed that Ukraine will implement the European procedure for trademark registration based on absolute grounds even before joining the EU. This is a strategic step that will help Ukrainian businesses adapt to European rules and practices. The transition to the new system means not only sim-

and an indicator of legal awareness among creators. At the same time, I would like to focus specifically on geographical indications.

Geographical indications are objects that the entire country can be proud of. They are also an effective tool for protecting national products and goods with unique characteristics linked to their place of origin.

From Hutsul bryndza and Zakarpattia wine to Frumushika lamb and Krolevets towels, these products are

an integral part of Ukrainian identity.

UANIPIO is actively working to expand the list of registered geographical indications, ensuring their legal protection both in Ukraine and internationally. This opens new export opportunities, increases trust in Ukrainian products, and stimulates regional economic growth.

The protection of geographical indications is also crucial for preserving Ukraine’s intangible cultural

heritage. Each of these products carries unique traditions, knowledge, and crafts passed down through generations. By safeguarding these assets through IP tools, we help preserve the individuality of our regions, strengthen national unity and enhance Ukraine’s global recognition.

How can you avoid trouble when choosing a person or an organization? For example, when electing a national leader, choosing a political or military commentator to trust, a business guru, a business partner, a contractor company, a hospital or doctor for quality treatment, the right candidate for an important job, a friend, or even a life partner? What should you pay attention to first? Image?

A well-crafted action plan?

Promises? PR? Appearance?

Self-confidence? Charisma?

Eloquence? A horoscope?

How to avoid trouble

T

o answer this question, we need to recall how we predict the future. If we exclude unreliable factors such as luck and intuition, only one thing remains: predicting the future based on an analysis of past experience. In other words, when making a choice, we look for similar past situations and analyze how events unfolded after a particular decision was made.

So how can we avoid trouble when selecting a leader, a partner, or a contractor? The reality is that meeting you is not a turning point in their life story. In other words, a person or a company will treat you exactly the way they

have treated others before.

Of course, gathering complete information about a person or an organization is not easy, but the good news is that you don’t need to know everything. All you need is information about their products.

The activities of any person or organization can be divided into three key areas: 1️) Who or what they are (e.g., a mayor, a businessman, a doctor, or a political party, a factory, a hospital).

2) What they do (e.g., managing municipal services, building companies, providing medical treatment).

3️) The product they create – the end result of their activities, which is valuable to others. For example, repaired roads, newly built homes, developed parks. Or thriving businesses with increasing revenue and a growing customer base. Or healthy patients.

The key point is that we should always focus only on the third area – the product. If a person or an organization has created real, tangible results in the past, there is a high probability that they will continue to do so in the future. Moreover, having a successful product indicates that both the first and second areas are functioning properly. However, if no product exists in the past, it is unlikely to appear in the future—so analyzing the first and second areas becomes irrelevant.

If a product exists, it can always be measured or counted, either by comparing it to previous results (to see trends) or by comparing it to the products of other people or organizations (competitors, colleagues, or job candidates).

Kozma Prutkov once said: «Look at the root.» We say: «Look at the product.» This is a universal principle for choosing politicians, leaders, managers, employees, partners, friends, and life companions.

As a coach, I work with people who, despite different stories, face surprisingly similar struggles. Together, we navigate the path from simply surviving to truly living again

The Stages of Immigration: Why It Feels So Hard Psychologists often describe immigration as a multistage process, each with its own emotional and psychological challenges: 1. The Honeymoon Stage – Everything feels exciting and new. The country seems full of opportunities, and there is a sense of adventure. People often feel motivated and hopeful at this stage.

2. Culture Shock – Reality starts to settle in. Language barriers, bureaucratic challenges, and cultural differences begin to feel overwhelming. Loneliness and frustration are common.

3. Disorientation and Identity Crisis – This is often the hardest stage. Many immigrants feel lost, questioning their value and abilities. Career setbacks, financial struggles, or the loss of a familiar social circle can lead to self-doubt.

4. Adjustment and Adaptation – Slowly, people begin to integrate into their new environment, developing routines and understanding how to navigate the system.

Confidence starts to return.

5. Rebuilding and Thriving – This is the stage where people not only adapt but start creating meaningful careers, relationships, and a sense of belonging in their new country.

When Do People Usually Seek Coaching?

Most of my clients come to coaching when they are stuck in stage three—Disorientation and Identity Crisis.

This is when they no longer feel like the person they used to be but don’t yet see a clear path forward. They may have lost confidence in their professional skills, feel emotionally exhausted, or struggle with decisions about their future.

Coaching is especially helpful for those who are ready to move forward but don’t know how. They don’t necessarily need therapy to heal deep emotional wounds, but they do need support in setting goals, regaining self-confidence, and actively creating a life that feels fulfilling.

Coaching vs. Therapy: What’s the Difference?

A common question I hear is: Should I see a therapist or a coach? The answer depends on what kind of support you need.

• Therapy focuses on healing past traumas, deep emotional wounds, and psychological issues. A therapist helps you process pain, deal with unresolved experiences, and restore emotional well-being.

• Coaching is about building new “muscles”—practical skills, mindset shifts, and strategies to move forward. It’s focused on personal growth, setting and achieving goals, and developing confidence in your abilities.

Think of it like this: if therapy is about recovering from an injury, coaching is about training to run a marathon.

It’s not about fixing what’s broken—it’s about making you stronger, more focused, and more resilient.

The Common Challenges Immigrants Face In my coaching practice, I hear many different stories, but the deeper challenges are often shared: • Some clients arrive with strong professional backgrounds but find themselves stuck in jobs far below their qualifications. Exhaustion from long hours and night shifts leaves them without energy to study the language or explore new career opportunities. Over time, dreams shrink, and life becomes just about getting through the day.

• Others face long periods of unemployment and start doubting whether their skills are even relevant anymore.

1. Olena, congratulations on your victory! What emotions did you feel at the moment when you heard your name among the winners?

When I heard my name among the winners, I was overwhelmed with incredible emotions—joy, pride, excitement. This moment was special not only for me but also for all of Ukraine. For the first time in many years, a representative of Ukraine, holding the title of Mrs. Ukraine, achieved the coveted first prize at such a prestigious international pageant.

Ukrainian women have always been symbols of beauty, strength, and elegance. However, when participating in global pageants, they often represented other countries and continents. Now, we have a historic victory where the title of Mrs. Universe World International has returned to Ukraine. This is not just a personal achievement but recognition that Ukrainian women’s beauty, intellect, and strength shine at the highest level.

2. How did you prepare for this pageant? Which aspects turned out to be the most challenging?

This wasn’t my first beauty pageant, so I already knew what challenges awaited me and which barriers I would need to overcome.

However, each preparation is a new challenge, which I approached with maximum responsibility, carefully considering every look.

I paid special attention to the national costume, as it was meant not only to highlight my individuality but also to convey the richness of Ukrainian culture. For this, I chose the image of Mavka—a mysterious and strong-spirited heroine of Ukrainian mythology, embodying a connection with nature, femininity, and inner strength. This image perfectly conveyed my philosophy and the soul of Ukraine.

4. In your opinion, what is the secret to winning such a prestigious pageant?

The secret to victory lies, first and foremost, in the ability to remain true to oneself. True beauty manifests not only in appearance but also in the energy you radiate, in your inner light.

For me, it was important to delve deeper into my nature, my energy, to uncover genuine femininity—natural, sincere, and fulfilling.

Another key aspect is sincerity and support. I believe that a smile, a kind word, a friendly atmosphere create a space where true grace and nobility can flourish.

But most importantly, it’s the harmony between soul and body. When you are in balance with yourself, your energy shines, and this light is noticeable to everyone.

This harmony makes a woman truly attractive, unique, and victorious.

3. What does this title mean to you?

How has it affected your life?

This title holds immense significance for me. Mrs. Universe World International is not just a crown but a powerful platform through which I can be heard, tell the world about my country, about myself as a Ukrainian woman, and about the values I uphold.

Thanks to this victory, I have the opportunity not only to make a name for myself but also to implement social projects that inspire and help women to discover themselves and realize their strength. One such project is “Manifest Yourself,” a unique journey for women who seek to understand themselves, their desires, and capabilities more deeply.

Another important step was creating my personal elegance brand, “Nobelle,” which embodies sophistication, style, and nobility. The brand’s name was born thanks to the Mrs. Universe pageant and the nomination in which I was recognized—Noble Woman of the World.

Therefore, winning Mrs. Universe World International not only changed my life but also opened new horizons, allowing me to create projects that help women world-

My mission is to inspire women to unveil their true essence, to feel the strength in femininity, in the ability to combine tenderness with inner resilience.

On Conquering Mountain Peaks 6. Your achievements go far beyond beauty pageants—you also conquer mountain peaks.

How did your love for mountaineering begin?

My love for mountaineering began unexpectedly— from curiosity and the desire to try something new. I ventured into the enchanting Carpathians to ascend the highest point of Ukraine—Hoverla. At that time, I didn’t know that this step would become the starting point of my new passion.

It’s important to note that mountaineering is not just about mountains. It’s about strength of spirit, support, and female synergy. When we ascend peaks, we don’t just traverse a route—we inspire each other, learn to trust, and discover inner strength.

7. What does mountaineering mean to you?

Is it a sport, a challenge, or a philosophy of life?

For me, mountaineering is primarily a philosophy of life. It’s a conscious reduction of comfort, a kind of mindful hedonism that allows one to reevaluate simple joys and feel gratitude for what one has. To truly experience happiness, sometimes it’s necessary to temporarily forgo conveniences, face challenges, and overcome oneself. And when you return—renewed, fulfilled, immensely grateful to the Universe for everything you have—you begin to see life differently.

However, mountaineering is also a test of oneself, a conversation with oneself. At some point on the way to the summit, you find yourself alone with your inner voice, and the whole world narrows down to one simple mantra: “Step. Another step. I can do it.” It’s a state of absolute concentration, where there’s no hustle, no doubts, no external distractions—there’s only you and your goal.

The mountains have shown me how persistent and

determined I can be in achieving my goals. They have taught me not to stop, even when it seems there’s no strength left. This has elevated my self-respect and belief in myself. After all, by conquering a summit, you overcome not only kilometers of altitude but also your own limits.

foremost, it’s the preparation—both physical and mental. In both cases, it’s not enough to simply have external attributes or physical endurance—you need to develop inner strength, believe in yourself, and overcome doubts.

It’s very important to allow yourself to believe that you can do it. Already at the preparation stage, you need to see yourself at the summit, feel that moment of triumph as if it has already happened. Mountaineering is not just steps upward but overcoming your own limits, just as a beauty contest is not just stepping onto the stage but deep inner work on yourself.

Another similarity is working with your fears and limitations. During an ascent and during a contest, moments of doubt can arise, but the key to victory is confidence in yourself, in your strength, beauty, and harmony. If you are internally stable, if you believe in yourself—you are already on the path to victory.

You know, even during this contest, I caught myself thinking that climbing a summit would be easier than going through all the stages of a beauty pageant. There was such intense excitement, such tension! But, as in the mountains, the main thing is not to stop, to take step after step, and move toward your summit.

8. Which summits have you already conquered, and which are still on your dream list?

To date, my list of conquered summits isn’t extensive, but each one is a special story of overcoming, strength, and inspiration. I have ascended Ararat, Kazbek, Mont Blanc, Kilimanjaro, and also the Orizaba volcano. These peaks have given me incredible emotions, tested my endurance, and expanded the boundaries of what’s possible.

But my journey in the world of heights continues. On my dream list are new challenges, new horizons. I’m particularly drawn to South America: Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Ojos del Salado volcano, and, of course, Aconcagua—the highest peak of the continent. Several summits await me in the Himalayas, and I know that one day I will ascend them.

However, for me, it’s not only about the summits but also about the great routes. I dream of trekking the trails of Patagonia, the Alps, and undertaking the iconic pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago. This world is vast and beautiful, and I want to see it, feel it, traverse it step by step. I want to—and I will do it.

9. Are there parallels between conquering mountains and participating in beauty contests?

How are they similar?

Yes, there are definitely parallels between mountaineering and participating in beauty contests. First and

I think about those who believe in me, who inspire me with their example, who await my return. These thoughts warm me even in the harshest conditions, providing an inner resource, helping me take another step forward—to the summit, to victory, to a new goal.

Each ascent, each new challenge, is not only my journey but also the journey of those who are beside me. It is their faith in me that makes me stronger.

On the combination of femininity and strength of spirit 11. You are a vivid example that a woman can be both refined, elegant, and incredibly strong in spirit. How do you manage to maintain this balance?

I am convinced that the balance between refinement, elegance, and strength of spirit is not something imposed or universal but a deeply individual state. Each woman combines these qualities in her own way, and I have never sought to compare myself to anyone else.

For me, it’s important not to meet others’ expectations but to be myself. I believe that one should not be ashamed of their nature, desires, and dreams. One should allow oneself to manifest as they feel, regardless of stereotypes and templates.

One can be gentle and refined, or strong and determined—and neither of these states diminishes femininity. I have always admired women leaders who run corporations and countries, but I realize that my path is

different. I am different, but that doesn’t make me any less strong or significant.

I sincerely admire every woman, as each of us is unique, beautiful, and unrepeatable. And I want to inspire others not to be afraid to be themselves, to reveal their nature, to live in harmony with their true desires and strength.

Do you think this stereotype can be broken?

How can beauty and strength be contrasted when strength lies in beauty? These are inseparable concepts.

It has always been important for me to impart to my daughter not only love and care but also certain life principles that I believe will help her walk through life with dignity and inner harmony. First and foremost, it’s a passion for the beautiful, the ability to see and appreciate beauty in everything—in art, nature, people. I wanted her not just to live in the world but to eagerly explore it, absorb different cultures, travel, discover new things.

It has always been important for me to convey that people are more important than things, that sincere relationships, friendship, kindness, and support are the most valuable things we have.

14. What moments of your connection with your daughter are especially valuable to you? What is it like to be not only a mother but also a business partner with your own child?

My daughter is my best friend and inspiration. We have always been close, but I especially value that we support each other in everything. We find joy in each other’s company, can discuss any topics, dream, make plans, travel, create. Our conversations, our joint projects, even just evening walks—all of this is priceless.

And now, having started a company together, I feel that our bond is reaching a new level. We are not only mother and daughter but also allies, partners who walk through life hand in hand. I am confident that we have many bright moments ahead, and this gives me incredible strength and motivation.

Beauty saves the world, and history has many statements confirming that a woman’s strength is in her beauty, and beauty is in strength.

We just need to understand that strength comes in different forms. It’s not always loud, harsh, assertive.

Women’s strength is soft, deep, unique. It manifests in grace, the ability to feel, the capacity to inspire and fill this world.

I have never seen a contradiction here. For me, this stereotype simply doesn’t exist—I broke it long ago. And I am sure that the more women realize their natural harmony, the faster this myth will disappear in society.

About future plans 15. What are your plans for the future? A new summit, a new competition, a new project?

I have already outlined a clear direction for myself in the near future: Developing the “Nobelle” brand in America—this is our joint project with my daughter, and it holds deep meaning for me, as elegance, beauty, and self-expression are what inspire me and what I want to pass on to others.

New travels—plans include Via Ferrata in the Alps and Dolomites in Italy. This is an incredible combination of adventure, nature, freedom, and self-overcoming.

Competitions and international projects—in April in Las Vegas, I will gladly pass my crown to a new winner and become part of the Mrs. Universe World International team. This is an important stage that opens new horizons.

But most importantly, it’s my mission. I want to create a platform for women where each can find something for herself: inspiration, support, opportunities for self-realization and harmony.

The world is vast, there are many summits, and there are those to inspire.

Personal Brand on LinkedIn First sale – at age 4 was born in Lutsk and lived on Pavlova Street until I was seven.

Back then, there was a small market on Lvivska Street where elderly women sold vegetables and fruits.

One summer, my brother and I decided to sell our own agricultural products at that market—carrots, onions, cucumbers—that we had picked from our grandma’s garden.

We sold everything and bought ourselves a pack of Donald Duck chewing gum. Absolutely fantastic! It was 1986, and I was just four years old.

Since then, sales have been anchored in my mind with a clear message—it’s pure excitement!

Later, whenever I was asked in interviews how many years of sales experience I had, I counted from that very moment. 😎 Throughout school and beyond, I was always active. In every workplace, I naturally took on leadership roles, initiated various activities, and got involved in everything.

But my journey to this mindset wasn’t a straight path—it was shaped by a very specific experience.

A turning point As a teenager, I spent a lot of time on the streets.

Bad company, alcohol, soft drugs—just like in the wild ‘90s and

early 2000s.

By some miracle, I managed to avoid getting caught up in something that could have ruined my life—or ended it altogether.

One moment, in particular, put an end to that chapter.

One day, I showed up at my friend’s place while high. His mom had certain extrasensory abilities.

She looked straight into my eyes and said: «Hosha, if you don’t stop, it will end badly for you.»

Those words hit me hard. They genuinely scared me. That’s when I realized I needed to make a drastic change in my life.

Education & a life-changing trip Before university, I studied at Lutsk’s best high school—Gymnasium #21. (Yes, yes—Dima Monatik went there too.)

We had an incredible class—11-B. Everyone was unique and out-ofthe-box thinkers.

Thanks to our geography teacher, Svitlana Oleksiivna, and the late head of the Volyn Regional Administration, Borys Petrovych Klimchuk, we wrote a research paper on “The Foreign Economic Activities of Volyn Region.”

I won an honorable second place, which came with a year-long scholarship and a 21-day trip to Artek.

That trip changed me completely.

The phenomenal atmosphere of Gurzuf, the brilliant young people I met (among them, Lesia Orobets— future Member of Parliament, Nazar Cherniavskyi—CEO of Sayenko & Kharenko, and Heorhii Hrishkan— the lead actor in the film Another), along with the camp’s unique traditions, gave me a profound realization:

And I can do anything.

Public activism & politics After high school, I enrolled at Le-

sya Ukrainka Volyn National University, majoring in Applied Linguistics.

After attending a training session called «How to Start a Political Career,» I got involved in civic activism, which led to me being noticed and invited to join the campaign headquarters of «Our Ukraine.»

At the time, public activism felt

like a breath of fresh air—an entirely different environment filled with ambitious and proactive people.

Eventually, I joined the party and actively participated in social initiatives.

I became a member of the Association of Young Reformers (AMoRe) and worked as an election commission member.

During Viktor Yushchenko’s presidential campaign in Volyn, I was responsible for handling crisis situations and became the youngest representative in the District Election Commission.

We were the ones counting all the ballots from Volyn.

In 2004, I was among a team of three people from different political parties responsible for transporting all the Volyn region’s ballots to the Central Election Commission in Kyiv.

I had one of the most beautiful territories in Ukraine—Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Moldova.

My manager at the time, Victor Rudeichuk (now my close friend and godfather to my child), and I achieved incredible results.

One year, the company rewarded 99 top employees with a trip to Disneyland Paris—I was recognized for my professional achievements and commitment to self-development.

Later, craving a change, I used After my best friend Andriy— whom I worked with actively in public and political spheres—committed suicide, I swore I would never enter politics again.

However, in 2016, I briefly became the head of the Agrarian Party of Lutsk while working in sales for Roullier Group, a premium agricultural fertilizer company.

Corporate business Before turning 25, I worked all kinds of jobs: Selling ads on public transport, selling ice cream, delivering newspapers, working as a laborer in a factory, a hotel doorman, a furniture salesman, a promoter for alcohol brands, and issuing consumer loans.

At around 25, I got serious about corporate business as a full-time employee.

I worked for companies like Philip Morris, Kimberly-Clark, Modern Expo, KMZ Industries (Dragon Capital), Roullier Group (Timac Agro Ukraine), and GigaGroup.

Over 13 years, I gained a strong professional background, working across different industries, regions, and products—but always in roles related to sales and team management.

It all started in 2008 when I landed my dream job at Philip Morris as a Territory Executive.

For me, this was the dream job at that moment!

High salary. A brand-new company car. My own laptop (a $5,000 military-grade Panasonic, like in action movies). Fully covered vacations, health insurance, top-notch dental care, ongoing training and development.

Thanks to Philip Morris, I experienced KaZantip firsthand—I came up with a rebranding concept for Chesterfield and won a week-long trip to the festival.

Later, I moved on to KimberlyClark as a Trade Activator, relocating to Chernivtsi for work.

LinkedIn to break into a completely new industry—a leadership role at Roullier Group, a French private agro-company specializing in innovative fertilizers.

At first, my hiring raised eyebrows—how could they take someone without an agronomy degree or industry experience?

There was even internal pushback.

But I had done my homework.

Here’s the translated text in authentic American English: My Journey with Modern Expo After that, I worked at Modern Expo. As a Country Manager, I was responsible for five countries—Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Moldova, and Belarus.

It was at Modern Expo that I first realized my LinkedIn activity could actually be useful to others.

The company’s owner, Petro Pylypyuk, gathered top managers every month and a half for leadership meetings, where we prepared various presentations. He required us to include one slide where we shared personal life hacks, methods, or tools we used to achieve better results.

At one of these meetings, I introduced my colleagues to LinkedIn. Soon after, I was asked to create a LinkedIn presentation for the Modern Expo University, focusing on how to use the platform for B2B sales.

I decided not to stop there. I reached out to Darina Samolyuk, the owner of the «EGO» training center, and together we organized the first LinkedIn masterclass in Lutsk.

I still remember how nervous I was in front of the camera when we

recorded the video invitation. The moment the camera turned on, I froze—I literally couldn’t get a word out.

Twelve people attended that masterclass, and that was the first time I made money from my LinkedIn expertise.

That’s when I realized—this is something worth developing further.

Crisis = Opportunity Then, life hit me hard. Due to certain circumstances, I left Modern Expo and went through a divorce with my first wife.

I felt completely lost. Everything I had built for years had collapsed.

To pull myself out of this crisis, I did something I had never done before—I invested in a personal development training program called «The Architecture of Your Life» by Herman Del. That program changed everything.

I realized it was time for a complete

reset.

I decided to move to Kyiv and start over from scratch.

At Herman’s training, I heard something that stuck with me—my knowledge of LinkedIn was unique, and I needed to share it.

So, as soon as I arrived in Kyiv, I sold my first LinkedIn masterclass to top lawyers, investors, and business owners.

To be honest, I was terrified. I kept wondering—how would people in Kyiv perceive me? Would they find my insights valuable?

But in the end, everyone was highly satisfied.

More importantly, that event led me to connect with people who later became partners, collaborators, and even friends.

Another key connection was Fedir Drepin. Together, we created “Zdravo Sunday Club,” a men’s group where we combined sauna sessions with deep conversations.

The club included business owners, executives, athletes, and other driven individuals. We practiced cold plunges in open water all year round—it was our way of «recharging our batteries» through a unique form of networking.

That experience was incredibly valuable and energizing for me.

Personal Brand Right after moving to Kyiv, while working at KMZ Industries, I attended a personal branding training by Tetiana Lukianuk (who is now the CEO of Google Ukraine).

That’s when I had a major realization—I had always hidden behind big company brands, but no one really knew who Ihor Nikolenko was.

That realization pushed me to create my own website and start consulting as a side hustle—initially, just a hobby.

But over time, this «hobby» started generating 15-20% of my total monthly income.

I spent eight months in a group therapy course, and I can confidently say my life now has two distinct phases—before and after gestalt.

I no longer wait for external help— I rely on myself.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has required not only military and economic support but also a powerful voice on the international stage. In the United States, advocacy plays a decisive role in maintaining political attention toward Ukraine, making critical decisions, and countering Russian influence.

Lyubov Maniuk talks about her journey in advocacy, key initiatives, and the role of the Ukrainian community in this process.

Lyubov Maniuk: advocacy for ukraine in the USA Tell us about your path: what field did you work in before moving to the USA, and what do you do now? How did you come to advocacy work in your new country?

Before moving to the USA, I worked as a lawyer in Kyiv, developing a career in one of the most important strategic sectors - energy. For 18 years, I worked at the intersection of law, public policy, and business, consulting high-ranking officials, leading industry companies, and actively participating in shaping the regulatory framework of the fuel and energy sector.

My contributions to the development of Ukraine’s energy sector were recognized twice by the relevant Ministry.

However, 2022, like for all Ukrainians, changed everything. With the start of the full-scale invasion, I had to evacuate to the USA, where my brother lived. The move was a challenge for me, but it also opened new opportu-

nities. I began working at his creative agency, Explore Films, which led me to a new passion - producing commercial and documentary videos.

In 2023, I completed a producer’s course at the New York Film Academy and founded my own production company, Humani Films: https://humanifilms.com/ Realizing the importance of spreading the truth about the war, my team and I began creating content that helps convey the Ukrainian agenda to American audiences. Advocacy became a natural continuation of this work.

Additionally, to improve my advocacy skills and better understand the legal processes in the USA, in the summer of 2024, I enrolled in the American Law Program at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. This program offers the opportunity to study the US legal system from within, analyze key aspects of advocacy, and gain a practical understanding of how laws work in American society. This is an important

step in my professional development, which I hope will help me more effectively defend the interests of Ukrainians in the USA. How does advocacy work in the USA, what are its key areas, and what role does it play in supporting Ukraine?

Advocacy in the USA is an important tool for influencing political processes. It includes various approaches - from lobbying on Capitol Hill to public initiatives and informational campaigns.

Key areas of advocacy include: - Lobbying and direct interaction with the government – meetings with congress members, senators, administration representatives, preparing legislative initiatives.

- Media influence and public diplomacy – publications in major media, cultural and social campaigns.

- Mass actions and public activism – protests, rallies, petitions, flash mobs.

- Fundraising and charity – raising funds for humanitarian projects, etc.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the role of advocacy work has increased many times over. The Ukrainian diaspora and international organizations constantly work to ensure that the issue of Ukraine remains at the forefront of American politicians’ minds. It is these efforts that determine the level of support for Ukraine in both the short-term and long-term perspectives.

For me, a key breakthrough in advocating for Ukraine was my participation in the spring and fall Ukraine Action Summit 2024, organized by the American Coalition for Ukraine (which was founded by a group of American nonprofit organizations united to coordinate advocacy efforts in support of Ukraine in the USA). It was an opportunity to meet and speak with members of Congress

In which areas of advocacy are you most involved, and what initiatives have been most effective?

My team at Humani Films and I started small - we participated in rallies in South Florida and created videos of such events to spread them on social media. At these events, I heard about the challenges faced by newly arrived Ukrainians - legal issues, health insurance, finding housing, employment, and more.

This inspired me to create the YouTube podcast «REC VISIT USA» to help Ukrainians adapt to the new realities. The main mission of the podcast is to spread knowledge and experience from certified specialists, licensed professionals, and successful Ukrainian-American businesspeople in the USA, while also promoting the selfsufficient Ukrainian community in America.

How can Ukrainians, particularly those who recently moved to the USA due to the war, join advocacy efforts for Ukraine?

In my opinion, the main ways include the following: Contacting members of the U.S. Congress Every Ukrainian in the USA, regardless of which state they live in or how long they’ve been there, can reach out to their elected representatives.

This can be done via: - Letters and emails - these should be brief, clear, and include a personal story or reasons why supporting Ukraine is critically important.

- Phone calls - staff in the congress members’ offices register calls, and a mass of calls can influence a politician’s stance.

- Personal meetings and participation in public hearings - many legislators hold open meetings with constituents where one can remind them of the importance of supporting Ukraine.

- Participation in advocacy events organized by organizations such as the American Coalition for Ukraine.

The next Ukraine Action Summit will be held from April 6–9, 2025, in Washington, D.C. The advantage of such an event is that it’s a mass advocacy effort for Ukraine (usually about 500 delegates participate), and before it begins, experienced professionals conduct workshops to prepare for meetings with high-level officials.

I enjoyed reading your sincere and touching stories of achievements and gains in such difficult times.

My journey was not easy either. Like the eldest of us, I did not plan to move to another country, but circumstances turned out so that in 2022 I ended up in London.

First of all, I realized that I would not be able to work here and now as a lawyer (in the classical sense of the word).

Because the continental law system and the common law system are two big differences. As a result, a lawyer who studied in a country with a continental law system (Ukraine or European countries) has to go through a long and not easy path of confirming his diploma in the United Kingdom (a country with a common law system) I didn’t have time, so I decided to go the practical route and simply began to study opportunities for the development of entrepreneurial activity.

I want to say in one phrase: United Kingdom is a country of great opportunities for the development and financing of businesses of various levels, especially for innovative businesses and eco-friendly businesses.

I studied all types of financing (the most popular are grants) I went through all the stages in practice, starting with the generation of an idea. Then writing a business plan in English. Then monitoring organizations and founda-

I was born and raised in Donetsk, where my sister and mother are living now.

I have been involved in sports since childhood, first running and pole vaulting, in 2001 I became a master of sports in athletics.

Then I started playing rugby, and we won the European Championship with the Ukrainian women’s National Rugby 7 Team in 2011. After that I moved on to strongsport and immediately I’ve got the first success:

I’m Olga Lyashchuk, a professional strongwoman from Ukraine, the World’s Strongest woman 2017 and 2022.

bsolute world champion in strongwoman ( Kotka, Finland, 2014) and Europe deadlift championship (London, 2016). Bronze medalist of the European track pull Championship ( Chemnitz, Germany, 2015) and the Arnold Classic ( Columbus, Ohio, USA, 2016). Silver medalist of the European Championship» Europe’s Strongest Woman « (London, 2015). Bronze medalist of the World Championship «the World’s Strongest woman» ( Doncaster, United Kingdom, 2016). Champion of the

Central European Cup ( Trencin, Slovakia, 2014-15).

After that, I moved to the high class pro level: «Arnold Pro Strongwoman»(now these competitions are called» Arnold Strongwoman Classic») – victory 2019-2020, I was the first to win in the women’s Category 2 times «World’s Strongest Woman»- 2021 2nd place with minimal gap,

I was in Kyiv on the beginning of a full-scale war, I was just preparing for the next Arnold Pro Strongwoman 2022 competition, I really wanted to be there, but for this time the road took me 3 days, and it was very difficult, I remember what mood was then in Kyiv, empty streets, everything was closed, no one knew what would happen in a few hours, the battle was already going on on the outskirts of the city. But I received help from other Arnold Pro Strongwoman competitors, they helped me buy new tickets, and in Columbus itself, where I was met by representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora, which was very pleasant and unexpected.

Then in 2022, at Arnold Pro Strongwoman, I took only 4th place, and after the competition, other competitors continued to help me, so they helped me with housing at first time I lived in Martinsville, Virginia (this city is known for the fact that according to local residents, there is a Big foot in the woods), but a little later, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the musical capital of the United States and the world.

In Nashville, I found new opportunities for sports, there are specialized strongsport gyms, such as Redcon1 and Southside Strength, where other professional strongmen like Evan Singleton, have their workouts.

In America my sporting achievements have expanded: «World’s Strongest Woman»2022-first place «Shaw Classic Open (Women) - 2022 2nd place, 2023 - first place and title of the Strongest woman on the Earth «America’s Strongest Woman»- 2022-2023-second place, 2024-first place, and I am the first Ukrainian and generally the first foreign athlete who was allowed to compete there and who became the America’s Strongest Woman!

«Arnold Strongwoman Classic»- previously known as Arnold Pro Strongwoman- 2024-2025 - always on the podium «Rogue Invitational (Women)»- 2024-for the first time at these competitions and directly to the 2nd place Therefore, if we are talking about the level of the strongsport and the level of the management, America is ahead of other countries in this regard.

And if we talk about the difficulties of life in America, then perhaps the main difficulties are well-known to everyone who came: the first of all is the language, you need to learn it really fast and get used to speak English, yes, the United States is a multinational country where you can hear any languages and accents, but you still need to know English.

It was difficult for me at first here, but I was supported by other athletes and my relatives from Ukraine, so my adaptation was easier.

Also, you need to know how to use a different measurement system, while the only thing that I can quickly recalculate is the pounds to kg, on sports equipment, scales are often indicated in pounds and kg, and therefore, I remembered that 45 pounds is 20.4 kg, and 220 pounds is 100 kg.

But the most difficult thing is still the registration and receiving of various documents and papers, in this regard, everything is done much faster in Ukraine, for example, I waited almost 3 months for my Temporary protected status, but perhaps in other States administrative services are provided faster.

In the end, I will say that life in America is not as easy as it may seem, but if you have a big dream and you are pursuing it, everything becomes possible! oday is a special day—a symbol of the unity of our nations, international cooperation, and the efforts we all make to uphold Rotary’s ideals.

Since the beginning of the fullscale war in Ukraine, my family has faced severe challenges. I had to leave my native Kharkiv, where my parents, mother, and brother remained, and seek a safe place for my wife and five children. However, personal hardships did not stop me—I was determined to help others. By coordinating efforts with international organizations, we managed to evacuate over 150 Ukrainian families to various countries, including the Netherlands and Japan.

But our support did not stop at evacuation. Over this time, we have implemented numerous social initiatives, humanitarian missions, and projects.

Establishing the Ukrainian Rotary Community in the Netherlands It soon became clear that Ukrainians who had been forced to leave

their homeland needed to unite. This led to the creation of a community in the Netherlands that became a support platform for those displaced from Ukraine.

A year into the war, we were able to organize an important meeting, during which I accompanied the Ukrainian Governor of Rotary District 2232, Vitalii Lesko. This was a trip to express gratitude to the Rotarians of Europe and the Netherlands for their tremendous support of Ukraine. It was during this time that discussions began on creating an Intercountry Committee (ICC) between Ukraine and the Netherlands.

It was a great honor for me to lead the initiative group working on this project from the Ukrainian side, in collaboration with Dutch Rotarians.

A Historic Moment: The Official Opening of the Rotary Intercountry Committee On February 24, 2024, in the suburbs of The Hague, a historic charter signing ceremony marked the official opening of the Rotary UkraineNetherlands Intercountry Committee.

More than 30 Rotarians from Ukraine attended the event, including: • Olga Paliychuk, Governor-Nominee, • Delegates from the Rotary Club of Cherkasy, • Alexander Karasevich, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands, • Representatives of diplomatic institutions and the Dutch side, includ-

This day was not only the official start of a new phase in our cooperation but also a symbol of the unwavering friendship between our nations.

Committee Activities and New Prospects

Over the past six months, ICC Nederland - Oekraïne has made a significant contribution to strengthening ties between Ukraine and the Netherlands. We have carried out several vital humanitarian initiatives, supported refugees, and engaged in new international projects.

For me personally, this work took on even deeper meaning when my

wife and I welcomed our sixth child in the Netherlands. It became a symbol of a new beginning, hope, and belief in a better future.

Gratitude to the King of the Netherlands and the International Community Another notable event was presenting a symbolic gift to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on behalf of the Ukrainian people and the Rotarians of Ukraine. This was a gesture of gratitude for the support that the Netherlands has provided to our country during these difficult times.

My name is Olena Zashyvaiko, and my story is a journey from the small Ukrainian town of Horishni Plavni, Poltava region, to the heart of the Netherlands, where I found a new home and a new calling. Today, I want to share with you how the war changed my life, how I discovered the power of community, and how, together with a team of like-minded people, we created the volunteer media project “Radio Ukraine The Netherlands” – the voice of the Ukrainian soul abroad.

From Ukraine to the Netherlands: A New Chapter was born and raised in Horishni Plavni, a small industrial town in Poltava, where factories set the rhythm of life, and the beauty of nature—the Dnipro River and the surrounding forests—gives it a unique charm.

This place has always been in my heart as a symbol of home, warmth, and my first dreams.

My life in Ukraine was closely connected with people— I worked as an HR specialist in a large international company. My job was to unite, motivate, and help people unlock their potential. I loved this work because it allowed me to be a bridge between business and human stories.

the beginning of a new chapter, full of challenges but also unexpected opportunities.

Everything changed on February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At that moment, I realized that the life I knew would never be the same. Together with my mother and son, we made the difficult decision to leave our homeland in search of safety. We chose the Netherlands—a country that opened its doors to thousands of Ukrainians fleeing the war. It was

The Birth of “Radio Ukraine The Netherlands” Moving to the Netherlands was not just a change of residence but also an internal transformation. Leaving my career in HR, I faced the question: what will I do in this new world? The answer didn’t come immediately. At first, I felt lost—how to find my place in a country where everything was unfamiliar: the language, the culture, the people? But over time, I realized that my calling was to continue being a voice that unites.

Thus, together with Dutch volunteers, the idea of “Radio Ukraine The Netherlands” was born—a project that became not just a hobby but a way to maintain a connection with my homeland and support those who remained in Ukraine.

Creating a radio show, which later transformed into a video podcast, was a bold step. I had no prior media experience, but I had something more important—a desire to act and a belief that Ukrainian culture, music, and literature could resonate in people’s hearts worldwide. I started looking for those who shared my vision, and soon a team of incredibly talented and active people gathered around me, each bringing something unique to the project.

The Dream Team “Radio Ukraine The Netherlands” is not just media; it is a joint effort of people who have become my second family. Our team includes: • A university professor from Kharkiv,

• An artist from Chernihiv whose works inspire, • A writer from Ternopil who creates children’s fairy tales and books for teenagers, • Psychologists who help us cope with the trauma of war.

We are all different, but we are united by a common goal—to tell the world about Ukraine, its beauty, strength, and resilience.

Each podcast is a small miracle. We create programs about Ukrainian culture and literature, invite guests— representatives of the diaspora, volunteers, and artists— and together build a bridge between the Netherlands and Ukraine.

Community and Cultural Events Living in the Netherlands opened the doors to the Ukrainian diaspora—a community that became a pillar of support for me, my mother, and my son. I quickly realized that Ukrainians abroad are not just people who left their country; they are an active force working for its future.

I began participating in community activities and soon became an organizer of events promoting Ukrainian culture. Ukrainian foundations and organizations host concerts, literary evenings, and art exhibitions, and our project serves as an information platform supporting or-

ganizers and volunteers.

Every event is not just an opportunity to remind the world about Ukraine but also a chance to raise funds for those fighting on the front lines. Donations from charity

events go to our defenders, who risk their lives daily for our future. For me, this is not just assistance—it is a way to say “thank you” to those who gave us the chance to live in safety.

One of the most important aspects of my work is supporting Ukrainian volunteer organizations. I believe that volunteers are the heart of Ukraine, its invisible army keeping the country afloat.

This work has taught me to value the power of community. I see how people who have never been to Ukraine become its ambassadors, how the Dutch learn to sing our songs and cook borscht. This inspires and gives hope that our culture will live on, even if we are far from home.

Personal Challenges and Victories Of course, the journey of creating a media project and organizing events has not been easy. There were moments of doubt—would I be able to handle it? Would I have the strength? The war left a mark on all of us, and I am no exception.

But every time I heard feedback from listeners—Ukrainians who said our podcasts became a breath of fresh air for them or Dutch people who discovered Ukraine through our content—I realized that everything was worth it.

My Story: Music, Life, and Freedom Music has always been more than just a profession. It is my life, my passion, my way of self-expression. It has accompanied me through different periods – from success on music television channels to times when I had to seek alternative ways to earn a living in order to continue creating.

Childhood, Zaporizhzhia, and First Steps in Music was born in Zaporizhzhia into a family of professional musicians. Music was always present in our home, and from an early age, I felt its power. At the age of 10, I received a piano as a gift, and this marked the beginning of my musical journey. I did not just learn to play – I started creating my own melodies. Besides music, I was also involved in sports and even achieved the level of a master in boxing. However, it gradually became clear that music was my true path. After school, I successfully

passed the entrance exams and enrolled in the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Management of ZNTU. However, an inner feeling would not let me rest. I knew that my destiny was the stage, so I decided to fully dedicate myself to music.

In 2003, I released my first album, «Lety,» which opened the doors to the world of professional music for me.

Gaining Popularity Through Soundtracks in TV Series A major boost in my career came when my songs

say in the media. After 2014, I was no longer dependent on producers and began building my career independently. I established contacts with TV channels, built relationships with journalists, and organized my own performances. It was a tough path, but at that moment, I realized that I could grow on my own. I also started collaborating with international DJs on original English-language tracks. One of my biggest successes was working with DJ Sagan on our song «Music,» which topped many electronic music charts. Even DJ Tiësto used it multiple times in his sets! Additionally, my track «No Cold Ice,» created together with Brazilian DJ and producer Andy Bianchini, was recognized as the best in the «Vocal Trance» category in Brazil. I also worked with DJs and producers such as DJ Lutique, Ost & Meyer, and Igor Garnier, which allowed me to expand my musical horizons and gain new experience in the world of electronic music. I continued performing at events, weddings, and corporate gatherings. It did not bring in significant money, but it allowed me to stay in Kyiv, rent an apartment and a studio, and most importantly – focus on my original music.

People searched for my music, listened to my songs, and wrote to me on social media. Additionally, my song «Serdtse, Molchi» (Heart, Be Silent) became the official soundtrack for the series «Marusya.» These moments were very important to me, as they helped expand my audience and attract the attention of people who might not have known about my work before.

How the Economic Downturn Changed My Path The year 2014 became a turning point for the entire Ukrainian music industry. The crisis hit show business hard – concerts were canceled, TV channel budgets were reduced. Artists had to find ways to survive. To maintain my connection with music, I rented a small recording studio, which I gradually adapted to my needs, and also began renting it out to other musicians. This helped me stay in the profession even when the situation around was unstable. Another avenue I pursued was the tourism business. Together with my father, we bought a passenger bus for touring, but since concerts became rare, I obtained a category D driver’s license and a professional driving permit. This allowed me to transport tourists across Ukraine, start my own transportation business, hire employees, and still continue making music.

Freedom from Contracts and New Opportunities Contracts often limit artists – dictating whom they can work with, where they can perform, and what they can

Video Production – A New Stage in My Career Shooting music videos has always required significant financial investments, so I decided to learn how to do it myself. I bought a camera, mastered editing, and color correction.

The song «Lyubov Vryatuye Svit» (Love Will Save the World) became special. Roman Mukha, the director of the M2 music channel, heard it and said: «Shoot a video – and we’ll put it into rotation.»

I shot the video on a minimal budget, submitted it to the channel – and it went on air. Since then, I have been independently involved in video production, creating not only my own music videos but also promotional videos for other artists, even in Europe.

Life After the War Began: A New Country, New Challenges, Unbreakable Music After the full-scale war began, I had to test myself in completely different conditions. In France, I even worked for some time at a waste processing plant, collecting cardboard all over Marseille with a team. It was a foreign world, a new reality where survival was necessary. But

even in the darkest moments, I knew: I could not abandon music.

With my first paycheck, I bought a stereo recorder – because even in the toughest conditions, one must not lose touch with creativity. Now, this device helps me record video podcasts and concerts when I am invited as a videographer.

But what truly kept me going was music. In Marseille, I sang Ukrainian songs and the Ukrainian anthem at events for the Ukrainian diaspora. When you stand in front of people who have gone through the same pain as you, when you see their eyes filled with tears and hope, you realize that music is needed now more than ever.

Despite everything happening in Ukraine and around me, the creative spark never faded. On the contrary, it burned even stronger. But there were no studios. There was no money to record at a professional studio either. It seemed impossible… but I found a way.

I sat in my car, closed the windows, and created an improvised studio right in the vehicle. The car’s acoustics helped produce a unique sound, while a studio microphone and a laptop captured the moment. This is how «Neskorene Misto» (Unbroken City) was born – a song that became a symbol of resilience. Written to the lyrics of Ukrainian poet Serhiy Dubenko, with arrangements

by Oleh Adzhykayev, it embodied all the pain, all the strength, all the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine.

This was not just a song – it was my voice in the chaos, my response to everything happening. It was my Ukraine, my fight, my faith. And even when I was far from home, I knew – I would not give up.

But while in France, I realized one more thing – who truly stood by my side. The person I had been with for over 12 years left me, took our son, and went to Germany without even saying a word. It was a blow… But life gave me an encounter that changed everything.

I found not only a loving woman but also a mother for our child. Anastasia gave me the most precious gift – our daughter Anechka. Her love is enough for both me and Anechka. She always supports and inspires me, even when my ideas seem adventurous.

I want the sun, now that of Spain, to fill Anechka’s soul so that she grows up in a bright atmosphere full of warmth and music.

Music remains the main thing in my life. It changes, transforms, but never disappears. What will happen next? Time will tell. But I know for sure: I will always strive to do what I love, and I will not stop, no matter the circumstances.

My father taught me not just to play music but to feel it with my heart, to live by it. He showed me how sound can become the voice of the soul. And my mother taught me to love people, to respect everyone I encounter. She has always been the one who could comfort, support, and give faith even in the darkest moments.

They were always there – even when hundreds of kilometers separated us. Their support was the thread that kept me afloat, giving me the strength to move forward when it felt like my hands were about to drop.

The war changed everything. It forced us to leave our home, to seek a new place under the sky. But now, for the first time in a long time, we are together again. And even though my sister has been living in America for many years, now it will be much easier for her to visit us.

Family is our ultimate refuge. No matter where we are geographically, what matters is that we have each other.

Sofiia Demianova: Creativity, Ambition, and New Horizons Life is a journey filled with surprises, challenges, and opportunities. For Sofiia Demianova, this journey began in Ukraine, where she was born and spent most of her childhood in Kyiv. From an early age, she showed a deep interest in creativity, joining the «Viva la Musica» choir at just three years old.

ogether with the ensemble, she performed at numerous international competitions, winning Grand Prix awards, while her duet performances became some of the most cherished memories of her childhood.

Beyond music, Sofia always had a passion for the arts.

She loved drawing and even considered a career in game design. Additionally, she actively engaged in swimming, attended dance studios, participated in poetry contests, and studied foreign languages, broadening her horizons and opening herself up to new opportunities.

After finishing school, Sofiia enrolled at Karazin University, specializing in International Business.

However, her life took a dramatic turn after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Together with her mother and younger

sister, she was forced to leave her home and relocate to Germany. This move was unexpected and challenging, but fate brought her to Heidelberg — a beautiful city with great educational prospects. Here, Sofiia not only found safety but also built strong friendships that became her new family.

Adapting to life in a new country required effort, and one of the main challenges was learning the German language. Thanks to her perseverance and the support of her teachers, she achieved a high level of proficiency— understanding native speakers, watching videos, reading articles, and speaking confidently. This accomplishment is yet another testament to her determination and ability to overcome difficulties.

Nevertheless, art remains an integral part of her life.

Sofiia joined the Ukrainian-German choir «Rushnyk,» where she performs at charity concerts supporting the

Ukrainian army and refugees. Additionally, she actively takes part in solo performances, particularly at rallies and events dedicated to Ukraine.

A new chapter in her career began in October 2024, when she signed a contract with the renowned modeling agency «East West Models» in Frankfurt-am-Main.

Becoming a model was not only an opportunity for her to express her individuality but also to immerse herself in the fashion world, where every photoshoot tells a unique story through emotions, poses, and facial expressions.

She enjoys every stage of the creative process, as photography allows her to convey a special mood and beauty.

In January 2025, Sofiia took another important step in her career by releasing her first musical cover of the song «Feeling Good» under the stage name Sofi Bastet.

This was a significant achievement, as she successfully

combined her love for music with a professional approach to content creation.

However, her achievements do not end there. Sofiia became the winner of the first international financial literacy tournament, which took place on April 28, 2024, in Vienna, Austria. This accomplishment highlights her not only as a creative individual but also as an intelligent, ambitious, and pragmatic person striving for development in various fields.

Now, Sofiia finds herself at a pivotal stage in life, shaping her future path. She plans to pursue a master’s degree, gain new knowledge and experience, expand her horizons, and fully realize her potential. Every day, she takes steps toward her dream, continuously improving herself and discovering new opportunities.

Her story is one of inspiration, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Sofiia Demianova is a shining example of how talent, perseverance, and selfbelief can transform a life and open new horizons.

«Today, there is likely no country in the world that hasn’t welcomed Ukrainians following the start of the full-scale invasion. As a nation of action, we have actively promoted our culture and traditions abroad—creating cultural hubs in major cities and small communities alike, sharing our love for Ukraine with locals sincerely, generously, and selflessly.

Ukrainians in the Netherlands

I

n the Netherlands, such a hub is Kastanje, a Ukrainian-Dutch cultural center founded in 2023. Its official presentation took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in The Hague, attended by ministry representatives, ambassadors, and cultural attachés from various countries. Setting a high standard from the beginning, Kastanje positions itself as a center with a curatorial approach and cultural expertise, dedicated to integrating Ukrainian art and heritage into the European context.

‘All Ukrainians abroad are cultural diplomats. We cannot afford to lose time. We must build strong cultural

connections between our countries now. After the victory, Ukraine will hold a special place in the European Union.

The strong foundation for this is being laid today—it must be stable and enduring,’ emphasizes the center’s founder, Ukrainian art curator Marianna Dzhulay.

Why the name ‘Kastanje’? It is not coincidental. The chestnut tree symbolizes strength, beauty, and resilience.

It is a recognized emblem of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, which today, like all things Ukrainian, has become a symbol of steadfastness. The word ‘kashtan’ sounds similar in both Ukrainian and Dutch, creating another phonet-

ic bridge between the cultures. Chestnut trees are also valued in the Netherlands: they inspired Van Gogh to capture their blooms in various states, and Anne Frank, while hiding from the Nazis, observed a chestnut tree through a small window—it became a symbol of hope and life for her.

What values form the foundation of Kastanje’s activities? We deeply honor Ukrainian traditions, folklore, and our complex yet rich history. At the same time, we are an inseparable part of the modern world. Ukrainian artists, musicians, and actors create cultural works of the highest caliber, which, unfortunately, are not always adequately represented abroad. While most Ukrainian hubs primarily focus on traditional elements, Kastanje seeks to showcase contemporary practices, with artistic value as the sole criterion. Facilitating Ukrainian-Dutch col-

laborations and fostering intercultural dialogue also play vital roles. We believe that culture is the foundation for genuine connections and mutual understanding, paving the way for a more harmonious society for future generations.

A key focus of Kastanje’s work is the preservation of Ukrainian cultural heritage, notably the legacy of Polina Raiko. Her house in Oleshky, adorned with unique frescoes, was destroyed as a result of Russia’s destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station. Two years after this tragedy, Kastanje and its partners organized five exhibitions dedicated to her life and art in Kyiv, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen.

In its first year and a half, Kastanje has implemented numerous projects: exhibitions of contemporary Ukrainian artists, public discussions, lectures, workshops for

displaced individuals, children’s excursions, and art therapy sessions.

Beyond its work in the Netherlands, Kastanje develops international collaborations, curating exhibitions in Karlsruhe, Berlin, Brussels, and Denmark, where its project was showcased during the Copenhagen Light Festival.

Additionally, it had the honor of being a special guest at Art The Hague, presenting contemporary Ukrainian art and hosting a discussion on art during wartime.

Throughout its activities, Kastanje has successfully collaborated with key institutions such as the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands, the Dutch Ministry of Jus-

tice, the University of Amsterdam, Law Hub, the Ukrainian House in Denmark, the Ukrainian Civil Society Hub in Brussels, and galleries in Amsterdam and The Hague.

Kastanje is an officially registered non-profit organization in the European Union, supported by a team of professionals and dedicated enthusiasts. We are open to international collaboration and dialogue with those who share our values and vision of culture as a tool for unity, resilience, and hope.

The Dance of Life:

When I first set foot on American soil, I was determined yet faced with many uncertainties.

Moving to the U.S. was both a challenge and an opportunity—to build a new life while preserving my identity and helping fellow Ukrainians feel the warmth of their native culture.

Today, I am happy that I have partially fulfilled my dreams by opening my own dance studio, launching an event agency, continuing my charitable work, and starting new projects that I will share soon…

A Story of Faith, Optimism, and Dream Fulfillment

H

owever, this journey was not easy, and it was faith and optimism that became my greatest allies. I am infinitely grateful to every person I have met along the way—those who supported me, contributed to my life, and helped my projects flourish.

Starting a New Life in the U.S. I moved to America, leaving behind my beloved Ukraine when the war changed millions of lives. It felt like I was

starting from scratch, unsure of what lay ahead. However, I did not let fear or uncertainty stop me. My relocation was challenging not only because of the new country, language, and culture but also because I am raising my children alone. This added an extra layer of difficulty, as I had to adapt while also helping my children find their place in this new world, feel safe, and believe in a bright future.

Despite all the hardships, I can now say that this was not just a bold change—it was the most exciting and special adventure of my life. It opened new opportunities, introduced me to incredible people, and helped me find my purpose in a world where I can bring my ideas to life.

From Dream to Reality: Creating a Dance Studio and Event Agency My passion for dance has accompanied me throughout my life. Since childhood, as far back as I can remember, I have danced. So when deciding what to do in the U.S., the first thought that came to mind was to open my own dance studio.

I started teaching dance to children and adults, helping them not only master movements but also find inspiration and self-confidence. Over time, I realized that my love for event organization could grow into something more. That’s how the idea of an event agency was born, specializing in organizing celebrations of all kinds.

Understanding the importance of preserving our native culture, I began organizing Ukrainian cultural nights, concerts, and charity events. I knew that many Ukrainians who came to the U.S. because of the war longed for home, traditions, and the things that make us Ukrainian.

That is why I decided to create a space where everyone can feel at home—immerse themselves in the atmosphere of our native culture, communicate with like-minded people, sing Ukrainian songs, and dance traditional dances.

Every event we hold is filled not only with music and dance but also with deep meaning.

We help Ukrainians feel the strength of their nation, pass down traditions to children growing up in a new country, and remind Americans of the richness of our culture.

Faith That Leads Forward Through this journey, I have learned one thing—nothing is impossible if you truly believe in your mission.

Faith and optimism have been my driving forces. There were moments when the obstacles seemed too great, when I lacked resources or support. But each time, I found the strength to move forward.

And the greatest reward for this is the happy faces of children in my studio, the grateful feedback after organized events, and the words of appreciation from those who found new friends and a sense of belonging through

our gatherings.

Life in the U.S. has taught me the most important lesson: opportunities always exist—you just need the courage to seize them.

I am not stopping here. I have many plans—to expand the studio, create new programs, organize even more cultural events, broaden the range of services offered by my event agency, and help even more children and families.

’m originally from Crimea, with my parents being third-generation Crimeans. I lived in Yalta for many years, and like most Crimeans, my understanding of Ukrainian language and culture was limited. But when I moved to Lviv as an adult and started learning about this invaluable treasure, I fell in love with everything related to Ukraine. I became a true admirer of the country, and now I call myself its ambassador of all Ukrainian here in the U.S. I arrived in the U.S. with my husband and two children in 2021 as winners of the Green Card lottery.

The Colorful Ukraine Project: Uniting Through Culture In February 2022, after organizing a rally in support of Ukraine, I learned that there was a large Ukrainian community in our city. I created a messenger chat to connect people, and this led to something bigger. I founded the Colorful Ukraine community with the goal of bringing together active, talented people who love Ukraine and are ready to support it in any way possible. The name of the community came naturally: we are all different, each with our own unique talents, but we are united by one big goal and common roots — we are Ukrainians.

Unity is the main principle of the project, because when we stand together, we are capable of great things and historical changes. This has already been proven. The most important part of the project is to support Ukraine’s cultural heritage. That’s how the idea of organizing events to promote our national culture was born.

The First Ukrainian Festival in Jacksonville: Born from the Desire to Help My first major project within Colorful Ukraine was the Ukrainian festival held in 2022. We organized it to help Ukraine’s defenders and also to showcase our culture to Americans. I felt a deep sense of guilt for my safety while the best sons and daughters of Ukraine were fighting and dying for our freedom and independence. So, I decided to do more than just donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine — I wanted to draw attention to our country and its needs.

Having only experience in visual art, not in organizing events, I didn’t know where to start. But I decided to take the risk and ask for support on social media.

The response was quick: people were ready to help! We gathered a team and created a wonderful cultural event

together. We planned a music program, invited local Ukrainian musicians, food vendors, artisans, and souvenir makers. A key part of the festival were workshops because I strongly believe that art can convey emotions, traditions, and the spirit of a nation. Interestingly, some of the masters who conducted workshops had no prior

for children, which will be dedicated to key Ukrainian holidays, as well as my personal author project for Christmas.

Dreams and Plans for the Future My biggest goal for the near future is to create a physical space for Ukrainians and Americans to meet, where we can hold cultural events and foster dialogue between our peoples. This will be a place that unites us all, gives our children the chance to learn more about their culture and traditions, and promotes cultural exchange.

This festival was the first of its kind in Jacksonville, and it impressed not only the Ukrainian community but also Americans, who saw our culture in a new light. We raised $11,000 to support defenders and hosted about 500 people.

Volunteers — the Heart of the Project All our events are made possible thanks to volunteers.

Even though the team is constantly changing, there are some who have been with us for three years. Each person does what they love most. I often suggest new event ideas and serve as the face of the project. One person handles the implementation, others work on budgets or search for sponsors. We are proud of what we’ve achieved, like the longest Ukrainian flag in Florida, made by one of our volunteers! It all works because everyone contributes their part to this big project, and we are united by one goal — to help others love Ukraine as much as we do.

Three Years of Cultural Activity: More Than Just Festivals In three years, we’ve held three festivals, numerous support events for Ukraine, charity events, workshops, auctions, and other activities. We actively spread Ukrainian culture in the U.S. and raise funds for Ukraine’s defenders. Recently, of course, it has become harder to gather financial support, but that doesn’t stop us. We find new ways to be helpful. I often donate my paintings to charity auctions, volunteers contribute their time and talents, some sew, others advocate for Ukraine, and some photograph our events.

Right now, we are preparing a new project — a screening of the film «Bucha.» It will be the first time Ukrainian cinema is shown in Jacksonville, and it will be the only screening of the film in Florida. We are also actively working on organizing a Ukrainian festival for Independence Day. This year, we have planned cultural projects

Culture is our pride, our connection to history and the world. That’s why we continue to unite around this goal — to make history in Jacksonville together. Art That Speaks: Logos and Portraits Created with Soul in Poland.

In a world where visual communication plays a key role, it’s essential to have a brand that stands out. A logo is the face of your business, and a portrait is a reflection of your personality. I, Marianna Sorochynska, an artist whose life changed drastically after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, was forced to make the difficult decision to emigrate, leaving my home, my native Odesa, taking only the essentials, leaving behind everything that was dear, and moving to Poland. Here, I found refuge and the opportunity to continue doing what I love – art.

fter arriving in a new country, I faced numerous challenges, from learning the language to finding work. But thanks to perseverance and the support of new friends, I was able to adapt and start a new life. Every day brought new challenges, but I felt that step by step I was getting closer to my goal. Initially in Poland, I won a competition and received a residency from Instytucja Teatralna in Warsaw. This was a great achievement for me, as the residency allowed me to realize my talents and start working in Polish theaters, first as a prop maker, and then as a set designer and costume designer. During this time, I worked on set design and costumes in Słupsk, Olsztyn, and Ravensburg, Germany.

— Anastasiia, how did your path in psychology begin?

My interest in psychology began in adolescence. I felt that there was always more to a person than they were aware of. I wanted to understand how consciousness works, why we react so differently, why patterns repeat. Later, I started studying psychology formally while simultaneously learning the Gestalt approach. That’s when I felt the power of the method — alive, genuine, and capable of helping a person live through, complete, and free themselves. It became my space.

It happened gradually. I was interested in the topic of repression — how the parts we don’t accept continue to influence our lives. I studied how brain hemispheres work, how behavior forms, and how it can be gently changed through awareness.

That’s how the idea arose to create something tangible, something one can hold. Something that helps you see yourself from the inside.

— What does the device look like? Can it be used independently?

Yes. The “Shadow” is a physical device that has already been tested in practice and has shown significant results. It is currently being patented in Ukraine. Its form is symbolic and simple, yet incredibly functional. It is lightweight, compact, and convenient for transport — especially relevant in our dynamic times. You can take it on the road, to a session, or on a trip. Its essence lies in visualizing polar repressed experiences and in creating a support structure for trauma work, including PTSD. — Can you share practical examples where the “Shadow” proved to be most effective?

Of course. One of my clients — a soldier who returned from the combat zone — came with a request about “losing himself.” When we started working with the “Shadow,” the parts he had repressed for years came to life: fear, guilt, shame — but also tenderness, vulnerability, and love for life.

— Anastasiia, you are already known outside of Ukraine.

What do clients from the U.S. and Europe say?

My clients from Europe say the device gives them a sense of “personal space” where they can safely process the difficult. In the U.S., someone once wrote to me: “Your work is a bridge between the old methods of therapy and a new future where the

body, symbol, and awareness are united into one.”

— What personally inspires you to stay in this field?

I am inspired by the sense of deep meaning. In a world that is constantly changing, full of chaos, unfinished events, trauma, and war — therapy offers a chance. Gestalt gave me a foundation — when there is awareness, there is choice. And when there is choice, blind action disappears, and so does destruction.

— To summarize, what is “Shadow” in your view?

“Shadow” is not just a device. It’s an invitation. An invitation to your true self. Without masks. Without fear of rejection. It’s a space where

the repressed becomes part of the whole. Where support appears — not from the outside, but from within. In times when the world is unstable, inner support becomes the most valuable currency. And if my work helps even one person find their internal point of resilience — then it was all worth it.

How to Promote a Beauty Business in the USA: A Makeup Artist’s Personal Experience I have been working in the beauty industry for 8 years. During this time, I have explored various fields, including makeup, hairstyling, teaching, and even opening my own eyebrow school in Crimea, where I am originally from.

W

hen I moved to the USA 3.5 years ago, like many of my colleagues, I believed that Russian-speaking beauty professionals would be highly valued and that our services would be in demand.

However, reality turned out to be quite different—I had to start from scratch, build my reputation, find clients, and adapt to a completely new market. Starting from Scratch: Attracting Clients Without Knowing English When I first arrived in the USA, my English was at a basic level, which significantly limited my ability to reach a broad audience. As a result, I decided to focus on the Russian-speaking community. The most effective tool for attracting clients at that stage was Facebook. I actively posted in Russian-speaking groups, despite facing a lot of negativity and criticism. Social media can be a tough space due to hate and negative comments, but this experience taught me the importance of persistence and consistency. After 4–5 months of regular posting, my efforts began to pay off, and I started getting my first clients. Promoting Through Social Media and Collaborations At the same time, I worked on developing my Instagram. A key part of this process was organizing TFP (Time for Print) photoshoots with professional models. This strategy helped me build a strong portfolio while also forming relationships with models who later became my regular clients. Collaborations with bloggers and influencers also played a crucial role. Partnering with popular personalities helped me expand my audience and build trust. When potential clients see real examples of your work and positive feedback from trusted figures,

Online Platforms and Their Challenges To find additional clients, I experimented with specialized platforms like Thumbtack and Yelp. Initially, these services seemed promising, but I quickly encountered several issues: • High costs per lead – Advertising expenses often exceeded the income from new clients. • Low service rates – Many users sought the cheapest services, making it economically unfeasible.

• Logistical challenges – The average travel distance to a client was around 40 minutes, leading to additional time and transportation costs.

Given these realities, I decided to prioritize other promotion methods that provided more stable and highquality results. Using Messaging Apps: Telegram and WhatsApp To establish closer communication with my audience, I started actively using Telegram and WhatsApp for group chats and broadcast lists. These platforms turned out to be an excellent alternative to traditional social media, where competition and nega-

tivity often make client interactions difficult. In private chats and groups, people are more open to new offers, and direct communication helps answer their questions and eliminate doubts. Additionally, I began hosting mini-courses and online masterclasses, which attracted an audience that couldn’t access my in-person services due to language barriers or geographic distance. Working in a Salon and Participating in Major Events At one point, I worked in a beauty salon, but I quickly encountered some limitations: • Client ownership policies – Many salon owners insisted that all clients come through the salon, restricting my personal brand growth.

• Unstable income – Despite a steady flow of clients, my earnings were lower than expected, preventing me from achieving financial stability. On the other hand, working at Fashion Weeks and prestigious events significantly contributed to my professional growth. These opportunities not only enhanced my portfolio but also led to valuable industry connections.

Working with a Multicultural Audience in Miami Miami is a city with a diverse population, and working with a multicultural audience comes with unique challenges. One of the biggest obstacles was overcoming stereotypes about Russian-speaking beauty professionals. Some people assumed that Russian clients wouldn’t pay fair prices, but my experience proved otherwise. I have worked with both Russian-speaking and American clients, and I noticed that: • Black clients often prefer makeup artists from their own ethnic background, as they better understand specific skin and makeup techniques.

• American women frequently opt for early 2000s-inspired makeup with a focus on tanned skin. • Latina and Hispanic clients love bold and artistic makeup, which challenged me to expand my creativity. Overcoming Language Barriers and Cultural Adaptation Moving to a new country comes with language and cultural challenges. My lack of fluent English was a major hurdle, but I didn’t let it stop me. I took English courses, practiced with colleagues, and gradu-

ally built confidence in my communication skills. Additionally, learning about American beauty trends and preferences helped me better understand client expectations. While I prefer modern makeup techniques, many American women favor simpler styles and aren’t familiar with luxury beauty brands. For example, they might not appreciate the latest Hourglass palette, which is something I had to adapt to. The Power of Video Content To expand my reach, I experimented with different video formats, including: • Makeup tutorials • Behind-the-scenes process videos • Live Q&A sessions on social media Video content allows potential clients to see my work in action, building trust and engagement. My journey of permanent residence in the United States began in the spring of 2022, when I came to visit my friends on a tourist visa. As with the UK, it was not my first visit to this country as a tourist or for work. In April, the United States adopted a government programme for Ukrainians who were officially in the United States on the date of the adoption of this act to grant Temporary Protected Status (TPS). I was able to stay in the US on a tourist visa for up to 6 months, but in fact, I had no desire to acquire this status.

s a lawyer, I knew very well that by obtaining this status, I would be stuck in the US, with restrictions on travel (this is especially important for me, as I am used to travelling very often). Nevertheless, I applied for Temporary Protected Status together with an application for a work permit and a travel parole. For the first time, I applied through an immigration lawyer who was recommended to me by my friends in the United States. It took me 8 months to receive my documents in 2022 and I was given a gift before Christmas that year.

So far, I have applied for extension of my status several times on my own, since when I first created an online account with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the applicant (the owner of the account) always has the case files and/or submitted documents.

After obtaining the documents, especially the work permit, I have had and still have experience of official work in the United States and all employers ask first of all about the need to obtain such a permit without involving the potential employer in the decision. Regarding the extension of my TPS status, it is rather a matter of the necessity of the current choice that was made earlier, and I understand the changes to this and the consequences of these changes.

From the beginning of my move, I lived in Florida, and the search for an apartment at that time was not very easy, because the prices for apartments at that time were rising overnight, because there was a great

demand not only from Ukrainians who moved because of the respective situation in Ukraine, but also from the respective migration within the United States. In fact, without the help of friends, it is very difficult to rent an apartment even in Florida (compared to other states, Florida is quite democratic in this regard), but I had a guarantor.

I lived in Florida for 2.5 years and moved to another state. This question is related only to my subjective point of view, because for many years I thought that I really liked warm or hot climates, but living in Florida, it is very clear that this is not my place to live.

Choosing a state is a very difficult question, because in the US, each state is like a micro-state, and they are very different from each other. I chose the state of Massachusetts and the city of Boston (I really enjoyed being there as a tourist and for sightseeing) and moved there in autumn 2024.

On this occasion, I highly recommend travelling around the USA (it’s not a cheap pleasure) and if you are here try to understand Americans if you are in this country. For me, being authentic and preserving Ukrainian culture is important, but it doesn’t mean ‘imposing’ this culture on other countries, and the verb doesn’t really correlate with the word ‘preserve’.

Writing this article from Boston, I have no regrets at all in terms of my move, but it is a very subjective decision and if you need a more detailed explanation, I will be happy to share it with you. Honestly, I was influenced by the fact that walking is important to me, the quality and choice of food is different, and I actually missed the different seasons, so Florida is not a good state for me, in terms of climate, let alone work. After Florida, this is a question I get asked a lot, and I can say that I have travelled a lot and I am very close to Europe (lifestyle, habits), and even Americans sometimes say that this city is the closest to Europe.

In addition, 2 world universities are located here (Harvard University and MIT), and this also greatly influences the lifestyle in the city in general.

Having lived in the US for 3 years now, I’ve been working online all the time, first for Ukraine, and now in the US. For my current work, my UK degree was very useful, as the legal systems between the two countries are similar, and therefore I have the opportunity to simply take the bar exam in the relevant US state.

One of the areas of work in the US is to help our Ukrainians with various issues that arise during their stay in America, working with documents and providing consulting services.
