Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Frank Mitchell park for our round 4 match up against top of the table MetroStars.
Metrostars have been setting the benchmark for the last few years and they have certainly started the season off very strong and are determined to maintain their spot at the top of the table
For us, today is a fantastic opportunity as a playing group to come together and put our last three games behind us and give it everything against the pace setters It’s been a very difficult and challenging last three matches especially in our last game against Adelaide United. First half we were fantastic and had a 1-0 lead and unfortunately couldn’t keep the strong performance in the second and conceded two poor goals As a playing group we are eager to set things right and get a win in today’s match and make our fantastic supporters proud
I also would like to wish vice captain Ninko Beric a quick recovery after an injury sustained in our recent match We are all behind you Ninko and we can’t wait to see you back out on the park
We all hope you enjoy the game today as well as the wonderful hospitality on display today and we hope to see you all again shortly
TeamCaptain Andoni Natsiopoulos
Hello and welcome to our supporters, officials, volunteers and sponsors to Round 4 of the NPL
We always knew looking at the draw we had a very difficult first month and today is no different, as we welcome Metrostars to 1 Solution Frank Mitchell Park A big welcome to President Rob Rende and his club and we hope you enjoy the game day experience of FK Beograd
It goes without saying we are disappointed results-wise with our first 3 games, and as a group we have had some real honest conversations of late to rectify this We are very clear in what is working well and what is not working well, and although all 3 games have been tight affairs, we are acutely aware of the need to take our chances and cut out errors defensively to get 3 points on the board to kickstart our season
Last Thursday night’s match against Adelaide United started extremely well, the first half performance was as good as I have seen in the last 18 months, we dominated the match in all aspects and deservedly took the lead going into the break. As we all know, Adelaide United have a squad full of quality aided by 3-4 ALeague players which in the end made the difference, but after such a good first half, we shouldn’t be losing a game like that after taking the lead, it is something we have reviewed, acknowledged the mistakes made and we now look forward to another tough test
Metrostars have started the season in fine form, winning all 3 games. We know they will be hungry to be successful this season but, as with all teams in the league, they have strengths and weaknesses that we expect to expose to take home the 3 points today
I look forward to another great atmosphere at Frank Mitchell Park today, and I’d like to thank our loyal supporters for the amazing support at our first 2 home games, we will do our very best to reward your support tonight!
Idemo Beograd! (Go Beograd!)
