SOMBRAS DE TIEMPO Manifiestos de la Ira Sombras de Tiempo es el trabajo pulido de un fabulador de la imagen. Fábulas sin moraleja estas que se parten en dos, llevando la simetría por senderos sorprendentes. Diríase que son sílabas de un idioma reciente. Se puede hablar de sincronicidad o de progresión gráfica. Sin ocultarnos las claves (el flash back cifrado por el color en la segunda foto, y la fractura del discurso al pasar inconclusa la fotografía en segunda instancia) el autor simula una hiperrealidad que corta el flujo predecible de la imagen y a cambio prolonga la polisemia, como dos espejos confrontados.

De una vena poética, los archivos de esta serie resultan deslumbrantes parpadeos que revelan la capacidad de ira y de respuesta al oleaje icónico de nuestro tiempo.

Summa de la babilónica cultura de la imagen, la serie anticipa una crítica fundamental a los principios alienantes de toda iconografía. Héroes y tumbas diría Sábato, sirven para enfatizar el proverbial inmovilismo que fabrican los publicistas para las colectividades humanas.

Así obra Alejandro, como los publicistas, sólo que esta vez no nos quiere vender “lo que tú necesitas”. Su 2 idea es de una épica asombrosa. Pareciera que su consigna es depurar nuestra visión antes de intentar ofrecernos una obra de arte, como si no estuviésemos preparados para tanto. Barrer el patio, antes del banquete, tantas veces como sea necesario. Y es que no estamos libres de la polución de los mass media.

Así, una larga fila de migrantes replica el horizonte, como corolario de toda familia del tercer mundo, creando una doble bidimensionalidad a base de introducir color sanguina y sustraer al varón eliminando el folcklorismo y la gratuidad de una foto de domingo. Crea un verismo inusual y agresivo, sin cercenar en nada la plasticidad (un atributo poco común en el collage) de la obra. En otra vista, la foto de estudio es integrada al fotograma de un film agrio, también recurriendo al color sanguina. O bien, reaparece el estigma de la publicidad, esta vez de automóviles paradisíacos, transportando a dos peones del campo hacia una penosa intemporalidad. En otra gráfica, una campesina llora la pérdida de un ser querido y es colocada en un mundo peor que su quebranto, frente al dueño del restaurante de lujo, sustituyendo el fondo.

Merece especial atención la vista en que dos lavanderas pobres son trasplantadas a la luna, reflejadas en el visor de un astronauta; allí seguirán lavando a la intemperie.

Delgado conoce los resortes de la ironía y las trampas de la buena fe, para él no hay subterfugio posible.

Quiere hacernos compartir el grado de conciencia de responsabilidad que experimenta ante la manida inocencia de los mensajes en los medios masivos. Eso le lleva a mostrarnos su lado lúdico en la estampa donde clona los sombreros de los espectadores de un jaripeo, a la manera de ovnis amenazantes, cómicos. Quizá divertida resulte la estampa en que la bendición de Dios es impartida por la bóveda tapizada de las efigies del Santo Padre y de Hitler, en una densa conjunción de elementos que van desde el niño miserable –en blanco y negro- que abre las puertas hasta la apoteótica explosión nuclear en el centro del asunto.

Leer estos Manifiestos de la ira nos expone al incómodo autoanálisis. Una de las gráficas se refiere al fut-bol, un tema inocuo si se quiere. Pues no, en los pueblos fantasmas (un subproducto de la migración) quienes juegan al fut-bol son las mujeres. Por metonimia sabemos que aquí hay una doble cita: el fut-bol se ha dolarizado, se paga caro, aunque todo mundo pueda jugarlo. Se cobra el espectáculo, no el juego.

Lo mismo ocurre con el simple acto de fumar, convertido ahora en una auténtica persecución, estado de sitio, irracional satanización del hábito ancestral.

Otras veces el pesimismo alejandriano lleva al niño que trepa a la resbaladilla hasta una obtusa ascensión sobre un muro con salientes; seguirá su ascenso de por vida, pues en la segunda imagen le acompañan hombres maduros… que empezaron desde niños. Pero la mayor extrapolación gráfica es aquella donde la mujer humilde quiere ser anunciada en la revista Elle, donde naufraga toda dignidad femenina.

Un registro implacable de los mitos devocionales es el de los creyentes de cuaresma, que van y vienen por la misma calle, tornándose insoportable la segunda vista, donde un Boeing sobrevuela las albercas dispersas en un balneario sin fin y los creyentes siguen hacia ninguna parte. Otra excelente fábula es la de los niños del campo que acaban huyendo de sus propias fantasías, convertidos en dibujos animados perseguidos por unos engendros dalinianos.

Y qué decir del migrante que camina en la jungla de cemento o de aquella extraordinaria vista donde dos mujeres – madre e hija- caminan entre dos formaciones de pulcros y refulgentes aviones; nunca fue más sutil y corrosivo el collage al situar a la pareja expulsada de la ciudad que se ve al fondo reflejándose en el agua.

Al igual que todos ellos, el migrante no podrá aspirar a saborear la hamburguesa más grande de sus sueños, pues siempre será visto como un ser en blanco y negro, vaya donde vaya. Las artes combinatorias de Alejandro resultan afortunadas gracias a su manejo del color como texto. Eso hace de la imagen de las bayonetas una película de horror; la brutalidad bélica es tratada con el cuidado de una estampa japonesa. También el niño que hala un caballo cargado de costales de tierra es sujeto de tales transformaciones desfiguradoras… y el migrante en el puente, conducido a la Babel tenebrosa que recibe al personaje con las fauces abiertas y brillantes.

Cuando Neruda describía el reparto del “mundo a Coca-Cola y Anaconda, Ford Motors y otras entidades” Alejandro no nacía aún. Eso no le resta mérito a la lámina donde los caminantes trashuman entre botellas de refresco.

Ha sabido el autor abrevar en la vena del Pop Art sin verse minado por la ramplonería del clisé o del humor involuntario, volviendo fortalecido y sobrio a “tratar” con la imagen prefabricada. Libre de la seducción por el sermón, afirma su lenguaje personal, guste o no. De esa manera, recurrir a las patentes de curso de un Coppola (esos helicópteros en el cielo incendiado) o de un Buñuel (los interiores asfixiantes) puede propiciar peligrosos refrigerios. No se reserva el pronóstico ni cede a la complicidad con un mundo regido por la demencia, ordenado según las constantes de la usura, configurado para el espectáculo. Antes de Goya hubiérase hablado de un escenario dantesco.

4 Joseph Renaud estaría feliz con esta galería de espejos. A cuchillo somete Alejandro el American way of life, las sombras equívocas de las mujeres cargando bebés sin un destino claro, las Revoluciones mexicanas, los basureros y sus ángeles belicosos, los ebrios y heridos arrastrados a los aeropuertos que no los llevarán a ninguna parte. Parece suponer nuestra capacidad decodificadora y la convicción de que toda obra gráfica está cifrada en una trama inteligente.

Fritz Lang, Kurosawa, aportan lo suyo en esa mención del mes de la patria… inalcansable. Los niños depositan su bote limosnero en cada acera, en todo momento. No juegan. Ya no son niños. La troca llevará a la familia hasta el mismo Manhattan. Los artesanos sufrirán el vértigo de la estructura y el jinete irá siempre a contracorriente y despacio.

Pero hay en la saga de Sombras de Tiempo una vista inolvidable, titulada Vereda. Es una foto oscura de una mujer llevando una canasta. La segunda escena es ejemplar, con sus power plants (plantas de energía nuclear) al fondo, después del cementerio de carros y la misma mujer pisando el puente convertido ahora en una adherencia absurda, como tabla de surfing. El acerado índice del artista señala la oscuridad velando la belleza de un crepúsculo.

Finalmente un hombre, evidentemente campesino, asciende a la gloria. Inevitable Spielberg que resuelve la apoteosis de Sísifo, con la Gran Babilonia al fondo y un simbólico laberinto donde deambula una mujer multiplicada.

De la miseria al cielo. Ninguna mala conciencia impele a Delgado a formular sus Manifiestos, de modo que podemos estar tranquilos. Se trata de una obra gráfica que no para en autocomplacencias, un autorretrato de la ira.

Anger Manifests Shadows of Time is the polished work of a fabulist of the image.

Fables without moral these who split into two paths leading amazing symmetry. It would seem that syllables of a language are recent. You can talk about synchronicity or graphic progression. Without hiding the keys (encrypted flash back color in the second photo, and breaking the speech photography unfinished passing on appeal), the author simulates a hyperreality that cuts the predictable flow of change and extends image polysemy, as two facing mirrors.

In a poetic vein, the files in this series are dazzling flashes that reveal the ability of anger and iconic wave response of our time. Summa of the Babylonian culture of the image, the number anticipated a fundamental critique of the principles alienating all iconography.

Heroes and Tombs Sabato would serve to emphasize the proverbial immobility produced advertisers to human communities.

So Alejandro works as advertisers, only this time we want to sell “what you need”. His idea is an amazing epic. It seems that their slogan is to purify our vision before attempting to offer a work of art, as if we were not prepared for so much. Sweep the patio, before the banquet, as many times as necessary. And we’re not free of the pollution of the media.

Thus, a long line of migrants replicates the horizon, as a corollary of every family in the third world, creating a double dimensionality to introduce colored chalk base and steal the man removing folcklorismo and free of a photo of Sunday. Creates an unusual and aggressive realism, without curtailing nothing plasticity (an attribute rare in the collage) of the work. In another view, the studio is integrated into the frame of a sour film, including the use of color chalk. Or, reappears stigma of advertising, this time paradisiacal car, carrying two laborers from the countryside to a painful timelessness.

In another graph, a peasant mourns the loss of a loved one and is placed in a world worse than their destruction against luxury restaurant owner, replacing the background. Particular interest is the view that two poor washerwomen are transplanted to the moon, reflected in the viewfinder of an astronaut, there continue washing outdoors.

Delgado called irony springs and traps of good faith, for him there is no subterfuge possible. He wants us to share the degree of sense of responsibility to the hackneyed experiencing innocence of mass media messages. That takes him to show your playful side in the picture where hats cloned a rodeo spectators, in the manner of UFOs threatening, comedians. Perhaps the picture becomes fun when God’s blessing is given by the upholstered dome effigies of the Holy Father and of Hitler, in a dense combination of elements from the child miserably in black and white, which opens the door to the apoteótica nuclear explosion in the center of it.

Read these anger manifests exposes us to the uncomfortable selfanalysis. One of the graphs refers to fut-bol, a theme harmless if you will. Well no, ghost towns (a byproduct of migration) who play fut-bol are women. By metonymy know that here is a double date: the fut-bol has dollarized, can be costly, but everyone can play. It charges the show, not the game.

The same goes for the simple act of smoking, now become a real persecution, siege, irrational demonization of ancestral habit.

Sometimes alejandriano pessimism leads to child climbs the slide to a dull climb over a wall with protrusions; continue its ascent for life, because in the second image accompanying older men ... they started as children. But most graphical extrapolation is one where the humble woman wants to be advertised in Elle magazine, where shipwrecked all female dignity.

A record of the myths relentless devotional is to believers of Lent, which go up and down the street, becoming unbearable the second hearing, where a Boeing flies scattered pools in a spa endless and believers continue to nowhere. Another great story is that of rural children who have just fleeing their own fantasies, turned into a cartoon monsters chased by Dalí. And what about the migrant who walks in the concrete jungle or the extraordinary view where two women, mother and daughter-walk between two neat formations and glistening planes, never was more subtle and corrosive collage by placing the couple ejected from the city that is seen in the background reflecting in the water.

Like all of them, the migrant is not entitled to enjoy the biggest burger of your dreams, it will always be seen as being in black and white, wherever I go. Alejandro combinatorial arts are lucky thanks to its use of color and text. That makes the image of the bayonets a horror movie, the brutality of war is treated with the care of a Japanese print. Also the child who pulls a horse laden with sacks of land is the subject of such transformations disfiguring ... and the migrant in the bridge, led to the dark Babel received the character with the jaws open and bright.

When Neruda described the distribution of “World of Coca-Cola and Anaconda, Ford Motors and other entities” Alexander was not born yet. That does not detract from the film where walkers transhumance between soda bottles. He has known the author tap into the vein of Pop Art without being undermined by the vulgarity of cliche or unintentional humor, becoming stronger and sober “treat” with prefabricated image. Free seduction by the sermon, says his personal language, like it or not. Thus, use patents course of a Coppola (those helicopters in the sky on fire) or a Buñuel (suffocating interiors) can promote dangerous refreshments. No reserves the prognosis or complicity yields to a world ruled by dementia, sorted by usury constants, set to the show. One would have spoken Goya Before a horrific scenario.

Joseph Renaud would be happy with this gallery of mirrors. A knife subjected Alexander the American way of life, ambiguous shadows of women carrying babies without a clear destination, Mexican Revolutions, landfills and his angels bellicose, dragged wounded drunk and airports that will not lead anywhere. It seems to assume our ability decoding and the belief that all graphic work is encrypted on a clever plot.

Fritz Lang, Kurosawa, provide their own in the mention of the month of the homeland ... unreachable. Children put their boat beggar on every sidewalk, every time. Not play. They are not children. The truck take the family to the same Manhattan. The artisans suffer vertigo of the structure and the rider will always counter and slowly.

But there in the Shadows of Time saga an unforgettable view, entitled Vereda. It’s a dark picture of a woman carrying a basket. The second scene is exemplary, with its power plants (nuclear power plants) in the background, after the cemetery of cars and the same woman treading the bridge now become a mindless adherence as surfboard.

The steely artist index indicates the dark watching the beauty of a sunset.

Finally a man, evidently peasant, rises to glory. Inevitable Spielberg that solves the apotheosis of Sisyphus, Babylon the Great background and a symbolic labyrinth where a woman wanders multiplied. From Misery to heaven. No bad conscience impels Delgado to formulate their manifestos, so that we can relax. It is a not for graphic work in complacency, a self-portrait of anger.
