Where our story began...
Davidsons Developments made a pivotal decision to establish their own bespoke joinery and furniture division. To turn this vision into reality, they successfully persuaded Stewart Lansdowne to come out of retirement and take the helm of this new venture. Stewart kicked off the groundwork for the division in the summer of 2015, leading to the creation of Albert Henry Interiors, a company focused on bespoke fitted furniture, rooted in traditional manufacturing methods and design principles. Over the past decade, a lot has evolved. The business has broadened product ranges, welcomed new faces to the office and workshop teams, and proudly launched a retail showroom. However, we understand that over the years, your furniture may be subject to minor wear and tear. To ensure that your furniture stays in excellent condition for years to come, we recommend following the below guidance. By taking these measures, you can ensure that your investment stays looking like new and continues to bring joy and comfort to your home.
1. Looking after your bespoke furniture doors
To maintain the appearance of traditional hinged wardrobe doors, it is important to follow a few simple steps. Begin by using a slightly damp cloth along with a multipurpose spray to gently clean the surface of the doors. Once the surface is clean, use a dry duster to remove any remaining moisture and to give the doors a fresh, polished look.
Sliding doors are offered in glass and Uni-board finishes. If you have a glass or mirror door, we suggest using a suitable glass cleaner along with microfibre cloths for cleaning purposes. On the other hand, if you have a Uni-board finish, you can use a slightly damp microfibre cloth and multipurpose spray to clean.
All other bespoke furniture doors, such as home offices and media units, should be cleaned with a slightly damp microfibre cloth and multipurpose spray.
*We recommend wiping down your wardrobe doors once a month to maintain cleanliness.
2. Looking after your bespoke hardware
Handles, knobs, and hinges are all critical components for bespoke furniture pieces. We recommend using a slightly damp microfibre cloth to wipe these elements down in order to keep a shiny streak-free shine.
3. Preventing dust build up in your wardrobe
We recommend dusting and hoovering the internal of your wardrobe where possible to prevent dust build-up. Please refrain from using abrasive cleaners or rough substances as this may result in scratches forming.
4. Maintaining ventilation within your wardrobe
Our standard wardrobe installations feature a front frame system that leaves your walls exposed within the wardrobe. This installation method is ideal for allowing air to circulate and preventing mould formation. However, we advise you to avoid overfilling your wardrobe to prevent moisture from becoming trapped inside. Please be mindful of the amount of space you use.
