Chairman's Report
Greetings...
Thank you... Toslide into some formality is on occasion necessary for anyone in any position, even one that sits on the lower end of the socio-cultural food chain, as I do in the chair of the Alberta Craft Council.Although all the individuals that are in the employ of the Council have been thanked personally and privately,I think it is importantto acknowledge them publicly. So... thank you (alphabetically) to JeffCollins,Jan Edmonds,TomMcFall,Julie Naylor, Maureane CYShaugnessy,Nancy St. Hilaire,JoanTarrant, and ElaineEmersonin , the Shop. In an age whén verbal stereotypes are thrown around, the organization very much exists at this time to the large amount Ofpersonal sacrificein time, energy and other resourcesthat these people have given. On behalf of the board and therefore the general membership - you are appreciated. In addition, we as a board are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom McFallas Executive Director of this organization. We are looking forward to a period of stable evolution under Tom's leadership. Arne Handley

NOTEBOOK Shop Talk
Shop activity is flourishing. It is amazing what a fresh coat Ofpaint and some spring-cleaning can do for sales activity! There are a wide variety of new products currently being displayed on our shelves and in our cases. Glass and brass kaleidoscopes by Donna Musser, silk scarves by Dana Roman, historic trade bead jewellery by Marcia Fossey, pottery by Alain Favre, woven baskets in primary colours by Carol Beatty, and silk matted garden scenes by Darcy Gusse-Edinga, to name a few. Anyone who had stock in the Calgary store and does
not yet have it in Edmonton,is encouragedto give us a call. We welcome any new, fresh product for the spring and summer activity in the shop.
Welcome to Mary-Ellen Boyle, who is joining Elaine Emerson in the store, and taking on the role of Shop Co-ordinator. Feel free to give her a call and introduce yourself, or make an appointment to see her and drop off new work. She can be reached Wednesday through Saturday at 488-5900. Artists who are interested in increasing their bottom line, and who are not presently buying supplies wholesale may be interested in attending the Canadian Craft & Hobby Association's trade show in Calgary.
