The key feature of this extracurricular programme is a series of sessions (mainly in the autumn term of the second year) in which students are introduced to and discuss hot topics of current medical interest. Professionals from the medical and biosciences fields are also invited to give talks to students and provide mentoring for those wishing to enter the medical professions, work in the pharmaceutical industry, other areas of applied Bioscience or academic research. We also forge links with university admissions officers to get the clearest insight into what they look for in applications.

Work experience is also a key feature of this programme, and through our network of professional contacts we help to secure work experience placements for students in a variety of institutions, both in the UK and abroad.

Other features of the programme:

● Special courses are run to provide tutoring on the BMAT and UCAT tests for students wishing to apply for medicine and dentistry courses; ● One-to-one tutorials to support and advise on writing personal statements for the UCAS form. ● Considerations and preparation for interview (including practice – either simulating the multiple mini-interview or traditional panel interview format) ● Advice on applying for courses outside the UK (e.g. American universities or medical schools in Europe).
