"Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get warmer."
– Anita Krizzan
April greetings from the Albany Public Schools Foundation!
We have enjoyed some wonderful spring days the last few weeks. So great to see everything in bloom.
On March 9th, we held our iSwim event. What a great turnout we had this year! We had over 213 participants this year compared to 114 last year. Thanks to our donors who helped us by sponsoring swimmers and the schools promoting the event, we had a lot of fun! Our mascot Peely was there as well, cheering on the swimmers. Wonderful volunteers helped make this event a huge success! We will be celebrating with the TOP student, TOP school and TOP classrooms with snack parties. Save the date for next year: We are moving the iSwim to APRIL in 2025.
iRun is back! Mark your calendars for March 15th, 2025. The VERY popular iRun will be making its return with the Little Leprechaun Dash, 5K, and 10 mile run! This is a very popular community event. We are so excited to bring this event back. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please reach out to me!
We are very excited to announce that our 2024 Scholarship application process is officially closed. We will be reviewing the applications and asking our donors to participate in the selection process. We had 172 students apply for one or more of our 141 scholarships.
iCelebrate Kids Gala Fundraiser will be September 28th this year and we couldn’t be more excited for the changes we are making. You and your guest will be treated at the door like pure celebrities. Red carpet, champagne toast and official paparazzi photos taken. Our registration is opening up early this year! Be sure to get your tables purchased on April 1st (no fool ’in). You don’t want to miss out on this wonderful event. Buffet Dinner, Dessert Dash, fabulous silent and live auction items. Mark your calendar and get your tickets early!
Supporting the Albany Public Schools Foundation means your donations help us support the students in our community. Giving students every opportunity to succeed. Your support also allows us to support our teachers. Giving them the tools they need to enhance their teachings. To engage their students and to introduce them to new and exciting things. Your donation today can make a difference to our students tomorrow.
Have a wonderful April and thanks for your support!
APSF Wins MOM Magazine’s Community Impact Award
MOM Magazine chose the Albany Public Schools Foundation for their 2024 Community Impact Award!
“The MOM Magazine Community Impact Award honors one nonprofit organization, in each community where MOM Magazine is published, that positively impacts the lives of moms and children. Past winners include the Salem Kroc Center, ABC House of Albany, Eugene Family YMCA, and many others. The awarded organization receives a free, year-long advertising schedule in MOM Magazine to promote their programs and cause, as well as social media promotion.”
We will be in both their print and digital versions in April, June, August, October, December, and then February 2025. MOM Magazine is found in hospitals, libraries, grocery stores, boutiques, and more. You can view the April/May edition by clicking the button below! (We‘re on page 23!) We will be updating our newsletter and our website every month that we are published in their magazine.
Thank you, Selco!
Thank you so much to SELCO Community Credit Union for the lovely gift basket! While we didn’t win their Community Giving Week grand prize, Amanda with SELCO dropped off some goodies for us.
We love partnering with SELCO, and appreciate their support and everything they do for the community!
