GOLDEN TICKET WINNER:
JAMES WRIGHT - KGAL
Background:
"In my case, the love of media came early… from my high school experiences... with an experimental closed-circuit TV station at Hazen High School in Renton, Washington. Until the day I graduated, I was the director/anchor of the morning news update to 50 years later, as a senior media consultant with KGAL/KSHO Radio… Eads Broadcasting in Albany/Lebanon/Corvallis. There were several other stops along the way. Live music and recording in Nashville, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, and video production. I have traveled to Singapore, China, Indonesia, New Zealand, and across the USA to produce video media and have created thousands of video pieces and TV spots for clients. I love media in all its forms but save my greatest love for radio. Starting my professional career in Radio in 1980 in San Francisco, I find myself back home 43 years later. I have professionally come full circle. As a musician, I have produced 7 CDs and have been a voting member of the Nashville Chapter of The Grammys for 25 years. My other love… music and live performing. Currently, I am working on my 8th CD project, this in the Acoustic Cafe series."
Albany:
"From my perspective, it's people that make Albany such a wonderful place. The small businesses that exist in Albany are owned and operated by people with passion and motivation. Have you ever been to The Natty Dresser? The store is magical… and the renovation continues as we watch Oscar and Tamalynne Hult’s dream grow in real time.
I see in Albany the volunteer spirit. The desire to help others. Under the leadership of Chris Reese, the YMCA is transforming right before our eyes and is becoming the center of the universe for many, for the servant, the served, and the underserved. The lineup of small businesses and non-profits, manufacturers, a vibrant Community College, and great city leadership make Albany a thriving cosmopolitan city. A city with small-town values. Dreams and visions becoming reality in real-time like our wonderful Carousel!
KGAL Radio 1580 has been a part of the fabric of Albany since 1950. It is my privilege to represent KGAL/KSHO Radio in the marketplace."

"We make human-centric robots that walk into existing warehouses and logistics facilities without needing costly retrofitting Our approach marries science, design, software, and hardware to build robots that are ready to work
We're bound by one common goal We're here to build multi-purpose robots for good Robots that help businesses and people thrive. But that doesn’t mean we all took the same path to get here.
Some of us dreamed about building robots as a kid. Others have come from working in completely different industries all over the globe. We have builders, artists, engineers, teachers, and literal rocket scientists.
