The Albany Area Chamber office building will soon have a new look In January, the Chamber Board of Directors gave their unanimous approval for a mural representing the Albany area to be painted on the long wall Eileen Hinkle, the chosen artist, began working on the project in late June, with completion expected by mid to late September Once completed, Eileen will apply a special coating to protect the mural from graffiti or tagging

The addition of the mural brings various benefits for our community, including enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the area, fostering a sense of pride and identity, and attracting visitors It will be a great addition to downtown and the waterfront, creating a gateway for people to enjoy

Keith Kessler (Branch Manager, Direct Flooring Center)

Volunteer Experience & Leadership Roles:

Having been a father for the past 20 years, my time has been spent running to little league games, soccer tournaments, choral concerts and robotics competitions. Now that the kiddos are getting older, I seem to have a little bit more time on my hands. What better to do than get more involved in my community! I spent a couple of years on the Christmas Storybook Land Board, currently sit on the Linn County Parks Advisory Commission, volunteer from time to time @ the Albany Historic Carousel and even squeeze in some time to Usher @ Hope Church. Every once in a blue moon I can be found with my leaf-blower & garbage bags cleaning up the Cox Creek Trail.

Brief Personal History:

I’ve lived in the Corvallis/Albany area most of my life. Graduated from Santiam Christian in ‘93 & Western Oregon University in ‘01. I’ve been married to my amazing wife coming up on 24 years now and we have 4 awesome children. I currently manage the Direct Flooring Center here in Albany and I hope they let me stick around until retirement comes my way! Being with my family whether it’s at the Coast, in the Gorge or in the mountains is about the most perfect way to spend my time.

Why the Chamber is Important:

A way for us to gather and share our passion for the community we live in. Relationships come first, B2B networking follows naturally. The Chamber provides us the vehicle to connect when our busy lives may prevent otherwise. Strength in numbers with much accomplished when we are organized and like-minded, the Chamber provides that! Looking forward to being a part of this business fabric for many more years.

Selina Marshall (VP & Branch Manager, Citizens Bank)

Volunteer Experience: Greater Albany Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Corvallis, United Way of Benton County, Mid Valley Pop Warner, Leadership Corvallis, Leadership Albany, and my kids school and sport programs.

Leadership Roles: Corvallis Chamber of Commerce-board member, United Way of Benton County-grant committee, Mid-Valley Pop Warner-board member, Rotary Club of Corvallis-President & Membership Chair, Greater Albany Rotary Club-Membership Chair.

Brief Personal History: I am an Oregon native growing up in Oakridge and Philomath, and a graduate of Oregon State University. For the past (almost) 25 years I have worked at Citizens Bank in a variety of departments and areas, most recently as Branch Manager & Commercial Loan Officer at the West Albany branch of Citizens Bank. I am married (Chad) and have two children (Justin & Ava). Chad works for the City of Corvallis supervising the Water Treatment Plants. My son Justin currently lives in Colorado pursing his dream of being a college football coach at Adams State University. My daughter Ava is going to be a senior at South Albany High School this coming fall.

Why the Chamber is Important: The Chamber is important because they provide a unified voice and are advocates for businesses in Albany that positively affects the overall health of the local economy.

Background:

"I have been in the preventive maintenance industry for the last 10 years. We do air filters ,cabin filter replacement, full service oil change, transmission fluid change, differential service, tune up and detailing. We treat each vehicle as if it was ours."

Biggest Issue Facing Albany:

"One of the biggest issues in my opinion is drugs and homelessness. We can address this by finding solutions to the problem, for example, have affordable housing for low income families, and have rehabilitation centers to help them get up on their feet."

Business Marketing Niche:

"Our advice for success is catering to our customers. We take care of each vehicle as if it was one of our own. Communication is key to understanding the customers needs, and their vehicle's needs, and providing our customers a comfortable waiting room with amenities."

Community Involvement:

"We have donated some oil changes to Furniture Share of Albany and also donated money to the Tangent Fire Department. We have also done free oil changes to local people in need.

Jadyn Baskin, Office Manager

jbaskin@albanychamber.com

I am very happy and excited to be joining the Albany Chamber as the new Office Manager I graduated from Oregon State in 2019 with my Marketing Degree Go Beavs! I then worked as an Office Manager for three years before landing my first Marketing job, where I was introduced to the Albany Chamber of Commerce After attending Greeters for years and seeing all the amazing programs that the Albany Chamber does, I knew I had to apply when this position opened. I can't wait to work with all of you and to learn more about our incredible members! Being from the Albany area and an LBCC/OSU alum I am looking forward to serving the community that has served me for so many years.
