How to use the Chester Pass Roundabout

Main Roads would like to assist the community and visitors by providing information on how to negotiate the 5 legged roundabout.

If you are taking the first exit, you must be in the left lane and indicate left as you approach the roundabout.

If you are taking the second exit, you can be in either the left or right lane and don’t indicate at all as you approach the roundabout.

If you are taking the third or fourth exit or if you are going all the way around, ensure you are in the right lane and indicate right as you approach.

These golden rules and diagrams make clear how best to take your chosen journey:

• As a guide, do not go past the second exit if you are in the left lane

• Always indicate left as you exit - whatever lane you are in and whatever exit you are taking

If you are wanting to go onto South Coast Hwy from either Chester Pass Rd or North Rd, you must approach in the right lane, indicating right. As you pass Hanranhan Road, indicate left and change to the left lane. Then turn from Albany Hwy to South Coast Hwy.

To assist you, Main Roads has provided:

• Large signs on the approach to the roundabout which give you an indication of which lane you should be in

• Pavement marking (arrows) placed at the roundabout help drivers to make the correct lane selection
