Vince became a member of the Munster Football Association in 1975 and, in over 35 years involvement, served the association as Chairman, Assistant Treasurer, and Hon. Treasurer, a position he filled until his retirement in 2009.
However, it is involvement in the development of Turners Cross that he will be best remembered for. Over the years he was the main driving force in developing the ground into one of the finest stadiums in the country. When the MFA acquired the ground in 1983, the pitch was in a poor state, as it was surrounded by four grassy banks and the dressing rooms consisting of a galvanised shed. Today the pitch is considered one of the best in the country, the stadium is an all-seater stadium covered on four sides and the dressing rooms are fine and spacious. The ground as it stands is indeed a fitting testament to all of his hard work.

Vince represented the MFA at FAI Youth, Junior and Senior Levels of the game and sat on a number of different FAI committees. He was a member of the FAI Junior Council 1975-1978, FAI Youth Committee 1978-1990 where he served as Chairman from 1980-1982. He then became a member of the FAI Senior Council in 1990 and served on that body until 2006. Vince was made a Life Vice-President of the FAI in 2006.

The Munster Football Association were saddened at the recent passing of Council member, Tony Murphy. Tony had a long and distinguished career in football, as Player, Manager and Administrator. Tony enjoyed great success as a player with Tramore Athletic, been part of first FAI Youth Cup winning team in season 1957/58. Tony was a founding member of Western Rovers football club. Tony was also manager of first Cork Schoolboy League Kennedy Cup winning team in He1977.served
on Cork Schoolboy League committee before joining the Management Committee of the Munster Senior League in 1995, serving as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Tony was League president upon his recent untimely passing. In 2018 Tony was recognized with a ‘Services to Football’ award by the League for outstanding contribution to Football.
At provincial, Tony joined the MFA in 2002 and also represented the council on the FAI Domestic committee for many years.
