Dear ACC Family, I hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying some great weather! This week my letter is an early in the season Safety Notice. I hope that you can help me in keeping our members, guests, and children safe and able to enjoy the Club amenities.

In the past 2 weeks we have had several instances where golfing traffic on the course has encountered non­golfers on the course. I am asking that as members you help the Staff of the Club in observing the following points, communicating these to your friends and neighbors, and if you see them being violated please contact the clubhouse or pro shop.

• Fishing on the pond at #4 is prohibited. There should be nobody standing around the pond or in the pond.

• Walking of the course during golfing hours is a major safety concern and is not allowed.

• If walking with your dog on ANY Club property, please pick up after your dog. There are several trash receptacles around to place this in.

• Children under the age of 10 need to be accompanied by a parent while on Club grounds.

There is a waiver and health contact form available with Marty to complete if you intend to leave your child at the Club either this spring or summer at the pool.

• Please use the Event Lawn, but also please be respectful of Golf Etiquette for those finishing up their round on #18. Similar to this, remember that the cart path continues along the side of the Clubhouse and Event Lawn and should be kept clear of tables, chairs, bikes, or scooters.

• Please remember that the speed limit on North Fairway is 25 mph. Please be on the lookout for pedestrians, golf carts, and golf maintenance vehicles that don’t move as fast as the speed limit.

Lastly, we have unfortunately had some instances in the past month with theft of some tee markers and flags from the greens. I would ask that if you ever see anything after hours that looks suspicious or if there are people on the course behaving out of keeping with our rules and practices, please let the Club know as soon as possible. We have someone here most of the time and can deal with that situation much better in the moment rather than after the fact.

I want to say thank you for everyone who is doing their part in keeping our grounds safe and beautiful by observing the Club Rules and helping staff to be aware of times when we need to remind folks. We have a lot of property, and we have a lot of people who come in contact with that. If we all work together to follow these safety focused rules and educate others, we stand a much better chance of having an accident free spring and summer with an abundance of fun!

Golf Welcome Brandon Alexander ­ First Assistant Golf Professional Please join the Golf Operation in welcoming First Assistant Golf Professional, Brandon Alexander!

Brandon has been with Deer Brook Golf Club and Rader Golf Academy at Ballantyne and has served the last 2+ years as Assistant Golf Professional at Cowan’s Ford Country Club, just north of Charlotte, NC. Brandon comes from a golf family, his father having served as Golf Professional, and is look­ ing forward to joining the team here at ACC. Brandon enjoys everything golf­ playing, teaching, running events, and meeting new people. Brandon will be starting the Week of March 30th, so make sure you stop by the Golf Shop and say “hello” and give him a big ACC welcome!

With the latest announcement by Governor Cooper we can finalize our plans for most of our golf events and work to get a full calendar out to the membership in the coming weeks. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we’ve waited for more information on how we can conduct our events. ***Tee Times & Golf Course Update*** We will resume normal playing operation hours on March 30th.

• We will no longer have a round count restriction.

• The first tee time of the day will be 8:00am & tee times will be set at 10 minute intervals.

• Tee times may be reserved 1 week in advance via phone, in person, or online using the App or ACC’s Member’s website.

• Additional rakes have been placed at most bunkers so that members may resume raking their footprints ­ the ball should be played as it lies moving forward, and golfers should repair any disturbed areas.

• Sand bottles are on every cart and members are asked to fill divots with sand during play.

• The cups have been replaced and are now right­side up. Players may remove the flag or leave it in ­ at his/her discretion.

Golf Men’s Member­Member Sign­ups for the Men’s Member­Member (May 21­23) will begin on Friday, April 2 by phone or in person through the Golf Shop. We will start the field at 36 2­man teams playing flights of 6. If we have more demand, we will expand the field in increments of 6 2­man teams with a hard cap at 48 teams.

This is going to be an extremely popular event, so make sure you find your partner and sign up quickly!

ACC RACQUET SPORTS FANS ­ Spring Racquet Sports season is finally here!! Courts 1­3 have been resurfaced and are ready for play. You may notice that the area across from the Tennis/Fit­ ness building looks quite differ­ ent. We have begun demolition of courts 4 & 5 to make way for our new pickleball/sport court which is set to open in June of this year. Please use caution when driving down N. Fairway as we are now under construction.
