What is a Mojito?

ACC SPORTS ACADEMY | JULY 27-JULY 31 Monday - Friday | 9:00am - 12:00pm Ages : 6 - 12 years old

This camp covers tennis, soccer, basketball, pickleball, fitness and a few other surprises. We also introduce kids to the fundamentals of sport and athletic skills, running, throwing, balance, hand-eye coordination, fitness, and good sportsmanship.

Cost per child: $125 per player

Bag and Push Cart Storage

We wanted to update everyone on the status of Bag Storage and Push Cart storage here in the Golf Operation. As many of you know, we had to suspend service due to Covid. We are now in a position where we can safely resume these services. In recognition of the pause in service, we are going to extend the current Bag Storage through June 2021, when the service will be charged for the next period. Push Cart storage was never charged for 2020 and we will not proceed with that charge until the end of this month. Members will have until July 25th to decide whether to resume either of these services - those members who have carts in storage after this date will be charged for Push Cart service for the next year. Those members to have removed their golf bags and continue to keep their golf bags will be credited for this year's Bag Storage.

Though everyone is playing at other facilities, these services allow for us to clean and care for your equipment in between rounds as well as save you trunk space!

Summer heat can also be very brutal, leaving your golf clubs in your trunk day after day can lead to some damage to the epoxy that binds your clubs together. We do more club repair during June, July, and August due to heat damage. If you decide to keep your clubs with you, please be sure to store them inside your home in between rounds.

Annual Fees for Bag Storage and Push Cart Storage are $125 each.

ACC members have access to the practice area and can obtain tokens through the ACC Golf Shop. We are very fortunate to have this option, particularly once the Range Phase of our Course Project begins (we will have this timeline in the coming weeks.) Operating Procedures to Ensure Safety of All Users • Hand sanitizers will be available at the dispenser • A receptacle has been placed near the hitting bays all baskets should be placed in the receptacle after use • All baskets and balls will be properly cleaned and disinfected by staff followed each use • Staff will wear PPE when on shift in areas with patron contact

Reciprocal Availability Update

We have received some wonderful news that the High Meadows Golf & Country Club in Roaring Gap is now available to our members for reciprocity. The chart has been updated on the website and if you have any questions about using reciprocal play, please contact the Golf Page on the website - YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN as a member to access that information.

CLICK HERE *Please Note: Each private club has a specific number of days in advance in which we can arrange times - which is listed for each club on the chart. Please wait until the specified day before calling the ACC Golf Shop to reserve that time. Tee times will be arranged on a firstcome, first serve basis beginning the day those times can be made.

For example: If a club is 3 days in advance, please call on Wednesday for Saturday times.

If a course is closed on Mondays and Monday is the target day in advance, times will not be arranged until that Tuesday.

Younger kids can cook, too, and this camp is going to teach them how! We will explore the kitchen, learn new cooking skills and will make many different and yummy dishes, snacks, desserts, and even make our lunch each day!

Don’t worry about bringing an apron, we will make those, too!

Christina & Brian Flaherty

Please welcome new members, Christina & Brian Flaherty and their two children, Shane and Brian. Christina is from Princeton, New Jersey, and Brian is from Jackson, New Jersey.

They have lived in North Carolina for 11 years and have loved every second.

Brian is the COO of Global Strategic, Inc. which is located in downtown Burlington. Brian proudly serves on the Alamance Charitable Foundation and founded the Denise Flaherty Memorial Foundation. Christina is a Doula and Lactation Consultant and works diligently to help run their Foundation.

They share a lot of the same interests. They love good crab legs, and Costa Rica is their favorite place to visit.

Their hobbies include golf, scuba diving and traveling.

They have two sons - Shane (16) and Brian (12). Both are well-behaved, kindhearted gents. Both are voracious readers and enjoy lore, learning about mythology, scuba diving, and family movie night. Shane is pursuing a pilot’s license and loves all things marine biology, and Brian loves to golf with Dad. The family has a sweet dog named Duke and Sebastian the cat.

They are all looking forward to meeting new members and enjoying the amenities that the Club offers.

Wade Boteler & Suzanne Gieselman Please welcome new members, Wade Boetler & Suzanne Gieselman.

Suzanne is from Corning, New York and Wade is from Mebane, North Carolina.

They currently live just down the road in Burlington.

Wade travels quite a bit with his job with Conexon, and Suzanne works at LabCorp.

Suzanne loves pasta and Wade enjoys a good sea bass. Their favorite place to visit is anywhere with water, especially the beach.

Suzanne loves to bake and Wade is an avid golfer. He is looking forward to the course re-opening and the completion of the practice facility.

Wade and Suzanne have a sweet golden retriever named Winnie.

They both are looking forward to meeting ACC members, spending time at the pool, working out in the fitness center, and getting on the course and practice facility.

Gregor Grassie

Please welcome new member, Gregor Grassie. Gregor is from Loch Ness in Scotland.

Gregor is a student at Elon University and is majoring in Sports Management. He plans to become a heavy weapons expert in the British Royal Marines Commandos or an officer in the Bristish Army in a Scottish Regiment.

Gregor’s favorite food is Chicken Piccata, and his favorite place to visit is his old home of Hong Kong.

He plays bagpipes for fun and has represented Switzerland in Rugby for Under 17 and 18 Level. He is also an avid golfer.
