SIX REASONS TO GET A MASSAGE THIS FALL Fall is the perfect time to relax a bit after a busy summer. Here are six reasons why you should schedule a massage this fall.

You’ve Been Extremely Active All of your summer activities like running, swimming, hiking, kayaking and even the family road trip can do a number on your body. All of that activity is great for your health, but it leads to dehydration and improper positioning. After a summer of activity, it’s important for your body to recover before the temperature begins to drop and joint pain increases.

You’ve Done A Lot of Traveling As they say “sitting is the new smoking.” All of the sitting in either a car or plane that you did while traveling limited your range of motion and mobility for extended periods of time. When you sit in a car or plane for hour on end it can result in neck and back pain.

You’ve Been Frequently Wearing Sandals The warm weather of Summer and early Fall is the perfect time for flip flops and flats. While these shoes may be great for fashion, they are not so great for ergonomics and can result in back pain.

You’ve Been in The Garden Gardening often requires squatting and bending over, which puts stress on your back, knees, wrists and more. Massage can decrease pain in these areas by dampening proteins known as inflamma­ tory cytokines, which cause inflammation and pain.

You Suffer From Seasonal Depression The summer and all of its sunshine can often help to those with seasonal depression. Now that it’s fall many people are dreading the upcoming cold weather of winter. If you suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) massage therapy can help you because of the release of dopamine in your brain during and after a massage.

INTRO TO RACQUET SPORTS ­ TENNIS & Pickleball If you have never been out to the courts to try tennis or pickleball, now is the chance!

Every Thursday evening in November for 6:00pm ­ 7:00pm we will hold an intro into tennis and pickleball clinic. Both clinics will be co­ed for adults. Learn the basic strokes, how to keep score and play the game. After the clinic, you can stay and play some fun tennis or pickleball during Racquet Sports Night. Cost is $12 per clinic.

Tailoring equipment and courts so they are sized appropriately for kids makes the game more accessible ­ and more fun ­ by allowing them to get involved right from the start.

JTW ­ JUNIOR TENNIS WORKOUT | Saturdays | 9:00am ­ 10:15am | Ages: Middle School This intense session is open to Middle School (green dot) players looking to have some fun, hit a lot of balls, and improve their tennis game. This is a fast­paced group, so be prepared to work hard and have some fun!! This is a drill clinic with some instruction AND tennis specific training. We will do a light dynamic warm­up, drills, footwork, training and strategy. Fast, footwork, and FUN are all a part of this junior clinic. Melissa & Bryson Goss Please welcome new members, Melissa and Bryson Goss and their three children: Walker, Josie and Jude.

Melissa and Bryson are both from Mebane, NC. Melissa was homeschooled and graduated from UNC­G. Bryson graduated Eastern Alamance High School and Liberty University.

Melissa recently resigned as an L&D nurse of 8½years at Women’s Hospital in Greensboro to stay at home with their children. Bryson is a business and finance consultant with HCI­EBS, Inc. Melissa’s favorite food is anything spicy, and Bryson loves wings and anything grilled.

When they have time to travel, they both share the love of visiting the beach. She also likes to explore Boston, and he enjoys being on the campus at Duke University.

Melissa enjoys working out and baking, and would love to get back into painting, drawing and photography once the children are a little older. Bryson enjoys golf, grilling, tailgating and Duke sports!

They have three adorable children: • Walker is 5½ and attends BCA. He loves Legos and sports.

• Josie is 3½ and also attends BCA. She loves taking care of her babies and going to dance class.

• Jude is 1½ and is their happy­go­lucky ball of energy!

They are all looking forward to meeting new members, playing golf, and enjoying the amenities and events that the Club offers. They are excited to get the children plugged into all of the activities we offer as well.

Mary Carol & Ryan Adams Please welcome new members, Mary Carol & Ryan Adams and their two children: Caroline and Cam Mary Carol and Ryan both grew up in Burlington and attended Williams High School. She graduated from East Carolina University, and Ryan graduated from Elon University.

Mary Carol is a market center administrator with Keller Williams, and Ryan is a commercial underwriter with Appalachian Underwriters..

They both love pizza and steak.

Their favorite place to visit when traveling is Litchfield Beach.

Mary Carol and Ryan both enjoy golf and tennis and have recently started playing pickleball.

Their daughter, Caroline, is 6, and their son, Cameron, is 3. They both love to swim and play.

They also have a sweet dog named Homer.

They are looking forward to meeting new friends, playing golf, tennis and pickleball, and enjoying the amenities and events that the Club offers.

Gary Garland &Lora Gunn Please welcome new members Gary Garland and Lora Gunn.

Lora is from New London, Ohio, a small town with a population of about 2,500. She graduated from Kent State University and earned her Master’s degree from UNC­Charlotte. She was a financial planner for 34 years and retired from Morgan Stanley.

She loves pearls and has a pearl business, Lucas Robert Designs.

Gary is from Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from North Texas State University and went on to serve as a pilot in the United States Air Force. He is now retired after a long and successful career.

Lora loves to eat anything that she doesn’t have to cook, and Gary enjoys anything good!

They both enjoy traveling and love to travel all around the world, however, COVID has put quite a damper on those trips!

They both have a love for travel, golf and cycling. Lora enjoys gardening and some cooking. Gary loves movies and sports.

Gary and Lora have a December wedding planned.

Gary has two sons, one daughter­in­law and three beautiful grandchildren. Lora has one son, Lucas, and no grands just yet!

They are both looking forward to having FUN, playing golf and pickleball and socializing.
