Lives on the line

Pioneer Electric appreciates its brave workers

Unsung heroes, electrical lineworkers risk life and limb daily to keep our power flowing.

Exposure to dangerous weather conditions, harmful substances or environments and electrocution, are all in a day’s work for the brave technicians responsible for ensuring electricity keeps reaching all Pioneer Electric members.

Even in perfect conditions, their job often requires lineworkers to be at great heights in the air near high-voltage electricity. Other times, they must traverse floodwaters, wildlife and debris in storm-ravaged areas to get to where they’re needed most.

In honor of Lineworker Appreciation Day this month, we talked with one of our most veteran linemen and a rookie in the field to get to know them and their perspectives on the role lineworkers play in our community.

Rain or shine, lineworkers must work in all conditions to maintain the power grid.
