DearFriendsofAlabamaGoodwill,
Wearepleasedtopresentour2023AnnualReport,highlightinganactiveand excitingyear Ourfocusremainedonmissiondelivery,withtheadditionofanew leaderforourmissionstaff,whomadesignificantprogressinincreasingservices Weprovided43,148services,prepared808individualsforjobsuccess,and placed658incompetitiveemployment.Workforcedevelopmentwasamajor focus,benefittingemployersacrossour38-countyserviceareaincentraland northernAlabama.
Ourstoresanddonationcentersplayavitalroleindeliveringourmission.In2023, weintegratedmissionworkintooperations,launchingprogramslikeRoleModel WorkertrainingandWorkingBetterTogether,whichhelpsemployindividualswith disabilities Byyear-end,wehad30locationsandplansformore
WehostedourfirstLunch&LearnduringBlackHistoryMonth,featuringformer BirminghamMayorDr.RichardArringtonJr.andavisitfromMayorRandall Woodfin,wholaterjoinedusforanothereventgenerouslysponsoredbyBCR WealthandCB&SBank.Theseeventshelptoeducateourcommunitiesonthe greatworkofGoodwill.OurfirstEmergingLeadersBoardwasformedtoactivate ayounggenerationofleadersintheGoodwillmovement Thisimpressivegroup heldaverysuccessfuldonationdriveandworkedtoraiseAlabamaGoodwill’s missionawareness.
In2023,welaunchedAlabamaGoodwillContractServices,Inc.,focusedon contractsthatemployindividualswithdisabilities,makingup75%ofthe workforce.Wecontinuedourtraditionofsustainability,recyclingover16million poundsofgoods.Ourheartfeltthanksgotoourgenerousdonors,whosesupport helpsourcommunitymembersachieveemploymentsuccessandbuild sustainablecareers
