INTRODUCTION Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed business fraternity open to all majors, and it is the oldest and largest business fraternity to current date. AKPsi focuses on developing its members into future business leaders through professional development events, advice from brothers, service projects, and other amazing growth opportunities. The theme for this year’s scrapbook is “A Zoomed in Look at Alpha Kappa Psi,” which emphasizes the use of Zoom within the past year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Other social media platforms like Instagram, Linked In, and Twitter are also featured because with social distancing guidelines, the main way we stayed connected was through social media! The AKPsi Delta Pi chapter primarily utilized Zoom for virtual events like retreats and chapter, as well as creating Instagram campaigns to keep brothers engaged during this time. We have learned that through the power of technology, we can keep our brotherhood alive even in a global pandemic. 1

MEET THE FALL 2020 EXEC TEAM! JEREMY PLUMMER, PRESIDENT Hello Brothers! It’s me, Jeremy. For those of you that don’t know me well, I’m originally from Aurora, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and I am about to graduate with a double major in Financial Technology and BIA on the Analytics track. Throughout my 4 years in AKPsi, one of the events that you have all probably heard me rave about is the Hayrack Ride, a Fall tradition in which we celebrate the coming of 30 degree weather by riding around on a hayrack and toasting some marshmallows together. For me, that hits the spot, and I’m currently working to convince Noah to welcome Alumni to it next Fall!
NOAH SCHALLEY, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT My name is Noah Schalley, and I was the previous Vice President of Administration. In this role, I worked with an amazing team of committees to plan events for the chapter. I enjoyed having the chance to see the people I led grow in their leadership abilities.
GISSELLE ESTEVEZ, VP OF MEMBERSHIP My name is Gisselle Estevez, a Business Intelligence and Analytics major with a Computer Science minor, born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I acted as Vice President of Membership during 2020 where I learned a lot about being a leader through a difficult time, and even though we were virtual, I am proud to have introduced the now famous QR Codes. One of my favorite memories as an executive member was during my first info night as VP of Membership, I was so nervous I said, “so much we grew,” everyone laughed, and it later became an inside joke.

MEET THE FALL 2020 EXEC TEAM! CHRISTIAN CARRILLO, VP OF ALUMNI & EXTERNAL RELATIONS Originally from San Diego, California I am a Marketing (Strategic Communications) and Management double major. I chose my major because I love connecting with people and my favorite memories have been working with our alumni to connect them with the chapter. Being able to help transfer the knowledge that our alumni have to our brothers has been such a rewarding experience.
NATHAN MILLER, VP OF COMMUNICATION I’m Nathan, a junior studying finance and economics from Normal, IL. BRENNAN HORAK, VP OF FINANCE My name is Brennan Horak and I am originally from Washington, Iowa. I am currently pursuing a double major in both Finance and Accounting and plan on graduating in 2022. Thus far in Alpha Kappa Psi, I have had the pleasure to serve as the Master or Rituals and Vice President of Finance. Lastly, my most memorable moments include building lasting relationships with my brothers at weekly (in-person) chapter.
LAUREN MIRANDA, MASTER OF RITUALS My name is Lauren Miranda and I’m a Junior from San Jose, California studying Marketing and BIA. Being on exec as the Master of Rituals has been a greatly rewarding experience and really helped me connect more with the chapter. My favorite thing about AKPsi would definitely be the relationships made with my brothers and how they have helped mentor me throughout college!

Paul Weist, VP of Administration Hello, my name is Paul Weist, and I am a sophomore. I hold the position of Vice President of Administration. The role oversees 4 different committees: Service and Fundraising, Brotherhood, Professional Development, and Resume and Interview. These committees are primarily responsible for creating the events for the chapter throughout the year.

Maci Yelaska, VP of Alumni & External Relations I’m Maci, and I’m the VP of Alumni Relations! One of my favorite AKPsi memories is the ice skating recruitment event because I met so many new people as a PNM. The brotherhood of our chapter inspired me to be in a leadership position where I could showcase our culture, events, and brothers to others.

Virtual Rituals With every event on Zoom during the Fall 2020 semester, our brothers did their best to set the mood with virtual candle backgrounds! There was a different candle background for pledges, actives, and executive members. To “sign” their names at the end of the ritual, the pledges typed their names into the chat! Though it is not the same experience as an in-person ritual, our brothers still carried out the events successfully and flooded the chat with congratulations at the end of the night! 16

Virtual Brotherhood Game Nights include so many fun activities, from Among us and Skribbl.io to Just Dance! Game nights were held during recruitment - to get to know PNMs - as well as on some weekdays when we were all in need of some brotherhood bonding time. 20
Brotherhood Bonding Especially because of the ongoing pandemic, it was very important for brothers to hang out outside of the normal akpsi zoom meetings and bond with one another! Meeting in small groups in a socially distanced manner, whether it’s getting coffee or taking field trips together, helped us keep the brotherhood bonds alive during this challenging time.

Chipotle Fundraiser DO GOOD WITH BURRITOS Supporting Alpha Kappa Psi never tasted so good! It’s always a fun time fundraising when it’s with our brothers, especially when it has to do with food!! Letter Writing for Hillcrest Funeral Home This letter writing project was ongoing throughout the Fall 2020 semester and continued in the Spring of 2021. Members were tasked with writing letters to the members of the Hillcrest senior centers while over Zoom, and each time there was roughly 20 people in attendance. Many pledges were able to accomplish informal interviews while in breakout rooms with active members and this provided a great opportunity for brothers to bond in a social distanced matter while still giving back to the community. Soccer Game Concessions FIRST IN-PERSON EVENT OF THE SCHOOL YEAR! The most exciting part of the Spring 2021 semester was getting in-person events approved, service and fundraising being one of the first!! Here is the soccer concession stand, run by a maximum of five to six people due to social distancing measures! I will miss the connections and friends I have made along the way. I have learned so much from my brothers and I’m going to miss seeing their (masked) faces around campus and having all the laughs and celebrations with them! Words of Advice: Take advantage of everything AKPsi has to offer while you can! There are so many great events to grow yourself professionally and personally that I could’ve taken advantage of. Go to events, learn from brothers and professionals. It seems like a nuisance now but will pay off ten fold in the future. Alumni events are a great way to network here in Omaha and make connections!
