KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority – Aklan is currently conducting the Phase 2 of the Family Income Expenditure Survey (FIES) 2021 in the province of Aklan. According to PSA-Aklan information officer Peter Mangilog, the second visit of the FIES has started on January 10 and will end on February 4, 2022. This is to cover the data from July to December 2021 to complete the FIES 2021. The first visit was undertaken last July 2021 with January to June 2021 as the reference period. KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) -The province of Aklan has 409,938 registered voters for the May 9, 2022 national and local elections, per record from the Commision on Elections (COMELEC) - Aklan Provincial Office. Of Aklan’s 17 municipalities, top five towns with big numbers of voters are Kalibo, with 54,660 registered voters; Malay - 42,135; New Washington - 33,238; Ibajay, 32,920; and Banga - 29,166. Kalibo and Malay are both first class municipalities in Aklan. Kalibo is the capital town while Malay is where the world-famous Boracay Island is. Of the top five vote-rich municipalities, three are in the eastern district namely Kalibo, Banga and New Washington, which are adjacent municipalities, while Malay and Ibajay are located in the second district. spective registered voters are Altavas, with 17,993; Balete, 17,875; Batan, 23,831; Buruanga, 12,598; Libacao, 19,190; Madalag, 13,362; Makato, 21,282; Malinao, 16,428; Nabas, 25,481; Numancia, 24,163; Tangalan, 15,577; and Lezo, 10,039. According to Chrispin Raymund Gerardo, COMELECAklan Information Officer and currently the Municipal COMELEC Officer of New Washington, Aklan, the province will have 694 clustered precincts for the May 9, 2022 elections. “This means that 694 counting machines will be used during the political exercise,” Gerardo said.
