KALIBO, Aklan – The province of Aklan has temporarily banned for 30 days the entry of domestic and wild birds as well as poultry products and by-products from other regions. Due to the threat of bird flu, also known as avian influenza, that had killed 42,000 quails and ducks in four central Luzon farms, Aklan governor Florencio Miraflores issued Executive Orders Nos. 12 and 13, series of 2022 on March 2 and March 8, 2022, respectively. The two executive orders declared for the temporary ban on the entry of all live domestic and wild birds and poultry products and byproducts including its semen and manure from other regions into the province of Aklan from March 2 to April 1, 2022.

However, EO 13 provided amendment to section 1 of EO 12 that table eggs, embryonated or incubated eggs including balut and penoy provided they will be cooked immediately, dressed chicken, processed, cooked and canned poultry good which destination are intended only to Aklan are now allowed; which the latter EO had prohibited. KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) – Aklan’s first former rebel (FR) from the municipality of Libacao became the first recipient of financial assistance from the government in the province under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The financial assistance, in the form of a check amounting to a total of P65,000.00, was received by the FR’s mother who represented him during the first quarter joint meeting E-CLIP is a government program that aims to help former members of the of the Provincial Peace and Communist Party of the Philippines -New People’s Army-National Democratic Order Council (PPOC) and Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and Militia ng Bayan to restore their allegiance to the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Philippine Government.
