In 2025 this famous theatre celebrated its 100th anniversary.
In turn, the Trust would like to celebrate the achievements of the theatre’s management and staff and acknowledge the outstanding work they do to ensure the Empire remains so vibrant and makes such a key contribution to the cultural life of the City Region.
The anniversary saw a gala performance of Blood Brothers to mark the milestone. There’s been a major exhibition at Liverpool Library too.
Audiences naturally applaud the wonderful stars of the stage who perform here year round, with so many top productions being brought to the Empire. But behind the scenes, it is the tireless work of ATG managers and staff who ensure the theatre’s loyal patrons
enjoy a first-class experience each time the curtain rises.
The Trust would like to recognise those efforts and pay tribute to all of those who never make the spotlight but who are critical to the Empire’s enduring – and still growing – success story.
Thanks to their diligence, expertise, enthusiasm and sheer hard work, we know that after 100 years, the show will go on – and on – in 2026 and beyond...
