As part of our ongoing partnership with Sing in the City, we are delighted to share that our Edinburgh Playhouse choir was asked to sing at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in August. Our group, Sing in the Playhouse, joined voices with over a thousand others to perform a stunning rendition of Travel These Ways in this historic annual display of the best of British Military and international performers.
Our Young Ambassadors Programme has delivered the chance for a select group of young people to explore different careers in the arts while flexing their creative skills. Participant, Inis Balfour shares: ‘I’ve had the chance to meet so many amazing people who all share the same passion as I do. I’ve also taken part in incredible, once-in-a-lifetime workshops led by industry professionals. This experience has meant so much to me, especially since I’ve been coming to the Playhouse ever since I was little.’

West End mega-hit TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is rollin’ into Edinburgh on its first ever UK & Ireland tour.

Backstage Tours
Do you know someone who would love a sneak peek backstage of our glorious theatre? Then why not give the perfect gift: an Edinburgh Playhouse Backstage Tour. Tours last approx. 60 – 90 minutes. Under 18s must be supervised by an adult at all times. The guided tour will focus on the history of the Playhouse and you will get the chance to see behind the scenes.

Musical Makers
Do you want the chance to dance and sing? Then come along to our musical theatre class, Musical Makers. We have a two-hour class on stage for adults, with an hour of dance and an hour of voice with the chance to combine your learning. We also have full day sessions for ages 8–18 years during the October break. Come along and get the chance to showcase your talent to your favourite hit musicals like Moulin Rouge! Sing in the Playhouse Choir
Are you a keen singer and looking to join a community choir of like-minded people?
Then why not join us to sing some joyful tunes including songs from our shows. The choir is in partnership with Sing in the City, an Edinburgh institution with over 14 choirs across the Lothians and Fife. No experience necessary, open to anyone aged 18+ and sessions run Tuesday 2 – 4pm. Get in touch if you would like to book a free trial session.

Project: Dancing Queen
Are you a local school or youth group that would like the chance to take part in an engagement project encompassing MAMMA MIA!? We are looking for classes S1 – S6 who would like to participate in workshops with professional artists and a world-class show. The project will take place in November and December 2025 and includes opportunities such as:
• In-school Dance Workshop with our professional dance artist. Learn dance and movement techniques as well as choreography.
• Backstage Tour on the set of MAMMA MIA! Learn about what it takes to put on a show and see wigs, costumes and the set.
• Tickets to see MAMMA MIA! Come along to see a world-class popular musical based on ABBA classics.

Based on the popularity of a performance and ticket availability, prices can change at any point during the show’s on-sale period. Due to the varying nature of our shows and their set design, we cannot guarantee an unrestricted view from all seats at all times. For the most up-to-date information please check online. ATG+ Membership, group ticket prices and any special offers are subject to availability and can change or be withdrawn at any time. Family tickets are for 4 people with a maximum of 2 adults. Children
No children under 3 will be admitted to the venue except where it is specifically stated at the time of booking that the event is suitable for under 3s. Babes in arms (children under 18 months unless otherwise stated at the time of booking and on the ticket) will only be admitted to performances that are specifically aimed at them (pantomimes and shows permitting under 3s only). Where babes in arms are permitted they shall be admitted free of charge. If any other age restrictions apply for a particular performance this will be stated on the relevant production page of our website. Children (ages 18 months to 15 years inclusive) shall require their own ticket which shall be at full ticket price if no child concessions are available at the time of booking. Children (ages 15 years and under) must be supervised at all times. Supervision of children shall be by no less than 1 adult (aged 18 years or over) per 10 children and the supervising adult must sit next to the child/ren. The Management reserves the right to ask parents / supervisors to remove children if, in the opinion of the Management, they are causing a disturbance. Please note that some productions can be loud, if a member of your party is sensitive to this, we would recommend bringing their preferred noise protection.
