Welcome to the EDINBURGH PLAYHOUSE

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the spectacular array of live theatre, comedy, partnerships and creative opportunities we have in store over the next few months.

2024 was a monumental year in Creative Learning for us, culminating in Project Any Dream which saw 450 school pupils from the local area take part in music workshops, backstage tours, and then coming to see a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The project was shortlisted in the Inspiring Partnerships category in the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards and we are so proud that it was recognised at these prestigious awards. We are looking forward to expanding our Creative Learning programme further in 2025. Please take a look at page 26 to see how you can become involved.

Little Picardy is quickly becoming the place to be for pre-show bites and post-show tipples. From our signature small plates to artisanal coffees and expertly crafted cocktails, there is something for everyone in our beautiful neighbouring café bar. Discover why there’s such a buzz by coming along yourselves.

The spring season sees us open the world tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, entering a world where Bohemians and aristocrats rub elbows and revel in electrifying enchantment for an epic eight-week run. But that’s not all, our summer programme is full of variety – from closing the UK tour of the award-winning Dear Evan Hansen, to welcoming sporting hero Sir Andy Murray and comedy favourite, Rob Beckett. No children under 3 will be admitted to the venue except where it is specifically stated at the time of booking that the event is suitable for under 3s. Babes in arms (children under 18 months unless otherwise stated at the time of booking and on the ticket) will only be admitted to performances that are specifically aimed for them (pantomimes and shows permitting under 3s only). Where babes in arms are permitted they shall be admitted free of charge. If any other age restrictions apply for a particular performance this will be stated on the relevant production page of our website. Children (ages 18 months to 15 years inclusive) shall require their own ticket which shall be at full ticket price if no child concessions are available at the time of booking. Children (ages 15 years and under) must be supervised at all times. Supervision of children shall be by no less than 1 adult (aged 18 years or over) per 10 children and the supervising adult must sit next to the child/ren. The Management reserves the right to ask parents / supervisors to remove children if, in the opinion of the Management, they are causing a disturbance. Please note that some productions can be loud, if a member of your party is sensitive to this, we would recommend bringing their preferred noise protection.
