SORORS ON THE MOVE

CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL FIRST

VICE PRESIDENT CHARLETTA WILSON JACKS

EDITOR’S PAGE

Sorors, Fall brings about cooler temperatures and brilliantly colored leaves. It is a time when we have to let go and say goodbye to the days of summer. Some say it’s a perfect time to reflect on who we were, who we have become, and who we will be.

During this time, we are making the transition between the previous International Administration and Supreme Basileus Danette Anthony Reed’s “Soaring to Greater Heights Administration.” To the credit of each of you, we are “Tuning In” to the Basileus required changes being launched by our International Program Committee and making the necessary adjustments to position Gamma Theta Omega to soar - which we will! Yes, we will continue to Go Greater by delivering program outcomes that are worthy of recognition and most importantly that meet the needs of our community, as we always have. One such program is the one featured on this month’s cover.

The Inaugural Ivy Pitch Challenge was overwhelmingly successful. The purpose of the program was to expose young adults to the world of venture backable tech enabled startups. We endeavored to achieve this goal through a series of hands-on sessions with founders, investors, and partners. The Ivy Pitch Challenge focused on topics from startup vernacular to understanding passion and purpose, and by building and delivering an effective pitch deck. Participants who started with truly little knowledge within weeks began to speak the startup language and confidently speak about their venture backable business idea.

As we look forward to what’s ahead, and plan with enthusiasm, applying appropriate resources and the individual Soror commitments needed to succeed, I am confident we will make a dynamic impact on the lives of those we serve and continue to deliver brilliant and relevant programs of service that are just as dynamic as the brilliant colors of the season’s fall foliage and our beloved colors of Salmon Pink and Apple Green!

Sorors, I am asking each of you to intentionally focus on serving on a higher level and hold yourselves personably accountable to ensure the continued success of our Great Work. And please, continue to practice random acts of kindness.

Serving to make a difference, as we Go Greater, Together!
