Summertime is upon us, vacation getaways have been planned, wardrobe selections are being made and bags are being packed. Yes, it’s time to relax and get refreshed - - for most. There will be no Chapter meetings during the summer break, BUT the work of the Chapter will continue. While most Chapter members will be in a position to take full advantage of the break to catch up on relaxing and spending much needed time with family and friends, Chapter leaders will have to use some of this time to plan, fine-tune, review and prepare for the Fall return of the membership to ensure that our meaningful work continues to meet the needs of our community. This is what we signed up for and we take our work seriously.
I sincerely hope that most of you will enjoy your Summer break by taking long walks in your neighborhoods, enjoy a morning swim soaking up some natural Vitamin D, pick up ice cream with a child, start a new hobby, read a book, or just watch the sunset. However, you chose to spend your summer vacay, I hope your days are peaceful, and uplifting to you! You deserve it.
It is a privilege and an honor to serve you.
Enjoy your vacation and remember to practice RANDOM ACTS of KINDNESS!
Serving to make a Difference as we Go Greater – Together!
Soror Tangela D. DuPree

We regularly ask the question, “How can we be of greater service?” Today, I extend that question to each one who reads this Newsletter…how can you lead; how can you make today an impact day of service? And how might you serve as an inspiration for a year-round commitment to community, locally and globally? Remember: No act of service is too small. Each of us has been endowed with gifts, talents, and treasures. When we work together…we can make a difference, a change now.
Although we are approaching the summer months and some of you may have decided that is time to take a break, really, we have just gotten started. It is time to get busy! It is imperative that we continue to move forward. There is more to come in the next half of the year. Our work is being acknowledged by the community sheerly because of our commitment and work effort.
Service is our motto, our mission, our program thrust. Community members benefit from the many programs offered yearly in Tampa community. Additionally, we av developed relationships and partnerships with other organizations and companies who align with our values. With over 82 year' of experience, we have found several tried and tested initiatives to empower children and families and uplift our community and bring about lasting change. I am looking forward to carrying forward, how about you!
