HOT, HOT, HOT!
It’s Summertime, and it is SIZZLIN’ in Tampa! The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity/s 84th Grand Conclave certainly contributed to the rising temperature here in Tampa guided by their International President, Mr. Ricky Lewis and hosted by the local Pi Iota Chapter, Mr. Al Sheriff serves as the local President.
Gamma Theta Omega had the pleasure of hosting Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Supreme Basileus, Soror Danette Anthony Reed and the First Supreme Anti-Basileus, Soror Charletta Wilson Jacks here in Tampa for the Omega’s Public Meeting. On Thursday, Sorors attended the Torch Lighting event at the downtown Convention Center Sail Plaza.
On Saturday, June 29th, the chapter honored our newly crowned Golden and Silver Stars. They were absolutely beautiful. Many thanks to Chairman Angela Fullwood and her entire committee for organizing such a stunning event.
And now, we are off to Hot, Hot, Hot Dallas for the Boule’! There is no doubt there will be new hot-off-the-press information to share. Our delegation is ready to learn and bring back valuable insights to the chapter.

Gamma Theta Omega Precious Pearls Sneaker Ball: A Night of Fun, Fellowship, and Philanthropy
The Gamma Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. recently hosted the highly anticipated Precious Pearls Sneaker Ball, a night filled with glamour, excitement, and a strong sense of community. Held at the elegantly decorated event hall, attendees enjoyed a unique blend of sophistication and comfort, swapping traditional heels for stylish sneakers.
Scholarships and Book Stipends: Investing in the Future
A cornerstone of the evening was the chapter’s commitment to education. The Precious Pearls Sneaker Ball served as a an event to support scholarships/book stipends for students.
Fun Activities and Dancing
The dance floor was the heart of the evening, with guests grooving to an eclectic mix of music, ensuring that everyone had a memorable time.
Fellowship and Food
Fellowship was at the core of the Sneaker Ball, as members and guests alike enjoyed the opportunity to connect, converse, and celebrate together. The sense of community was palpable, creating an inclusive and joyful atmosphere. Culinary delights were abundant, with a buffet featuring a delectable assortment of food that catered to diverse tastes. From savory appetizers to mouthwatering desserts, the food was a highlight of the evening, complementing the festive mood.
Alpha Phi Alpha Men of Tomorrow: Escorts and Entertainment
Adding to the charm of the event were the Alpha Phi Alpha Men of Tomorrow, who graciously served as escorts for the evening. Their presence added an extra layer of elegance and chivalry to the ball. Additionally, these young men showcased their talents by providing entertainment that captivated the audience, further enhancing the night's enjoyment.
