Description:

The AIT Board of Trustees meeting was held on January 18, 2024, at the AIT campus under the chairmanship of Anat Arbhabhirama. The meeting covered a range of significant topics. CALLING OUT ADDICTION: WHISTLEBLOWING FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD

Description:

Muhammad Junaid of AIT examined the phenomenon of brand addiction, where consumers develop an uncontrollable urge to acquire specific brands’ products, leading to financial strain and societal disparities. He highlighted the ethical dilemma for marketers between exploiting such behaviors for profit and promoting sustainable consumption practices. Junaid advocates for ethical marketing to foster a consumer culture rooted in sustainability and well-being.

AIT AND RIGGS COLLABORATE TO ADVANCE LEADERSHIP, GOVERNANCE, AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING ON A GLOBAL SCALE

Description:

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS), Bhutan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29 November 2024 to establish a partnership aimed at enhancing knowledge transfer, professional development, and international collaboration.

Description:

At AIT, the Gender and Development Academic Program (GDS) places human rights at the core rights at the core of its academic discourse and research. Courses such as “Gender and Human Rights” engage students in understanding the intersections between gender and human rights, fostering a comprehensive view of how systemic inequalities impact different groups. Many other courses delve into the human rights challenges faced by indigenous women, people with disabilities, displaced and migrant populations, and LGBTQ+ communities, ensuring a holistic approach to these complex issues.
